Sarah Walls French, 85, of Milton died Saturday, March 11, 2006, in Harbor Healthcare, Lewes.
Mrs. French was born in Milton, daughter of the late William J. and Sally (Messick) Walls.
She worked as a seamstress for Graves Dress Factory in Milton before retiring several years ago. She enjoyed keeping her home and yard immaculate.
Mrs. French was a member of Goshen United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George F. French; four brothers, Frank Walls, Joe Walls, Herman Walls and Robert Walls; and two sisters, Cora Smith and Pearl Austin.
She is survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Dorothy Reynolds of Milford and Edna and Alfred Best Sr. of Lewes; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton. Services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Milford Community cemetery.

Peter V. ‘Pete’ Giglio,
self-employed Realtor
Peter V. “Pete” Giglio, 60, of Milford, formerly of Dover, died Saturday, March 11, 2006, surrounded by his family in his home.
Mr. Giglio was born in New York, son of the late Peter P. and Teresa Manniello Giglio. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran.
He worked as a self-employed Realtor, investor and owned and operated Artistic Video Productions for several years.
Mr. Giglio was an active member in community affairs. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church of Milford, BPO Elks of Dover, Delmarva Sportsman Association, Inc., Sussex County Realtors Association, the NRA and American Legion Walter L. Fox Post. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also was a certified specialty diver (PADI) and certified advanced open water diver.
He is survived by his wife, Pam of Milford; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Lisa M. and Craig Stonesifer of Smyrna and Kelly R. and Chad McLaughlin of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a beloved sister, Patricia Greco of Farmingdale, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Cole McLaughlin and Chase McLaughlin, both of Fort Walton Beach; a niece, Teri Greco of Farmingdale; and a nephew, Salvatore Greco of Farmingdale.
Friends may call from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, in the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, in Holy Cross Church, South State Street, Dover. Burial will be in Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover.

A memorial service for Mr. John “Ross” Harris, who passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2006, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 17, at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 913 Wilson Rd., Wilmington.

Charles ‘Chuck’ Leidig,
retired engineer
Charles J. “Chuck” Leidig, 74, of Milton died Sunday, March 12, 2006, surrounded by his loving family in his home.
Mr. Leidig was born March 7, 1932, in Baltimore, son of the late George S. and Hilda Wagner Leidig.
He grew up in south Baltimore, where he attended St. Mary’s Star of the Sea School and Mount Saint Joseph High School.
Mr. Leidig proudly served his country in the Korean War with the 8th Army, 780th Field Battalion. He later attended atomic energy school in Japan and participated in nuclear weapons testing in Nevada, where he was witness to several atomic bomb tests.
Following his military service, he attended the Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore, where he received the George Peabody Award for Excellence. He also attended Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland.
Mr. Leidig retired as program engineer from Singer-Link Simulations. During his career, he was a program manager for the development and construction of simulation trainers for aircraft, subMarines, ships, nuclear power plants and a moon vehicle.
During his retirement, his passion was his family and most of his time was spent with his 15 grandchildren. He is best remembered by the smile on his face while untangling fishing lines for his grandchildren on the pond. He and his wife especially enjoyed the winter months spent with friends in their home in Placida, Fla.
Mr. Leidig was an active member of Milton Senior Citizens Club.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Irma Hodson Leidig; three sons, Charles “Joe” Leidig Jr., John Leidig and James Leidig; three daughters, Catherine Pommett, Christine Downey and Carol Esther; 15 grandchildren; and two brothers, George F. Leidig and Gilbert A. Leidig.
A Memorial Mass for family and friends will be 11:30 a.m., Thursday, March 16, in St. Michaels Catholic Church, 202 Edward St., Georgetown. A gathering for family and friends will follow in the family’s home, 113 Bangor Lane, Milton. Burial will be private.

E. Anne Evans, 79, of Lewes Beach, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.
Mrs. Evans was born Jan. 30, 1927, in Bryn Mawr, Pa., daughter of the late Howard S. and Eleanor Edsall Titlow.
Mrs. Evans was a homemaker who moved to Lewes 20 years ago.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles James McLean, in 1958, formerly of Bryn Mawr; and a brother Howard P. Titlow.
She is survived by her husband of more than 40 years, D. Rodney Evans Jr. of Lewes Beach; two daughters, Jamie McLean Russo and her husband, Mark, of Cockeysville, Md., and Suzanne McLean Stenberg and her husband, Holger, of Rosemont, Pa.; a step-daughter, Valerie Caniglia, and her husband, Joseph, of Norristown, Pa.; a stepson, Donald Rodney Evans III of Lewes; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 18, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Second and Market streets, Lewes, with the Rev. Jeffrey Ross officiating. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 100 West 10th St., Wilmington, DE 19801. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.

