Richard Hadley Fuller,

Richard Hadley Fuller, 82, of Milford, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at his daughter’s Georgetown home.
Mr. Fuller was born in Lawrence, Mass., the son of the late Everett and Mildred Fuller. He was formerly employed with the city of Rehoboth Beach meter department and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Orzel, in 2003.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley M. Fuller; five sons, Richard, Laurence, Robert, Joseph and Christopher; two daughters, Mary Ellen Fuller and Patricia Worpek; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 11, at Our Lady of Good Council Church in Secretary, Md. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery
South in Millsboro at a later date.

Daniel C. Moore,
truck driver
Daniel C. Moore, 67, of Dagsboro, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at home.
Mr. Moore was born in Millsboro, the son of the late Edwin and Dorothy Moore. He was a truck driver with Parker Block Co. in Millsboro for 14 years, and was a member of the National Guard for three years.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; three sons, Daniel C. Jr., Wayne and Steven; a stepson, Keith Marvel; a daughter, Linda Mitchell; a stepdaughter, Virginia Willey; two brothers, Lester and Robert Moore; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 11, at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Thatcher Street, Frankford, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Interment will be in the Prince George’s cemetery , Dagsboro.

Albert H. “Philip” Martin,
ran Lewes charter boats
Albert H. “Philip” Martin, 75, of Selinsgrove, Pa., died Monday, March 7, 2005, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Pa.
Mr. Martin was born March 20, 1929, in Snyder County, son of the late Raymond L. and Florence E. Martin Hare. On Dec. 24, 1949, he married Bessie A. Bierly, who survives him.
He attended Selinsgrove High School. In 1946, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and as a fireman second class earned the World War II Victory Medal.
For most of his life he was a supervisor for Bethlehem Steel, retiring after 28 years of service. After his retirement, he chartered his own fishing boat, Dolphin and Dolphin II, in Lewes, until failing health forced him to finally retire in 2003.
He was a life member of DH&L Fire Co. in Selinsgrove.
His greatest passion was hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and her companion, Donna R. Laudenslager and Doc Doom of Syracuse, Ind.; a son and daughter-in-law, Philip R. and Wendy S. Martin of Selinsgrove; four grandchildren, Chris A. Laudenslager and his wife Lisa of Selinsgrove, Cassi Martin and her fiancé, Jason Marks, Kaitlyn and Kayla Martin, at home; three great-grandchildren, Britni Griffith, Christopher Laudenslager Jr. and Hunter Laudenslager; a sister, Helen Zimmerman of Lewes; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High Street, Selinsgrove, Pa.

George A. Gibason Sr.,

George A. “Jake” Gibason Sr., 81, of New Castle, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at home.
Mr. Gibason served in the U.S. Army in WWII. He was a firefighter with the City of Wilmington for 20 years and later worked as a driver for Brooks Armored Car. More recently he was employed with the Delaware River and Bay authority, retiring after 12 years of service. Mr. Gibason enjoyed traveling and visiting casinos.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen E. Hess Gibason; three children, George A. Gibason Jr. and his wife, Anna Marie, of New Castle, Sandra L. Cooper of New Castle and Alfred E. Gibason of Boca Raton, Fla.; a sister, Audrey J. Johnson of Lewes; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services wee held privately.

Richard A. Kennedy,
food and safety inspector
Richard A. Kennedy, 64, of Milford, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Kennedy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was employed for 34 years with the U.S.D.A. as a food and safety inspector at various plants on the Delmarva Peninsula and in other states, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed surf fishing, camping, square dancing and fellowship at the Milford Diner. He was a member of Carlisle Fire Col in Milford, Milford Elks Lodge 2401, Harrington Moose Lodge 534 and Calvary United Methodist Church in Milford.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Margaret A. Kennedy; a son and daughter-in-law, John F. and Alexandra Gray of Greenwood; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Cheryl and Tim Wood of Delaware, Oh., Karen and Erin Chaffinch of Greenwood and Joni Gray of Milton; a sister, Roberta Korona of Magnolia; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nephews; and one niece.
Services wee held at Calvary United Methodist Church with burial in Milford Community cemetery.

