Peggy Ennis Carson

Age 78, of Dover, DE, died June 11, 2006. Visitation 7-9 pm Thurs., June 15, at FARIES FUNERAL CHAPEL, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna. Funeral 11 am Fri., June 16, at St. Peter Episcopal Church, 22 N. Union St., Smyrna.

Mary Elizabeth Cooper

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Cooper, age 94, of Baker, WV, formerly of Wilmington, DE, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 11, 2006.

Born May 4, 1912 in Delaware City, DE, Mrs. Cooper was the daughter of the late James P. Husfelt and Anna M. Gibiason Husfelt. She was a talented homemaker throughout her life and delighted in spending time with her beloved family. A devout Christian, Mrs. Cooper was a member of Living Water Worship Center in Moorefield, WV.

She enjoyed traveling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Cooper, in 1989. She is survived by their 3 children, Betty Grimes, of Panama City, FL, James Cooper, and his wife, Susan, of Wilmington, DE, and Mary Class, and her husband, Robert, of Moore-field, WV; sister, Margaret Jones, of Winchester, TN; 19 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 15, 2006, in the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where friends may call after 10 am. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Ste. 205, New Castle, DE 19720.

Robert A. Edgar, Sr.

Robert A. Edgar, Sr., age 72, of Milford, DE, suddenly passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2006, at The Heritage, in Milford.

Mr. Edgar was born June 10, 1934 in VT to the late Carroll and Helen (Ostrander) Edgar. He moved from Philadelphia, PA to DE as a child, and worked as a dockman for Delaware City Oil Refinery for 30 years.

Survivors include his former wife of 25 years, Katie (Lee) Edgar, of Wilmington; 2 sons, Robert A. Edgar, Jr., and his wife, Monica L., of Wilmington, and Carroll M. Edgar, and his wife, Dawn S., of Newark; 1 daughter, Rebecca A. Shaw, and her husband, Jackie B., of West, VA; and 4 grandchildren, Robert A. Edgar, III, Daniel W. Edgar, Matthew D. Edgar and Melissa E. Edgar.

The funeral service will be held at 7 pm on Thursday evening, June 15, 2006, in the chapel of the BERRY-SHORT FUNERAL HOME, 119 NW Front St., Milford, DE, where family and friends may visit following the service until 9 pm. Burial will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 2680, Canton, OH 44720.

George Barton Bronk

Age 91, of Hockessin, DE, died Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at the Masonic Home of Delaware.

As a child he spent several years in the Baptist Orphanage, located at 58th and Thomas Avenue in Philadelphia, PA. He obtained a degree in business from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton Evening School in 1939. George and Dorothy did volunteer work for the following institutions: Mary Campbell Center, Alfred I. DuPont Institute, Meals on Wheels, and the Salvation Army. He was Chaplain for the Gideons International. He was Sunday School Superintendent for 30 years of the First Baptist Church of Chester and past president of the Salvation Army. He went through the Chairs of the Granite-Corinthian Masonic Lodge, #34 and at the age of 83 was the oldest Master in Delaware to sit in the East. He was also past president of the Kiwanis Club of Brandywine Hundred and was active on several Boards of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He was retired from the Insurance Company of North America where he had been employed as a manager.

Husband of the late Dorothy (Frey). He is survived by his son, Charles Herbert of Franklinville, NJ; 5 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church on Wednesday, June 21st, at 2 pm in the afternoon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Highfield Masonic Home, 4800 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, DE 19807; or the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2313 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803.

Age 74 of Smyrna, DE, died June 17, 2006. Service 12 noon on Tuesday, June 20, at Harmony UM Church, Hwy 24., Millsboro, DE, where friends may call 2 hours prior. MILLER FUNERAL SERVICES

Mary A. Donofrio

Age 88, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2006.

She was a bridal consultant at LeMars Bridal Shop in Wilmington for many years and retired from the 725 Boutique on Philadelphia Pike.

Her husband, Amidore Donofrio, died in 1953. Mary is survived by her brother, Valentino Casalena and his wife, Dorothy, of Wilmington; and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at 11 am at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3710 Kirkwood Highway at Duncan Road, where family and friends may call after 10 am. Entombment will be in Cathedral cemetery.

Lawrence Paul Honis

Lawrence Paul Honis, of Bear, DE, died Thursday evening, June 15, 2006, at Christiana Hospital, in Newark, DE.

He was born in Hazelton, PA, son of the late Andrew and Mary Grohol Honis. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, in Bear, DE, where he was a eucharistic minister and lector prior to his illness. A veteran, he served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Prior to retiring, he was a special agent for the security division of the Department of State.

He was preceded in death by his sister and brothers, Mary VanGroski and John, Frank and Joseph Honis. Survivors include his wife, the former Juliana Pavlinsky; children, Mrs. Jay (Mary Anne) Hoffneier, of Burke, VA, Paul, of Santa Clara, CA, and David, of Falls Church, VA; 2 sisters, Theresa Williams, of Hazelton, PA, and Jean Saksa, of Bear, DE; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Lincicome and Jonathan and Jacquelyn Hoffneier; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives may call on Tuesday evening, June 20, at the FRANK J. BONIN FUNERAL HOME, 542 N. Wyoming St., Hazelton, PA, from 7-9 pm. Parastas will be held at 7 pm. The funeral service will be held at 9 am on Wednesday, June 21, at the funeral home, and Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 am at St. John's R.C. Church, 5 E. 20th St., Hazelton, PA. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery.

Helen F. Jeanes

Of Earleville, MD, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2006, at the age of 89.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Helen was the daughter of James S. Frazer and Phoebe (Osborne) Frazer, and was raised on their farm in Earleville. She developed a passion for the arts and was a member of the Philadelphia Orchestra Ladies Committee for 46 years, hosting musicales at her home in Villanova and later at her home in Earleville. She and her husband were also very involved in farmland preservation and they placed a permanent easement on their farm.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Jeanes; and her brothers, J. Stanley Frazer and Joseph H. Frazer. She is survived by her son, William W. Jeanes, Jr. and his wife, Lynda G. Jeanes, and their children, Alison F. Jeanes and William G. Jeanes.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that any contributions be sent to the Eastern Shore Land Conservancy, PO Box 169, Queenstown, MD 21658.

Age 50, of Perryville, MD, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2006. Funeral service at 7 pm on Monday, June 19, at the R.T. FOARD FUNERAL HOME, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911.

Walter Lack, Jr.

Mr. Walter Lack, Jr., age 77, of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2006, at Arbors at New Castle.

A native of England, Mr. Lack was born April 28, 1929, son of the late Walter Lack, Sr. and May Clair Lack. He served his country as a member of the Royal Air Force.

After moving to the United States, he was employed in sales for many years with Jacoby Appliance Parts in Newport. Mr. Lack was a 32nd Degree Master Mason and a longtime member of Hiram Lodge #25, AF&AM.

He was an avid bowler and had participated in league play for 20 years. A talented gardener throughout his life, he greatly enjoyed growing roses around his home.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pamela I. Cross Lack; their daughter, Jennifer A. Wallace of Bear, DE; a brother and sister, Cyril Lack and Sylvia Paton, both of England; and 2 grandsons, Mark Joseph Wallace and Alexander James Wallace.

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, June 22, 2006, at the SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, 121 West Park Place, Newark, where friends may call after 12 noon. A Masonic service will be held at 12:45 pm.
