Paul V. LePore, Sr.
Age 75, of Newark, DE, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2006, at the Christiana Hospital.
Paul had been the owner and operator of Paul LePore and Sons Plastering Co. for 45 years. He trained many apprentices over the years that later went on to open their own businesses. Paul graduated from Kennett Square High School and was a member of the Delaware Army National Guard in the 1950s. He was a member of the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce. Paul enjoyed sports, especially watching his grandsons and granddaughter play baseball. Paul will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He had a positive influence on everyone he encountered, especially his grandchildren.
His was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice LePore; and his brother, Nicholas LePore. Paul is survived by his children, Paul LePore, Jr and his wife, Lynne, Joyce Holland and her husband, George, Michael LePore and his wife, Cheryl, Daniel LePore and Ronald LePore; his brother, Pat LePore; his sisters, Mary Woytko and her husband, Leo, Louise Miller, Theresa Skelton, Jeannie Mancino and her husband, Butch, and Rose Marie Cook; 18 grandchildren; and 1 great granddaughter.
Friends may call on Monday, July 10, from 6-8 pm at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Kirkwood Hwy. and Duncan Rd. Services and burial will be private.

Marco McDaniels "Kenny"
Age 60, of Wilmington, DE, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, July 7, 2006.
Kenny was born in Rome, Italy and came to the United States as an infant. He had been a self employed landscaper. Kenny was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alberta McDaniels; and his father, Kenneth McDaniels. Kenny is survived by his mother, Conchetta McDaniels; his son, Jeffrey McDaniels; his brother, John F. McDaniels; his sisters, Rita Weaver, Marilyn McDaniels and Joann McDaniels-Quillen and her husband, Michael; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Kirkwood Highway and Duncan Road, where a service will be held at 8 pm. Burial will be private.
Genevieve F. Murphy (Foote)
Age 89, of Lewes, DE, died Friday, July 7, 2006, at Harbor Healthcare & Rehab. Center in Lewes, DE.
Mrs. Murphy was born in New London, PA, daughter of the late Thomas Dixon Foote and Mary Katherine (Bush) Foote. She had been employed as a cafeteria worker for the Unionville, PA Consolidated School District. She was a member of the Henlopen Grange-#20, the Pomona Grange-#3, the Delaware State Grange, Eastern Star Chapter #9, Georgetown DE, and the Lewes Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Church Circle and the Kelly Class.
Mrs. Murphy is survived by a son, William Thomas Murphy and his wife, Anna, of Cochranville, PA; a sister, Margaret "Peggy" Ann Williams of Elkton, MD; granddaughter, Tami Murphy Byerly and husband, Brian, of East Fallowfield, PA; granddaughter, Kathi Murphy Knoor and husband, Kevin, of Ephrata, PA; great granddaughter, Rachel Byerly of East Fallowfield, PA; and a step great grandson, Keith Knoor. She was predeceased by her husband, Wilmer M. Murphy, in 1998; and 2 sisters, G. Eleanor McWilliams and Virginia Foote.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at 2 pm at PARSELL FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATORIUM, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may call 1 hour prior to the service. Rev. Harry Hughes and Rev. John Ferguson will officiate. A viewing will also be held on Tuesday evening, July 11, 2006, from 7-9 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Lewes Presbyterian cemetery, Kings Highway, Lewes, DE.

Marie Frances Pullella
Marie Frances Pullella, age 70, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2006, at the Christiana Hospital.
She was born on January 16, 1936 to her late parents Francis and Mary Manning of Lansford, PA. From 1959-1960 she was the first woman lay teacher at Marian Catholic High School, Hometown, PA, teaching English History and Latin. On August 27, 1960 she married
Lee A. Pullella of Wilmington, DE and moved to Dover, DE. While in Dover, Mrs. Pullella was employed with the Child Welfare Services from 1963-1967. After moving to Wilmington, DE, Mrs. Pullella was employed by the Division Of Family Services from 1983-2000. In 2000 Mrs. Pullella worked part-time for the Office Of The Child Advocate and retired in 2003. She was a volunteer Creative Mentor at the Skyline Middle School during the 2003-2004 school year. Fran will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
Marie Frances was predeceased by her husband, Lee A. Pullella; and daughter, Clara Mary Kwiatkowski. She is survived by 2 sons, Lee, of Peach Bottom, PA and Francis, of Wilmington, DE; and sister, Anne Marie (Nancy) Kaufman, of Tamaqua, PA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at 11 am at St. Mary's of the Assumption Church on Lancaster Pike in Hockessin, where friends are invited to visit with Marie Frances' family from 10-11 am.

