Mr. Leroy Rudd, 92, of 3616 E. 13th Court in Panama City, passed away Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at his home. Mr. Rudd had been a resident of Bay County since 1926 after coming here from Alford, Fla., and attended Springfield Community Church. Mr. Rudd is survived by six daughters, Eleana Raffield and Rena Mae Walker, both of Springfield, Allie Mae Dyer of Bayou George, Frances W. Holley and Catherine Nixon, both of Greenhead, Fla., and Gail Gainer of Springfield; four sons, Vester B. Rudd of Youngstown, James W. Rudd of Panama City, James H. Rudd of Southport, and Curtis Rudd of Bayou George; 32 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Two sons, Lester and Jackie Rudd, preceded Mr. Rudd in death. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 9, 2000, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.W. Hunt and the Rev. Bob Dyer officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Mr. Rudd's grandsons.

WILLIAM A. SABATO
Graveside services for Mr. William A. Sabato, 7800 Magnolia Beach Road, formerly of Paradise Lakes, Vernon, Fla., who passed away Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, in a local hospital, of lung cancer at the age of 71, will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Edward Meyer officiating. Internment will follow. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Bill Stephens, Jerry Krueger, John Hamre, George Pedley, Donald Gaddie and Ron Cloutier. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jordan Grant, L.C. McNeil, John Block, Don Anderson, Jerry Butts, Ray Gilbert, Russell Holly, Steve Medlin, Duwayne Sundet, John Hagan, Arthur Tice, Walton Cheshire and all the friends at Magnolia Beach RV Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church on behalf of the American Diabetes Association in memory of Mr. William A. Sabato. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000.

CLAIRE PIPPIN HOLLOWAY
Claire Pippin Holloway of Panama City passed away peacefully in her home early morning of Monday, Oct. 9. Mrs. Holloway will be remembered for touching hundreds of lives in her long and brilliant teaching career throughout Bay County. She served children at Cove Elementary School as a classroom teacher and music teacher, at Jinks Jr. High School, Northside, St. Andrews, Cherry Street and West Bay Elementary Schools as the music educator, and at Bay High School as an English teacher where her career ended abruptly in 1984 due to illness. Regardless of the subject matter in the classroom, she taught with a sense of music, and, most importantly, with the language of love. For the rest of her life she continued speaking this same language of genuine appreciation and concern for others in her relationships with her family, friends, acquaintances and even strangers. As she saw her heartfelt mission, to reflect Jesus's love, so she lived. She was a member and past president of Delta Kappa Gamma, the Panama City Music Association, the St. Andrew Bay Yacht Club, the St. Andrew United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church of Panama City and the Lions Club Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray H. Holloway Jr. She is survived by sons, Russell H. Holloway of Panama City, and Ray H. Holloway III and his wife, Patty Wager Holloway of Marietta, Ga.; and daughter, Terry Holloway Rubin and Steve W. Rubin of Panama City. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Katherine Holloway, Brent Holloway, Russell Holloway, Benjamin Rubin, Madelyn Rubin, Emily Rubin and Hilary Rubin. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Charles Hayes and Edward Britton officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to either Alzheimer's Association, the Epilepsy Foundation, or the Leprosy Foundation. The family will receive friends at Wilson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening.

ROBERT EUGENE 'FLASH' LUSSIER
Robert Eugene "Flash" Lussier, 31, of 1301 Beck Avenue, Panama City, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, as a result of an accident. He had been a resident of Panama City for 10 years. He is survived by his mother, Audrey Hankins and her husband, Daniel, of Gaithersburg, Md.; four brothers, John Karvonen and wife, Michelle of Missouri, David J. Lussier of Texas, Jerry L. Jones of Maryland, Daniel L. Hankins Jr. and wife, Deven of Virginia; three sisters, Allison L. Lussier of Texas, Patricia F. Jones, Krystle J. Hankins both of Maryland, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many close friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

