Julia Minerva Smith Woodyard, 65, of Panama City died Sunday in a local hospital. She was a retired emergency room registrar at Bay Medical Center. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1947, growing up in the College Point area. She is survived by three sons, James E. Weeks of Macon, Ga., Robert Wayne Weeks of Fountain, Benjamin David Weeks of Panama City Beach; three daughters, Julia Elaine Miller, Mary Jane Hudson both of Youngstown, Jody Marie Lore of Fountain; brother, Jack Smith of Killeen, Texas; sister, Linda Williams of Clearwater, Fla., eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Lynn Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.

LELA ELIZABETH BEEMAN
Mrs. Lela Elizabeth "Bettye" Beeman, of Panama City Beach, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in Hattiesburg, Miss. Born in Wiggins, Miss., she moved to Panama City in 1960. Mrs. Beeman was a registered nurse at Tyndall Elementary School and a surgical nurse at Bay Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Robert A. Beeman. Mrs. Beeman is survived by her devoted companion, Max Joiner; two sons, Daniel Beeman and Craig Beeman; one daughter, Barbara Beeman McMinis and husband, Larry; three sisters, Billie Carmichael, Nell Baker and Brenda Westfall; eight grandchildren, Craig Beeman, Amy Beeman, Jeremy McMinis, Mollye McMinis, Chris Beeman, Tracy Beeman, Mallory Beeman and Lydia Beeman; one niece and a host of nephews. Graveside services for Mrs. Beeman will be conducted Thursday, Aug. 17, at 10 a.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

CHRISTO CHRISTODOULOU
Mr. Christo Christodoulou, age 62, of Panama City, Fla., died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla. He was a retired Major in the U.S. Air Force, retired from the Florida D.O.T., and a member of St. John's Catholic Church. Mr. Chistodoulou is survived by his wife, Louise Christodoulou of Panama City; sons, Michael Christodoulou and his wife Lisa of Georgia, Eric Christodoulou and his wife Cathy of Florida, Jimmy Christodoulou and his wife Patricia and Peter Christodoulou, all of Missouri; sisters, Philia Philibert and Anna Monti; brothers, Alex Christodoulou, Vasilios Christodoulou, Constantino Christodoulou and Jon Christodoulou; two grandchildren, Alex Christodoulou and Willow Monroe; and a special family friend, Uncle George. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 17 at St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. Marty Bratek officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, Aug. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Bay County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, 2012 A Lisenby Ave., Panama City, Fla. 32405.

BERNICE EVELYN HOLT
Mrs. Bernice Evelyn Holt, age 75, of Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2000, at a local nursing facility. She had been a resident of the area for eight years, coming here from Summersville, Mo. Mrs. Holt enjoyed reading, fishing and bingo. She volunteered for the Tyndall Library for a year. Mrs. Holt was Catholic by faith and a very special lady. She is survived by daughters, Donna Hufschmidt and her husband Joe of Bayou George and Pam Davis of Kansas City, Mo.; a special man friend, Roger Whelton of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Angie Martin, Shawn Davis, Vicki Davis, Adam Davis, Joey Hufschmidt, Ellen McCloud and Jessica McCloud; two great-grandchildren, Amy Lynn Martin and Lindsay Ann Martin; and a special friend, Sheila Ray. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Holt; a daughter, Linda Ann Martin; a son, Charles Michael McCloud; a brother, Richard Frossard; and a sister, Dee Dee Keoneker.

