VIRGINIA FAYE MILLER
Mrs. Virginia Faye Miller, age 60, of Southport, Fla., died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, in a local hospital. Born in Corinth, Miss., she moved to this area in 1978 from Marietta, Ga., and was a housekeeper by trade and of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband, C.E. Miller of Southport; one son, Michael D. Miller and wife Sarah of Southport; two daughters, Shelia Pratt and husband Michael of Niceville, Fla., and Debra Walker and husband Bernie of Southport; two brothers, Kenneth Rader and wife Mindy of Waverly, Ill., and Roger Rader of Jackson, Miss.; one sister, Billie Stroud of Irvin, Texas; and seven grandchildren. Memorial services for Mrs. Miller will be conducted on Saturday, Aug. 10, at 6 p.m. in Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel.

THELMA L. REID
Mrs. Thelma L. Reid of 511 E. 9th St. passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, at her residence after a brief illness. She was born in Alabama and moved to Panama City in the early 1950's where she remained until relocating to Atlanta, Ga., in 1969. Mrs. Reid returned to Panama City in December 1998 and later became a member of Antioch Temple Church of God in Christ. Thelma was a very generous person, always ready to give a Christian hand to anyone in need, both in the church and in the community. She was a person of great courage and commitment. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, gardening, and was noted for her fashionable dress. Thelma will be remembered for her radiant smile, grace, quiet dignity, and love for her family. She is survived by two daughters, Delois Daniels of Panama City and Mary Alice Jennings and husband of Atlanta, Ga.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Superintendent Joe Murry and wife Josephine and Willie C. (Sug) Murry, all of Slocomb, Ala.; six sisters: Pinnie Hunter of Panama City, Rose Murry and Mary Jane Wheeler, both of Atlanta, Ida March and husband Robert and Frances Burton and husband Jessie, all of Dothan, and Sarah Northern and husband David of Tampa; one uncle, many aunts, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 12, at Noon at Holy Temple Church of God in Christ, 802 E. 8th Court, Elder W.C. Green, Pastor; Superintendent John Gipson officiating. Interment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Public visitation will begin today, Aug. 11, at 1 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral services at the church.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Norma Vilura Straus White, age 78, of 340 N. MacArthur Ave., Panama City, Fla., who died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, will be held at 3 p.m. today, Aug. 11, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Si Mathison and the Rev. Al Rowell officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Aug. 11, one hour prior to service time.

FORACE RILEY
Mr. Forace Riley, 73, of Round Lake, died at his residence Wednesday morning, Aug. 9, 2000. Mr. Riley was a native of this area. He was retired from the United States Air Force as a Technical Sergeant. He moved back to this area in 1970 from Idaho after retirement. He was an avid fisherman. He was the proprietor of Riley's Small Engine Shop in Round Lake. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Jewell Riley of Round Lake; three daughters: Kathryn R. Stephens and husband Joseph of Tallahassee, Michelle R. Hale and husband Jeffery of West Virginia, Deborah Radcliff of Orlando; one son, Thomas Edward Harris and wife Irene of Panama City; three sisters: Rosetta Nixon of Chipley, Gladys Jackson of Alford, Esther Sapp of Sapp Church Community; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Services for Mr. Riley will be held at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home Saturday, Aug. 12, at 10:30 a.m. with Chaplain Bill Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in White Pond Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening, Aug. 11, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Florida, 2917-B Optimist Dr., Marianna, Fla. 32448 or the American Cancer Society.

FRANK A. SCHAEFER
Frank A. Schaefer, 84, of Palm Harbor, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Stratford Court, Palm Harbour. Born in Jersey City, N.J., he moved to this area in April 2000 from Panama City. Prior to retirement, he was an Engineer for General Motors, constructing factories overseas. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club, the Power Squadron, and the Kiwanis Club, all in Panama City. He was a veteran of the Army who served during World War II. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Liv Nora Schaefer of Palm Harbor; son, John E. Schaefer of East Lake, Fla.; two daughters, Karen Schaefer of Rochester, N.Y., Linda Schaefer of Atlanta; five grandchildren: Kelly, Carl, Erika, Shannon and Paul; nephew, Edward Schaefer M.D. of Baltimore, Md. Contributions to First Presbyterian Church in Panama City, if desired.

JAMES LEO BUCHANAN
Mr. James Leo Buchanan, age 73, of 5220 Shores Road, Panama City, Fla., died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at his home. He had been a resident of the area since 1966, coming here from Mobile, Ala. Mr. Buchanan was a member of the Good Shepherd Church of God. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a deep-sea diver. Mr. Buchanan enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and loved the outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Buchanan of Panama City, Fla.; sons, Donnie Buchanan and Ronnie Buchanan, both of Panama City, Fla.; a grandson, Tim Buchanan (Crystal) of Panama City, Fla.; great-grandson, Matthew Buchanan of Panama City, Fla.; a great-granddaughter, Ashleigh Buchanan of Panama City, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Buchanan of Ocean Springs, Miss.; nephews, Gene Buchanan and Gil Buchanan, both of Ocean Springs, Miss. Mr. Buchanan was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Buchanan, and a grandson, Brian Buchanan. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Pledger officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Aug. 12, 2000, from 5 to 7 p.m.

