ETHELINE MEREDITH
Mrs. Etheline Meredith, 90, of Wewahitchka, passed away Saturday night, Aug. 19, 2000, in Blountstown. A native of Alabama, she had been a resident of Wewahitchka for the past 45 years and was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Meredith; and two sons, Robert Meredith and Tommy Meredith. Survivors include her children: Alfred Meredith and Betty Wilson, both of Montgomery, Ala., Shep Meredith of Wewahitchka, Frances Hancock of Prattville, Ala., Sam Meredith of Montgomery, Ala., Donald Meredith of Eclectic, Ala., David Meredith of Bonifay, and Wimp Meredith of Wewahitchka; 22 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, from the graveside in Jehu Cemetery. Internment will follow. She will lie in state at the Comforter Funeral Home, Wewahitchka Branch Chapel from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

THELMA FARMER RICHMOND
Ms. Thelma Farmer Richmond, 80, of West Palm Beach, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 2000, at Hospice of West Palm Beach. Born in Cabanal, Ark., on Jan. 18, 1920, she lived in Panama City until 1998 and was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church. She worked for Joyce's Touch of Class from 1982 until she retired in 1998. Ms. Richmond is predeceased by her husband Frank; brother, Paul Farmer; and sister, Ina Crossland. She is survived by her son, Philip Richmond and his wife Kathi; one grandson, Steven Richmond, all of West Palm Beach; one sister, Bonnie Crossland and her husband Melvin, of Hobbs N.M.; sister-in-law, Sue Farmer of Panama City; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted today, Aug. 21, 2000, at 11 a.m. in the Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Everage and Dr. J.E. Hodges officiating. Interment will follow in the Lynn Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 3 to 5 p.m.

JEANNIE SHIRELY
Ms. Jeannie Vickers Shirely, 50, passed away Friday, Aug. 18, 2000, at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Bay County and a homemaker. She is predeceased by her father, Red Vickers and son, Michael Shirely. She is survived by her mother, Earline Vickers of Springfield; son, David C. Shirley and wife Carmen of Panama City; two brothers, Buddy Vickers and wife Mary-Ann, and Jack Vickers, both of Panama City; five sisters: Mary Watson of Jacksonville, Janice Scarbrough and husband Gary, Vernelle Padilla and husband Andy, Linda Stewart and husband Mike, all of Panama City, and Judy Dotson and husband Greg of Maize, Kan.; three grandchildren: Michael and Jenna Shirely and Brandi Rines, all of Panama City. Funeral services will be held today, Aug. 21, 2000, at 3 p.m. in the Callaway Assembly of God with the Rev. Bobby Thompson and the Rev. Al Vealy officiating. Internment will follow at Callaway Cemetery. Asked to serve as pallbearers are Gary Scarbrough, Mike Stewart, Robert Johnson, Scotty Scarbrough, Jerome Herring and David Hulsman.

RICHARD ROBERT WANDREI
Richard Robert Wandrei, 68, of 167 Christopher Drive in Panama City Beach, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000, in his home. He had been a resident of Panama City Beach since 1972. He was a retired Tech Sergeant in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He was a member of the High Praise Worship Center. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Wandrei; five children: Charles Palmer and wife Ann, Ann Bradley and husband David, Danny Cohen, Chris Cohen and wife Kim, Chi Quang Tran and husband Dao; sister, Pat Engle and husband Jack; brother, James Marten and wife Reiko; and six grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the High Praise Worship Center, 7124 E. State 22, with Pastor Robert Gay officiating. DOSSIE THOMPSON
Mrs. Dossie Thompson, 88, of 2210 East 9th St. in Panama City, passed away Aug. 19, 2000, at a local hospital. She was a native of Round Lake, Fla., and had lived in Panama City most of her life. She was member of House of Prayer. Survivors include two sons, Tony Thompson and wife Debbie of Panama City, and Jimmy Harrison and wife Virginia of Port St. Joe; a sister, Dora Pope and husband Russell of Blountstown; a brother, Willard Jordan of Panama City; and her grandchildren: Miriam Smith, Mari Harrison, Kevin Findley, Brent Findley and James Wilson. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Thompson. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Aug. 21, 2000, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lewis Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Pat O'Brian, Steve Wallace, Brent Findley, James Wilson, John Miller and Charles Nixon.

