Jeannette H. McCabe

Age 85, of Frankford, DE, died June 14, 2006, at the Beebe Medical Center, in Lewes. Visitation begins 12 noon and funeral 1 pm on Friday, June 16, at MELSON FUNERAL SERVICES, Thatcher St., Frankford.

Vincent P. Ramski "Vinnie"

Mr. Vincent P. "Vinnie" Ramski, age 47, of Wilmington, DE, died suddenly on Monday, June 12, 2006, at St. Francis Hos-pital.

Born July 31, 1958 in Wilmington, Mr. Ramski was employed for many years as a professional cook. He greatly enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and collecting all types of interesting items. Mr. Ramski will be lovingly remembered by family and friends as a kind and compassionate person, who spent much of his time helping to care for others.

He was preceded in death by his father, Watson T. Ramski, Sr.; twin brother, John Ramski; and sister, Vicky Reardon. He is survived by his mother, Helen F. (Tatera) Ramski, of Wilmington; 2 brothers, Stanley Ramski and Ted Ramski, both of New Castle; 2 sisters, Helen Wilson, of Bear, and Tessie Reardon, of Concord, CA; and nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.

Hertha G. Dill

Age 92 of Viola, DE, died Saturday, July 8, 2006, at home. Service 7 pm on Tuesday, July 11, at PIPPIN FUNERAL HOME, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE, where friends may call from 5 pm until service time.

Carroll Louis Fischel

Age 81, of Wilmington, DE, died Friday, July 7, 2006.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, he had served as a radio gunner on a B-17 in Europe during World War II, was a 1949 graduate of the University of Delaware, retired from the automotive department of Sears in 1986 after 28 years, was an avid reader, and Phillies fan.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred; sons, Jared, Brian (Helen), and Richard; brother, Irwin; and grandchildren, Gary, Lisa, Rachel, Jason, and Matthew.

A graveside service will be 11 am, Monday, July 10, 2006, in the Jewish Community cemetery on Foulk Rd. Shiva will be observed 7 pm, Monday, Tuesday, July 11, 2006, and Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at 2408 W. Parris Drive, Cedar Crest.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to either Cong. Beth Emeth, 300 W. Lea Blvd., Wilmington, DE 19802; or to your favorite charity.

Charles Monroe Garrett

Mr. Charles Monroe Garrett, age 80, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 6, 2006, at Millcroft, following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease and diabetes.

Mr. Garrett was born in Rockingham, NC, on February 9, 1926, son of the late Daniel Gentry Garrett and Susie Barefoot Garrett. A teacher by profession, he began his career in the public schools of North Carolina. After moving his family to Newark, Mr. Garrett accepted a teaching position in the Newark School District. He would later work as a tape librarian at the University of Delaware until his retirement. A gifted singer and musician, Mr. Garrett enjoyed all types of music. He performed in musical groups in both NC and DE, including the Wilmington Madrigal Singers, the Newark Chorale, and local church choirs. He was a longtime member of the Newark United Methodist Church, where he was active in the United Methodist Men, sang with the Chancel Choir, and taught Sunday School for many years. Mr. Garrett was a member and past president of AARP Chapter #3517 in Newark and assisted with make-up and productions for the Chapel Street Players, also in Newark.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Marietta Jolliff Garrett; daughter, Tammy Rash of Newark, DE; son, Joel J. Garrett and wife, Kelley, of Newark, DE; sister, Annie Mae Knight of Reidsville, NC; 3 grandchildren, Benjamin Garrett, Amanda Rash and Danielle Rash; and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at the Newark United Methodist Church, 69 E. Main Street, Newark, DE 19711.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Newark United Methodist Church; or the American Parkinson Disease Association, 332 Gerard Avenue, Elkins Park, PA 19027.

Judy A. Gebhart

Of Newark, DE, passed away at her home on Friday, July 7, 2006.

Judy is survived by her husband, Edward J. Gebhart; her sons, Kenneth J. Bailey (Sheila McGuigan), and Shawn M. Bailey and his wife, Rita; her sisters, Donna Sheppard and Carolyn Saltsman; her brother, William Group; her sisters-in-law, Pat Galloway, Kathleen Gebhart and Karen Gebhart; her brother-in-law, John Gebhart; 6 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek, on Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at 5:30 pm, where friends may visit after 3:30 pm. Burial will be held privately with her family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Judy may be sent to the Hockessin Fire Company, 1225 Old Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707; or to Delaware Hospice, Inc., 3515 Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE 19810.

John Gary Hollingshaus

Mr. John Gary Hollingshaus, age 57, of Wilmington, DE, died of cancer on Friday, July 7, 2006, at his home.

