Susanne Jane Libkey of Rehoboth Beach, died at her residence Sunday, March 13, 2005.
Born in Baltimore, Md., she is survived by her son, William, and daughter-in-law Kathleen of Abingdon, Md.; her son, Joseph, of Lewes; her sister Mary Railey of Rehoboth Beach; three grandchildren, Joseph, Sasha and Stacy; and two great-grandchildren, Brittney and Eric.
She was predeceased by her husband, James J. Libkey, in 1982.

Walter H. Ferber,
retired from Naval lab
Walter Henry Ferber Jr. 85 of Lewes, died Friday, March 11, 2005, at his residence.
Mr. Ferber was born in Washington, D.C. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1939-1945. He was retired from the Naval Ordinance Lab. He was a life member of the VFW Post 6984, Milton, and a member of the American Legion Post 28, Oak Ridge.
Mr. Ferber is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ella Mae (Randles) Ferber of Lewes; a son, Robert Ferber and wife, Joyce, of Laurel, Md.; a son, William Ferber, and wife, Liz, of Hillsboro, Ore.; and a daughter, Barbara Trueblood, and her husband, Bob, of Mt. Airy, Md.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Grace Purcell Sullivan,

Grace E. Purcell Sullivan, 68, died Friday, March 11, 2005.
Born January 18, 1937 in Milford, the 10th of 12 children of the late Andrew and Mary-Virginia (Armour) Purcell, she moved to Wichita, Kan. in 1956 and has resided there since.
A retired typesetter and owner of Sullivan Lithographics, Grace is survived by her husband of 49 years, Donald D. Sullivan; her four children Cynthia Altman and husband, Bob, of Omaha; Greg Sullivan and wife, Janet, of Wichita; John Sullivan and wife, Kelly, of Wichita; Julia Spaid and husband, Randy, of Wichita; her seven grandchildren Kelly, Kara, Whitney, Grant, Evelyn, Patrick, and Tyler, and one great-grandchild, Camdin. She is also survived by three siblings: Betty Polite of Lewes, Mary Beachy of Greenwood, and David Purcell of Ogallala, Neb.; a brother-in-law, Gary Sullivan, and wife, Norma, of Shawnee, Kan.; and three half-sisters, Connie Connelly, Julie Ramey and Anda White.
She was preceded in death by brothers: Armour, Andrew, Stephen, Donald and Paul; and sisters: Maxine, Gertrude and Millie.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, at Old Mission Mortuary.
Millicent E. Lynch,
lab technician
Millicent E. Lynch, 49, of Selbyville, died Saturday, March 12, 2005, at home.
Before her illness, Mrs. Lynch was a laboratory technician for Intervet of Millsboro and later a pool technician for Rip Tide Pool Service of Ocean City, Md. She was a member of Elks chapter 2645 Ladies Auxiliary of Ocean City.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald F. Lynch; her mother, Rosa Morris; a son, Barry C. Lynch; a stepdaughter, Melanie Ann Lynch; a brother, Elmo Lynch; two sisters, Sallie Murray and Rosa Rockman; three grandchildren, Christopher, Melissa and B.J. Lynch.
A graveside service will be held at noon, Wednesday, March 16, at Gate of Heaven cemetery , Dagsboro.

Charles J. Conley,
50-year Mason
Charles J. Conley, 73, formerly of Newark and Rehoboth Beach, died Thursday, March 10, 2005, in Kingsville, Texas.
Born in Martin’s Ferry, Ohio, on Aug. 3, 1931, Mr. Conley was the son of the late Paul E. Conley and Ruth Evans Conley.
For more 35 years, he was employed with the Thiokol Corporation in Elkton, Md. and held many management positions before retiring as head of procurement in 1995.
While living in Newark, he was associated with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
A 50-year member of the Masonic Order, Mr. Conley proudly dedicated his life to fraternal service and held many important memberships and offices. For his many years of dedication, he was awarded the Distinguished Silver Medal of the General Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons in 1999.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Beverly “Buzzy” A. Denney Conley.
He is survived by five children, Dr. Pamela D. Doughty of Kingsville; Linda Raye Coleman of Newark, Melissa A. Vallejo of Oakland, Calif., Christopher E. Conley of Kingsville; and Christopher P. Conley of Lafayette, Ga.; two sisters, Pauline Maxwell of Long Beach, Calif. and Elsie Mae Kyle of Sun City, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters, Hayley Ann and Alyssa Marie.
Services were held at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, Newark, with burial in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle.

Emma Esther Dorman,

Emma Esther Dorman, 92, died Friday, March 11, 2005 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.
Mrs. Dorman was active in the Rehoboth Presbyterian Church at Midway. She was a homemaker and was known by many as “Mom Mom.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Dorman, in 1984
She is survived by two children, daughter Helen Williams and her husband Harry of Pemberton, N.J. and son Robert E. Dorman and his wife Janet of Lewes; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends my call one hour prior to the service. Rev. Keith Offen will officiate. Burial will follow at Bethel United Methodist cemetery , in Lewes.

