Cecil S. Harris, Sr.
Age 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2006, at home.
Mr. Harris was a Portsmouth, VA native. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High school and worked at the Bank of Virginia as a management trainee. He was a member of the American Institute of Banking, and was active in the JC's of Portsmouth. Mr. Harris was a proud marine who served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict. He was employed by The News Journal and was retired as building manager for the "The Pond" in Newark.
Cecil was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Bessie Mae Harris. Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years Helen Smith Harris; 1 daughter, Lise A. Harris; and a son, Cecil S. Harris, Jr. Survivors also include 1 sister, Frances H. Whitney of Portsmouth, VA; a niece, Linda Whitley; nephews. Steven Varanko of Ennis, NC and Henry Harris, III of Memphis, TN; and numerous grandnieces and nephews.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate his life on Monday, May 1, 2006, at 11 am at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Kirkwood Highway and Duncan Road, Route 2 east at Duncan Road.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Harris' memory to Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE 19810.
Earl L. "E.L." Johnson
Earl L. Johnson "E.L.", age 69, died Monday, April 24, 2006, at home.
Earl worked for the University of Delaware and Brandywine School District until his passing.
Son of the late Earl and Matte P. Johnson (Sellers). He leaves to cherish his memory, brothers, Edward, Robert; and sisters, Rosetta and Shirley Johnson (Robert), Shavonne Davis (Michael) and Pearline Tate (Robert); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Service 10 am on Saturday, April 29, 2006, at Mother Union AME Church, 701 E. 5th Street, Wilmington, DE. Viewing 9-10 am. Interment in Gracelawn Memorial Park.

Emilio "Mimi" Messina
Mr. Emilio Messina, age 62 of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2006.
Mr. Messina was born in Wilmington on April 21, 1944, son of the late Emilio and Margaret (Blanche) Messina. Upon completing his graduation, he served in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge. He went on to be employed by the Wilmington Police Department, offering 20 years of exemplary service as a police officer and an additional 18 years as a civilian supervisor. Never idle, Mimi had many interests and possessed many skills. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and was also frequently accompanied by a ham radio, his call letters being WJ3E. A caring and dedicated friend, Mimi was always willing to lend his help when needed. He was also an animal lover, but his greatest love was for that of his family. Above all things, Mimi was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.
Mr. Messina is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Laura (Laws) Messina; son, Giuliano E. Messina; daughters, Genevieve and Giovanna Messina; sister, Diane Stoppi and her husband, Gerald; grandson, Lucciano E. Messina; his dear friend, Rasheema Brown; and a host of family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Church, 809 S. Broom St., on Monday morning, May 1, at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Cathedral cemetery. Family and friends may call at the CHARLES P. ARCARO FUNERAL HOME, 2309 Lancaster Ave. (opp. Cathedral cemetery), on Sunday evening, April 30, from 6-8 pm.

Josephine (Robino) Minuti
Mrs. Josephine (Robino) Minuti, age 90 of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2006.
Mrs. Minuti was born in Wilmington on December 1, 1915, daughter of the late Frank A. and Tersilla (Cassarona) Robino. Josephine owned and operated Mrs. Robino's Restaurant along with her son, niece, and grandson. Devoted to the restaurant, she worked everyday until her current age of 90.
Mrs. Minuti was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Minuti in 1975; and her brothers, Frank A., John, Charles, and Primo Robino. She is survived by her son, Joseph Minuti and his wife, Barbara; daughter, Robin Mabrey and her husband, Alan; sisters, Mary Walker and Angeline Smith; grandchildren, Joseph A. Minuti and his wife, Kristine, Mark Minuti and his wife, Denise, and Andrea Wakefield and her husband, Grier; great-grandchildren, Joseph A., Jr. and Nicholas Minuti, Grier and Amanda Wakefield, and Andrew Minuti; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held privately.

Age 39, of Glen Burnie, MD died Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband Jeff; son Robert Daugherty of Bear, DE; daughter Crystal Amos; step-son Ryan Moore; and step-daughter Danielle Moore. She also leaves behind her parents Robert and Faye Poffenberger of Elkton, MD; and brother and sister-in-law Robert and Tina Poffenberger Jr. of Perryville, MD.
A Memorial Service will be held at the North Arundel Church, 7610 B&A Blvd., Glen Burnie, MD at 12 noon on Saturday, April 29, 2006.

Gloria Hager Parkinson
Age 66 of Elkton, MD died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital, Wilmington, DE.
Gloria enjoyed a very deep relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her hobbies included reading and crocheting. She had a passion for movies and mystery shows, but the greatest love in her life were her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Lori West and spouse, Charles, of Chesapeake City, MD, Gloria Zubrzycki and spouse, David, of Monroe, NJ and Samantha Parkinson of Chesapeake City, MD; sons, Ronald Frushon and Spouse, Cheri, of Ellettsville, IN and Edward Frushon and spouse, Sherri, of Atoka, TN; siblings, Delores Lorivee of Dover, DE, George Hager, Jr. and spouse, Florence, of Virginia Beach, VA, Florence Fry and spouse, Ray, of Marydel, MD, Elenore Pavel, of New Castle, DE, John Russell Hager of CA and Barbara Delcollo and spouse, Daniel, of Wilmington, DE; grandchildren, Amber Benjamin and Mia Cook, Jordan and Jenna Frushon, Kristy, Mikayla and Anthony Frushon, Melissa Charles, David Charles, Whitney Clapper, Kristina Stephens, Nicholas and Allison Zubrzycki, Keri Kirby, and Nikki and Cody Schulte; great grandchild, Jackson Benjamin; lifelong friends, Richard Parkinson and his deceased daughter, Beverly Dougherty, of Chesapeake City, MD and Ronald Frushon of Millington, TN; and many nieces, nephews and friends; her canine companion, Abby. She was welcomed into heaven by Jesus and the following relatives, her mother, Reba Hager; father, George Hager, Sr.; sister, Lavada Provin; and daughter, Beth Ann Parkinson.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2006, at 5 pm at GEE FUNERAL HOME, 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Edna N. Ross
Age 86, of Newark, DE, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 24, 2006.
Mrs. Ross was a Girl Scout for 75 years. She was a retired leader from the Bergen County Girl Scout Council. She joined the Chesapeake Bay Girl Scout Council as a retired member. Mrs. Ross was among the very first IBM Key Punch operator in installation at the 1939 World's Fair. Edna was also employed by the T.J. Lipton Tea Co. for many years. She was a former elder of South Church Presbyterian Church, Bergenfield, NJ. Mrs. Ross also was an avid reader who enjoyed sewing and cooking.
Mrs. Ross is survived by her 2 daughters, Karen R. Davis, and Janet R. McGivern and her husband John; grandchildren, John W. Ross and his wife Teri, Kristin Cutler and her husband Matthew, Sarah Johnson and her husband Christopher, Jennifer Laube and her husband Waide, and Meredith McGivern; great grandchildren, J. Aaron Ross, Kaitlyn and Riley Ross, Andrew Ross, Quentin Cutler, Vaughan Cutler, Christopher, Justin, Sean, and Holly Laube.
A visitation will be held on Saturday evening, April 29, 2006 from 5-7 pm at the Riewert's Funeral Home, 187 S. Washington Avenue, Bergenfield, NJ 07621. A viewing will also be held on Sunday, April 30, from 2-4 pm at the funeral home. A service in celebration of Mrs. Ross's life will be held at 7 pm in the South Presbyterian Church, 150 W. Church St., Bergenfield, NJ. Burial will be Monday, May 1, 2006 at 10:30 am in the South Church cemetery, Bergenfield, NJ.
