Richard D. Wells Sr.,
retired truck driver
Richard D. Wells Sr., 68. a lifelong Milton resident, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2005, at Bayhealth at Milford Memorial Hospital.
He was the son of the late David Alfred and Ollie Mitchell Wells. Mr. Wells had driven an oil delivery truck for many years, most recently for Wilson Baker co., retiring several years ago due to disability. He attended Milton Wesleyan Church and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 2316 of Milford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richard Dallas “Dickie” Wells in 1996; three brothers, Martin A. Wells, Marshall Wells and Paul Wells; and two sisters, Clara Smith and Mabel Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sallie Patricia “Patsy” Hadder Wells; a son, H. Martin Wells of Milton; three grandchildren, Haley Wells, Johnathon Wells and Jeremy Hurd; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Burial will be in White’s Chapel cemetery , Milton. A reception will follow the services at Milton VFW Post 6984, Atlantic St., Milton.

Jamon Bogott,
Lewes native
Jamon Bogott, 70, of Sterling, Ill., died Friday, March 4, 2005, at home.
Jamon was born in Lewes, the daughter of the late William S. and Scotty Ingram. She married Robert C. Bogott in 1956 in Wilmington. He preceded her in death Feb. 10, 2000. She was a very devoted and loving wife, mother and friend.
She is survived by four daughters, Sally J. Scott Noyes of New Vernon, N.J., Kathryn S. Ohlinger of Wilmington, Leslie J. Troye of Stering and Jaye J. Deans of Suwanee, Ga.; a son, R.W. Clay Bogott of Huntington Beach, Ca.; her twin sister, Janey Fralin of Roanoke, Va.; a brother, William S. Ingram Jr. of Lewes; and 11 grandchildren.
Services were held at the Reformed Mennonite Meeting House, Sterling, Ill.
Audrey W. Holloway,
retired telephone operator
Audrey W. Holloway, 79, formerly of Laurel and Millsboro, died Monday, April 4, 2005, at Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital, Baltimore, MD.
She was a retired telephone operator with Diamond State Telephone Co. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Paul Holloway, in 1968.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Gordy; a brother, John W. West; a sister, Florence Waller; and three grandchildren.
Services were held at Melson Funeral Services, Long Neck Road. Burial was in Millsboro cemetery.
Marion F. Hudson,
poultry grower
Marion F. Hudson, 81, died peacefully, surrounded by members of her family, Thursday, April 7, at her home in Williamsville.
Mrs. Hudson was born May 24, 1923, in Williamsville, to the late Elmo H. and Ida Isabelle (Harrison) Gray.
She married Preston A. Hudson Sr. in 1940. She was a poultry grower for Townsends for more than 20 years and operated a fruit stand near her home. She was also a member of Sound United Methodist Church in Williamsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and a sister.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet L. Wiggin and her husband Larry, of Millsboro; a son, Preston Hudson Jr. of Selbyville; five grandchildren, Kevin M. Whitten and his wife Joyce of Hope Mills, N.C., Kelly J. Whitten of Milford, Kristen Whitten of Atlanta, Ga., Preston Hudson III and his wife Lih of Duval, Wash., and Debra M. Hudson of Selbyville; a great-granddaughter, Jessica L. Whitten of Hope Mills, N.C.; a sister, Julien Rucinski and her husband Edward of Wilmington; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, at the chapel of Melson Funeral Home, Thatcher Street, Frankford, with burial in Bishopville cemetery , Bishopville, Md.

Roy A. Long,
truck driver
Roy A. Long, 51, of Delmar, Md., died peacefully Wednesday, April 6, 2005, in Coastal Hospice on the Lake, Salisbury, Md.
Mr. Long was born May 12, 1953, in Lewes, son of Robert Long and the late Eleanor Hitchens Long.
He was a longtime truck driver.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Robert and Ann Long of Millsboro; his longtime special friend and companion, Marie Ruark of Delmar; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Terry Long of Ocean View; a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Ann and Pat Patterson of Millsboro; and a stepbrother, Ronald Clausen of Smyrna.
Services were held at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro, with burial in Dagsboro Redmen’s cemetery , Dagsboro.
Karen Lynn Schueler Siegmund,
vice president of Heritage Jewelers
Karen Lynn Schueler Siegmund, 51, died Thursday, April 7, 2005 surrounded by her loving family at her residence in Milton.
Born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Ruth Robinson and Arnold P. Schueler, Mrs. Siegmund was vice-president of Heritage Jewelers Ltd. Seaford, and was a Gemological Institute of America Certified Diamond Appraiser. Karen loved all aspects of working with jewelry and her clients. She was a 1971 graduate of Seaford High School and a 1975 summa cum laude graduate of James Madison University. She was a member of Mount Olivet United Methodist of Seaford. Karen loved gardening, reading, boating her family her cottage on the Sassafrass River and loved animals.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, William A. Siegmund Jr.; her sisters, Janet R. Lundquist and husband Dan of Seaford, Sara L. Devleeschouwer and husband Georges of Frederica and Christene A. Wasson and husband Richard of Seaford; her dogs Daisy and Lily; her best buddy, Judy Whiting of Stevens City, Va.; seven nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a stepson, William A. Zimmerman in 1993.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 12,. in Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, High Street, Seaford. Revs. Thomas Gross and Earle N. Baker will officiate.

