Dean R. Schafer

On Monday afternoon, February 28, 2005, Dean, age 51, left this world behind and proceeded on to the next step of his journey into the kingdom of God.

Dean was a wonderful husband, an extremely loving father and a dear friend to many. He was an avid video player. He was also a "motorhead" from the beginning, from his hotrod Camaro as a teenager to his Buick Grand National, to the Vette he never managed to attain. "We're certain he's racing around heaven in a shiny new C-6 as we grieve." He graduated from William Penn HIgh School in 1971. Dean was a man of great dedication, having worked for New Castle County as a licensed wastewater treatment plant operator for 34 years. the only job he ever had. He was an accomplished musician, having played keyboards in the bands "Outlet" and "Castle" in the 70s and 80s. He liked visiting the Poconos where he grew up, and loved spending time at his beach house. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, from his co-workers at the county, to his friends and his playstation partners, Johnny Calvetti and Chris Leary. Dean was always helping and thinking of others. Being an organ donor, he is still helping others from heaven.
