Alice Mary Brewlin (Kirwin)
Age 89, of Newark, DE formerly of Elsmere, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 22, 2005 at Jeanne Jugan Residence surrounded by her family.
Born in Ireland in 1916, Mrs. Breslin was the daughter of the late Peter and Katherine (Scally) Fitzsimons. Alice cherished her family and her life long job as a rectory housekeeper for Msgr. Eugene Biggins at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and later for Father Trainor at St. Patrick's Church. She was married
to James Kirwin for 22 years. He expired in 1960. She remarried
in 1968 to Al Breslin, but he died of a heart attack 1 month later.
Alice is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James and Sheila Kirwin of Kemblesville, PA and Kevin and Denise Kirwin of Greensboro, NC; 8 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 sisters, Nancy in Ireland and Molly in England.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the Little Sisters of the Poor and all of their staff who took such loving and devoted care of their mother.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 24th between 5 and 7 pm at Jeanne Jugan Residence, 185 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE 19713 where Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday morning at 10:30 am. Interment will be at Cathedral cemetery, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Little Sister of the Poor, c/o Jeanne Jugan Residence.

Augustine P. Cerminara "Augie"
On Saturday morning, August 20, 2005, Mr. Augustine P. Cerminara, age 82, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.
Augie was born in Wilmington on March 27, 1923, son of the late Pasquale and Elizabeth (Barba) Cerminara. A veteran of the United States Army, he proudly served our country during World War II and had achieved the rank of sergeant. He attended Brown Vocational Night School and Delaware Technical & Community College. Augie was employed with Amtrak (formerly the Pennsylvania Railroad), as an electrician and retired after 42 years of service. He was also employed with Joseph Rizzo & Sons construction company as an electrician. He was an active and devoted member of the Holy Spirit parish and a member of the VFW. An avid lover of music, Augie enjoyed playing the piano, the accordion and the concertina. He also liked reading, gardening and weight lifting. His greatest pleasure throughout his life was being with his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and looked forward to the holidays when the whole family would be together.
Augie is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carmela (Rizzo) Cerminara; his sister, Theresa (Cerminara) Rizzo; his children, Elizabeth Cerminara and her husband, Charles Rutter, Pat Cerminara and his wife, Lorraine, Augie Cerminara and his wife, Cindy, Michael Cerminara and his wife, Melanie, Bernadette Grandel and her husband, Alfred, and Stephen Cerminara and his wife, Brenda; and his beloved grandchildren, Shan-non, Joseph, Kelly, Michael II, Christopher, Ryan, Marisa and Al Jr. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Augie was predeceased by his brothers, Nicholas and Frank; his sister, Rose Bonaquisti; and his grandson, Matthew.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Church, 12 Winder Rd., Garfield Park, on Friday morning, August 26, at 11:30. Entombment will follow in Cathedral cemetery. Family and friends may call at Holy Spirit Church on Thursday evening, August 25, from 6-8.

