Mrs. Clancy was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Myles Clancy, who died November 4, 1986; her 5 sisters; and 2 brothers. She is survived by her daughters, Maureen Leyva of Newark, DE, Sheila C. Nutter and her husband, William, of Wilmington, DE, Kathleen C. Fanny and her husband, Lewis, of Newark, DE; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann's Church, Gilpin Ave. & N. Union St., Wilmington, on Saturday morning, October 29, 2005, at 10 am. Interment will be in All Saints cemetery. Friends may call at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 1900 Delaware Ave., Wilmington, on Friday evening, October 28, 2005, from 7-9 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Rd., Newark, DE 19713-2997.

Bernice McAfee

Age 87 of Dover, DE died Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at Green Valley Pavilion, Smyrna. Visitation 10 am and funeral 11 am Friday, October 28, at TRADER FUNERAL HOME, 12 Lotus St., Dover.

Ronald J. Simpler, Jr.

Age 28 of Millsboro, DE died suddenly on Saturday, October 22, 2005. Memorial service at 11 am on Saturday, November 5, at MELSON FUNERAL SERVICES, Long Neck Rd., Long Neck, DE.

John A. Street

Age 60 of the Linwood section of Lower Chichester, PA died Monday, October 24, 2005, at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, PA.

John was born in Chester to John B. and Rosalie Udiljak Street, where he was reared and educated. He graduated from Chester High School, Class of 1963. John worked for the Chrysler Corp. for 30 years, first on the assembly line, and then in the maintenance department, before retiring in 1994. He was a lance corporal in the United States Marine Corps from 1966-1968 during the Vietnam War, completing 2 tours of duty, where he received the Purple Heart. John raised homing pigeons and competed with the local clubs in Delco. An avid hunter and fisherman, John also enjoyed collecting coins.

Survivors include his daughter, Wendi Rader of Newark, DE; 2 sisters, Rosalie Matuliewich of King of Prussia and Lorraine DiMeglio of Springfield; and 1 grandson. He was also the brother of the late Michael Street, who died in 1986.

John's funeral service and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Delaware County SPCA, 555 Sandybank Rd., Media, PA 19063.

Mary E. Campbell

Age 79 of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Damascus, VA, passed away peacefully at home, in the presence of her family, on October 24, 2005, the day before her 80th birthday.

Mary, who was a homemaker, was employed at the Kamugraph Company in the late 1950s and early 1960s. She retired early to care for her husband. She enjoyed Delaware Park, fishing, working in her yard, her family, and watching Atlanta Braves baseball. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Her husband, Howard, preceded Mary in death in 1978. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Martha A. and Ronald A. Turner and Carol J. and James L. Shumate, all of Wilmington; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Fisher of Wilmington, Dot Wheatly of New Castle and Callie Reader of Wilmington; brother, Charles McVey of VA; nephew, Robert McVey of Wilmington; and many other beloved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2005, at the NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St., Newport, where visitation will begin at 2 pm. Interment will be private.

The family suggests contributions in Mary's memory to Catholic Charities, 2601 W. 4th St., Wilmington, DE 19805.

Nakyé K. Custis

Age 2 weeks, passed away Oct. 21, 2005. Beloved son of Marcel Boyer & Norman Custis, Sr. Brother of Deonte, Norman, Anijah & Ni' Onna. Funeral 12 noon Fri., Oct. 28, at CONGO FUNERAL HOME, 2317 N. Markst St. Burial Gracelawn.

Theresa Brown Duffy

Age 94, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, on October 26, 2005.

Theresa Bridget Brown was born in Glasgow, Scotland to Daniel and Madge Brown. Along with her parents, she moved to her parents' birthplace of County Donegal, Ireland. Theresa lived the first 7 years of her life in Ungal, Malin Head, Ireland, where her sister and brother, Margaret and Jim, were born. With her family, Theresa immigrated to the United States in 1918 and settled in Wilmington, DE. Theresa married Paul A. Duffy and together they raised 5 children. Theresa and Paul moved from Wilmington to Arden in 1936 and lived on Walnut Lane. They then moved to Ardentown in 1944, where they built the house that has been the treasured home to all of her family members. Theresa was very active in the Arden community and she was a cherished neighbor to many.

Theresa's husband, Paul A. Duffy, passed away in 1985. She was also predeceased by her son, Paul D. Duffy. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Sr. Mary Anne Brown, OSF; her daughter-in-law, Dolores Duffy; her son, Raymond L. Duffy; her daughter and son-in-law, Constance and Alex Pondok; her daughter and son-in-law, Antoinette and Kim Morton; and her daughter and son-in-law, Maureen and John Gordon. Theresa was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren, who have been the center of her life.

Theresa's family would like to thank VNA of Delaware and Compassionate Care Hospice, who supported Theresa and her family.

