Also survived by son-in-law, Ronald Wal-lace; 1 grandson, Brian Jr.; & a host of other family & friends. Funeral 11 am Fri., Aug. 8 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 2200 N. Claymont St. Viewing 9-11. Age 53, passed away Aug. 1, 2003 in Christiana Hospital. Beloved son of Jacqueline Watson Brown & the late William J. Brown. Loving brother of Willetta Brown Stamp & Vanessa Brown Kelly & her husband, John. Grandson of Anna Watson. Also survived by nieces & nephews, Julian, Travis, John III, Gebrette (& husband, Norman); 1 great aunt & uncle, Florence Horsey & Lester Watson; other family & friends. Funeral 12 noon Thurs., Aug. 7 at St. John African Methodist Church, Hillside & New London Ave., Newark. Viewing 10-12 noon. Interment in Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery. Arr. by CONGO F.H.

Frank J. Castiglione

Of Newark, DE, formerly of Carteret and New Brunswick, NJ, went home to the Lord on August 4, 2003.

Husband for 21 years to Jean C. Castiglione.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7 and Friday, August 8 from 6-9 pm in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in Carteret, NJ at the Holy Family Church Parish Center, 213 Pershing Ave. on Saturday, August 9, 2003 at 10:30 am, where friends may visit with the family 1 hour prior to the mass.

Burial will be in St. Gertrude's cemetery, Colonia, NJ.

Roger Lee Everett, III

Age 44 of Wilmington, DE died Saturday, August 2, 2003 at St. Francis Hospital.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Linda; 1 daughter, Monique Everett; and 4 sons, Roger Everett, Sieque Medley and Kevin and Vernon Hunter. Other survivors include his mother, Dora Everett Johnson (Robert); brother, Tonny S. Everett (Lori); 2 sisters, Barbara Brown and Laura Watts; 7 grandchildren; devoted friend, Shirley Brooks; and many aunts, uncles, cousin, nieces, nephews and other friends.

There will be a funeral service at 12 noon on Thursday, August 7th at The House of Wright Mortuary, 208 E. 35th St., Wilmington DE, where family and friends may call from 10-12 noon.

Anthony D. Guida, Sr.

Age 81 of Glen Berne Estates passed away on Monday, August 4, 2003 at Christiana Hospital.

Tony retired in 1976 from Gulf Oil Co. after 29 years as an oil burner mechanic. He was a WWII Army veteran, serving with the Aviation Engineers in the pacific theatre in Marshall, Guam and Okinawa and was awarded the Bronze Star. He enjoyed gardening and was an all around handyman.

Tony is survived by his wife, Frances Picollelli Guida; his children, Barbara Founds and her husband, Rodney, Joan Lofink and her husband, Joseph, and Anthony D. Guida, Jr. and his wife, Kim; his sister, Minnie Barranco; his grandchildren, Lisa, Joseph, Cindy, Wendy, Nicholas and Angela; and 10 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 am on Thursday, August 7, 2003 at St. Matthew's R.C. Church, 1 Curtis Ave., Woodcrest. Friends may call at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Kirkwood Hwy. & Duncan Rd., on Wednesday, August 6, 2003 from 6-8 pm and again on Thursday from 9:30- 10. Entombment will be in Cathedral cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Rd., Wilmington, DE 19810; or to Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Rd., Newark, DE 19713.

Betty J. Hall

Age 77 of Dover, DE died Monday, August 4, 2003 at Genesis Eldercare, Silverlake Ctr., Dover. Memorial service at 11 am on Friday, August 8 at the TORBERT FUNERAL CHAPEL, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover.

Daniel J. Hill "Heavy"

Age 34 of North Wilmington, DE passed away Friday, August 1, 2003 at home.