NANCY ELIZABETH McCOMB
Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth McComb, age 63, of 105 Bonanza Circle, Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2000, at her home. She had been a lifetime resident of the area and served her country in the U.S. Navy. Mrs. McComb was a member of Callaway United Methodist Church, which she loved, Hope Sunday School Class, Thursday Morning Ladies League of Tyndall, Monday Night League at Tyndall and a member and treasurer of U.M.W. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and a collector of birds, especially hummingbirds. Mrs. McComb is survived by her husband, Robert McComb Jr. of Panama City; a son, Robert McComb III of Panama City; sisters, Inez Jean Wood and her husband Edwin of Smyrna, Ga., Mary Eunice Turberville and her husband Lloyd of Friendship, Texas, and Alice Coral Oliver-Tate and her husband Larry of Panama City; a sister-in-law, Daphne Oliver Barron of Panama City; a niece, Tammy Lynn Knight; and nephews, Crawford Lowell Wood, Gregory Edwin Wood, Tracy Alan Wood and Chadwick Lowell Oliver. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 17, at Callaway United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jack Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at Callaway Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Crawford Lowell Wood, Gregory Edwin Wood, Tracy Alan Wood, Chadwick Lowell Oliver, Craig Massimiani, and Richard Clay. Honorary pallbearers will include Chuck Griffith, Norm Keesler, Robert Inman, June Trawick and Jake Walters. Mrs. Marianne Bishop Smith, 55, of 315 Sanders Lane, Springfield, Fla., died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Panama City and was a homemaker. She was also Baptist by faith. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Earl Gross of Springfield; special friends, Kathleen Coley and Pat Testut and numerous cousins. Graveside funeral services will be conducted today, Aug. 16, at 10 a.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Mr. Steve Southerland II officiating.

Funeral services for Mrs. Constance Webb, age 75, of Southport, Fla., who went to be with the Lord Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, will be held at 10 a.m., today, Aug. 16, at Church of Christ in Lynn Haven with Mr. Louis Consoli III, Mr. Gerald McCalister and Mr. Phillip Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Lynn Haven Cemetery. A special thank you is extended to the caregivers for Mrs. Webb from Community Health Center. EUGENE HENRY 'PA' WOOD, SR.
Mr. Eugene Henry "Pa" Wood Sr., age 74, of Panama City, Fla., died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, at his daughter's home. He had been a resident of the area since 1956, coming here from Birmingham, Ala. Mr. Wood was the founder and former owner of Panama Paint and Body Shop on Jenks Avenue for 43 years and served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Westside Men's Club and Springfield Community Church. Mr. Wood, loving husband, father, and grandfather is survived by his daughter, Janet M. Miller and her husband W.E. of Panama City; a son, Eugene H. Wood Jr. of Panama City; grandchildren, Kevin Boyd and his wife Maura and Joni Boyd, all of Panama City, Stephanie Lauer and her husband Steve of Biloxi, Miss., and Dustin Wood of Alabaster, Ala.; a brother, Hoyt Alvis of Decatur, Ala.; a sister, Velma Perry of Decatur; and a sister-in-law, Ollie Jones of Trinity, Ala. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Helen Marie Wood. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Aug. 16, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J. W. Hunt, the Rev. John Hall, and the Rev. Burney Enzor officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Sonny Savage, Mart Yates, Guy Tunnell, Derrell Hernandez, Buzz Ahner and Freddie Pruett. DOROTHY H. BOZEMAN
Mrs. Dorothy H. Bozeman, 73, of Panama City, Fla., died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at a local hospital. She was a member of East Bay Baptist Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, and the Sandy Creek Golf Club. In 1948, four years after graduating from Bangor High School, Mrs. Bozeman received an invitation to play in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, the league made popular by the 1992 movie, A League of Their Own. She decided she needed experience before joining the all-women league and made an appeal to the Bangor newspaper. Two days after the column ran in the newspaper, Mrs. Bozeman made her debut with the Brewer Boys' Club as a right fielder. She is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Huey Bozeman and Mr. and Mrs. Pete Bozeman, all of Panama City; sister-in-law, Deane Bozeman of Panama City; brother-in-law, Leon H. Vickers of Panama City; brother and sister-in-law, Mrs. and Mrs. Donald McFarlin of Panama City; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bozeman is preceded in death by her husband, Leon J. "Bud" Bozeman; her mother, Helen McFarlin; her father, Evan B. Jenkins; and a sister, Mary Vickers. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 18, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom McCardle officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Aug. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m.