Mr. Hollingshaus was born in Salt Lake City, UT on December 2, 1948. A research scientist, he had been employed with the DuPont Company for 20 years. Mr. Hollingshaus was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served as president of the Wilmington (DE) Stake.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patricia Ann Harward Hollingshaus; his father and stepmother, John and Janice Hollingshaus of Salt Lake City, UT; 8 children, Stacey Chipman (Gregory) of Cleveland, OH, Heather Darrow (Michael) of Filer, ID, Heidi Hawkins (Sean) of Allen, TX, Becky Hollingshaus of Salt Lake City, UT, John Brian Hollingshaus of Wilmington, DE, Meghan Hollingshaus of Provo, UT, Erin Hollingshaus and Ashley Hollingshaus, both at home; 4 sisters; 3 brothers; and 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Hollingshaus; and a daughter, Robyn Hollingshaus.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Monday, July 10, 2006, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 500 W. Chestnut Hill Road, Newark. Interment will be in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, Salt Lake City, UT.

Walter Scott "Wally" Johnson

Age 82 died Thursday, July 6, 2006, at Heartland Hospice House in Pike Creek.

Wally was born in Ironwood, MI on March 16, 1924, the son of the late Albin and Catherine Scott Johnson. From 1942-1946 he served his country proudly during WWII as a Tech Sergeant in the United States Army where he received several metals of valor. Mr. Johnson was the owner-operator of the Penrose Restaurant, Bar and Package Store at 42nd and Market Streets since 1957. Wally enjoyed talking and meeting people, bowling, and especially golfing with his buddies. He was an avid sports fan going to all of his children's games, and was himself an outstanding athlete at Ironwood High School. He was a lifetime member of Hall Burk VFW in Holly Oak and a member of the Elks Club.

Besides his parents, Mr. Johnson was predeceased by a brother, Robert; and a sister, Marjorie Winn. He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Lorraine Bradley-Johnson; and 5 children, Walter S. Johnson, Jr., Miles F. Johnson, Cary P. Johnson, Christopher W. Johnson and Victoria T. Boyer. Survivors also include his brother, Gerald Johnson; his sister, C. Joyce Vitiello; 7 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wally is also survived by his sister-in-law, Margaret Mary Babin and her children, Kathleen and Emily.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at 11 am at Saint Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Concord Pike and Sharpley Road. Relatives and

friends may call on Tuesday before the Mass from 9-10:30 am at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 3924 Concord Pike, Talleyville, Route 202 , South of Silverside Road. Entombment will be in Cathedral cemetery.

Contributions may be made in Mr. Johnson's memory to St. Labre Indian School, PO Box 77, Ashland MT 59003-0590; Heartland Hospice House, 5661 Ochletree Lane, Wilmington, DE 19808; Heartland Home Care, 267 East Main St., Newark, DE 19711; or the Helen F Graham Cancer Center, c/o Christians Care Foundation, PO Box 1668, Wilmington, DE 19899.

Phyllis A. Kuk

Age 59 of Laurel, DE, died Friday, July 7, 2006, at The Select Specialty Hospital of Wilmington, DE.

She was born in Salisbury, MD to the late Albert T. Brittingham and Bernice Seely Brittingham of Laurel, DE. She retired from the United State Air Force after more then 20 years of service. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Laurel, DE.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by 2 sisters, Cindy Eskridge of Mardela Springs, MD and Alberta Lee Brittingham of Wilmington, DE; a brother, Fredrick Brittingham of Queen Creek, AZ; 1 aunt, Elma Smith of FL; several nieces and nephews; and grand nieces and nephews. Numerous cousins also survive her.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at 11 am at the HANNIGAN- SHORT- DISHAROON FUNERAL HOME, 700 West St., Laurel, DE 19956. A private burial will be in Laurel Hill cemetery Laurel, DE.

Carol Jo Lambert

Age 54, of Elkton, MD, died on Thursday, July 6, 2006, in Elkton.

Born March 23, 1952 in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of Anna M. (Testa) Trincia, of Wilmington, and the late James A. Trincia. Mrs. Lambert was a member of the Glorious Presence Church, in Elkton, and active with youth ministry for 31 years. She was also employed by them as a secretary. She enjoyed horseback riding, quilting, gardening and scrapbooking, and was an excellent pianist. Carol Jo was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Theodore "Ted" Lambert, III; 2 sons, Theodore Lambert, IV, and his wife, Christie, of Elkton, and Benjamin Lambert, and his wife, Sarah, and their son, Naaman, of Philadelphia, PA; 1 daughter, Melody A. Leins, and her husband, Christopher, of Wilmington, DE; and 1 brother, Vincent Trincia, of NC.

Visitation will be held from 7-9 pm on Monday, July 10, at the Glorious Presence Church, 1552 Singerly Rd., Elkton, MD 21921. Rev. Curtis E. Leins and Rev. Robert McKnight will conduct the funeral service at 11 am on Tuesday, July 11, at the church, where family and friends may call from 10-11 am. Interment will be in North East Methodist cemetery, in North East.

Memorial contributions may be made to the youth ministry, c/o the church.
