F. Ned Hearn

Age 86 of Seaford, DE died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at his late residence.

He was born on June 21, 1918 at Old Furnace near Seaford, DE, son of the late Walter M. Hearn and Martha Riggin Hearn. Mr. Hearn was a long-distance truck driver for Service Trucking in Federalsburg, MD. He later purchased the family farm and began raising poultry for Perdue, as well as doing agriculture farming for over 40 years. He was a member of the Nanticoke Masonic Lodge #172 AF&AM of Federalsburg for over 50 years. He was also a member of Nur Temple in New Castle, the Lower Delaware Shrine Club, the Eastern Shore Shrine Club, Kent & Sussex Scottish Rite Clubs, and the Order of the Eastern Star Caroline Chapter #062 in Denton, MD. Mr. Hearn did extensive traveling and hiking with his wife of 59 years, Marian (Glessner) Hearn. He was also an avid hunter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a nephew, Hearn Myer of Bridgeville; and a niece, Lorraine Myer Little of Bridgeville.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of F. Ned Hearn will be held Saturday, March 12, 2005, at 11 am at Concord United Methodist Church, 25322 Church Rd., Concord, Seaford, DE, with Pastor Diane Melson officiating. Masonic rites will be conducted at 10:50 am at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Mt. Zion cemetery in Fair Hope, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Concord United Methodist Church, c/o Treasurer Marvin Lloyd, 12560 Concord Rd., Seaford, DE 19973. Services performed under the direction of PARSELL FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATORIUM, Hardesty Chapel, Bridgeville, DE

Jean (Clifton) Holleger

Age 70 of Frederica, DE died Thursday, March 3, 2005 at Country Rest Home, Greenwood. Viewing 11:30 and service 1:30 pm Tuesday, March 8, at the BERRY SHORT FUNERAL HOME, 119 NW Front St., Milford, DE 19963.

John Wilson Robinson

Age 71, died Friday, February 25, 2005.

John was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice; and brother, Ronald. He is survived by his former wife, Betty Robinson; 2 stepdaughters, Elizabeth (Stan) and Tina (Joe); 4 grandsons; and cousin, Judy LeFever, of NC.

John was free spirited and had a kind heart. He will be missed.

Services will be private.

Age 92 of Camden, DE died Thursday, March 3, 2005 at the Silver Lake Center. Service 1:30 pm Monday, March 7, 2005 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, State St., Dover. PIPPIN FUNERAL HOME, Wyoming, DE

Ruby Irene Ross Masten

Age 81 of Seaford DE died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford.

Born in Waynesboro, VA, daughter of the late Mary Reed and Dewey Ross, she was a telephone operator for AT&T, retiring in 1986 after 33 years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and St. John's United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, M. Norwood Masten; sons, Stephen M. Masten and his companion, Irene Brown, of Seaford, DE; Mark A. Masten of Seaford, DE and Eric W. and Grace Masten of Lewes, DE; a sister, Virginia Stine-spring of Staunton, VA; 5 grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn, Aman-da and Sara Emily Masten, Kristen and Erik Dowell; and 1 great grandchild, Dylan.

The funeral service will be Monday, March 7, 2005, at 11 am at St. John's United Methodist Church, Pine and Poplar Streets, Seaford, DE. where friends may call from 10-11 am prior to the services. The Reverend Rich Evans will officiate. Burial will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery in Millsboro, DE, with a committal service at 1 pm.

Age 62 of Wilmington, DE died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at Arbors Nursing Home. Funeral 11:30 am Monday, March 7, at THE HOUSE OF WRIGHT MORTUARY, 208 E. 35th St., Wilmington, where family and friends may call 10:30-11:30.

Jennie M. (Kilijan) Pudlo "Grandmom"

Age 90 of Mickelton, NJ died Tuesday, March 3, 2005, at Underwood Memorial Hospital in Woodbury.

Mrs. Pudlo was born in Philadelphia, PA and lived in Wilmington, DE for many years before moving to Mickleton, NJ in 1983. She was a homemaker who enjoyed word search puzzles, cooking and playing bingo.