EVELYN BYERS
Mrs. Evelyn Byers, age 74, of 243 Elm Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at her home. She had been a resident of the area since 1950, coming here from Gainesville, Fla. Mrs. Byers enjoyed fishing, cooking, her family and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She retired in 1986 as the department manager for ladies wear at Sears Roebuck and Company and was an active member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Byers is survived by her husband, Charles Byers of Panama City; two daughters, Eileen Bryant and her husband Buddy and Sandra "Sandi" Jordan and her husband Ted, all of Panama City; four grandchildren, Danny Heaton of Panama City, Janet Churchwell and her husband Mike of Greenhead, Fla., Charles Cox and his wife Lisa and Taylor Michelle Jordan, all of Panama City; three great-grandchildren, Jennifer Churchwell of Panama City, Michael Churchwell of Greenhead, and Johnathan Cox of Panama City; a sister, Marie Jones of Gainesville, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Mae Perkins of Bell, Fla.; two nieces, Carolyn Lobkowiez of Royal Oaks, Mich., and Joanne Halter of Bell, Fla.; and two great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shelly and Rose Perkins; a brother, Cecil Perkins; and a brother-in-law, Blan Jones. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Douglas officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Mike Churchwell, Danny Heaton, Ralph Heaton, Ed Swearingen, David Brahier, Mike Swearingen, Mac Bowen, and Randy Nelson. THOMAS P. MESERVE
Mr. Thomas P. Meserve, 52, of Southport, Fla., died Sunday afternoon, Aug. 20, 2000, in a local hospital. Born in St. Augustine, Fla., he moved here in 1984 from Michigan. He was employed by Merrick Corporation and was a member of First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven. He was also a member of the amateur radio club. Mr. Meserve is a veteran of the USAF serving 20 years. He is survived by his mother, Kathleen Rose Meserve of St. Augustine; his wife, Bessie Meserve of Southport; one son, Thomas P. Meserve Jr. and wife Wendy of Lynn Haven; one brother, George Seth "Buster" Meserve and wife Peggy of Tallahassee; one sister, Sandy Meserve of Palatka, Fla.; special friends, Gene and Jean Snodgrass, Eddie and Elaine Senterfitt. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m. in First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven with the Rev. Jim Kirkland and the Rev. Burney Enzor officiating. Interment will follow in Lynn Haven Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be all members of the Adult Three Dept.-First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven. Mrs. Kathleen Walker, of 906 East 16th St., Panama City, Fla., died Aug. 15, 2000, at Gulf Coast Convalescent Center. GERALD 'JERRY' BIATHROW
Mr. Gerald "Jerry" Biathrow, age 61, of 1940 Sherman Ave., Lot 231, Panama City, Fla., died Monday, Aug. 21, 2000 at his home. He was born in Nashua, N.H., moved to Florida in 1971 and settled down in Panama City in 1985. Mr. Biathrow served his country in the U.S. Navy for four years. His special interests were crossword puzzle and Scrabble. He was a big sports enthusiast and a fan of the Boston Red Sox. Mr. Biathrow retired eight years ago from Albertson's Grocery store where he was the liquor store manager. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Peggy Ann Biathrow of Panama City; a daughter, Debbie Rowden and her husband Doug of St. Petersburg, Fla.; sons, Jeff Biathrow of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Bill Adkins and his wife Kathy of Panama City; brothers, Raymond Biathrow of Lima, Ohio, and Donald Biathrow and his wife Dawn of Milford, N.H.; a sister, Beverly Bearden and her husband Lance of Wanamassa, N.J.; and six grandchildren, Jamie Lord, Christopher Rowden, Keri Biathrow, Kayla Biathrow, Amberlyn Adkins and Nicole Adkins.