Joseph M. “Joey” Barzoloski,

Joseph M. “Joey” Barzoloski, 43, of Milford, died Thursday, April 7, 2005 in Bayhealth Medical Center at Milford Memorial Hospital. He was born in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., the son of Lawrence L. Barzoloski of Kinsale, Va. and Sylvia S. (Chrzan) Barzoloski of Milford. He was an accountant with the Delaware Dept of Transportation until becoming disabled in December of 2004. He was very close to his family and enjoyed helping people. He liked going to the beach and loved working on his computer.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother and sister- in-law, Lawrence E. and Mary R. Barzoloski of Mechanicsville, Va.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary C. Barzoloski and her husband, Richard Larkworthy of McLean, Va., and Barbara Ann and John O’Connor of Sykesville, Md.; and four nephews and one niece .
Services were hand at the Lofland Funeral Home, Milford, with burial in Milford Community cemetery , Milford.

Mary A. Pokorny,
retired teacher
Mary A. Pokorny, 93, of Rehoboth Beach, formerly of Towson, Md., died Thursday, April 7, 2005, at Methodist Manor House in Seaford.
Mrs. Pokorny was born March 29,1912 in Sunbury, Pa. She graduated from Millersville University in 1934. She was an elementary school teacher in the Shamokin, Pa. area school system for 37 years. While living in Shamokin, she was active in the Elks Ladies Auxiliary, American Association of University Women, the Shamokin Women’s Club and the Shamokin Area Education Association. Upon retirement, Mrs. Pokorny resided in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and Towson, Md., before moving to Rehoboth Beach in 1996. While living in Rehoboth Beach, she was an active member of the Cape Henlopen Senior Center and the Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Pokorny was predeceased by her husband Theodore R. Pokorny Sr.
She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Jo Pokorny of Rehoboth Beach; two grandchildren, Philip Pokorny of Baltimore, Md., and Kerri Lempko of Amherst, N.Y.; and a great grandson Jack Lempko, also of Amherst.
Services were held at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, with burial in at Pomfret Manor cemetery
in Sunbury, Pa.

Elizbeth Ann Steele,
“Mrs. Santa Claus”
Elizbeth Ann Steele, 79, of Kings Highway, Lewes, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at her residence.
Mrs. Steele moved to Lewes in 1947 from Chester, Pa. She loved to dress up in costumes. For many years she was Mrs. Santa Claus for holiday parades and events as well as a clown and an elf at other times of the year. She had quite a memory and loved to talk about what was happening locally before the events actually took place. Mrs. Steele was also known for being a great cook, always wanting to feed everybody. Families came to her requesting specific dishes baked for their special events.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Ayres R. Steele, who passed away in 1995; a daughter: Mary Cecelia Steele; and two brothers, Howard Harkins and Harry Harkins.
She is survived by her son, Charles Steele and his wife, Sandy of Milton; and a sister, Margaret Edwards of Lewes.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, at Epworth Methodist cemetery
in Rehoboth Beach.

John R. ‘Jack’ Donohue Jr.,
Long Neck proprietor
John R. “Jack” Donohue Jr., 69, of Millsboro, died Thursday, April 7, 2005, at Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Mr. Donohue was a former district manager of the “Wilmington News Journal” and recently the manager of Back Bay Pizza Shop on Long Neck. He moved to the beach 27 years ago and enjoyed fishing and watching the water.
Jack is survived by his wife, Betty J. Meeley Donohue, with whom he would have celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary April 30; a son, John R. Donohue III; three daughters, Betty Jane Huizing and her husband, Pierre, Kelly Marvel and her husband, Patrick,, and Allison Mischler and her husband, David; a sister, Marie Peterson; and four grandchildren, Jessica, Allie, Rachel and Kylie.
Services were held at Melson Funeral Services, Long Neck Road, with burial in St. Peter’s Episcopal cemetery , Lewes.

Michael F. Dollar,
retired comptroller
Michael Francis Dollar, 79, of Millsboro, passed into heaven Sunday, April 10, 2005.
He was the son of the late Michael and Apolonia Dollar of Central City, Pa.
Mr. Dollar served in England during WWII. He graduated from Xavier University in 1950. He retired as comptroller for Hub Fabrication where he retired in 1990 after 13 years. He then moved with his wife, Eva, to Millsboro, DE. where he was an active member of the Millsboro Senior Center and the American Legion Post 28.
Michael will be sorely missed by his loving wife, Eva; and his daughters: Susan Brown, Michele Ogle, Cheryl Dollar and Virginia Dollar. He was also loved by his grandchildren: Melissa, Jennifer, Joshua, David, Kyle, John, Bob, and Greg and his five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Mary Jean Veca.

Robert C. Williston,
retired manager
Robert C. Williston, 78, of Columbia, Md., died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at Christiana Care Hospital, Wilmington.
Mr. Williston graduated from New Bedford Vocational High School in Bedford, Mass., in 1945.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy as an electrician’s mate third class in the Philippines at the ship repair base. He retired in 1986 after almost 30 years as a regional manager with Somerset Importers Ltd. of New York.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 28 of Oak Orchard/Riverdale.
He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel R. Williston; his father, Charles F. Williston; his mother, Joy Nelson Williston; and his stepmother, Isabelle.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy A. (Linehan) Williston; a daughter, Nancy J. Coyle and her husband Ronald; his daughter-in-law, Nancy M. Williston; his grandchildren, Eric, Carrie, Sarah Beth, Jennifer and her husband Scott, Christopher and his wife Diantha; his great-grandson, Liam; his brothers, Frederick and his wife Cathy, Charles and his wife Anna and Donald and his wife Carol; a sister, Rosemary Heckman and her husband Les; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 8, at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends may call at 10:30 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial cemetery
South, Millsboro.