EDWIN WILSON 'CAPTAIN ED' MAULDIN
Funeral Services for Mr. Edwin Wilson "Captain Ed" Mauldin who passed away Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, will be held 10:30 a.m. today, Oct. 10, 2000, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ron Gallagher officiating. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Garden Cemetery. BETTY JEAN BARFIELD
Mrs. Betty Jean Barfield, age 75, of Callaway, Fla., passed away Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, in a local hospital. Born in Daisy, Ga., she married William M. Barfield in 1952. They embarked on a military career that included tours of duty to Okinawa, Germany and several stateside assignments. The Barfield family settles in Panama City in 1967. Her husband, Lt. Col. William M. Barfield, USAF (Ret.), preceded Mrs. Barfield in death. Mrs. Barfield is survived by one son, Bill Barfield; one daughter, Sandra Barfield; and one grandson, Wesley Barfield, all of Panama City. Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Oct. 13, at 11 a.m., at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

J.F. 'FRANK' COATNEY, SR.
Mr. J.F. "Frank" Coatney Sr., age 68, of 1311 Gray Ave., Panama City, passed away Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at a local hospital. Mr. Coatney was a native of Vernon, Fla., and had lived in Panama City most of his life. He was self-employed in the automotive industry and in numerous other businesses in this area and was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Patricia Coatney of Panama City; one son, J.F. "Frank" Coatney Jr. and his wife Becki of Panama City; two daughters, Pam Elliot and her husband Stephen of Fort Worth, Texas and Trish Phillips and her husband Jared of Panama City; two brothers, Randall L. Coatney Jr. and Shelton Coatney, both of Panama City; two sisters, Corene Sellers of Panama City and Geraldine Burdeshaw of Niceville, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Joey Hendrix, Marie Coatney Walker, Matthew Hendrix, Farrah Bailey, Frank Coatney III, Michael Blaho, Olivia Coatney and L.J. Phillips. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Oct. 11, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Key officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. CHARLOTTE MARIE ELDER
Mrs. Charlotte Marie Elder, age 67, of 205 San Pablo St., Panama City Beach, Fla., died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at her home. She had been a resident of the area since 1970 and was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary AMVETS Post No. 47. She was also a member of Hot Rod Unit "Pet Crew" of Shaddai Shrine Temple. Mrs. Elder is survived by her husband of 50 years, Russ Elder of Panama City Beach; a daughter, Debra A. Elder Simmons and her husband John of Oneonta, Ala.; a son, Donald A. Elder and his wife Dawn of Bremen, Ga.; grandchildren, Jessica Belden and her husband Chris, Elena Marie Simmons, Joseph Simmons, Scott Lee Simmons and Brian Keith and Swendy Elder; great-grandchildren, Brent Elder, Courtney Elder and Baylee Beldon; sisters, Mildred Bartonfield of Dalton, Ga., and Emily Burch of Douglasville, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Ginger Kitner of Panama City Beach and Doris Hamilton of Salunga, Pa.; and a special friend, Cyndy Miner. Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. today, Oct. 11, at Kent-Forest Lawn Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Weaver officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, today, Oct. 11, from 5 to 6 p.m., an hour prior to service time. Mr. Charles C. Feeney, 65, of 1805 Baltimore Ave. in Panama City, passed away Monday, Oct. 9, 2000. Funeral services will be announced at a later date.

Jerry Leon Freeman, 58, of Fountain, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at his residence. He was born in Columbus, Ga., and lived most of his life in Jackson County, where he worked as a brick mason. He also worked for Georgia Power Company for the City of Atlanta. He was of the Pentecostal faith. He is survived by his mother, Myrtle Lee Freeman; two brothers, Thomas Freeman and Gordon Freeman, all of Marianna. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. CDT Thursday, Oct. 12, at Pilgrim's Rest Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Terry Broome officiating. Burial will follow in Vickery Cemetery with James and James Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing. Family will receive friends today, Oct. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. CDT at Maddox Chapel.
