Phyllis Beatrice Casson Thompson
Mrs. Phyllis Beatrice Casson Thompson departed this life on Saturday, June 17, 2006, in Savannah, GA, after a long illness from scleroderma.
Phyllis was born in Dover, DE on June 7, 1930 to Nancy Ingram Casson (later Perry) and Clarence Roosevelt Casson, Sr. She was raised in Dover, where she attended Booker T. Washington School. Later she moved to Philadelphia, PA, where she was a longtime resident. She was a teaching assistant for 25 years at the Morton McMichael Elementary School. While in Philadelphia she became a member of the Episcopal Church of Saint Andrew and Saint Monica, and also attended Holy Apostles Episcopal Church. She relocated to Savannah in 1994 where her daughters, Cynthia Osborne and Patricia Garrett, now also reside.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clarence R. Casson, Jr., and Floyd S. Casson. She leaves to mourn her passing her sons, Louis Shockley, William Bishop and Richard Smith; daughters, Cynthia Osborne, Patricia Garrett, Susan Kemp, and Connie Brown; daughters-in-law and sons-in-law, Bobbie Shockley, John Osborne, Eunice Smith and William Garrett; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Paul Charles Casson, Canon Lloyd Stuart Casson, and Norman Howard Casson, as well as sisters-in-law, Ida Casson, Shirley Casson and Yvonne Casson; and finally, a host of cousins and friends, all of whom are also mourning her passing into eternity.
The funeral service and interment will be held on Friday, June 30, at 10 am at the Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew, 8th and Shipley Streets, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the National Scleroderma Foundation, 12 Kent Way, Suite 101, Byfield, MA 01922.
Cristina Annamaria Smith
Mrs. Cristina Annamaria (Missionario) Smith had a wonderful life, which sadly came to an end on Tuesday, June 27, 2006, in the presence of her loving husband and her close family at her daughter's home in Newark, DE.
Cris was born in Avellino, Italy on March 15, 1950. She moved with her parents to the United States in 1953. They spent a few years in Paterson, NJ, before they settled in New Castle. She graduated from William Penn High School in 1967. She married
in 1968 and immediately began her family. Cris was remarried
to Henry L. Smith, Jr. 13 years later. Cris was naturalized as an American citizen in 1985. She graduated magna cum laude from Goldey-Beacom College in April 2003 with a bachelor of science degree in marketing while working full time for the DuPont Company for 21 years. She was a customer service representative with DTT in Wilmington. Cris and Henry loved traveling and had seen a great deal of the world together. One of their more recent endeavors was the purchase of their farm and completion of their dream home in Harrington. Cris will be missed by other family members and many, many friends. Our hearts break with our loss. Her family and friends brought her much comfort in her final days.
Cris was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Bolognese Missionario, previously of Avellino, Italy, and Joseph Missionario, previously of New Castle. She is survived by her husband of more than 24 years, Henry L. Smith, Jr.; 2 brothers, Robert Missionario and wife, Anna, of Newark, DE and Joseph Missionario and wife, Rita, of Avellino, Italy; children, Cynthia D. Vadden and husband, Thomas E., Jr., of Newark, DE, Sandra L. Calderhead and husband, William G., of Wilmington, DE, Beverly A. Wilkinson of Newark, DE, Scott L. Smith and wife, Marilyn, of Bear, DE, Philip H. Smith and wife, Michelle, of Middletown, DE, Mark A. Smith and significant other, Jessica Cloud, of Woodland, PA and Clifford H. Smith of Townsend, DE; 13 grandchildren, Scott Smith, Jr., Amanda Smith, Cristina Calderhead, Stephanie Smith, Derrick Smith, Emily Burge, Hailey Smith, Kyrie Calderhead, Katharine Vadden, Carley Smith, Jacob Smith, Thomas Vadden, III and Jocelyn Smith; and 3 nieces, Lori and Mary Missionario and Manuela Missionario.
Friends may call 6-8 pm on Thursday, June 29, 2006, at the SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 121 W. Park Place, Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 am on Friday, June 30, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, 345 Bear-Christiana Road, Bear. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Parkway, New Castle.

Evelyn Prescott Sills
Of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 27, 2006, after a long illness.
She was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Ezra and Marie Prescott and moved to Wilmington, DE in 1959, when her husband accepted a position with the Family Court of Delaware. Known to all as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband of 51 years, former Wilmington Mayor, The Honorable James H. Sills, Jr.; 2 sons, James III (and wife, Launice) and Mark; a daughter, Julie; 4 grandchildren, Jaunice, Lauren and Kristin; a sister, Virginia Graves; a brother, LaBron Prescott (and wife, Catherine), all of Atlanta, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews. Throughout her life, Evelyn was a tireless volunteer in the Wilmington community, where she served on various local and national non-profit boards, including the NAACP, YWCA, the Speer Trust Commission, the Layton Home for the Aged, and The Links Incorporated. For the past 45 years she has been a member and Elder of the Presbyterian Church of Our Savior. Evelyn lived a very full and blessed life, and her love of people touched many lives in the local community. In later years, she was a strong advocate for children and the homeless, hosting monthly birthday parties for residents of Sojourner's Place. She especially enjoyed helping others through her role as Wilmington's "First Lady".
Family and friends are invited to attend the celebration of Evelyn's life on Monday, July 3, 2006, at 11 am at Community Presbyterian Church, 519 Rogers Rd., Wilmington, DE, where her viewing will be from 9-11 am only. Interment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park.

