Theodore W. Modi

Of Wilmington, DE, passed away Monday, June 26, 2006, at Christiana Hospital after a brief illness. He was 83 years old.

He was the son of William and Nazeera Hitti Modi. Ted was born in Mannington, WV, moved to Niagara Falls, NY, and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. He served his country during World War II at Rhodes General Hospital in Utica, NY as an athletic instructor. He graduated from Michigan State University in 1951 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He started with the DuPont Company in 1941 and completed 43 years of service in the electrochemical and polymer products departments. He was married to Joan Rahm Modi for 56 years.

He is survived by his spouse, 4 children, Christine Straub (John) of Mesa, AZ, Bill of Escondido, CA, David (Sophia) of Rockville, MD and John (Kay) of West Chester, PA; and 7 grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday morning 9-10:30 am at CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE.

Mass will follow at the Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans' Road, Wilmington, DE 19810.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to St. Clare Van, c/o St. Francis Hospital, 7th and Clayton Sts., Wilmington, DE 19805; the Church of the Holy Child; or a charity of your choice.

Patricia Ann Medkeff (McGough)

Patricia Medkeff, age 65, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, died at her home in Bear, DE on Tuesday, June 27, 2006, with her family by her side. She fought a long and difficult battle with cancer, which she faced with great courage, humor and strength.

Patty was born January 24, 1941 in Wilmington, DE to the late William B. McGough and Anne L. (Wilde). She attended elementary school at St. Peter's and St. Thomas in the city. Patty was a very proud member of the first graduating class of Padua Academy, in Wilmington, where she earned her diploma in 1958. Afterwards, Patty worked in sales and administration for Wilmington Dry Goods, Ogden-Howard Furniture, Cooper's Furniture, and Fidelity Finance. She was an administrative assistant and sales estimator for Taylor Davis/Brocker/AmeriSteel for over 30 years.

Illness forced Patty's retirement from the jobs she loved at Triton Construction in 2005, after only 1˝ years there, and Cavaliers Country Club, where she worked part-time for over 29 years. Patty's hobbies included gardening and making flower arrangements. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her dearest family and friends. Patty had a knack of making lifelong friends of everyone she met. To know her was to love her.

She is survived by her children, John L. Medkeff, Jr., and his wife, Tina A., of Glasgow, and Suzanne Lee, and her husband, Charles D., of Newport; grandchildren, Jessee C. Lee, Jaymee M. Lee, Logan J. Medkeff and Julia A. Lee; sisters, Ruth Janice Carson, and her ex-husband, David Dick, of Newport, Joann M. Woolard, and her husband, James, of Newark, Dee Swan, of Newark, Rosemary Burkins, and her husband, Lawrence, of New Castle and Georgetown, and Christine M. Czerwinski, and her husband, Dominick, of Elsmere; ex-husband, John L. Medkeff, Sr., of Bear; and dozens of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Patty's family offers their deepest thanks and appreciation to Dr. Charles Schneider, Brenda, Theresa and the rest of the wonderful staff at the Helen Graham Center, Delaware Hospice, Griswold Special Care, Triton Construction, and neighbors in the Village of Red Lion Creek.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 1900 Delaware Ave., Wilmington, on Saturday morning, July 1, 2006, at 10:30 am, where friends may call after 9 am. Entombment will be in Cathedral cemetery.

Warren "Cliff" Masscotte, Jr.

Of Boothwyn, PA, died Wednesday, June 28, 2006. Funeral Liturgy 10 am on Saturday, July 1, at PAGANO FUNERAL HOME, 3711 Foulk Rd., Boothwyn, PA, where friends may call from 9-10 am.

Ida J. Polidore Masciantonio
Of Chadds Ford, PA

Ida J. Masciantonio, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA after a courageous battle with diabetes and renal failure.

Born in Glen Mills, PA to the late Achilles and Theresa Scardapane Polidore. Ida lived in West Chester for over 65 years then resided in Chadds Ford, PA. She was a 1946 graduate of West Chester High School, having recently attended her 60th class reunion in May, which she really enjoyed. Ida worked as an usherette at the Warner Theatre in West Chester all through High School. After being married in 1949, she worked at Prudential Insurance Co. in West Chester for 4 years and then started a family. Ida enjoyed bowling and was on a bowling team for 3 years. She also enjoyed going to her summer home at the shore in Ventnor, NJ, going to casinos and traveling to Italy and Las Vegas, NV with her mother and sisters. For the past 5 years, Ida has enjoyed being "Mom-Mom" to her 2 grandchildren. She has been a active member of St. Agnes Church in West Chester, PA.

She was preceded in death in 1996 by her husband, William L. Masciantonio, Sr.; and in 2003 by her daughter, Jean A. Masciantonio. Ida is survived by her daughter, Diane M. Masciantonio and her fiancé, Michael A. Dellinger, of Pike Creek, DE; her sons, Robert W. Masciantonio and his wife, Anna, of Havertown, PA; William L. Masciantonio, Jr. of Chadds Ford, PA, whom she lived and who cared for her the past few years; granddaughter, Nicole H. Masciantonio; and grandson, Gino H. Masciantonio. Other survivors include her sisters, Elvira Donia of Coatesville, PA, JoAnn DeLiberali of Palmyra, NJ and Ann Masucci of Riverside, NJ. She will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass 10 am on Monday, July 3, 2006, at St. Agnes Church, 233 West Gay Street, West Chester, PA. Interment in St. Agnes cemetery, West Chester, PA. Visitation from 7-9 pm on Sunday, July 2, 2006, and 8:30-9:30 am on Monday at DELLAVECCHIA, REILLY, SMITH & BOYD, 410 N. Church St., West Chester, PA.

