Miss Teresa Lynn "Terri" Hammes, 27, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at her residence. Born in Detroit, Mich., she moved to Bay County in 1992 from Kansas City, Mo. Terri graduated from Park Hill High School in 1991. She is survived by her mother, Fran Brown and husband Robert of Panama City; her father, John Hammes of Kansas City, Mo.; one brother, Michael Hammes and wife Robbin of Overland Park, Kan.; grandparents, Andrew and Mae Hammes of Grand Haven, Mich. Terri will be sorely missed by all of her aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral services for Miss Hammes will be conducted Sunday, Oct. 29, at 2:30 p.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Curtis Kent officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday eveing from 5 to 7 p.m.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Kathleen Ann "Kay" Kohler, age 59, of Ruston, La., who died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 27, 2000, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lewis Rogers and the Rev. Pete Boyette officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories.

Funeral services for Marilyn Skinner Silcox will be held today at 2 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Floyd Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers are: Charley Gramling, Lamar Hutchison, Travis Scott, Herb Strange, Joe Souza, Mike Knowles, Edji Lippe and Tim Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers are: Dempsey Barron, Charlie Hilton, Dr. Tim Smith, Chip Gramling, General Dick Pasco, Tom Dellatore, Hank Basham, John Robbins, Jim Lovern, Ted Haney, Clay Cogburn and the Cornerstone Sunday School Class of Trinity United Methodist Church. RUBY LEE MESSICK
Ruby Lee "Betty" Messick, 75, of Lynn Haven, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, in a local hospital. Born in Westville, Fla., she moved to Bay County in 1953. Ms. Messick was employed by Taco Villa and was Baptist by faith. She was also a former member of the Panther's Motorcycle Club. Ms. Messick is preceded in death by her husband, J.D. "Jake" Messick. She is survived by her daughter, Alice "Jeanie" Griffiths of Lynn Haven; three granddaughters: Michelle Messick Berger, Christina Ledsome and Shelia Marshall; one grandson; and 12 great-grandchildren: Tiffany and James Messick, Amy and Amber Berger, Jessica, Katrina, Brianna and Tyler Griffiths, Willie Simmons Jr., Amy, Dillon and Richard Bristow. Funeral services for Ms. Messick were conducted Thursday afternoon, Oct. 26, at 4 p.m. in Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Larry Wade officiating. Interment followed in Lynn Haven Cemetery. The following gentlemen served as active pallbearers: Carl Hand, Mike Priest, Doug Ledsome, Johnny Sullivan, George Hand and Gary Mallory. Honorary pallbearers were: Dr. James E. Corry, Dr. Azzam Adhal and Mr. Harold Haynes.

EUGENE GEORGE 'GENE' RENWICK
Mr. Eugene George "Gene" Renwick, age 83, of Parker, Fla., died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at a local nursing facility. He had been a resident of the area since 1965, coming here from Oregon, where he was stationed in the Air Force. Mr. Renwick served his country during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era. Mr. Renwick was a member of the Parkway Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the Non-Commissioned Officers Assoc., Masonic Blue Lodge Consistory, a Life Member of the D.A.V., and the American Association of Retired People. In his retirement Mr. Renwick enjoyed playing golf and reading. Mr. Renwick is survived by his wife of 55 years, Grace Renwick of Panama City, Fla.; a sister: Thelma Toczek of Buffalo, N.Y.; numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends, Joy Pattersen, Eunice Hudspeth, and Kitty Siracuse. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stacy Wells and the Rev. Reid Cameron officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, P.O. Box 1530, Lynn Haven, FL 32444.

Funeral services for the Rev. Robert William Tauscher Sr., 76, who died Saturday, October 21, 2000, at Bay Medical Center, will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gary E. Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends today from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. PEARL I. ALEXANDER
Mrs. Pearl I. Alexander, 81, of Wewahitchka, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, in Bay Medical Center following a brief illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Wewahitchka, and a member of Honeyville United Methodist Church. She was a good mother and grandmother and loved her family and friends. She is survived by her son, Oscar Redd and wife Teresa of Wewahitchka; two grandchildren, Gloria Wood and husband Tommy and David Redd and wife Patty, all of Wewahitchka; two great-great-grandchildren, Lacey and Buddy Wood of Wewahitchka; one sister, Roxie Handley of Los Angeles, Calif.; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Honeyville United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. CST today, Oct. 28, conducted by the Rev. Gus Howerton and the Rev. David Taunton. WAYLAND TOOKEY CLARK
Mr. Wayland Tookey "Speedy" Clark died at this home in Sunnyside, Fla., on Oct. 25, 2000, after a long illness. This good man - a devoted husband, father, and grandfather - lived his life by the Golden Rule and loved his family and friends, who loved him equally in return. Mr. Clark was born in Graceville, Fla., and during his lifetime lived in Columbus, Ga.; Clio, Ala.; and Panama City Beach, Fla., making his living as a railroad switchman, printer, gas station operator, mechanic, handyman extraordinaire, and retiring with the love of his life as a contented beach bum. He was a member of Mt. Hermon Masonic Lodge of Columbus, Ga., for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife Jeanette, whom he loved completely; his daughters and sons-in-law: Elaine and Marvin Bassett, Melissa and Pat Faucheux, Patty and Juhan Mixon, Kay and Jim Whittemore, and Nan Summerall; his grandchildren: Mellie and Katie Bassett, Chad, Abbey, Monique and Patrick Faucheux, Shawn Middleton, Corinne Mixon, Jason, Chris and Kelly Whittemore and Chase and Eric Summerall; his sister, Retha Powell; his brother and sister-in-law, Wendell R. and Christine Clark; his sisters-in-law, Margaret Goss, Annie Lee Clark, Katherine Clark and Bonnie Clark; many nieces and nephews, and a host of loving friends. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Oct. 28, at Gulf View United Methodist Church in Panama City, with interment at Kent-Forest Lawn Cemetery in Panama City. Mrs. Dorris Best Downs, age 81, of 404 S. Palo Alto Ave., Panama City, Fla., passed away Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at her home after a brief illness. She had been a resident of the area for 45 years, coming here from Hartford, Conn. Mrs. Downs was a homemaker and a loving mother and will be missed by all of her friends. She is survived by her sons, Terry Downs and his wife Kathryn of South Fla., and William W. Downs and his wife Debra of Panama City Beach; a daughter, Lynda Wilson and her husband, Mike of Fountain, Fla.; grandchildren: Megan Downs Rogers, Cassie Wilson Goodwin, Mallori Downs and Michael Wilson II; and stepgrandchildren: John Wilson, Eric Downs and Cory Downs. Graveside funeral services will be held 11a.m. today, Oct. 28, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ron L'Huillier officiating. Interment will follow.
