Thomas A. Conte, age 62, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2006, at Frankford Hospital Torresdale, in Philadelphia, PA.

Born in Chester, PA, he was a resident of Bensalem, PA for 20 years, formerly of Wilmington, DE. He was a salesman for Stroehman Bread for 25 years and a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Beloved husband of Donna-Lee (Di Toro) Conte. Loving son of Thomas S. Conte, of Wilmington DE, and the late Pauline Conte. Devoted father of Thomas J. Conte, of Doylestown, PA, and Gina M. Sullivan (Daniel), of Bensalem, PA. Also survived by 3 grandchildren, Daniel, Natalie and Brendan.

Relatives and friends may call from 9:30-10:30 am on Monday, August 21, at St. Ephrem RC Church, 5400 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem, PA, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Resurrection cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1 Reed St., Suite 200, Philadelphia, PA 19147.

Helen L. Hoffman

Mrs. Helen L. Hoffman, age 73, died at her home in Fair Hill, MD on Friday, August 18, 2006.

Helen is survived by her 3 sons, Mark R.T. "Dutch" Hoffman of Fair Hill, MD, Matthew S. Hoffman and wife, Terry, of Newark, DE and Robert J.S. Hoffman and wife, Krista, of Fair Hill, MD; and grandson, Ethan Hoffman of Newark, DE.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 26, 2006, at Calvary Baptist Church, 215 E. Delaware Avenue, Newark, DE, 19711, where friends may call after 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.

Elizabeth Moyer "Betty"

Born on August 19, 1915 in Norristown, PA to the late J. Roy and Elizabeth Madaline (Crocker) Moyer, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2006, at the Willard Care Center at the age of 90.

She graduated from Wilmington High. Betty was baptized in 1927 and became a member of the Wilmington Church of the Brethren in 1929. She held numerous positions within the Wilmington congregation such as a being a deacon for 28 years, a choir member, financial secretary and on the church board including chairperson. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers. She is survived by her loving family of friends, Maynard and Joan Dill of Englewood, FL, Lorraine Dill and her husband, Richard Pidwell, and their daughters, Annie and Carrie Dill, all of Willard, MO; niece, Shirley Mason and her husband, Jack; several nieces, nephews and numerous other loving friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2006, at the Church of the Brethren at 1 pm. There will be a private interment.

The family suggests contributions to the Wilmington Church of the Brethren, 27 Belmont Avenue, Wilmington, DE 19805.

Justin Clay Smith

Age 20 of Elkton, MD died August 16, 2006 at Union Hospital, Elkton, MD. A service will be held at 1 pm on Monday, August 21, at GEE FUNERAL HOME, 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD, where friends may call after 11:30 am.

Nelson Beebe Jr.,

Age 83, former principal at Pennsville Memorial High School in Pennsville, NJ died at home Wednesday morning August 23, 2006 following a lengthy illness.

He was a resident for the last 21 years in Hopewell Township, Cumberland County, N.J.

He was the husband of Pauline A. (nee Scheckenbach) Beebe too whom he had been married for 59 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Francis N. "Fran" Beebe and his wife, Michele (nee Brigance) of Superstition Mountain, AZ and Frederick D. "Fred" Beebe and his wife, Grace (nee Roth) of Wilmington, DE, 6 grandchildren, Christian and Laura Beebe of Cincinnati, OH, Julie Beebe of Dayton, OH, Kim Beebe of New Castle, DE, Lynda Stanley of Wilmington, DE, and Paige Beebe of Wilmington, DE. Nelson is also survived by his 3 sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will originate Monday morning August 28th at 9 AM at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton, NJ and will be followed by a 10 AM. Funeral Liturgy at the St. Teresa of Avila R.C. Church 46 Central Avenue, Bridgeton, NJ. The interment will take place at St. Mary's cemetery in Bridgeton. Friends will be received at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6-8 PM.

Memorial contributions are suggested in Mr. Beebe's memory to the St. Teresa of Avila R.C. Church, 46 Central Ave., Bridgeton, N.J. 08302.

Ralph Bowden

Age 63 of Ellendale, DE, formerly of Milton, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at home. Services will be private, Arrangements SHORT FUNERAL SERVICES, Milton, DE.

