Dorothy Dougherty (Dottie)

Age 93, of Wilmington, DE died peacefully with her Lord on Thursday, March 2, 2006 in Gilpin Hall.

Born in Lewes, DE on April 2, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Mamie Short and was a graduate of Lewes High School. She retired in 1975 after working 32 years as a hostess at the Green Room at the Hotel Dupont.

She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Pedrouzek of AZ; her grandson, John Elliott of Lewes, DE and a great-grandchild. She will be sadly missed by both Joe Dougherty and his family and the Sidler Family.

She was predeceased by her husband, John in 1983; her sister, Helen and Georgie and her brother, Carl.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning, March 8 at 10 am at St. Ann's Church, Gilpin Ave. and Union Sts., Wilmington. There will be no viewing. Burial will be in Cathedral cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Rd., Newark, DE 19713.

Terry N. Glover

Age 49, of Newark, DE passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 4, 2006, due to heart failure.

Terry was an avid fisherman, who built his own fishing rods. He was a talented artist, and was a fanatical New York Giants football fan. He was devoted to his nieces and nephew.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Julian T. Glover in 2004 and his sister, Carol Taylor in 2005. He is survived by his mother, Liv Glover of Newark; brothers, John-Erick Glover and his wife, Carolyn of Newark, and William K. Glover and his wife, Connie, of Allentown, NJ; his sister, Diane Kifer and her husband, Frank of Landenberg, PA, and several nieces and nephew.

Funeral services will be 10 am on Thursday, March 9th at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Augusta Dr. & Johnson Rd., Chestnut Hills Estates, Newark. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, March 8th from 7-9 pm at NICHOLS-GILMORE Funeral Home, 212 E. Justis St., Newport. Interment will be at All Saints cemetery, Kirkwood Highway, Wilm.

The family suggests contributions in Terry's memory to the American Heart Association, 1501 Casho Mill Rd. Newark, DE 19711.

Ida Sachs Gostin

Age 86, widow of David Gostin; daughter of the late Raphael and Jennie Sachs, died March 5, 2006.

She had been past president of Hadassah and assisted her husband in the operation of Gostin's Gulf Station at Front & Walnut in Wilmington.

She is survived by her daughter, Arlene and son, Howard.

A graveside service will be 1:30 pm, Tuesday, March 7, 2006 in Beth Emeth Memorial Park on Faulkland Rd. Shiva will be observed 7 pm, Tuesday evening in Cong. Beth Emeth, 300 W. Lea Blvd.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to either Cong. Beth Emeth, 300 W. Lea Blvd., Wilmington, DE 19802 or Jewish Family Service, 99 Passmore Rd., Wilmington, DE 19803.

Age 35 of Wilmington, DE, died Fri., March 3, 2006 at her residence. Services, 12 noon on Wed., March 8, at THE HOUSE OF WRIGHT MORTUARY, 208 E. 35th St., Wilmington, DE. Friends may call Wed., March 8, 10-12 noon.

George T. "Tom" Hudson

Age 67 of Frankford, DE, passed away March 3, 2006. Services, 12:30 pm, March 8, at St. George's United Methodist Church, Rt. 26, Clarksville. Friends may call after 10:30 am. Arr. by MELSON FUNERAL SERVICES OF OCEAN VIEW.

Otis C. Ledbetter "Chub"

Otis C. Ledbetter "Chub", son of the late Katie Ledbetter and the late Sylvester Stanley, was born October 20, 1960, in Marshville, NC. He suddenly departed this life February 25, 2006 in Wilmington Hospital.

He leaves to cherish his memory 3 daughters, Michele, Fatima and Otisha Mickens, all of Wilmington, DE; 1 son, Omar Ledbetter, of Philadelphia, PA; 2 stepdaughters, Siedah and Tynetta Wilmore, both of Wilmington, DE; a devoted companion, Dorenda Wilmore, of Wilmington, DE; 6 grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, including an aunt whom he cherished, Maxine Horne.

Family and friends may call beginning at 5 pm, followed by the funeral service at 7 pm on Monday, March 6, 2006, at Ezion Fair Baptist Church, 1230 N. Interment will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

Age 98 of Milford, DE died Sat., March 4, 2006 at Milford Center Nursing Home. Services, 12 noon, Thurs., March 9, in the Chapel of BERRY-SHORT FUNERAL HOME, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford. Friends may call 1 hour before 11 am.

Margaret Edith Biondi Malchione

Age 83 of Kennett Square, PA, died Saturday March 4, 2006 at the Manor Care Nursing home in Pike Creek, DE.

She was the wife of Rocco "RJ" Malchione with whom she shared 65 years of marriage.

Born in Devon, PA she was a daughter of the late John and Marie Bucci Biondi.

Margaret worked in the family mushroom business with her husband for many years and also St. Patrick's School. She was a member of St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother in Avondale.

Survivors include in addition to her husband; 2 daughters, Rosemarie Marenco and her husband, Frederick of Avondale, Laraine Maddalozzo and her husband, Lorenzo of Kennett Square; 2 brothers, Paul Biondi of Kennett Square, John Biondi of Toughkenamon; 3 sisters, Edith Losito of Toughkenamon, Theresa Caligiuri of West Grove, Mary Mastrippolitto of West Grove; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren also survive. She was predeceased by 2 brothers; Fred Biondi and Joseph Biondi and a great grandson, Lukas Kevin Kremer.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 am on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Mother Church 8910 Gap Newport Pike, (Rt 41) Avondale PA 19311. Friends and family are invited to her viewing from 6-8 pm Wednesday, March 8 at the KUZO & GRIECO FUNERAL HOME INC. (610-444-4116) 250 West State St. Kennett Square. Interment will be in St. Patrick cemetery.

Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Gabriel's Church PO Box 709 Avondale, PA 19311.

Jean (Gisa) Podolsky nee Lowenthal

Age 81, widow of Leaman B. Podolsky, died March 4, 2006.

Loving mother of Michael and Stewart; cherished granmother of Zach, Erica, Jen and Josh; dear sister of David Lowenthal.

She enjoyed baking, home decorating and visiting with friends.

A graveside service will be 11 am, Wednesday, March 9, 2006 at the Jewish Community cemetery on Foulk Rd.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Kutz Home Employee Fund, 704 River Rd., Wilmington, DE 19809.

He had been the owner of Bernie's Sport Shop in Irvington, NJ and a member of the Jewish War Veterans of Elizabeth , NJ.

He was predeceased by his son, Roger and is survived by his wife, Mildred; daughter, Leda Levine; daughter-in-law, Terry Sipress; brothers, Mannie and Harry; sister, Ruth Rothstein; grandchildren, Mattew, Abby, and Ronald.

A graveside service will be 1 pm, Tuesday, March 7, 2006 in Beth El cemetery, Paramus, NJ.