RUBY TAYLOR DAVIS
Ruby Taylor Davis, 82, a loving mother, faithful friend, and compassionate counselor, formerly of Panama City, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, in McAllen, Texas, after a long battle with many illnesses. She had been a resident of Panama City since 1953, moving here from El Paso, Texas, before moving to McAllen 21/2 years ago. She was a member of the St. Andrew United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Waverly Davis Jr. She is survived by a son, the Rev. William Waverly "Bill" Davis III and his wife Glenda of Heideberg, Germany; daughter, Martha Davis Garlick and her husband the Rev. Roland Garlick of Mission, Texas; three grandsons: the Rev. Daniel Garlick, John Garlick, William Andrew Davis; eight granddaughters: Joy Murillo, Joanna Reed, Susanna Garlick, Heather Davis, Dawn Davis, Crystal Davis, Heidi Davis and Anna Davis; eight great-grandchildren: Benjamin Garlick, Jonathan Garlick, Nathiel Garlick, Joshua Murillo, Caleb Murillo, Hannah Murillo, Krysten Garlick and Samantha Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held today at 10 a.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with services officiated by the Rev. C. Edward Britton, the Rev. William (Bill) Davis III, the Rev. Roland Garlick, the Rev. Dan Garlick, and the Rev. Robert Murillo. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Active pallbearers are the Rev. Daniel Garlick, John Garlick, William Garlick, the Rev. Robert Murillo, Mark Hess, Michael Bevis and David Jordan.

TERI LYNN GOSLIN
Dr. Teri Lynn Goslin, age 48, died at her residence on Aug. 6, 2000. She attended the University of Iowa and the University of Illinois Colleges of Medicine and did her radiology residency at Cook County Hospital in Illinois. She was a radiologist with Cobre Valley Community Hospital. Dr. Goslin was on staff at Cobre Valley Community Hospital from 1989 to 1996 and chief of staff from 1993 to 1996. She was preceded in death by her brother, Scott Goslin. Survivors include her parents, Dr. Fred B. and Marilyn Goslin of Panama City; a longtime companion, Marsha McCaleb of Globe, Ariz.; brother, Col. Mark L. Goslin (Robin Sutcliffe) of Hampton, Va.; a sister, Doreen Goslin of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.; one niece and three nephews. A memorial service was held Aug. 10 at the Goslin residence with interment following in Cedar Memorial Gardens, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. GLORIA HALL
Mrs. Gloria Hall went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000. Born in Denver, Colo., she moved to Florida in 1963. Mrs. Hall was a teacher at First Presbyterian Christian School and a member of Sand Hills Community Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Winifred Hilton, and one son, John Hall. Mrs. Hall is survived by her husband, James Hall of Panama City; three sons: Jeremy Hall, Matthew Hall and Jimmy Hall and wife Carol, all of Panana City; three daughters: Polly Segal and husband Stephen of Manassas, Va., Grace Hall of Panama City and Cleland Lavern Hall of Chipley; one daughter-in-law, Tammy Hall of Panama City; two brothers, David Hilton and wife Treba of Atlanta and Lee Hilton of St. Petersburg; three sisters: Linda Chesko, Janet Nash and husband Johnnie, and Loretta Teston and husband Gordon, all of St. Petersburg; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Hall will be conducted today, Aug. 12, at 3 p.m. in Sand Hills Community Church with the Rev. Don Moon Sr. and the Rev. Don Moon Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Sand Hills Community Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Sand Hills Community Church Youth Fund at 306 Spikes Road, Southport, Fla. 32409 in memory of Mrs. Hall.

DAVID ALLEN KAUFMAN
David Allen Kaufman, age 42, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, at Healthmark Regional Hospital in DeFuniak Springs, Fla. David was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on Oct. 29, 1957, to Ronald F. Kaufman and Nancy Schrieber Kaufman and had been a resident of Northwest Florida area since 1968. David was in the restaurant business. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Crestview. He was a loving husband and family member and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife, Deirdre A. Kaufman of Lynn Haven; parents, Joseph and Hancy Schumann of Fort Walton Beach; brother, Michael Kaufman of Fort Walton Beach; sisters, Elizabeth Schumann of Fort Walton Beach and Joann Schumann of Greensboro, N.C.; mother-in-law, Bridget Connolly of Crestivew; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Patrick and Trace Connolly of Crestview and Kieran and Melissa Connolly of North Cohocton, N.Y.; brother-in-law, Thomas Connolly Jr. of Crestview; nephews: Brock, Sean, Micky and Benjamin; nieces, Leslie and Katy; special friends, Chip and Darla O'Brian of Destin. Visitation was held at Whitehurst Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 9, with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Father John Kelly. A Mass of the Resurrection was conducted from our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Crestview on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Father John Kelly as the Celebrant. Interment will follow the service in Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery in Crestview. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Kidney Center at 510 N. MacArthur Ave., Panama City, Fla. 32401.