He was a contractor for DuPont Equipment and Service Company for 3 years. Daniel enjoyed automobile restoration and racing and spending time with his family and friends. "Beloved son, loving uncle and brother, no one can replace you, ever, no other. Blessed and secure, you may now rest. You're still always better, #1, the best. Loving memories." Daniel was the husband of the late beloved Jacqueline M. Hill. He was also predeceased by his grandfather, James M. Curry. Survivors include his parents, Margaret M. and Charles L. Jackson of Claymont; 2 brothers, John A. Hill of Wilmington and David A. Hill and his wife, Sharon M., of Claymont; grandparents, Iva M. Mastro of Claymont, Theresa Curry of Marcus Hook, PA and Alfred Lutts of DE; 4 nieces, Jessica, Samantha, Johana and Ashley Hill; 2 nephews, David and Joshua Hill; mother-in-law, Kathleen Kwasizur of Claymont and the entire Kwasizur family; and a host of aunts and uncles.

The funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, August 8, 2003 at the Gebhart Funeral Home, 3401 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE, where visitation will be Friday morning beginning at 10 am.

Ruth Sidwell Hirsch

Age 82 passed away on Monday, August 4, 2003 in the Wilmington Hospital.

Mrs. Hirsch was a secretary for Conrad High School. Ruth touched the hearts and always saw the best in everyone she met. She enjoyed cooking, crafts and loved doing cryptograms. Mrs. Hirsch was a member of Aldergates United Methodist Church.

Ruth leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 55 years, Fred Hirsch; 2 daughters, Vicki E. Hirsch of NY and Nancy Rich and her husband, William, of Boca Raton, FL; and 1 sister, Ester McDowell and her husband, H. Francis, of Northeast, MD.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, August 7 in the MCCRERY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 3924 Concord Pike, Talleyville, where friends may call after 12:30 pm. Burial will be in St. James Church cemetery in Newport.

Margaret Jane McCorkle McCune

Age 86 of Seaford, DE died August 1, 2003. Memorial service 10 am Friday, August 22 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Front St, Seaford.

Samuel J. Medkeff, Jr.

Age 50 of Stockley Center in Georgetown, DE died Monday, August 4, 2003 at the Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.

Sam was born in Norfolk, VA to Ruby Russell Medkeff of Newark, DE and the late Samuel J. Medkeff, Sr. He will be remembered by everyone he met for his big smile.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his brother, Robert Medkeff of Newark; 2 sisters, Mary-Ellin Parsons and Lorna Baird, both of Wilmington; 3 nieces; 1 nephew; and many friends at Stockley Center.

There will be funeral service at 10 am on Thursday, August 7 in the chapel at Stockley Center in Georgetown, where friends may call after 9:15 am. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery in Millsboro.

The family suggests donations to Special Olympics, c/o the University of Delaware, 619 S. College Ave., Newark, DE 19716-1901.

Clinton E. Overstreet "Pop-Pop"

Age 88 died at home on Sunday, August 3, 2003.

Mr. Overstreet was a custodian with the Wilmington Medical Center, retiring in 1977.

Fondly called "Pop-Pop", he was known for visiting his friends every day at the Wendy's in University Plaza and the shops in the Taylortown Convenience Center.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Mayme L. Overstreet, in 2001.

He will be greatly missed by his daughter and son-in-law with whom he lived, Carol L. and Ronald O. Jochen of Wilmington; his sister, Margie Chancey of FL; and 2 grandsons, Michael E. Wright of Wilmington, Thomas E. Wright of Elkton, MD; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 8, 2003 at the MCCRERY MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Kirkwood Hwy. & Duncan Rd., where friends may call after 10 am.

Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park.

Emanuel K. Kountourzis

Age 45 of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at home on August 11, 2003.

He was born in Greece and was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and Widener University. He was a chef and restaurant manager for 20 years.

He is survived by his parents, Konstantinos and Maria Kountourzis with whom he lived; his brother and sister-in-law, George and Susie Kountourzis; 2 nephews, Adam and Alex; 1 niece, Katie; and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2003 at 11 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 808 N. Broom St. Wilmington, DE 19806, where friends may call after 9:30 am. Burial will be in the Lombardy cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