Kathleen G. Hamilton,

Kathleen Greenwood Hamilton, 43, of Long Neck, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at home.
She was born in Bristol, Pa., the daughter of Donald and Barbara Greenwood. Kathy was a 1979 graduate of Maple Point High School in Langhorne, Pa. and attended Millersville University. She was interested in art and photography and was a devoted mother, wife, sister, daughter and aunt. She will be sadly missed by all.
She is survived by her husband of 11 years, William “Chip” R. Hamilton; a son, Jeremy; her parents; and brother Donald Greenwood Jr. of Fairless Hills, Pa.
A memorial service will be held at11 a.m., Saturday, march 12, in the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road.

Grace Murray Murphy,
Rehoboth resident
Grace Eleanor (Murray) Murphy, 81, of Rehoboth Beach, died at home Monday, Feb. 28, 2005.
Born in Hagerstown, Md., Mrs. Murphy and her husband, Donald, moved to Rehoboth Beach in 1949 and resided in the same ocean block home since 1954. In addition to being a homemaker, she was involved in the family’s varied business interests in the resort area. She was a longtime and active member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Rehoboth.
Mrs. Murphy was predeceased by her husband Donald in 2001.
She is survived by her children, Allison Vernon of Rehoboth Beach; Mark Murphy of Newark; and Laura Mitchell of Rehoboth Beach; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m., Friday, March 11, at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 18 Olive Ave., Rehoboth Beach.

Geneva Pepper Morris,
Lewes shoe store owner
Geneva Waples Pepper Morris, 92, formerly of Lewes, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2005, in Minnesota, where she had resided for two-and-a-half years.
She was born Aug. 4, 1912, to the late Emile and Annie Pepper and had was also preceded in death by her husband, Capt. J. Edgar Hopkins Morris, and five siblings, Lena Hall, Charles Pepper, Ruth Pepper, Kline Pepper and Cathryn Sharp, as well as a grandson, Jacob Morris.
She is survived by a daughter, Nicki Carlsten of Enid, Okla. and her husband, Rolf, and their children and grandchildren, Ingrid Carlsten Sadler and husband Brent, Brandon and Eva; Astrid Carlsten Elliott and Lee Elliott, and Grand and Arden; a daughter, Emilie and husband Dean Fitch of Plymouth, Minn. and children Nicholas and Heather Fitch, Lily Fitch, Andrew Fitch, Alec, Bailey and Emma; Gregory and Christine Fitch with Caitlin and Jacob; and son, Jack and his wife, Laura Morris of Richmond, Va. and their children, Julia and Madeline; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Geneva was the youngest of her siblings and grew up on her family farm on what is now Hudson Road in Cool Spring. She attended West Hill School, a one-room country school for the first six grades, and then went into Lewes for grades 7-12. Her father was instrumental in getting a school bus route to serve the area so she was one of the first students to ride the bus into town.
She told of not being sure of herself with the “town kids” until winning a spelling bee during the first week of school and thus gaining confidence. During her teen and young adult years she was an active participant in 4-H. She graduated from Lewes High School at age 16 in 1929 and immediately went to work for the school as a secretary. She had a life-long admiration for Richard Shields, then superintendent, who was her mentor.
Over the next 11 years, she served the school as secretary, “nurse,” detention hall monitor, librarian, and even taught penmanship. For two summers she attended classes at Beacom College in Wilmington and finished her coursework with an A+ average.
Her children were born during the 13-year span of 1939-52. For many years she lovingly cared for them while volunteering at Bethel United Methodist Church, the PTA, Girl Scouts and Lewes Little League. She was a member of the Zwaanendael Women’s Club and Lewes Historical Society.
In 1960, she and her husband bought Scott’s Shoe Store on Second Street in Lewes. It was her project, but also their hope that Capt. Morris could retire from his position as a captain with Sun Oil Company. This was not to be, as he died suddenly in 1963.
Mrs. Morris owned and operated Morris Shoe Store on Second Street and later on Kings Highway for 40 years. Retiring with the closing of the store in 2002 at age 88, she moved to Minnesota to be near family, having lived her first 90 years in the Cape Henlopen School District. She was honored with being selected to be a grand marshal of the Lewes Christmas Parade in 2000.
Plans for memorials, a memorial service and burial in Lewes will be announced at a later date.
Jean Clifton Holleger,
senior center member
Jean Clifton Holleger, 70, of Frederica died Thursday, March 3, 2005, in Country Rest Home, Greenwood.
Mrs. Holleger was born Jan. 31, 1935, in Harbeson, daughter of the late Howard and Delberta Clifton.
She resided in Frederica most of her life. She was a homemaker and in her earlier years had worked for DuPont, in a bank and most recently, in the 1980s, as a dietary aide in a nursing home.
She enjoyed baking, cooking and gardening and also liked to travel and go camping.
Mrs. Holleger was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Frederica, and the senior center in Frederica and was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Frederica Volunteer Fire Co.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Holleger, in January 2005.
She is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Janice and Ken Weiss of Milford and Karen and Rick Sharp of Milton; two sons and two daughters-in-laws, Craig and Debbie Holleger of Lincoln and Richard and Judy Holleger of Harrington; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Holleger, Brian Holleger, Keith Holleger, Heather Holleger, Heidi Holleger, Jennifer Sharp and Nicole Sharp; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, in Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front Street, Milford, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Henlopen Memorial Park near Milton.

