Paul G. Lehman, Jr.

Paul G. Lehman, Jr., age 67, of Virginia Beach, VA, died January 28, 2006 in a VA hospital.

He was predeceased by his mother, Lillian Lehman; his father, Paul G. Lehman, Sr.; his daughter, Deborah Lehman; and his brother, David Lehman. Survivors include his children, Paul G. Lehman, III, and his wife, Kathy, of Virginia Beach, VA, and Donna Small, and her husband, Ed, of Sicklerville, NJ; brother, Martin Lehman, and his wife, Janice, of Red Lion, DE; sister-in-law, Margaret Lehman, of Wilmington, DE; 7 grandchildren; and 2 great grandsons.

A memorial service will be conducted by Dr. Drew Landry at 1 pm on Friday, February 3, 2006, at Ogletown Baptist Church, 316 Red Mill Rd., Newark, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to The Neuropathy Association, PO Box 26226, New York, NY 10117.

Margaret McIntire "Peggy"

Age 76, of Elkton, MD, died Wednesday, February 1, 2006.

Survivors include her children, Meg Quinn, Dorothy Dixon, Kay Dowell, Mark McIntire, John McIntire and Mary McIntire, all of Elkton, MD; siblings, Mary Satterfield, Ruth Boulden, and Frances Denver, all of Elkton, MD, William Satterfield, Kennett Square, PA, and Ann Mears, Chesapeake City, MD; 14 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by Thomas N. McIntire, Jr. Mrs. McIntire was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Nicoll McIntire, III; and sisters, Jean Hall and Theresa Harrigan.

Prayer service will be held 12 noon Saturday, February 4, 2006, at HICKS HOME FOR FUNERALS, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD 21921, where family and friends may call after 10 am. Interment will be in Cherry Hill Methodist cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the T. Nicoll McIntire, III Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o the funeral home.

Charles J. Minott

Age 78, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE, after a long illness.

Charles served his country in the US Army Calvary. He retired in 1990 after 30 years as the shipping supervisor for Business & Commercial Envelope in Brentwood, NY. He moved to Wilmington in 2004. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine Ann Minott, in 1996. He is survived by his wife, Ann; his eldest son, Darrell Minott, former Delaware Secretary of Labor and director of the Delaware Economic Development Office in the administration of The Honorable Thomas R. Carper, and his wife, Evon, and their children, Tamara and Clayton; and his youngest son, Gary Minott, a drafting engineer in Los Angeles, CA, and his wife, Shalimar, and their children, Phillip and Zachary.

Friends may call at the Cassidy Funeral Home, 156 Willis Ave, Mineola, NY, on Friday evening, February 3, from 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday February 4, 2006, at 9:45 am, at Corpus Christi Church, 155 Garfield Ave., Mineola, NY. Burial will be private.

Age 57 of Kenton, DE, died Monday, January 30, 2006. Viewing 10 am and funeral 12 noon Friday, February 3, at the BENNIE SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 717 W. Division St., Dover, DE 19904.

Madeline I. North (Heitzentrater)

Madeline I. (Heitzentrater) North, of Newark, DE, entered into the presence of her Lord January 31, 2006, at her daughter's home in Newark.

Mrs. North was born in Trade City, PA in 1913. Mrs. North was employed by Sears for 25 years, a member of the OES of Apollo, PA for 55 years, and served as president of the New London Garden Club.

Her husband of 53 years, J. Berton North, died in 1987. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Linda Shepherd, with whom she lived, and Patricia Cooper, of Milford, DE; 5 grandchildren, Danielle Shaffield, of Acworth, GA, Aaron "AJ" Shepherd, of Boca Raton, FL, Berton and Jeffery Cooper, both of Milford, Robert Cooper, of San Diego, CA, and Marjorie Forte, of Salt Lake City, UT; and 9 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call at the CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin from 7-9 pm on Friday evening, February 3. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 4, at New London Presbyterian Church, 1986 Newark Rd., New London, PA 19360. Friends may also call at the church from 10-10:30 Saturday morning.

Donald E. O'Shea

Age 77, of Neenah, WI, passed away January 31, 2006 at Theda Clark Medical Center.