Angelina E. Collins

Angelina E. Collins, of Dover, DE, loving mother and grandmother, died August 16, 2006, in Green Valley Terrace Nursing Home, in Millsboro, DE. Anne will be reunited with her husband, Gerden Collins, who died in 1996, at God's side. She was a longtime resident of Dover, and actively involved in community service through the Dover Air Force Base NCO Wives' Club and Thrift Shop. For many years, she was a substitute teacher in the Dover school system.

Anne is survived by 3 children, Claire Collins, of Hot Springs, VA, Dr. Paul Collins, of Millsboro, DE, and John Collins, of Ellicott City, MD; 7 grandchildren; her brother, Joseph Cantera, of Boston, MA; and her sister, Dr. Claire Hawkes, of Santa Clara, CA.

Visitation will be at 10 am on Monday, August 28, followed by the funeral service at 11 am, at the TRADER FUNERAL HOME, 12 Lotus St., Dover. Burial will be at 2 pm in the Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery, in Bear.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society, 92 Read's Way, Suite 205 New Castle, DE 19720.

Gregory Allen Duker

Age 44, of Newark, DE, died on Thursday, August 17, 2006, at Christiana Hospital.

Greg was the son of Doris D. Smith and the late James E. Duker. He attended the Appoquini-mink School District. He was employed at Knotts Bus Company. He was a devoted and dedicated member of Christiana Fire Company for 28 years.

Greg leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Amber; son, Ryan; a devoted companion, Lorie Williams; sisters, Sherry Watson (Chris, Sr.), and Tracey Duker; 6 stepbrothers and sisters; his step children, Joseph and Summer Brockway; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah A. Hynson.

There will be a viewing from 10-12 noon on Saturday, August 26, 2006, at Red Lion UM Church, 1545 Church Rd., Bear, followed by the funeral service at 12 noon. Interment will be in St. Paul's Church cemetery, Kirkwood, DE.

Robert A. Gorski, PhD
Retired DuPont Chemist

Age 83, of Newark, DE, died on Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at Christiana Hospital after a long and happy family and professional life.

Dr. Gorski was born in Passaic, NJ on November 24, 1922, son of the late Stephen T. Gorski and Wanda Amlicke Gorski. He earned his BA in science from LaSalle College, and later received both his MS and PhD in physical chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania. While a graduate student at Penn, he taught chemistry and laboratory methods at LaSalle. When World War II interrupted his studies, Dr. Gorski served in the US Army in Europe with the 14th Amored Division under General Patton. He earned the Purple Heart and 2 Bronze Stars.

After graduation, Dr. Gorski worked at the DuPont Company's Chambers Works site and later at the "Freon" products lab at the Chestnut Run site. One of his most interesting assignments was collaborating with NASA on the Lunar Module.

During his career, he was named in 17 US patents. Dr. Gorski was a member of many professional organizations including the ACS, NFPA, ASTM, the National Geographic Society, and the Sigma Xi Society. He also served as a reviewer for the National Academy of Sciences' Fire Research publi-cation.

When transferred to Chestnut Run, Dr. Gorski moved to Newark and joined St. John's-Holy Angels parish. He was a member of the finance committee, the parish council, and the athletic committee, and also served as a lector, cantor and eucharistic minister. He was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis and was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus St. Michael's Council, where he was both the Grand Knight and District Deputy. He was also a Fourth Degree Knight with the Archbishop FitzMaurice Assembly. Following his retirement, Dr. Gorski became a member of Holy Family parish.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Helen M. Thompson Gorski; daughter, Sister Maria Charitas, formerly Mary Ann, of the Poor Clares, of Roswell, NM; 4 sons, Robert, and his wife, Donna, of Cincinnati, OH, Mark, and his wife, Mary, of Midland, TX, Stephen, and his wife, Nicole, of Abington, MD, and Paul, and his wife, Beth, of Atlanta, GA; and 10 grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6-8 pm on Sunday, August 27, 2006, at the SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 121 W. Park Place, Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 am on Monday, August 28, 2006, at Holy Family RC Church, E. Chestnut Hill and Gender Roads, Newark. Interment will follow in All Saints cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Holy Family RC Church, 15 Gender Road, Newark, DE 19713.