Gladys L. DiRocco Lukaszewski,
owned beauty salons
Gladys L. DiRocco Lukaszewski, 93, of Wilmington, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2005, in the Churchmans Village Nursing Home.
A lifelong resident of Wilmington, Mrs. Lukaszewski had been a beautician. She and her husband, Carl, had owned and operated beauty salons in Wilmington, Rehoboth Beach and Daytona Beach, Fla.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, especially her caregivers, Dolly Szaroleta and Lorraine Barton.
The family wishes to thank the staff, especially the nurses, for their excellent and professional kindness shown to Gladys.
Services were held at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Wilmington, with burial in All Saints cemetery , Wilmington.

Howard L. Speicher,
retired farmer, carpenter
Howard L. Speicher, 91, of Bridgeville, died peacefully Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at Milford Senior Center-Genesis Elder Care, Milford.
Mr. Speicher was born in Accident, Md., on Sept. 25, 1913, to the late Harry and Emma Hochstedtler Speicher. He lived most of his life in Bridgeville. He was married twice and blessed with long and happy marriages. He was a retired farmer and a carpenter. He charmed everyone who knew him and his kind and generous spirit won him friends far and wide.
His faith was a central part of Mr. Speicher’s life. For more than two decades, he served as the superintendent of Epworth United Methodist Church. After its closing, he became an active member of the Bridgeville Church of God.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Louise Melson Speicher, in 1974; and Virginia Silpath Speicher, in 2002; a son, Wayne Speicher; two brothers and one sister.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Marji Speicher of Gaithersburg, Md. and Kenn and Ann Speicher of Arlington, Va.; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Don Lathbury of Laurel; a stepdaughter, Donna Silpath of Georgetown; five grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Kati, Sam and Brad; a sister, Peg Tobin of Milton; and a brother, David Speicher, of Bridgeville.
Services were held at the Bridgeville Church of God, with burial in Bridgeville cemetery.

Bronda M. Libengood,
Delmar homemaker
Bronda M. Libengood, 66, of Delmar, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005, of complications of lung cancer and heart disease, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md.
Mrs. Libengood was born in Roaring River, N.C., daughter of Etta Binge Holloway and the late Bassel B. Holloway.
She was a proud homemaker and had worked many years ago on the Cape May-Lewes Ferry while in the Merchant Marines. She also worked for a number of years as a dental hygienist in Georgetown.
She loved flowers, especially azaleas and roses and enjoyed taking walks and walking in the mall.
She was a person of extreme faith and was a member of Victory Tabernacle Church.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a special grandson, Danny.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, James R. Libengood; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Gregory and Gladys Sammons of Milton and Donald and Tammy Bunting of Delmar; two daughters and sons-in-law, Wilma and David Owens of Salisbury and Donna and Frank Thomas of Crescent City, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Angela Sammons, Tonya Wheatly, Chris Duong and his wife Jessica, Donnie Cockey and his wife, Ashley, Dean Cockey, Bronda Lee Fisher and Seth Bunting; her mother, Etta Binge Holloway; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bassel Jr. and Irene Holloway of Dagsboro and Tommy and Linda Holloway of Tennessee; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Josephine and Doug Kelley of Laurel and Kathy and Bob Souza of Salisbury; thee great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services were held in Short Funeral Home, Delmar, with burial in Maryland State Veterans cemetery , Hurlock.
Ellanora G. Wilkins,
served at Fort Miles in WWII
Ellanora G. Wilkins, 85, of Georgetown passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005.
Mrs. Wilkins was born April 7, 1919 in Lewes.
She provided voluntary service to the U.S. Army serving at Fort Miles, Lewes, during World War II. Because her three brothers served the country, she wished to participate as well working as a cook in the Mess Hall where eventually she received honorable discharge as a civilian in 1945.
Later in life for many years she worked with the Visiting Nurses Association before her retirement. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Georgetown. She was a very loving and caring person who participated significantly in the lives of her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Wilkins; her son, James H. Wilkins; and an infant daughter.
She is survived by two daughters, Jonna-Lee Davis of Georgetown and Kay W. Hudson of Millsboro; three sons, John F. of Georgetown, Wayne W. of Rehoboth Beach and Keith D. of Georgetown; eight grandchildren, Scott W. of Milton, John H. Davis III of Georgetown, David Hudson, Jr. of Baltimore, Md., Linda Hrycak of Middletown, Donald B. Wilkins of Laurel and Brandon C. Wilkins of Laurel; and several great grandchildren; and a sister, Amelia Burton of Angola.
Services were held at Grace United Methodist Church, Georgetown, with burial in Union cemetery , Georgetown.
Marie F. Cahill,
FHA clerical supervisor
Marie F. Cahill, 81 of Rehoboth Beach, died at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, Tuesday March 8, 2005. She was born and raised in Mannington, W. Va., and worked as a clerical supervisor for 20 years for the Federal Housing Administration in Washington, D.C. She and her family moved to Rehoboth Beach in 1980. She was a member of St. Edmond’s Catholic Church in Rehoboth Beach, where she had served as a financial counter for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Edward J. Cahill; a daughter and her husband, Maura Cahill and Jan T. Luigard of Silver Spring, Md.; her grandchildren, Emma, Claire and Sarah Luigard; a brother, William Francis of Florida; three sisters, Betty Lee Elliott of Riverside, Calif., Pauline Schloss of Crete, Ill. and Joan Rich of Mannington, W. Va.
Mass of Christian Burial was offered at 11:00 AM at St. Edmond’s Catholic Church, King Charles & Laurel Streets, Rehoboth Beach. Burial will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday March 15, at Gate of Heaven cemetery , Silver Spring, Md.
