Shaun Michael Wierson
1940-2006
Shaun M. Wierson, formerly of Wilmington, DE, died suddenly on Sunday, July 2, 2006.
He was born in Roland, IA to C. Leslie and Margaret Wierson on August 22, 1940. In 1942, the family moved to Portland, OR. After graduating from Portland State College, he started his career with DuPont in marketing. He worked in Tacoma, WA before being transferred to Wilmington in 1978. He retired from DuPont in 1992, but continued use of his marketing skills in several entrepreneurial ventures. While in Wilmington, he met and married
his wife of 27 years, Karen (Wurtzel Boots). They renovated 2 homes and were actively involved in their neighborhoods. Shaun received a civic award for his community beautification work and was recognized by the Mayor for organizing the neighborhood watch program. Their love of antiques developed into a business. Later, his enterprising spirit resulted in a business recycling antifreeze, Mid-States Recycling. In March of 2005, he moved back to Oregon with his wife. In the early years, Shaun was active in theater. He was a voracious reader and a movie buff- Other lifetime interests included photography and collecting children's antique riding toys.
Shaun is survived by his wife, Karen; his brothers, C. Leslie and James E. Wierson, all of Portland, OR and a stepson, Kurtis Boots of Wilmington. DE. He was a favorite grandfather and uncle to 33 young people who will miss his teasing and his smiles. Finally, he is missed by his canine pal, Nipper, who knows his favorite friend is gone. He was predeceased by his brother, Terrill A.
A memorial service will be held in Oregon on Wednesday, July 12.

Stanley W. Bauman, Jr.
Stanley W. Bauman, Jr., age 74, of Topton, PA, died Friday, August 4, 2006, at the in-patient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, where he was a patient since Tuesday, August 1, 2006.
He was the widower of Anna M. (DeLong) Bauman who died December 24, 1994. Born August 4, 1932 in Longswamp Township, Berks County, PA, he was a son of the late Stanley W., Sr., and Lala A. M. (Freeby) Bauman. He along with his wife, were the former owners of Stanley W. Bauman, Jr., General Contractors, Inc., Topton, for over 45 years. He last served as chairman of the board. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of numerous clubs and associations including Ray A. Master, Post #217, American Legion, Topton; Kutztown Lions Club; Kutztown Fair Association Board of Directors; and he also was a former member of the Kutztown Area School Board.
Mr. Bauman is survived by his sons, Stanley G. Bauman, companion of Claudia M. DeLong, of Mertztown, PA and Todd A. Bauman of Kempton, PA; and sister, Betty J. Karasek of Millsboro, DE.
In addition, he is also survived by his grandchildren, Trevor L. DeLong, Travis W. DeLong, Cody L. Bauman, West H. Bauman and Logan D. Bauman; great grandchildren, Lauren A. DeLong, Katelyn E. DeLong and Ashley N. DeLong; and companion, Beth E. Wilberg.
Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2006, from 7-8:30 pm at the LUDWICK FUNERAL HOME, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, PA, where a memorial Service will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2006, at 10:30 am. The Reverend Sara A. Hertzog will be officiating. Inurnment with military honors in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the memorial service on Tuesday, August 15, 2006.

Louise H. Coyle
Louise H. Coyle, age 90, of Newark, DE, died Thursday, August 3, 2006.
She retired after 32 years from NVF, Newark, DE, and had worked at Triumph Explosives, Elkton, MD, during WWII. She took great pride in raising 4 siblings at the age of 9, nursing the sick and delivering babies. She enjoyed horse racing and did beautiful needlework.
Survivors include her sisters, Minnie Nottingham, Patty Miller, and Dorothy Coker; sister-in-law, Gladys Machulski; and many nieces and nephews, which include her caregivers, Rhonda and John Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred H. Coyle; and siblings, Carl and Meryl Hefner, Pearl Lathem, Arline Harrison, all of whom she raised, and Maxine Nottingham, Harold, Jimmy Dale, Mike, and Gale Hefner.
The family would like to thank their wonderful friends from Vitas Innovative Hospice and Griswold Special Care.
Funeral service will be held 11 am, Tuesday, August 8, 2006, at Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., Bear, DE.

William Bailey Denham Jr.
Age 81, of Wilmington, DE and Stonington, CT, husband of Margaret Springer Denham, died Wednesday, August 2, 2006, at Avalon Health Care Center, in Mystic, CT.
A local memorial service is being planned for this fall and will be announced at a later date.

Of New Castle, DE, age 47, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 7, 2006, at Christiana Hospital.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Drue E. Bailey; 2 sons, Jeremy Johnson and Ralph Bailey, Jr.; 3 daughters, Shanika L. Purnell, Drue D. Bailey and Valisa C. Bailey; 6 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Robert Bailey and Stanley Bailey; 3 sisters, Dorothy Baynes, Mildred Bailey and Lola Ellison; 4 brothers-in-law; 6 sisters-in-law; 1 daughter-in-law; 1 son-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Service 7 pm on Friday, August 11, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 2300 N. Claymont St., Wilmington, with visitation from 5-7 pm. Interment in Gracelawn Memorial Park.

