Richard A. Sobus "Rich"

Richard A. Sobus, age, 51 of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2006, surrounded by his family.

Born in Oak Park, IL, Rich was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and worked in the Chicago P.D.'s Communications Department for many years. After marrying and moving to DE, Rich worked in the Parts Departments for the following Ford Dealerships: Milford Motors, Winner Automotive, and Murphy Ford. An avid collector, Rich will be remembered for his love of music.

Rich is survived by his wife of 21 years, Kathy (Anthony) Sobus; a son, Max; a daughter, Meredith; brother, John Sobus; sister, Joyce Vugrin; brother-in-law and father-in-law, both named Don Anthony; and 3 nephews, John and Paul Sobus, and Andrew Anthony. He was predeceased by his parents, Bernice Hlavacek and John Sobus.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 28th, at 11 am at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1314 Foulk Rd., Wilmington, DE 19803, where friends are invited to call after 9:30 am, interment in Gracelawn Memorial Park will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sobus Children's Education Fund at any Wilmington Trust Branch; or to the St. Paul's Youth at St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

Richard "Rick" Linden Walker

Of Dover, DE, age 79, died on Friday, April 21, 2006, at Kent General Hospital, Dover.

Services will be private.

Brother of Jessica & Bennie Wilson, Doretha Dungee, Lillie Ghent (James), Inetta Wilson, Rosanna Mayfield, Major Wilson (Sherry), & Carlie Stewart (Grafton). Mother & Father-in-law, Katherine & Norris Earle; favorite cousin, Cleveland Roberts; 3 aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family & friends. Mr. Wilson worked as a store attendant for Amtrak. He was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church. Homegoing Services 11 am Thursday, April 27, at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 1325 Barksdale Rd., Newark, DE, where viewing will be from 9-11 am only. Burial in Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery, Bear. Lucy Zajaczkowski

Age 91 of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2006, at the St. Francis Hospital.

Lucy was a seamstress.

She is survived by her brother, Thomas Zajaczkowski; a sister, Helen Sklodowski, both of Wilmington, DE; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 27, at 10:30 am in the Cathedral cemetery, 2400 Lancaster Ave., Wilmington, DE.

Family requests memorial contributions be sent to St. Hedwigs Church, 408 S. Harrison St., Wilmington, DE 19805.

William P. Babby Jr.

William P. Babby Jr. Age 59 passed away, on Friday, April 21, 2006, surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born in Wilmington, DE, the son of the late William Sr., and Clare Babby. He graduated from Sacred Heart School, and Salesianum High School. He received his B.A. in criminal Justice and his masters degree in education from Wilmington College. After serving 7 years with the Newark, DE Police Department, he transferred to the Wilmington Police Department, retiring as Master Sergeant with the detective unit. Bill served 4 years with the United States Air Force. Most recently, Bill was a Securities Analyst for the State of Delaware. The family would like to personally thank all of the state employees who so generously donated their sick time to support Bill during his illness. As his children grew up, he was active in the little league, cub scouts, camping, beach going, and vacations in Florida. Bill was a faithful member of St. Elizabeth Church and participated as a Eucharistic Minister.

Bill is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carol L. Babby; his son, William P. Babby III and his wife, Karen; his daughter, Angela D. Farley and her husband, Robert; his son, Michael A. Babby; his daughter, McKayla A. Babby; his grandchildren, Brendan Stockman, and Ava Babby; his sister, Barbara A. McGregor and her husband, Gary. He is Also survived by many family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth Church, Cedar and South Clayton Sts., Wilmington, on Tuesday morning, April 25, 2006, at 10 am. Interment will be in Cathedral cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday evening, April 24, 2006, from 6-9 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Bill to the Kidney Cancer Association, 1234 Sherman Ave., Suite 203, Evanston, IL 60202.

Son of the late Theodore and Grace Berger, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2006.

Born November 9, 1941, he is survived by his wife, Linda; his brother, Harry; and adopted brother, John DeMartini.

Edward S. Biddle

Edward Spencer Biddle, 92, of Newark, DE, died Saturday, April 22, 2006.

Mr. Biddle was the Director, Department of Poultry and Animal Health for the Delaware Department of Agriculture. He was a member of the American Public Health Association and Newark Board of Health.