Pamela Jane Rogers Heisler,
devoted to family
Pamela Jane Rogers Heisler, 43, of Lewes, died Friday, March 4, 2005, at Harbor Healthcare in Lewes.
Ms. Heisler was born in New London, Conn., the daughter of Daniel and Lois J. Biddle Rogers. She moved to this area in 1976 from Montville, Conn. She loved being outdoors and loved animals of all kinds. She enjoyed horseback riding, reading books and writing. Her greatest loves were her family and being at the ocean.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Duane and Daniel Rogers.
She is survived by her parents, Daniel and Lois Rogers of Milton; three children, Jody Heisler of Lewes, Ray Heisler of Germantown, Md. and Jason Heisler of Silver Spring, Md.; a sister, Madell M. Stark of Lancaster, Pa.; two grandchildren, Christopher M. and Jazmin L. Heisler.
Services were held at Eagles Nest Fellowship Church, Milton, with burial at the convenience of the family.

Benjamin H. Beckett,
forklift operator
Benjamin H. Beckett, 77, of Millsboro, died Wednesday, March 2m 2995, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.
Mr. Beckett was born in Frankford to the late Edward T. and Emma Elizabeth McCray Beckett.
He was a forklift operator for Parker Block Company, Millsboro, for 36 years, retiring in 1992. He became a dedicated volunteer at the Christian Storehouse in Millsboro since his retirement.
Mr. Beckett was a lifelong member of Antioch AME Church in Frankford; his activities in the church have included serving in the male chorus and as its president for five years, membership in the Frankford Crusaders for 27 years; member of the Sons and Daughters Chorus for more than 56 years and president for more than 40 years. He also served as a steward and trustee and was named an honorary steward by Rev. Calvin Price. He was chairman of homecoming for many years and served as camp meeting chairman for a number of years. He was the band captain for the praying and singing band.
Mr. Beckett was also a Mason for many years in Prince Hall Lodge 14, and served in different capacities over the years, including district chaplain and grand chaplain, grand chaplain emeritus, honorary grand master. He was a charter member and chaplain of the G. Oscar Consistory 93. He was elevated to the 33rd degree in May 1977, a member and chaplain of the Commander of the Rites, Orient of Delaware.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mildred Houston Beckett; three children, Gloria Duffy of Millsboro; Shirley Beckett Roberts of Bear and Benjamin E. Beckett of Felton; two sons-in-law, William Duffy and Brian Roberts; a future daughter-in-law, Lisa Thomas; five grandchildren, Troy, Leah, Marcus, Melissa and Christopher; a great-grandchild, Tyzhir; three brothers, George, Alexander and Wilson Beckett; a sister, Rachel Houston; brothers-in-law, Harry Houston Sr. and William Beckett; and sisters-in-laws, Ollie Houston, Kathleen Houston and Rosie, Blanche, Laura and Anna Beckett.
Services were held at Dickerson Chapel AME Church, south of Millsboro, with burial in Antioch Church cemetery , Frankford.