Dina Cocozzoli
Age 78, of Naples, FL, born and raised in Michigan and formerly of Terre Haute, IN, passed away Friday, August 4, 2006, at North Collier Hospital, Naples, FL.
She and her husband, Arthur, who passed away in 1993, were former owners and operators of the Terre Haute Market McDonald's. She had moved to Naples with her son, Arthur, in August of 2005.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Arthur (Calista) Cocozzoli of Naples, FL and Robert (Mary Jane) Cocozzoli of DE. She also leaves brothers, Hugo (Sally) Mastracci of MI and Frank (Laura) Mastracci of North Port, FL; grandchildren, Joann (Robert ) Jones, Michael (his fiancée, Erin Yahn) Cocozzoli of Naples, FL, Danielle, Dominic and Nicole Cocozzoli, John Michael and Stephanie Wallo, of DE; great grandchildren, Jessica, Christina and Andrew Jones of Naples, FL; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her best friends all of whom are members of the "Widow's Group" of the Terre Haute Country Club.
A memorial service will be held at St. William Catholic Church, 750 Seagate Dr., Naples, FL, on Saturday, August 12, at 11 am.

Otto C. Fad, Sr.
Age 67, of Boothwyn, PA, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2006.
Otto was born and raised in Fort Washington, PA, son of the late Otto and Katherine Fad. A remarkable athlete, Otto was a three sport star at Upper Dublin High School where, in 2005, he was honored as the inaugural inductee into the School's Hall of Fame for his outstanding performance in football, basketball and baseball. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies out of High School, but chose instead to accept a scholarship to the University of Delaware. At the University of Delaware, he was a stand-out 2-way lineman and 4-year letterman. He was later drafted by the Chicago Bears. For the last 37 years, Otto worked in Wilmington, DE as an executive with Ashland Associates and the family of the late Henry B. DuPont. A lifelong fitness advocate, he was a fixture and friend to all at the weight room of the Central Branch YMCA. Throughout his life he was an active volunteer and contributor to a number of causes, most importantly the Delaware Foundation for Retarded Children. For many years, he was active with the DFRC's annual Delaware Blue and Gold All-Star game and served in the role of game chairman and trustee. Family and friends will remember Otto Fad for his legendary athletic accomplishments, his strong work ethic, his love of life and his sense of humor.
Otto is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara McNamara Fad; and a large and loving family that included 7 siblings, his sisters, Anna Marie Brown, Karen Maskas, and Kathy Tucholski; his brothers, Art Fad, Bobby Fad, Richie Fad, and Bruce Fad and their spouses; his children, Kathi Diaz, Otto Fad, Jr., Scott Fad, Chris Fad, and Eric Fad and their spouses; and his stepsons, John Manuel, Rich Manuel, and Todd Greenspan and their spouses. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek, DE, on Saturday, August 12, 2006, at 10:30 am, where friends may visit after 9:30 am. Interment will be in the Crypt of the Immaculate Heart at the Cathedral cemetery, 2400 Lancaster Avenue, Wilmington, DE.

Charles N. Foote "Footie"
Of Delaware City, DE, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2006, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in his 64th year of life.
Footie was born in Keyser, WV, the son of the late James and Blanch Foote, was raised in Lonacony, MD, and has made Delaware City his home for the past 24 years, where he was a longtime and faithful member of Christ Episcopal Church of Delaware City. Footie had quite an extensive record of government service. He served his country proudly as a member of the U.S. Navy for 3 years where he served aboard the USS Randolph and he participated in the retrieval of Astronaut John Glenn and the Cuban Missile Crisis. He then served in the U.S. Army for 4 years, served in Government Service for 7 years, and the Delaware Army National Guard. In civilian life Footie worked as a chemical operator and relief operator for Stauffer Chemicals and then Formosa Chemicals until retiring in May 1, 2001. He was a member of VFW Post in Port Penn and Lonacony, MD, Delaware City Recreation Club where he used to look forward to their "turkey shoots", and the Stauffer Chemical Softball team. Footie was a family man who loved and cared for his family.
He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 28 years, Cecilia A. Foote; son, Nicholas C. Foote and his wife, Edna, of Mobile, AL; daughters, Rosemarie Ellis and her husband, Michael, of Delaware City, DE, Amilia Diane Burley of Delaware City, DE and Julie Hill of Elkton, MD; brothers, Elden Foote of Inwood, WV, John Foote, Walter Foote and Warren Foote, all of Lonacony, MD; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Footie was predeceased by his son, Thomas C. Burley, in 1978; his sister, Patty Kyle; and brother, James Foote.
Family and friends are invited to Footie's Life Celebration and viewing on Sunday, August 13, 2006, from 7-9 pm at BEESON FUNERAL HOME OF NEWARK, 2053 Pulaski Highway, Fox Run, and again on Monday, August 14, 2006, from 9-10 am. His funeral service will be at the funeral home at 10 am with interment in Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery, Bear, with military honors.
