Casey Wheelus Hood, 36, of Panacea, formerly of Cottondale, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, in a car accident.

She was a graduate of Cottondale High School and Methodist by faith. She was an elderly-care assistant.

She was preceded in death by her father, C.W. Wheelus; grandparents, L.W. and Donie Ward, Samuel Hinton and Bessie Smith, and Cody and Bernice Wheelus.

Survivors include her mother, Rita Wheelus of Cottondale; husband, William Lee Hood of Panama City; son, Michael Hood of Atlanta, Ga.; brother, Ronald Wheelus and wife Ann of Marianna; sister, Amy Wheelus of Atlanta, Ga.; nephews, Charles Wheelus of Lake Worth and Jeff Wheelus of Marianna; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 26, at 2 p.m., in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home, with Pastor Ron Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Cottondale First Baptist Church Cemetery. The family welcomes friends and family members at the home of Rita Wheelus in Cottondale.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Wieuca Road Baptist Church Youth Group, 3626 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, Ga., 30326. Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Sheryl Linda Pelt, 59, of Tallahassee, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005,at her residence.

She was born in Marianna, but lived in Tallahassee for 40 years. She retired from the Florida State University Chemistry Department where she had worked for 30 years. She was a member of the Marianna Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Pelt.

Survivors include her mother, Mildred Holt of Marianna; brother, Stephen Holt; and sisters, Sybil Curran, Chrystelle Caslar, Penny Calvin, Doris Richardson, and Florence Sanders.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 26, at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Marianna, with Pastor Chuck Woods officiating. The family will receive friends at Maddox Chapel Friday, from 9 a.m. until service time.

Madonna Velez, 50, of Marianna died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Panama City. Arrangements will be announced by James and Sikes Maddox Chapel.

Addie Mae Godwin, 95, of Campbellton's Stateline Community, passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, at her residence.

She was born in Searight, Ala., to the late James and Lizzie Wesley. She was the seventh of 14 children. She lived a wonderful life and is the last of her siblings to depart this world. She often wondered why God kept her on this side for 95 years. She was converted at an early age and joined the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Stateline, Ala. She was a faithful member, serving as the church secretary and as a member of the Ladies Aide Society for many years.

She was united in holy matrimony Dec. 16, 1926, to the late Rasmus Godwin. Of this union, no children were born. She took on the role of mother to many nieces and nephews. She leaves to cherish her memories a host of beloved relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 26, at the St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Campbellton, with the Revs. Robert Register and O.Z. Waddell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, with McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton directing.

The body will lie at the church one hour prior to services. Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 25, from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m., at the McKinnie Funeral Home Chapel.

Larry L. Hightower, 82, died Sunday, July 24, 2005, following an extended illness.

He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. He was a veteran of World War II as a flight instructor with the United States Air Force. He was awarded the Air Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three Bronze Service Stars for participation in the Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe Campaigns; American Campaign Medal; and the World War II Victory Medal.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Callie M. Croft Hightower of Marianna; his son, Craig Hightower of Marianna; daughters, Teqwin Matenaer and husband Steve of Redding, Calif., Naomi Low of Clovis, Calif., and Taska Campbell of Altha; sister, Sarah Belle of New York; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral servcies will be held today, July 26, at 10 a.m., graveside at Cow Pen Pond Cemetery, with the Rev. Andy Glover officiating.

Lord Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Ann Lipford, 61, of Marianna passed away Friday, July 22, 2005 at her residence following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., today, July 26, at Live Oak Assembly of God Church in Bonifay. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel of Marianna directing.

Mamie Paulk Robison, 81, of Malone died Friday, July 29, 2005 at her residence.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Malone, a homemaker and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.E. Robison; her parents, Samuel D. and Ollie Paulk; a brother, Amos D. Paulk; sisters Myrtle Bedsole, Ollie Mae Mathis; three grandchildren, Tommy Calloway, Kelli Calloway and Jo Ellen Robinson; and step mother, Mary Paulk Sikes.

She is survived by her son, Ray Robison and wife Kathy of Malone; her daughters, Sara Robinson and husband Buddy of Gordan, Ala., Glenda Williams of Dothan,Ala., Carol Calloway of Malone, Pennijo Fowler and husband Ronald of Greenwood, Lisa Burns of Alpharetta, Ga.; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug 1, at 10 a.m., at Friendship Baptist Church in Malone with the Revs. Andy Glover, John Smith and Van Clack officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with James and Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel of Marianna directing. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., today, July 31, at James and Sikes Maddox Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, P.O. Box 637, Marianna, Fla., 32447 or Friendship Baptist Church, Malone, Fla. 32445.

Thomas J. Hutchison, 85, of Altha, passed away Friday, July 29, 2005.

He was a member of the National Association of Civilian Conservation Corps Alumni. He will be remembered as a hard-working man who enjoyed reading, the outdoors and spending time with is family. He will also be remembered for his wonderful story telling ability.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rozier Henry and Thelma Gertrude Hutchison; and his brothers, P.D. Hutchison, John Hutchison and Bat P. Hutchison.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Fannie Hutchison of Altha; son, Thomas A. Hutchison and wife Lisa of Altha; daughters, Patricia Cahill and husband Dennis of Piscataway, N.J., and Cheryl Robinson and husband Ricky of Marianna; brothers, Frank Hutchison of Vero Beach and Roy Hutchison and wife Vada of Altha; sisters, Gladys Wood of Boise, Idaho, Faye Gable of Grand Ridge and Sue Dykes of Altha; grandchildren, Jonathan Cahill, Megan Cahill, Sarah Cahill, Tyler Hutchison, Lyan Hutchison, Garrison Hutchison, Necia Garcia and Brandon Robinson; great-grandchildren, Melissa Garcia and Landon Garcia.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, August 1, at Altha First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jim McIntosh officiating. Interment will follow in Old Shiloh Cemetery with Hall Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 5- 7 p.m. today, July 31, at Hall Funeral Home in Altha. Hall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Jimmy Harold Alderman Sr., 54, of Grand Ridge, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005, in Marianna.

He lived in this area for the past five years, moving here from Auburndale. He was Pentecostal by faith. He loved his family and enjoyed motorcycle riding and his truck driving.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar R. Alderman, in July 2005.

Survivors include his wife, Amy Denise Alderman of Grand Ridge; his mother, Lettie Alderman of Grand Ridge; sons, Jimmy Alderman Jr. and wife Cheryl of Auburndale, Scott Alderman of Auburndale, Jose Rodriguez and Antonio Rodriguez of Grand Ridge; daughters, Misty Boyd of Cottondale, Stacy Bamberg and husband Billy Joe of Auburndale, Marta Rodriguez and Akemi Rodriguez of Grand Ridge; brothers, William Alderman of Auburndale, Oscar Alderman of Grand Ridge and Kenny Alderman of Auburndale; sisters, Patricia Alderman of Wewahitchka and Marie Armstrong of Grand Ridge; grandchildren, Kelly Bess, Ayreal Marsh, Johnney Parrish, Matthew Bryant Alderman, Trevor Shane Alderman, Tabathia Lynn Bamberg, Derick Clayton Brooks, Cali Brooks and Brittany Brooks; and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, Aug. 23, at 2 p.m., in the Marianna Chapel Funeral Home, with Pastor Charles Jackson officiating.

Memorialization will be by cremation. The family will receive friends today from 12:30 - 1:45 p.m., prior to the service.

Marianna Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