Marlette Alexander Plum Petze Sawyer "Mimi"
Marlette Alexander Plum Petze "Mimi" Sawyer, age 91, departed this life June 26, 2006 in Glen Allen, VA.
Mimi was an honors graduate of Swarthmore College (1937), where she was known for her intellect, wit, charm, and easy laugh; she earned an MA in English (1962), and an MEd in Education (1965) from the University of Delaware. Mimi was baptized and confirmed in the Episcopal Church. She and Charles Petze joined the Society of Friends, Quakers; and she was an active member of Wilmington Friends Meeting, and later Third Haven Friends Meeting. She was a woman of integrity, a brilliant academician, gifted teacher and mentor to other teachers, and accomplished gardener, musician and bridge player. She rarely lost a game of scrabble. She retired in 1976 from the William Penn High School, in New Castle, DE, where she taught English and humanities. She volunteered for her church, local museums, and several community organizations. She traveled extensively in her later years, touring China, the Middle East, Europe and Japan. She nursed her mother and mother-in-law, as well as both of her husbands, through their final illnesses. She believed the two most important things in life are love and one's family. She loved her family deeply. She strove to honor her family and friends, her faith and her community. She never lost her smile, laughter, or joy in others, even as she neared the end of her life. She will be greatly missed.
Marlette was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles L. Petze, Jr.; and also by her second husband, Guy E. Sawyer. She is survived by her sons, Charles L. Petze, III, and his wife, Mary, Frederic W. Petze, and his wife, Sally, and John E. Petze; and her daughter, Christine Petze Charbonneau, and her husband, David; 6 grandchildren, Alexandra, Katherine, and her husband, Jeremy, Lara, Jana, and her husband, Arne, Derek and Dylan; 4 stepgrandchildren, Emily, Sarah, and her husband, Matt, Patricia, and David, and his wife, Melissa; 6 great grandchildren, Sophie, Jonah, Nicholas, Dillon, Jack and Rachel; 2 former daughters-in-law, JoAnn and Shannon; her beloved brother, Dr. Fred Plum, and his wife, Susan; 2 nephews, Christopher Plum, and his wife, Bridgette, and Michael Plum; and 1 niece, Carol Plum.
A celebration of her life will be scheduled later this sum-mer.

Robert R. Shaw, Sr. "Bob"
Mr. Robert "Bob" Shaw, Sr., age 74 of Hockessin, DE, passed away peacefully at his home due to complications of cancer on Friday evening, July 7, 2006. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born in Cincinnati, OH on October 2, 1931, son of the late Edwin and Ann (Terhune) Shaw. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he served our country during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged. In 1969, Bob founded Brandywine Graphics in Elsmere and proudly worked in the business for 37 years. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, the American Legion and the DMIA in Alexandria, VA. Bob was an avid fisherman and loved spending time at his beach home in Lewes, DE. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking, NASCAR, traveling to many destinations around the world and trips to Atlantic City, NJ. His greatest pleasure was being with his family, especially his grandchildren who were the center of his life.
Bob was a devoted husband to his wife of 53 years, Aida G. (Degli Obizzi) Shaw; a loving father to his children, Sandy Sneeringer and her husband, Earl, Robert Shaw, Jr. and his wife, Michele, Michele Lennon and her husband, Matthew, Jr. and Craig Shaw and his wife, Wendy; and an adoring grandfather to his grandchildren, Stephanie, Austin, Greg, Bobby, III, Nicole, Jeremy, Vinnie, Nicholas, Amanda, Samantha, Matthew, Craig, Jr., Candice and Michael. He was predeceased by his sister, Betty LaVallee.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, on Tuesday afternoon, July 11, at 1:30 pm. Entombment will follow in All Saints cemetery. Family and friends may call at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek, on Monday evening, July 10, from 6-8 pm.

She leaves to cherish her memory, Jacqueline Hawkes (Leonard), Raymond and Paula Stevens; grandchildren; nieces; and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; 3 children; and 5 siblings.

John Brockway Thompson
John Brockway Thompson, age 85 of Wilmington, DE, passed away suddenly Thursday, July 6, 2006.
Born October 1, 1920 in Lincoln, NE to the late John Morrison Thompson and Ethel Brockway Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a graduate of Lincoln High School and the University of Nebraska. With degrees in chemistry and engineering from the University of Nebraska, he joined the DuPont Company in 1951, where he pursued a variety of research interests in several departments of the company until his retirement in 1985. He was granted several patents and published many technical papers. He was a member of several professional, honorary, and musical societies. He served in the Army in World War II for a total of 5 years in various units, completing his service with the 80th Mortar Battalion in the central Philippine Islands.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Lucille Thompson, who died in 2005. He is survived by his daughter, Janice Rohrbough of Wilmington; his son, Roger Thompson and his wife, Mary, of Odessa; 3 granddaughters, Jamie, Dana and Selby; and 1 great-granddaughter, Leah.
Funeral services will be private.