She is survived by her children, Stanley and Doris W. Pudlo of Hockessin, DE and Joanne and Buddy Wardell of Newport, DE; her grandchildren, Kathy and MIke Nicotra with whom she made her home, Pam Titus, Michael Prather, Mark David Pudlo and Paul Matthew Pudlo; her great grandchildren, Mike, Steven and Katie Nicotra, Kevin and Jennifer Titus and Emily and Michael Prather, Jr.; her brother, Jessie of Wilmington, DE; and her caregiver, Catherine. Mrs. Pudlo was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Pudlo, Sr.

The funeral service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at the MCBRIDE-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 228 W. Broad St., Paulsboro, NJ. Friends may call Monday evening, March 7, 2005, from 7-9 pm and again Tuesday morning from 9 am until the service time. Interment will be in Cathedral cemetery in Wilmington, DE.

Sara D. Reed

Age 91 of Lewes, DE died Thursday, March 3, 2005, at the Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.

She was born in Lewes, daughter of the late Theodore and Sadie (Thompson) Donovan. Sara was a homemaker and a lifetime member of the Rehoboth Presbyterian Church of Midway and their church organist for 70 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Alvin F. Reed, in 1987. She is survived by 2 daughters, Kay Mullen and her husband, John, of West Grove, PA and Bette Phillips and her husband, Lou, of Lewes. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Gary Futcher, Brenda Phillips, Clint Phillips, Gail Schiefelbein, Greg Mullen and Andrea Robillard; and 10 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 6th, at 2 pm in the chapel of Melson Funeral Services of Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, where friends may call after 1 pm. Interment will be in the Rehoboth Presbyterian Church of Midway cemetery, 4470 Hwy.1, Rehoboth Beach. Keith Offen will officiate.

Sophie C. Ruggiero (DeLellis)

Age 95 of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 2, 2005.

Sophie was a homemaker who enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren that visited her frequently.

She was the daughter of the late Antonio and Josephine M. DeLellis and was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, who passed away in 1977; and her sisters, Victoria Marini, Marie Dandrea; and her brother, Vincent DeLellis. She is survived by her son, Anthony Ruggiero and his wife, Bertha; and daughter, Alice Crowley and her husband, Joseph; sisters ,Angela Campese and Ellen DeLellis; 6 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the CORLETO LATINA FUNERAL HOME at 8th and Union Streets in Wilmington between the hours of 9 and 11 am on Monday, March 7, 2005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 am at St. Anthony's RC Church at 9th and DuPont Streets in Wilmington. Entombment will be at Cathedral cemetery.

Sara Jane Morris Sapna

Age 83 of Seaford, DE died Thursday, March 3, 2005,the at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD.

Born in Wilmington, DE to the late Melissa Tubbs and William James Morris, she was a homemaker and a longtime member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Seaford and a member of PENCO Corp. Board of Directors from 1970-1986. She enjoyed playing scrabble. She enjoyed her family and friends and her pet springer spaniel, Shaney.

She is survived by her son, George H. II and his wife, Carol Sapna, of Seaford; and daughters, Carol S. and her husband, Richard A. Broadbent, of Hockessin, DE, Jane S. Jaber of Newark, DE, Jeanne S. and her husband, Skip Pepo, of Houston, DE and Julia S. and her husband, David Reese, of Plantation, FL. Other survivors include sister-in-law, Kitti Nanni of Wilmington, DE; and 12 grandchildren, George H. III, Scott and Katie Sapna, Lisa DiOssi, Kim McCloskey, Jennifer Marine, Alex Broadbent, Sara and Josh Jaber, Doug Pepo and Derek and Zach Reese; and 8 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Harry Sapna in 1993; 3 brothers, Bronnel, Samuel William and E. Denver Morris; and sisters, Gladys M. Wilkens and Naomi Siver.

There will be a funeral service at 2 pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at St. John's United Methodist Church, Pine & Poplar Streets, Seaford, DE, where friends may call from 1-2 pm prior to the service. The Reverend Boyd B. Etter will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows cemetery in Seaford, DE.
