Gardner S. Trask, Jr., 64, formerly of Danvers and Dunstable, MA, husband of Faye (Graffam) Trask died August 4, 2004 at home after a long illness.
Born in Beverly, MA, October 5, 1939, he was the son of the Gardner (Sr.) and Mildred Trask. He was raised in Danvers and was a 1958 graduate of Holten High School and later obtained a business degree from Bentley Accounting School. He served in the National Guard and as a Danvers Town Meeting Member. He was also active in the Danvers Jaycees.
Mr. Trask worked as a computer and purchasing professional, including 25 years for Pellon Corporation from which he was retired. He lived with his wife in Florida for the past 6 years, serving on several civic boards, most notably as the former President of the Society of St. Vincent DePaul of Cape Coral and as President of the national SVDP council.
Besides his wife of 42 years, he is survived by his son Gardner S. Trask, III and wife Patricia Trask and grandchildren Gardner IV, Lisa and Julia Trask of Danvers, his daughter Heidi Basik and husband Brian Basik and grandchildren Jessica, Alexis and Christopher of Nicholasville, KY, his son Christopher (deceased) his Garth Trask and wife Mary Trask of Chicago, IL, and his son Dane Schlick-Trask and wife Kara Schlick-Trask of Brandenton, FL. He is survived by his brother Richard Trask and wife Ethel Trask of Danvers, and uncle to Elizabeth (Trask) Peterson and husband Brad Peterson of Hampton Falls, NH.
A memorial service will be held in October in Florida. Correspondence may be sent to Faye Trask at 606 S.W. 39th Ave., Cape Coral, FL 33991. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Memorial Contribution for Gardner Trask, 2033 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, FL 33990 (239) 573-0217.

Betty F. Carmody, 77, of Cape Coral died Saturday in Ft. Myers. She was born in New York moved here 20 years ago from Westfield, NJ. She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women. Betty was a member of the Exxon/Mobil Retirees Club of SW Florida. She was a member of Habitat for Humanity and the Red Hat Society. An avid bowler she was a member of the NARFE & Friends Bowling League and also enjoyed golfing. Betty was a crafter and belonged to the Craft Club of Cape Coral.
Survivors include her husband, C. Thomas Carmody of Cape Coral; daughters, Barbara Bauman, Beverly Bauman, Sharon Forman, Irene Schembs, Patricia Jamieson and Coral Ann Carner; a son, Thomas C. Carmody, 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM in the chapel of Coral Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, Sept. 17, 2004 at 10:00 AM in St. Andrew Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Coral Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Hear Assn., PO Box 21475, St. Petersburg, FL 33472.

Carol G. Hackbarth, 67, of Cape Coral passed away August 6, 2004. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

Charlotte Rouse Luedtke, 50, passed away on August 9, 2004 after complications during heart surgery. She was born on October 19, 1953 in Wilson, NC.
Charlotte graduated from Kinston High School and the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. She was employed with AW North Carolina; active in her church - Christian Family Fellowship, and in years past was involved in the Raleigh Little Theaters and the Barn Dinner Theater.
Charlotte is survived by her husband of 15 years, Frank Luedtke, of Creedmoor; by her mother: Daphne Rouse Keegan, of Bristol, VA and Ft. Myers, FL; by her brothers: Walt Rouse and wife Patricia and children Ashley and David Rouse, all of Lexington, NC and Brad Rouse and wife Karen Campbell and children Jonathan and Stephen Rouse, of Atlanta, GA; by her in-laws: Bob and Darlene Luedtke, of Cary; by her 3 sisters-in-law and their seven children; and lastly by her sweet dog: Duchess.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 12th at 2 PM in the chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home (7209 Glenwood Avenue). Family will receive friends following the service.

Mary F. Pizzolato, 71, of Ft. Myers passed away August 7, 2004. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

Patricia M. Rozanski, 60, of Cape Coral passed away August 6, 2004. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Horizon Funeral Home & Cremation Center.

Helen Rymer, age 79, of Ft. Myers died on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at Hope Hospice North. Born on June 3, 1925 in Richmond, KY to Rufus and Jennie Fletcher. A resident of Ft. Myers since June 1973, she previously lived in Elizabethtown, KY. A homemaker who loved her family, she was educated in the public schools in Kentucky.
Helen was the wife of the late John F. Rymer who died in September 1996 after 48 years of marriage. She is survived by her daughters, Katherine (Thomas) Chuderski of Ft. Myers, Jennie (David) Sweeley of North Ft. Myers, her son, John F. (June) Rymer Jr. of Lehigh Acres, her grandchildren, Christina, Michael, Michelle, Adam and her sister, Marie Watts of Elizabethtown, KY.
Funeral service was held privately for the family at the Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and entombment followed in the Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial gifts be sent to Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Ft. Myers, FL 33908.

Edwin A. Smith, 85, of Ft. Myers, FL passed away Sunday August 8, 2004. As a WWII Veteran, he was a 1st LT of the 10th Mountain Division US Army and a Bronze Star recipient.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Lahr Smith, daughters; Carolyn Daniels and Catherine White, step-daughters; Suzanne Alexander and Carolyn Deasy, 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Ft. Myers, FL 33908.

Raymond C. Spooner Jr., age 69, of Fort Myers, died August 7, 2004. Mr. Spooner was born March 18, 1935 in Detroit, MI., a son of the late Raymond and Florance (Zimmerman) Spooner. Mr. Spooner was a former insurance salesman and a member of the United Congregational Church of Ft. Myers.
Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, LeeAnn Spooner of Fort Myers, sons, Raymond C. Spooner III, of Marquette, MI, Patrick K. Spooner of Fort Myers, FL; daughters, Lauren (Michael) Maniak of South Gate, MI, Nancy Hune of Green bay, WI; brother, William Spooner Sr., of Fort Pierce, FL; grandchildren, Megan, Cassandra, and Alexandria.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 12, 2004 from 4:00 to 5:00 P.M. at Walter Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Tr. S. followed by a service at 5:00 P.M.

Clarence Busbee, 66, of N. Ft. Myers died August 10, 2004. Clarence is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jane, 3 children: Rebecca (Clinton) Busbee, Amanda (William) Snyder, Clarence (Sheri) Busbee, Jr., 1 sister: Carolyn (Roger) Crotteau, 2 brothers: Clinton Busbee, Douglas (Karen) Busbee, and 8 grandchildren: Kirri, Kyndall, Kaylee, Baylee, Billy, Brooke, Madisyn, Katelynn.
Graveside services will be held Friday, August 13, 2004 at 1:00 PM at Lee Memorial Park Cemetery. The family would prefer memorial contributions to the Gulf Coast Church of Christ Mission Fund, 3825 McGregor Blvd., Ft. Myers, FL 33901.

Rogelio Diaz, age 21, resident of Bokeelia, Pine Island, and native from Chiapas, Mexico, died unexpectedly on August 6, 2004 at Citrus Trailer Park, in Bokeelia. He was born in Chiapas, Mexico on Dec. 8, 1982.
Rogelio came to the United States four years ago as an immigrant looking for a better life. He was a hard worker and an exemplary citizen. He was a wonderful friend and people remember him as loving and caring.
He is survived by his parents, Javier Santos Diaz and Paulina Coronado of Ixcan Playa Grande, Zunil, Quiche', Guatemala, his brother Carlos and sister Paulina, his first cousins Esvin, Augusto and Henry Diaz, of Bokeelia.
A Catholic Wake Service will be celebrated at James C. Boyd Funeral Home, 2966 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., on Thursday, August 12, at 8 PM. He will be buried in Guatemala, on August 15.