All are invited to attend visitation from 6-8 pm on Sunday, October 30, 2005, at the Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 am on Monday, October 31, 2005, at Holy Rosary Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont. Burial will be in Arden Memorial Gardens. The family invites everyone to join them for a reception to celebrate Theresa's life at Arden Gild Hall, 2126 Orleans Rd., Arden, following the burial service.

GEBHART FUNERAL HOMES of New Castle County

Albert Fineman

Age 84 of Wilmington, DE died October 26, 2005.

He was a member of Corinthian Lodge #20 AF&AM and served as its Master in 1964, the State of Delaware Grand Lodge Staff, Commander-in-Chief, Sovereign Prince, and a trustee of the Scottish Rite Bodies of Delaware. He received 33 Degree, the highest Masonic honor, at an Inventure in Boston, MA in 1975. He served on the board of manager of the Masonic Home of Delaware and as a trustee of Lombardy Hall Foundation, Inc.

Mr. Fineman was employed by the DuPont Co. Chambers Works in Deepwater, NJ for 40 years, retiring in 1979. He served as president and vice president on the board of the Deepwater Industries Federal Credit Union. While at DuPont, he established Azalea Acres, which began a hobby, raising azaleas and rhododendrons. Azalea Acres moved from Wilmington, DE to Smithbridge Road, Concord Twp., Glen Mills, PA in 1967, where it grew and flourished until his second retirement in 1985. He then was associated with Waterloo Gardens i Exton, PA for 9 years as a sales associate.

He graduated from Wilmington High School and attended the US Merchant Marine Academy. He was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom, was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Harry Fineman Post of the Jewish War Veterans of Delaware.

He was an ardent fisherman. He had a lasting love of azaleas and introduced over 100 varieties not available before in the Delaware Valley area. He also enjoyed traveling in the United States and 30 foreign countries.

Albert was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Selma; and son, Harold. He is survived by his daughter, Betty Fineman of Dallas, TX and her partner, Barbara Stone; son and daughter-in-law, David and Elizabeth of Arlington, VA; and granddaughter, Megan Fineman of Richmond, VA.

The funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, October 28, 2005, at SCHOENBERG MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 519 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, where a Masonic Service will be gin at 1:45 pm. Interment will be in the Jewish Community cemetery on Foulk Rd.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Highfield Masonic Home of Delaware, 4800 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, DE 19807.

Florence I. Fontello

Age 71 of Newark, DE went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 24, 2005.

Florence worked as a sales clerk at Kmart in Castle Mall for 14 years, retiring in 1991. Previously, she worked as a nurse's aide at St. Francis Hospital and Gilpin Hall. Mrs. Fontello enjoyed baking. Florence devoted herself to the care of her family. She was a giving and caring person and was a foster parent for many children.

She is survived by 2 sons, Robert G. Fontello, Jr. and John J. Fontello; 1 daughter, Louise C. Albright and her husband, Bill; 2 brothers, Joseph Conroy and Jack Conroy; 10 grandchildren, Billy, Mandy, Katie and Michelle Albright, Ryan and Marie Fontello, Florence, Laura and Hunter Fontello and Joshua Crowley; and 3 great grandchildren, Richard, Jessica and Angelo. She was preceded in death by her brother and sister, Sonny Conroy and Dorothy Martin.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2005 in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702, from 9-10 am, followed by a service in celebration of Florence's life at 10 am. Burial will be in Cathedral cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association, 1096 Old Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19713.

STRANO AND FEELEY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME

Donna C. Griffith (McNeill)

Age 79 of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Griffith was a teacher's aide for over 25 years for New Castle County School District before her retirement. Her memberships included the Claymont BPW, the Claymont Women's Club, the Junior Board of St. Francis Hospital, and the Wilmington Jaycees. Donna was on the board of directors of the United Cerebral Palsy of Delaware, Inc. and was a co-founder of Jakes with Rakes and Bags with Rags.

She was predeceased by her devoted husband, James E. Griffith, Sr.; her grandson, Brian Schiffer; and 2 brothers, George and William McNeill. She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Carol A. Schiffer of Park Ridge, IL and Joan Hensel and her husband, William, of Wilmington, DE; and her sons, Richard H. of Wilmington, DE, Dennis P. and his wife, Janice, of Fort Collins, CO and COL James E., Jr. and his wife, Pamela, of Carlisle, PA. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Donna Schiffer, Spring Heald and her husband Dave, Katherine Hensel Carcoura and her husband Marshall, Elise Hensel, Jessica and Jaclyn Gilio, and Jessica, Stephanie, Amanda, Heather and Andrew "AJ" Griffith; 2 sisters, Mary Ann Rapp of Chicago, IL and Rita Anderson of Gurnee, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 30th, from 6-8 pm, at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, Limestone and Milltown Roads, Wilmington. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday morning, October 31st, at 11 am, at St. Helena's Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Bellefonte. Interment will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery in Bear.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the United Cerebral Palsy of Delaware, 700A River Road, Wilmington, DE 19809.
