Funeral services for William Guyton Webber Sr., beloved husband, father and grandfather who went to be with his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ on June 8, 2000, will be held today at 3 p.m. in the Woodlawn United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ronald T. Ball officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers are John Bradley, John Montgomery, the Rev. Ken Autrey, Robert Taylor, Gary Greathouse and Steve Humphries. Memorials may be made to the Woodlawn United Methodist Church Building Fund at 213 Carolyn Avenue, Panama City Beach, 32407 or the charity of your choice.

GEORGE ALLEN 'BO' BURTON JR.
Mr. George Allen "Bo" Burton Jr., 48, of North Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Panama City, died Sunday, June 4, 2000, as a result of a helicopter crash. Mr. Burton was a firefighter pilot with the Division of Forestry. He had lived in Fort Myers for a year after moving there from Tallahassee. He was a 1970 graduate of Rutherford High School and was retired from the U.S. Army. Mr. Burton is survived by his sons, Jorn Allen Burton of North Fort Myers, and Justin Dane Burton of Wolfersheim, Germany; his halfbrother, Larry Stuckey; two halfsisters, Kay Clark and Karen Mayes; his sister, Brenda Jo Mathis; niece, Mary Nell Mathis of Panama City; and nephew, Wilson B. Mathis of Panama City. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today, June 12, 2000, at the Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with military honors.

DWIGHT ALLEN COOPER III
Mr. Dwight Allen Cooper III, 29, of 2317 W. 27th St. in Panama City died Saturday, June 10, 2000, at his home. Mr. Cooper had a love for cars and enjoyed playing golf. He was the manager and owner of the Desert Palms Motel on Panama City Beach. Mr. Cooper is survived by his wife Jennifer Cooper of Panama City; daughter, Madelyn Cooper of Panama City; brother, James Cooper of Panama City; and grandmother Eleanor Cooper of Panama City. His father, Dwight A. Cooper Jr. and mother, Patricia Cooper, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Parker Officiating. Family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Tuesday, June 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. Asked to serve as pallbearers include Chuck Day, Charles Cox, Chris Matincheck, Mike Hill, Robert Wright and Sandy Atchinson.

Funeral services for Joe Lewis Horne will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe O'Daniel officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Masonic rites to be conducted by Bay Lodge No. 337 at the graveside. Active pallbearers will be Maxwell Miller, David Wettstein, Geoff Cummings, Dewitt Morrison, Dan Horne, Delano Terry, Jerry Brady and David Walsingham. Honorary pallbearers will be all Masons and Shriners. The family is receiving friends at the family's home at 607 N. Star Ave. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. CHARLES P. PELHAM JR.
Charles P. Pelham Jr., born June 19, 1913, died on May 30, 2000, at Bay Medical Center after a brief illness. Mr. Pelham was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Ava Marie Halstead Pelham. Mr. and Mrs. Pelham retired ten years ago from operating Pelham's Book Store and Florida Library Service at 33 Harrison Ave. in Panama City for the past 35 years. Mr. and Mrs. Pelham moved to Panama City from Mobile, Ala., in 1955 to operate the book store owned by his father, Charles P. Pelham Sr. Mr. Pelham is survived by three nephews. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew Episcopal Church on Wednesday, June 14, at 10 a.m.

JOHNNY GAY PILCHER
Mr. Johnny Gay Pilcher, age 57, of 2175 Frankford Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Sunday, June 11, 2000, at his home. He had been a resident of the area for 29 years, coming here from Enterprise, Ala., and was Baptist by faith. Mr. Pilcher is survived by his wife, Jeanette Pilcher of Panama City; two daughters, Ronda and Donna Hall, both of Turnersville, Ga.; mother, Dollie G. Turner of Panama City; sisters: Frankie Hill and her husband Bobby of Mobile, Ala., Sally Hall and her husband Jon, Sue Wills and her husband Gene, and Angie Joe Pettis and her husband Wayne, all of Panama City; brothers, Billy Pilcher and his wife Hazel of Enterprise, Ala.; mother-in-law, Nina Adams of Panama City; sisters-in-law, Betty McBride and her husband Tony of Panama City and Shirley O'Conner and her husband Sam of Tampa; brothers-in-law, Ray Adams and his wife Mary Sue and Johnny Adams and his wife Ann, all of Panama City; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, John Edison Pilcher. Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, June 14, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.W. Hunt and the Rev. Warren Wright officiating. Interment will follow at 4 p.m., June 14, at Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Enterprise, Ala., with the Rev. Calvin Cawthorn officiating. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Wayne Pettis, David Pettis, Eric Wills, Ricky Adkins, Brent Adams and Ray Adams II. VIRGINIA RUTH RHOADES
Mrs. Virginia Ruth Rhoades, age 80, of 5705 Lilly St., Panama City, Fla., died Monday, June 12, 2000, at a local hospital. She had been a resident of the area since August, 1975, moving here from Kentucky. Mrs. Rhoades was a member of the Palo Alto Church of Christ and was very active in church activities. She also enjoyed quilting and cooking. Mrs. Rhoades is survived by her daughters, Sarah Jane Mannon and her husband Archie of Panama City and Mary Owens of Hendersonville, Tenn.; grandson, Gary Wayne Bray of Hendersonville, Tenn.; a granddaughter, Anita Louise Jansen of Luverne; great-grandchildren, Charly Ann Bray of Salt Rapids, Minn., Leslie Mae Kirby of Hendersonville, Sarah Ann Jansen and Kendall Paul Jansen, both of Luverne, Tenn.; two sisters, Esther Cohoon of Murray, Ky., and Katie Joseph of Detroit, Mich.; and two brothers, Cleatus Smith of Murray, Ky., and Ross Smith of Gorham, Kan. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 14, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Grizzell officiating. Funeral services and interment will be held at a later date in Murray, Ky. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, June 13 from 6 to 8 p.m.