Doris L. Moyer, 76, of Milton and formerly of Trooper, Pa., died Wednesday, March 8, 2006.
Mrs. Moyer was a homemaker. She was born in Bridgeport, Pa., the daughter of the late Arthur and Emma Lightcap Fulmer.
She was the beloved wife of Ralph S. Moyer; loving mother of Karen E. Heidel and husband Raymond V. of Milton, and Ralph S. Moyer Jr. and wife Lois of King of Prussia, Pa.; dear grandmother to Crystal, Heather, Trey, Trevor, and Amanda; sister of Joyce Hendricks of Fort Myers, Fla., and Janice Henning of Norristown, Pa.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 14,, at the Kirk & Nice Funeral Home, 80 Stenton Ave., Plymouth Meeting. Services will be at 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park.

Thelma ‘Fem’ Collick,

Thelma “Fem” Collick, 77, of Lewes died Sunday, March 5, 2006, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.
Mrs. Collick was born May 14, 1928, daughter of the late Henry and Thedora Coursey.
She retired from Beebe Medical Center as a LPN in 1990, after more than 25 years of service, and was also an attendant for Miller Funeral Services.
Mrs. Collick was a member of St. George A.M.E. Church and served on the IB Usher Board. She was past president of the Stewardess Board, Ways and Means and also served as Sunday school superintendent. She had been a Girl Scout leader and delivered Meals on Wheels before her illness.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Collick; and a daughter, Ellen Pamela Frances Coursey.
She is survived by a son, Theodore Collick of Lewes; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Henry Coursey and William and Ernestine Coursey, all of Lewes; an aunt, Anna H. Ward of Lewes; two sisters-in-law, Emily Collick and Elizabeth Ball, both of Lewes; a brother-in-law, Timothy Ball of Philadelphia; three nieces whom she loved, Wilma Coursey and Tyshia Coursey, both of Lewes, and Tammy Westcott of Georgetown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be noon, Saturday, March 11, in the Friendship Baptist Church, West 4th St., Lewes, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in People’s Memorial Park, Midway.

Barbara Jean Eastburn, 53, of Georgetown, died Friday, March 3, 2006, after a short illness.
Mrs. Eastburn enjoyed tending bar, long rides, reading, dancing and doing arts and crafts.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Richard Eastburn; her daughter Heather Eastburn; her son Jason Eastburn; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held from noon to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 11, at the Redmen’s Fraternal Home, 17451 Nassau Commons, Lewes, with burial private.

Carole W. Calhoun,

Carole W. Calhoun, 65, of Dagsboro, died Saturday, March 4, 2006, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md.
She was born in Leimister, Mass., to the late William J. and Hilda Montonen Whitten.
Mrs. Calhoun was the industrial nurse at Townsends Inc. in Millsboro until her retirement 15 years ago. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Millville. She loved to read and was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Calhoun in 2002.
She is survived by her sons, Dean Hitch and his companion, Dan Matthew and Blake Hitch and wife Marsha, all of Dagsboro; two sisters, Elizabeth Parcels of Wilmington and Winfred Boucher of Merrit Island, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Kristy Millspaw and Ian Hitch, both of Dagsboro.
Graveside services will be held at St. George’s Church cemetery , Clarksville.

Lloyd G. Daisey, 78, of Millsboro, died peacefully Saturday evening, March 4, 2006, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was the retired owner of the wholesale distributors A.E. Moore Inc. of Millsboro.
Mr. Daisey was born in Ocean View on Sept. 6, 1927 to the late Herbert and Eva Holloway Daisey.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was the past master of Doric Lodge 30 of Millville, a member of the Nur Temple and the Lower Delaware Shrine.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Phyllis; two sons, Dennis Daisey of Georgia and Dean Daisey and his wife Barbara of Millsboro; three grandchildren, Nicholas Daisey of Georgia and Kelley and Kelsey Daisey of Millsboro; a brother, Ray Daisey of Millville; a sister, Betty Murray of Ocean View.
A Masonic service was held, followed by funeral services at Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Ocean View, with burial private.

Marguerite D. Willin,

Marguerite Dennis Willin, 80, died Saturday, March 4, 2006, in Milford.
Born in Showell, she was the daughter of the late James H. Dennis and Mary C. Denston Dennis.
Marguerite started her career at the Farmers Bank in Rehoboth, retiring as a bank manager from Mellon Bank in Seaford. She will be remembered for her kindness and respect for others.
She is survived by her son, Stan Williams of Bridgeville; a grandson; a great-granddaughter; and two cousins, Hilda Showell and Dorothy Wimbrow.
Services were held at Burbage Funeral Home.