Survivors include his son, Spencer T. Biddle, Newark, DE and his daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn B. and Henry W. Mason, Rising Sun, MD; grandchildren and their spouses, Mary Ann and Barry Williams and Daniel H. and Monica Mason; and great grandchildren, Steven Mason and Megan and Kristen Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Augusta; and sisters, Ruth C. and Miriam D. Biddle

Private service will be held with interment in Rose Bank cemetery, Calvert, MD.

William H. Biggs

Age 71, of Chesapeake City, MD, died Saturday, April 20, 2006. A service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, April 25, Galena Funeral Home, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, MD. Friends may call Monday evening, from 6-8 pm.

Elizabeth D. Bonkowski

Elizabeth D. Bonkowski, of Lincoln, DE, and formerly of Coventry, New Castle, went quietly to God's arms on Friday, April 21, 2006, after a brief illness. Her family and her beloved pets were by her side. She was 73.

Mrs. Bonkowski was a graduate of Wilmington High School, class of 1950. Her first job was as an usher at the then Playhouse Theater. Although she later worked at DuPont, the New Castle County School system, and Delaware Division of Public Health, her true calling was always to her husband, Frank, and her children, to whom she selflessly devoted herself all of her life. She was a long time parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church. After moving downstate, Mrs. Bonkowski was a member of St. John the Apostle, Milford, DE.

Mrs. Bonkowski was preceded in death by her first and only love, her husband of 44 years, Francis J. Bonkowski, Sr.; her son, Francis J. Bonkowski, Jr.; her parents, George and Julia Denney; her sister, Kathryn Ribynski; and her brother, George Denney, Jr. She is survived by her children, Michael F. Bonkowski of Centerville, DE, Patricia Freas of New Castle, DE, Judith Fagan of Cape May Courthouse, NJ, Betsy Hughey of Lincoln, DE, with whom she lived, and Brian Bonkowski of Georgetown, DE; sister, Julia Cannatelli of Rehoboth, DE; 10 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

Friends may call from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, April 25th, and again from 10-11 am on Wednesday, April 26th, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. duPont Parkway, New Castle.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE 19810; or the Diabetes Association, 100 W. 10th Street, Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19801.

Lonnie Brown Jr.

Age 36, of Wilmington, DE, died Thursday, April 20, 2004. A service will be held at 7 pm on Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, 3079 New Castle Ave., New Castle, DE, where friends may call from 5-7 pm.

Edgar Ralph Clayton

Age 81, beloved husband of Elvera, died Friday, April 21, 2006, surrounded by family.

Ed was born in Wawa, PA, in 1925, to the late John and Eva Clayton.

Ed was a graduate of Downingtown High School. "Big Ed" worked at the then Worth Steel and retired January 1987, after 37 years of service at Phoenix Steel. Ed was an ardent fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Flyers. He and his son, Jimmy, enjoyed attending the Delaware Blue Hens football games. Ed also enjoyed NASCAR racing events. He spent many enjoyable fishing trips with his grandson Mike. Ed spent many hours tending to his lawn and gardens. Ed grew some of the best tomatoes in the state of Delaware.

Ed is survived by his wife, Vera. Ed and Vera celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in November 2005. Ed is also survived by 2 daughters, Naomi and her daughter, Marisa, and Ruth, her husband, Robert, and their children, Lynde and Michael; and 2 sons, Paul, his wife, Edith, and their daughters, Amy and Grace, and James, his wife, Carol, and their daughter Isabel. Ed was predeceased in death by 1 sister, Mary Ella; and 2 brothers, George and John Jr.

At his request, funeral services and interment at Gracelawn cemetery will be for immediate family only.

Henry Edward Crenshaw, Sr.

Age 55, died April 17, 2006 at his residence.

Beloved husband of Pearl (Mills) Crenshaw, father of Henry Edward Crenshaw, Jr. (Tonya) and Junen-icko Cren-shaw. Son of Gertrude Crenshaw and the late Williams Henry. Brother of Christine Sudler (Doug), Daniel Crenshaw (Yvonne), Margaret Brown, Brenda Porter (Eugene), Sanobice Hilton (Leonard), Curtis V. Cren-shaw, and the late Moses and Maggie Crenshaw. Also survived by 3 grandchildren, Jayshon, Deon and Edward, II; 8 sisters-in-law; mother-in-law, Bernice Mills; & a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral 11 am Monday, April 24, at Northeast Church of Christ, 2611 Northeast Blvd. Viewing 9-11 am. Burial in Gracelawn Memorial Park. Arr by CONGO F.H.