Janice M. Cutrona
Vincenza Marie Cutrona known as "Janice" and lovingly as "Gence" passed away on Monday August 22, 2005 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 82 years of age.
Mrs. Cutrona was a customer service representative for Sears for 30 years. In the 1940's she worked in her parents restaurant Florentino's. A member of St. Mary Magdalen Church, Janice was an avid reader, enjoyed bingo, and card playing especially the game 500.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John M. & Antoinette Fiorentino, and her siblings, Joseph and Michael Fiorentino and Louisa Cella. Mrs. Cutrona is survived by her husband of 60 years, Paul. F. Cutrona; 3 children, Paul J. of Wilmington, Carol A. Burk and her husband, Joel of Peachtree City, GA and Marlene M. Burleson and her husband, Kenneth of East Lansing, MI; 7 grandchildren, Paul, Sean and Christopher and their mother, Eileen Cutrona; Nicholas, Jennifer, Laura, and Nathan, and her sister-in-law, Mary Fiorentino.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday August 25, 2005 at 11 am in St. Mary Magdalen RC. Church Sharpley Rd. & Concord Pike. Linda Sparkman DiBonaventura
Age 66 of Wilmington, DE went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 20, 2005.
Born in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of Eloise Sparkman and the late Forrest V. Sparkman. Linda graduated from P.S. DuPont High School and Goldey-Beacom College. She was a longtime Girl Scout leader and community activist who loved camping, skiing, and playing all sorts of games. Mostly, Linda loved being with her family at her vacation home in Ocean City, NJ, where she spent her final days. Some of her proudest accomplishments, beside her family, were the moving of her parents' house to a new location which was documented in the News Journal, serving as general contractor in the building of her husband's business, Rudy's Auto Body Shop and hostessing many large and wonderful family pool parties.
Linda was the beloved wife of Rudy J. DiBonaventura and beloved mother of Lisa Bilodeau and her husband, Paul, and Leah DiBonaventura. She is survived by her brother, Charles Sparkman and his wife, Chesley; 5 grandchildren, Daniel, Meghan, Joshua, Zoe and Annabeth; 2 sisters-in-law, Adelaide DiBonaventura and Helen Nance; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 24th, at 11 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Ninth and Dupont Streets, with interment to follow in the Veteran's cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Tuesday, August 23rd, from 5-8 pm at Corleto & Latina Funeral Home, 808 N, Union Street.

Constance Willis Dunbar
Age 82 of Elkton, MD died Saturday, August 20, 2005.
Born in 1923 the daughter of Ruth Willis. She moved to Elkton from PA over 50 years ago. Constance graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Education. She later obtained her master's degree from the University of Delaware. She first taught at Rising Sun and then Elkton Middle School. She also taught Chemistry at Newark High School from 1960 to 1984 where she was also the Advisor to the Senior Class, Prom Advisor and Honors Society Advisor. She served on Middle States and also on the Delaware State Education Association. She was High School Chemistry Teacher of the Year in 1982.
She served on the Elkton Town Commission for 8 years and was the first female commissioner. She also served on the Maryland Municipal League as a representative of Elkton. She volunteered at the hospital as well as the Good As New Shop and also at the Fair Hill Races. She was a member of the Elkton Revitalization Committee and the Elkton United Methodist Church where she served as Choir Director for the Youth Choir at one time.
She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Sterling Ayerst Dunbar, whom she married
December 25, 1950; son, Steven Ayerst Dunbar and daughter, Amy Ruth Dunbar, both of Elkton.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2005, at Elkton United Methodist Church at 4 pm, where the family will receive friends after 3 pm. Interment will be private

Betty Cook Edmondson
Age 79 of Smyrna, DE died Sunday, August 21, 2005, at Bayhealth at Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford.
Mrs. Edmondson was born February 24, 1926 in Kenton, DE, daughter of the late William and Amy Crossley Cook. She worked as a clerk for the town of Smyrna for over 20 years before retirement. She was a graduate of Goldey College in Wilmington, DE, a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Smyrna, and a former treasurer of the Smyrna Swim Club. Her favorite hobby was needlepoint.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marian Cook Phillips; and a brother, Allen J. Cook. She is survived by her husband, Guy Edmondson; daughter, Marjorie Sloan of Westerville, OH; son, Dr. G. Mitchell Edmondson of Milford, DE; brother, Allen J. Cook of Wyoming, DE; and 2 grandchildren, Marilyn Sloan and Anna Lee Edmondson.
A memorial service will be held 11 am Friday, August 26, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 22 N. Union St., Smyrna, DE. Burial will be private.

Richard Gielis
Age 62 of Wilmington, DE died peacefully on Saturday, August 20, 2005, surrounded by his family.
Richard retired from DuPont and CSC after 30 years of service. He enjoyed cooking, fishing and photography.
Richard is survived by his wife, Peggy; and his daughters, Elise Sheetz and her husband, David, Megan Majewski and her husband, Michael, and Bridget Gielis. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lucy, Olivia and Ethan; and by his sister, Ursula Lux.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial mass at St. Ann's Church, Gilpin and N. Union Streets, Wilmington, on Wednesday August 24, 2005, at 11:30 am. Burial will be held privately with the family.