Don was born February 7, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Peter J. and Anna D. (Dougherty) O'Shea. Don was active in the United States Navy, proudly serving as part of the amphibious forces in World War II and the Korean Conflict. Don was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois M. Nelson, of Waupaca. He later married G. May Whitehead O'Connor, of Newark, DE, who also preceded him in death. Don's love of the open waters was not limited to his service in the Navy. He spent many years of boating with his family and friends on the Chesapeake Bay. He was a member of the Mason's, the VFW, and the Delaware Saengerbund Association. Don was a loving and doting grandfather, and will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his children, Michael (Adrienne) O'Shea and Kevin (Suzanne) O'Shea; and 4 grandchildren, Ryan and Christine O'Shea and Patrick and Brandon O'Shea. Don was preceded in death by his brother, Peter; and 3 sisters, Dorothy, Anne and Marian.

The funeral service will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, February 4, 2006, at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W. Doty Ave., Neenah, WI, with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Visitation will be from 1 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Lakeside cemetery in Waupaca.

Elinore Petras

Age 83, died on Sunday, January 29, 2006, at Whitehall Boca Raton Skilled Nursing Residence in Boca Raton, FL.

Born in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen Sumski Kipikas. She was the wife of the late John J. Petras, whom she met at the Veterans Administration in Scranton, PA, where they worked and later moved to Wilmington, DE. They were members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, in Wilmington, DE, from its inception in 1955. She was also a member of its altar guild. She was a homemaker and did clerical and sales work over the years. She was a member of the Elks Women's Club and the St. Francis Hospital Junior Board in Wilmington. She enjoyed travel and was interested in history and current events.

Elinore was preceded in death by 2 brothers, John and Bernard Kipikas; and a sister, Marie Iacovoni. Survivors include her daughter, Susan Petras, of Boca Raton, FL; her brother, Robert Kipikas, of Baltimore, MD; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call from 9-10 am on Friday, February 3, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 121 Willow St., Olyphant, PA, where mass will be celebrated at 10 am. Interment will be in St. Catherine's cemetery in Moscow.

Lucy Emily Samluk

Lucy Emily Samluk, age 86, of Wilmington, DE, daughter of the late Joseph and Antonia Samluk, died on Monday, January 30, 2006, at Wilmington Hospital.

Lucy graduated magna cum laude from Seton Hall University in NJ and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. She was a dedicated physics, math and science teacher in Lodi, NJ for 35 years, then began teaching in DE and in 1977, she was chosen as "Teacher of the Year for the State of Delaware". She was a member and past president of the Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Sorority. She continued to teach in DE until her retirement in 1985. Lucy was a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church and a member of their Holy Rosary Society. She was also a member of AMPOL, American of Polish Cultural Society, and in 1983, received their Annual Achievement Award.

Lucy is survived by her brother, Jesse W. Samluk, of Wilmington, De; and 2 sisters, Martha T. Samluk, of Wilmington, DE, and Elizabeth S. Yasik, of Newark, DE; as well as many nephews and nieces.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12:30 pm on Saturday, February 4, 2006, at St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church, 400 S. Harrison St., Wilmington, DE. Friends and family may attend a viewing 1 hour prior, starting at 11:30 am, at the church. Interment will be in Cathedral cemetery.

James L. Sharpe, Jr.

Age 80, of Wilmington, DE, died on Thursday, January 26, 2006, at Riverside Extended Care.

A retiree from Chrysler Corporation in 1981, He also worked as a security officer for a number of local security firms.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Glendora Nelson and Lucille Jones. Also preceding him to glory is his loving wife, Barbara J. Dixon Sharpe. James is survived by 1 son, David L. Sharpe, of Wilmington, DE; 3 daughters, Barbara Sharpe, of San Diego, CA, Judith Carter, and her husband, Dwight, of Chester, PA, and Gloria Smith, of Alexandria, VA. He is further survived by a host of loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 8-10 am on Saturday, February 4, 2006, at The House of Wright Mortuary, 208 E. 35th St., Wilmington, DE, where the funeral service will begin at 10 am.