MICHAEL LAYNE SMITH
Mr. Michael Layne Smith, 42, of 210 S. Charlene Drive, Callaway, died Saturday, June 10, 2000. He was a resident of Panama City since 1964. The son of C.A. and Patti Smith, he was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church. He was a mechanic and owned his own business before becoming disabled. Michael is survived by his parents; two sisters, Chyrl L. Boyer, and husband Mark of Lynn Haven, Stephanie A. Gagnon and husband Mike of Panama City; two brothers, Stephen J. Smith of Parker and Patrick J Smith of Panama City; two nieces, Brandi Boyer and Danielle Gagnon; four nephews, Justin A. Hall, Christian J. Hall, Scott Kyle Boyer and Brady A. Smith, all of Panama City. The family will receive friends at St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church after the rosary Wednesday, June 14, at 7 p.m. Memorial services will be held at St. Dominics church on Thursday, June 15, at 10 a.m. Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

H.L. "HUGH" WILLIAMS
Col. H.L. "Hugh" Williams, USAF, retired, age 77, of 304 Iowa Ave., Lynn Haven, died Sunday, June 11, in a local hospital. Born in Enid, Okla., he moved here 34 years ago from Oklahoma. Upon his retirement from the Air Force, he taught at Mowat and Mosley for 17 years. He was a veteran of World War II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. A son, Michael Fred Williams, precedes Mr. Williams in death. He is survived by his wife, Ruthie Williams of Lynn Haven; one son, Roger Williams of Georgetown, Ind.; two daughters, Mary Lee Parker of West Lafayette, Ind. and Janet Wilder of Louisville, Ky.; one sister, Irlene Sykora of Stillwater, Okla.; three grandchildren: Dana McNeeley, Ryan Parker and Robin Parker; two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Logan McNeeley; sisters-in-law, Virginia Cotton and Quida Davis and husband Joe Davis; brother-in-law, Charles Howell and wife Vi Howell. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 14 at 6 p.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Si Mathison officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to American Cancer Society or the Bay County Humane Society in honor of Col. Williams.

ROBERT W. (RABBIT) RATLIFF II
Robert W. (Rabbit) Ratliff II, 28, of Marianna, died Saturday, June 10, 2000, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Ala., from injuries sustained in an automobile wreck. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. He was employed by Red Simpson Company Inc. as a journeyman. He was a graduating member of Marianna High School Class of 1989 and a member of the Marianna Moose Lodge No. 1026. He was active in the Marianna Recreation Program for youth in the Coach Pitch League. He was a member of the Lovedale Baptist Church. His mother, Delores Holt Ratliff, preceded him in death in 1986. Ratliff is survived by his wife, Shari Davis Ratliff of Marianna; two children, Adam and Joshua; one stepchild, Andrew; his father, Robert Wyndall Ratliff of Marianna; two sisters, Wyndie Ratliff of Marianna and Beckie Raucci of Anderson, S.C.; five aunts, Brenda Jackson, Diane Glaze, Sharon Jarrard, Debbie Johnson and Elizabeth Hall; three uncles, Vernon Holt, Nicky Holt and W.C. Holt; one niece, Kaitlyn Kolmetz; and numerous cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2000, at 2 p.m. CDT at Maddox Chapel with the Rev. Brent Vickery officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Cemetery in Marianna with James and James Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
