Vernell "Cricket" Barfield, 74, of Wausau, Fla., passed from this life on Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at her residence. She had resided in Wausau since 1951 coming from Panama City. She was of the Assembly of God faith. The funeral services will be Thursday, Nov. 9, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Chipley, with the Rev. Troy Lee Walsingham officiating. Burial will follow in Barfield Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 8, at Chapel of Brown Funeral Home. Survivors are her husband, Wilbur Barfield of Wausau; two sons, Eddie Wayne Barfield of Wausau, Billy Barfield of Centre, Ala.; five brothers: Joe Don Smith of Florala, Ala., Larry Smith of Andalusia, Ala., Durant Smith, Delmus Smith, E.J. Smith all of Wing, Ala.; two sisters, Mavis Kelley of Baker, Fla., Nell Chambers of Florala; two grandchildren, Blake Barfield and Whitney Carpenter; and one great-grandchild, Elliott Barfield.

DANDRIDGE S. CARTER
Retired Lt. Col. U.S.M.C., Dandridge S. Carter, age 53, of Panama City Beach, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at his residence. He was a native of Atlanta, Ga., and had lived in Panama City Beach for three years, moving here from Washington D.C. Lt. Col. Carter retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as a Lt. Colonel after 30 years of service. He was a Vietnam veteran and was head of Human Counterintelligence in the U.S. Marine Corps. Lt. Col. Carter received many awards and accommodations including the meritorious service medal with star and the Navy commendation medal. He also served as past commander for the VFW Emerald Coast Post No. 10555. Lt. Col. Carter is survived by his wife, Jennie Carter of Panama City Beach; a daughter, Patricia Carter of Washington D.C.; two sons, Thomas Carter and his wife, Regina and Gregory Carter, all of Washington D.C.; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Linn T. Howick of Seagrove Beach, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde S. Carter of Fredericksburg, Va.; three brothers: Thomas Howick of Marietta, Ga., Geoff Carter of Japan and Anthony Carter of Washington D.C.; two sisters, Susan Howick of Atlanta and Alison Harvey of Fredericksburg, Va.; and two granddaughters, Leah Carter and Madeline Carter. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at the Emerald Coast VFW Post No. 10555. Committal services will be held 1 p.m. EST Friday, Nov. 17, at Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle, Va., with full honors conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Building Fund of Emerald Coast VFW Post No. 10555.

RUDOLPH CROMER
Mr. Rudolph Cromer, age 74, of Panama City, Fla., passed away after a very brief illness, Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at a local hospital. He has been a lifetime resident of the area and was active with the Council of Aging. Mr. Cromer was an artist who loved his artistry. He is survived by his sister, Eve Roby Allen of Youngstown; a brother, John Presnell of Montgomery, Ala.; nephews and nieces: Carl Roby, Cynthia Roby Lewis, Doug Roby, Mark Presnell, Clark Presnell and Leslie Whitworth; and numerous grand-nephews and nieces. Mr. Comer was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Presnell; and nephews, Victor John Roby and Kent Jackson Presnell. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at Greenwood Cemetery with Mr. Ray Palmer officiating. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2012 A Lisenby Ave., Panama City, FL 32405.

CHARLES EDWARD HALL JR.
Mr. Charles Edward Hall Jr. of 160 Hill Drive, Panama City, Fla., died of leukemia Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at his home. He has been a resident of the area since 1971 and was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Mr. Hall retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the NCOA, Air Force Sergeants Association and the Air Force Association. He loved working in the garden and collecting stamps. Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Joanne Hall of Panama City; daughters, Christine Pate and her husband Michael and Jennifer Singleton and her husband Chip, all of Panama City; grandchildren: Nicole Pate, Amber Pate and Hayley Singleton; a brother, Thomas Hall of Williamsport, Penn.;and a sister, Sally DeLauer of Santa Maria, Calif. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Interment will follow. Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Robbins Maddox, born in Parker, Fla., Feb. 9, 1926, who passed away Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, will be held 10 a.m. today, Nov. 8, 2000, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mrs. Mary Lucille Boddye, age 92, of 2541 E. 6th St., Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at a local nursing facility. She had been a resident of the area since 1933. Mrs. Boddye was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a former Sunday school teacher. She is survived by a daughter, Ila Modawell and her husband John of Panama City, Fla.; a brother, James Eugene Boddye and his wife Shirley of Howards Creek, Fla.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 11, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are the Deacons of Calvary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Friday, Nov. 10, from 6 until 8 p.m.

LOREN S. KELLEY
Mr. Loren S. Kelley, 87, of Highland View, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at Gulf Pines Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was a native of Bonifay, and had lived in Highland View since 1937. He was retired from the Florida State Road Department and Raffield Fisheries, and was a member of Highland View Assembly of God Church. Survivors include two sons, George Kelley and wife Jeanie of Pansey, Ala., and Frankie Kelley of Highland View; one sister, Essie V. Williams of Bonifay; two granddaughters, Christine Allen and Kathryn Tate, both of Pansey, Ala.; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary Kelley; and three sisters: Beaulah Hatfield, Eulah Rodgers, and Ruth Williams. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. EST Friday, Nov. 10 at Highland View Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Jean Shoots officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 5 to 7 p.m. EST at the funeral home.

NOAH H. KELLEY
Mr. Noah H. Kelley, age 82, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at a local hospital. He was a native of Georgia and had lived in Panama for 40 years, moving here from Fountain, Fla. Mr. Kelley was a retired brick mason, a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Army and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Panama City. He is survived by two sons, Stanley Kelley and his wife Reba and Travis Kelley and his wife Marty, all of Springfield; seven daughters, Marty Elizabeth Kelley of Parker, Joann Grantham and her husband Jerry of Youngstown, Myrtle Creamer and her husband Ronnie of Southport, Teresa Melvin of Cedar Grove, Judy Griffin and her husband David of Acworth, Ga., Ann Halley of Cedar Grove, and Karen Whetstine and her husband Terrence of Cedar Grove; a sister, Virginia Haze of Valdosta, Ga.; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Cleatha Kelley and a daughter,Regina Dykes. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 11, at State Avenue Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bro. Glen Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Mr. Kelley's grandsons, Bishop Sloan, Kevin Kelley, Travis Kelley Jr., Jimmy Strickland, Don Williams, Rickey McNeil, Steve McNeil and Allen Roberts. Mr. Marcus L. Bolling-Broxton, 29, of Rochester, N.Y., died suddenly Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000. He was a native of Panama City, Fla., and attended public schools in Bay County. He was survived by mother, Kathy (Jay) Broxton of Panama City; two children; five brothers; two sisters; grandmother, Mattie Tibbs of Rochester; great-uncle, Phillip Flowers; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m., at Central Church of Christ, 101 S. Plymouth Ave. Interment will follow in Grove Place Cemetery.