Homer Bame Shull
passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, June 24, 2006, in his apartment at Sunrise Assisted Living of Wilmington, Delaware. He was 98 and ½ years young.
Mr. Shull was a every special man who seemed to bring out the best in all who knew him. He was born in Finlay, Ohio. His parents were Luren V. Shull and E. Gertrude Bame Shull. He had four sisters, only one has survived him, Donna M. Wells of Canal Winchester, Ohio. He spent most of his professional life working for the DuPont company.
Mr. Shull requested a private interment in Westminster, Maryland, the home of his wife, Anne, whom he adored, and passed away in 1994. Their only child, Hadley, died in an accident while in graduate school in 1964. Mr. Shull will be interned with his wife and son in the Handley family plot.
Mr. Shull loved and was much loved by another family. He was a father to the husband and wife, a wonderful grandfather to their two daughters and a perfect great-grandfather. For almost 30 years it was a golden relationship for all.
A memorial service open to all will be held on Monday. July 10, 2006, at 1:00 pm at Sunrise Assisted Living of Wilmington, 2215 Shipley Road, Wilmington DE 19803 Phone: 302-475-9163.

Age 63, of Newark, DE, formerly of Phoenixville, PA, died June 25, 2006, at Christiana Hospital, in Newark.

James Bimbi will officiate, and burial will be in Sacred Heart cemetery, in Phoenixville, PA.

Sally A. Schoenleber
Mrs. Sally A. Schoenleber, age 59 of Wilmington, DE, passed away suddenly at her home on Tuesday, June 27, 2006.
Sally was born in Somers Point, NJ on September 6, 1946, daughter of the late Howard and Lillian (Edwards) Seiver. A resident of Danbury, CT for many years, she and her husband relocated to Wilmington in 1996. Sally was employed as an Assistant Vice President with Citibank Corporation and retired in 2005. Her greatest pleasure was being with her family, especially her grandchildren and loved having everyone at her home. She was an avid tennis player and a member of the United States Tennis Association. In keeping with her generous and caring spirit, Sally volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and the Special Olympics. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and woodworking with her husband. She touched many lives and was loved by everyone who had the privilege to know her.
A loving and devoted wife, mother, grammy, sister and aunt, Sally will be dearly missed by her husband of 41 years, Raymond A. Schoenleber; her children, Michael R. Schoenleber and his girlfriend, Shari L. Brenan, and Kimberly G. Rogers and her husband, Lenny; her grandchildren, Michael, Daniel and Brian Rogers; her sisters, Marilyn S. Hamilton and her husband, Robert J., and Heather A. Seiver; her nephews, Robert J. Hamilton, Jr. and his wife, Susanne, and Leon D. Wescoat and his fiancée, Karen Browne; and her nieces, Sandra H. Maddox and her husband, James, and Lauren D. Nelson and her husband, Matt. Sally also leaves several great nieces and great nephews to cherish her memory.
The funeral service will be held at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek, on Saturday morning, July 1, at 10 am. Interment will follow in All Saints cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening, June 30, from 6-9 pm.

Christopher Sargent, son of Paul D. and Stephanie M. Sargent, Jr., passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2006.
In addition to his parents, CJ is survived by his brother, Nicholas; and a sister, Ella. Also surviving are his loving grandparents, Stanley F. and Janice M. Zgleszewski, and Paul D. and Betty Jane Sargent, Sr.; and aunts, Karen Zgleszewski and Anne Marie Sargent, all of Wilmington, DE.

John M. Roberts
Mr. John M. Roberts, age 51, of Newark, DE, died on Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Christiana Hospital.
Born in Akron, OH, on October 27, 1954, Mr. Roberts was the son of the late Perry W. Roberts, Sr. and Doris G. Reynolds Roberts. He worked as a private investor for many years. Mr. Roberts enjoyed automobiles and reading.
He is survived by a brother, Perry W. Roberts, Jr. of Portola Valley, CA; and a sister, Pamela R. Townsend of Jacksonville, NC.
Friends may call from 1:30-2 pm on Friday, June 30, 2006, at the SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 121 W. Park Place, Newark.
A committal service will follow at 2:30 pm in All Saints cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington.