Contributions may be made to Davita Jennersville Dialysis Center, 1011 W. Baltimore Pike, West Grove, PA. 19390-9400, where Ida received excellent care.

Kevin Phillip Britt, Sr.

Age 41 of Wilmington, DE, died June 24, 2006. Service 9:30 am on Saturday, July 1, at THE HOUSE OF WRIGHT MORTUARY, 208 E. 35th St., Wilmington, where friends may call from 8-9:30 am.

Bradley S. "Steve" Cunningham

Of Marydel, MD and formerly of the New Castle area and Hockessin, DE, age 54, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2006, at Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE.

Steve had been employed for several years as an electrician. Steve held several memberships at the New Castle Moose and St. Gabriels Club in New Castle.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Cunningham; and his daughter, Tina M. Scott. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maxine F. Cunningham; his daughter, Stephanie; stepdaughter, Gwyn Martin; stepson, John Foster; granddaughters, Brittany Harrington and Kathleen Scott; stepgrandsons, Foster and Jason Martin and Ryan Foster; and stepgranddaughter, Megan Foster. He is also survived by his mother; 3 sisters; 4 brothers and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2006, at 11 am at the Gebhart Funeral Home, 531 Delaware St., New Castle, where friends may visit with the family beginning at 9:30 am. Burial will be in Hockessin Friends cemetery.

Anna Borys Dvorak

Anna Borys Dvorak, 88, of Elkton, MD, died Sunday, June 25, 2006, at Abbey Manor, Elkton.

Born on December 2, 1917 in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of Ukrainian immigrants, the late Alyk and Catherine Gera Borys. Mrs. Dvorak was a retired teacher, having taught third grade at Immaculate Conception School in Elkton for 20 years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality.

Survivors include her daughters and their spouses, Jerry and Jean Dvorak Moran, and John and Betty Dvorak Mackie, all of Elkton; her grandchildren, Michele Moran Dennis, Scott Mackie, Melissa Moran Greene, Monica Moran Yashinskie, Todd Mackie, and Meredith Moran, all of Cecil County, MD; and 12 great grandchildren. Mrs. Dvorak was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, August Dvorak; and her sister, Julianna Timko.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 noon, Saturday, July 1, 2006, at Immaculate Conception Church, Bow Street, Elkton, with interment in Immaculate Conception cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD. Visitation will begin in the church chapel at 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception School Playground Fund in care of HICKS HOME FOR FUNERALS, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD 21921.

Priscilla Ann Garrison

Age 17, went home to be with the Lord suddenly on Monday, June 26, 2006.

Priscilla attended Caravel Academy and was entering her senior year. She was a member of Christian Life Center in Pennsville, NJ and was very active in church activities including: singing in the choir, dancing, hand bell choir and teaching in the children's ministry. At school she was a member of the National Honor Society, Model UN, Mock Trial Team, played field hockey, and one of the 2007 school year soccer team captains. Priscilla loved horses and horseback riding.

Priscilla is survived by her parents, Randy L. and Ann E. Garrison; a brother, Jamie L. Garrison; paternal grandfather, Buford Basil Garrison Sr.; and step-grandfather, George Pope. Priscilla is also survived by a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2006, from 9-11 am at the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702, followed by a service in celebration of Priscilla's life at 11 am. Burial will be in Ebenezer Church cemetery, Polly Drummond Hill Rd., Newark, DE.

STRANO & FEELEY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME

Thelma Cropper Gault

The sweet soul of Thelma Comfort Cropper Gault departed this life on Tuesday, June 27, 2006, with her family at her bedside.

Born May 10, 1916 to the late William M. and Bessie L. Cropper, she was a lifelong resident of Bishopville.

She had been an active member of Wilson United Methodist Church in Bishopville, where she had served as financial secretary for almost 50 years; the Ladies Auxiliary of the Bishopville Vol. Fire Dept., where she was the last of the charter members and had served 65 years; Women of Wilson, where she had been the treasurer for many years; and the Willards Senior Center right up to the time of her death. She had received the Governor's Citation twice. She was always a quiet, unassuming and modest woman. She was a willing worker who could always be counted on in the community her entire life. In 1982, she retired as an assistant vice president from Maryland State Bank after having started at the original Bishopville Bank 27 years before. She was as appreciated by her co-workers as the many customers who remembered her friendliness and courtesy years after her retirement. Most important in her life was her family. She was a devoted and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her example of living a life of unfailing kindness, caring and compassion are a true legacy to them.

Her husband, James E. Gault, Jr., preceded her death in 1988. They had shared almost 51 years of marriage. She leaves wonderful rich loving memories to her son, David Wesley Gault of Santee, CA and his wife, Beverly; her daughter, Rosalie Gault Smith of Bishopville, MD and her husband, Murray; 4 grandchildren, Cindy G. Parente of Santee, CA, Stephen Gault Smith of Portsmouth, NH, David J. Gault of Santee, CA and M. Ross Smith, Jr. of Durham, NC; and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Hazel Wilkins of Willards, MD; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Herman D. Cropper, died in 1977.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2006, at 1 pm at HASTINGS FUNERAL HOME, 19 S. Main St., Selbyville, DE. Friends may call from 11 am-1 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bishopville cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Bishopville Vol. Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary for the ambulance fund, PO Box 350, Bishopville, MD 21813.
