NELLIE ISABELL MANGHUM
Nellie Isabell Manghum, 93, of Riverside, Calif., died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, in California. She had been a resident of Panama City from 1935 to 1957. She was a former member of Lynn Haven Baptist Church. Mrs. Manghum was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Manghum. She is survived by her son, Patrick Manghum of Howell, Mich. and a daughter, Alice Barnstable of Riverside, Calif.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Bruce Raley officiating.

GEORGE F. McNULTY JR.
Mr. George F. McNulty Jr., 77, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Friday, Nov. 10, 2000, at his home. Born in Atlanta, Ga., he moved to Panama City in 1976 from Mobile, Ala. He worked as an engineer for Unisys and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. He was a veteran of World War II. He served in the 2nd Air Division, the 8th Army-Air Corp., and the 93rd Bomb Group and was a nose gunner on the Liberator B24. While serving his country he achieved the tank of tech sergeant. He was also a member of Southeastern Senior Golf Association and Society of Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singers Association. Mr. McNulty is survived by one son, Mike McNulty of Panama City; one daughter, Teresa Cannon of Greenback, Tenn.; one sister, Eileen Clouatre of Olympia, Wash.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A daughter, Susan Stotler precedes Mr. McNulty in death. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with Father Marty Bratek officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to funeral service.

LESLIE G. SCOTT
Leslie G. Scott, 76, of Port St. Joe, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at his home in Port St. Joe. Born in Alford, he was retired as superintendent with the city of Port St. Joe after 29 years of service. He was a U.S. Army-Air Force Veteran, a charter member of American Legion Post No. 302 of Alford, and was of the Methodist faith. He is survived by his wife, Vivian B. Scott of Port St. Joe; one son, Leslie R. Scott of Port St. Joe; one daughter, Sheila Parker of Port St. Joe; three brothers, Pete Scott of Alford, John Scott of Marianna and Davis Scott of Kingman, Ark.; two sisters, Annette Williams of Panama City Beach, and Phyllis Howell of Blountstown; and two grandchildren, Malachi Parker and Lail Parker of Port St. Joe. Graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. CST Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Alford City Cemetery with miliary rites conducted by Sneads American Legion Post No. 241. No visitation is planned.

ANN MARIE (ROSS) BONAR
Ann Marie (Ross) Bonar, age 65, formerly of Jackson, Mich., went to be with the Lord, Nov. 11, 2000. She was active with the YMCA Aquatic Program, the Michigan State Cooperative Extension Program, Wesleyan Church Camps and was an accomplished marimbist and seamtress. Surviving are one daughter, Suzanne (Stan) Gibbs of Spring Arbor; four sons: Paul Stuart of Phoenix, Ariz., James (Barbara) Stuart, Mark Stuart all of Spring Arbor, Stephen (Marie) Stuart of Richmond, Ky.; 11 grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Bonar of Panama City; two brothers, Henry (Barbra) Bonar II of Jacksonville, Fla., David (Sarah) Bonar of Marrero, La.; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, James Bonar. Mrs. Bonar is at Watson Funeral Chapel where services will be held Thursday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Lenoxburg, Ky. Contributions may be made to the Jackson YMCA. Visitation will be held today from 3 to 6 p.m.

JERRY DEAN BRANNON
Mr. Jerry Dean Brannon, age 66, of 2917 Wakulla Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at a local hospital. He has been a lifetime resident of the area and was Baptist by faith. Mr. Brannon served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was the Captain of fishing and oil boats. He also loved to hunt, fish and play the guitar. Mr. Brannon is survived by his wife, June Louise Brannon of Panama City; a daughter, Evelyn Brannon of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Ignatius Brannon and his wife, Patrice of Panama City and Cleo Brannon and his wife, Joy of Southport; a brother, Ervin Brannon of Panama City; grandchildren: Eric Brannon, Ignatius Brannon II, Christina Brannon, Nicholas Brannon, Michael Brannon, Andrew Brannon, Matthew Brannon and Kelly Brannon; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Key officiating. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Charles Renfroe, David McMillin, James Moser, Ernie Woods, Cleo Brannon and Ignatius Brannon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, Nov. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m.

THELMA EVERS
Mrs. Thelma Evers, 86, of Panama City, passed away Nov. 13, 2000. She was a long-time resident of Birmingham, Ala., prior to moving to Panama City in 1998. She was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church of Birmingham and the Lady's Auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Evers Sr., and her seven brothers. She is survived by two sons, Donnie and Larry Ingram of Panama City; two stepsons, Herman Evers Jr., of Birmingham and Robert Evers of Lutz, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Edna Caretti of Cullman, Ala.; two granddaughters, Lisa Jordan and Julie Phillips; 14 stepchildren; four great-grandchildren and 16 stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in Birmingham at Ridouts East Funeral Home Nov. 18, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

HAROLD RICHARD "DICK" KELLY
Mr. Harold Richard "Dick" Kelly, 68, of 4122 Sue Lane, Springfield, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000 at his home. Born in Cambridge, Mass., he moved here in 1974 from Selma, Ala. He was a retired Master Sergeant serving in the U.S.A.F. for 23 years. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was also employed with Bay County Sheriff's Office for 91/2 years as well as a supervisor for 15 years with CCA. He was a member of the D.A.V., Honorary Sheriff's Association and the Bay County Jail Ministry. His father, Harold Kelly and a son, Kim Kelly, preceded him in death. Mr. Kelly is survived by his mother, Edna Partridge Kelly of Lynn Haven; his wife, Brenda Faye Kelly of Springfield; five sons: Keith Kelly and wife Joni of Lynn Haven, Joshua Kelly of Springfield, Nathaniel Loyd of Panama City, Byron Butler of Port St. Joe and Wesley Colvin of Wewahitchka, Fla.; four daughters: Kyshia Limburger and husband Jim and Tricia Moore and husband Jeff all of Charlotte, N.C., Erika Guidera and husband Billy of Monroe, N.C. and Natashia Loyd of Panama City; eight grandchildren: Clinton and Craig Kelly, Cheyna Faye, Alex and Gabriella Guiera, Maykle Butler, Auther Carson Moore and Elizabeth Kate Limburger. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 10 a.m., in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.W. Hunt officiating. Full military honors will be accorded. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

ALVIN F. ROOKS
Mr. Alvin F. Rooks, age 90, of 1609 W. 10th St., Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000 at a local hospital. He has been a resident of the area since 1945, coming here from Cottondale, Fla. Mr. Rooks enjoyed gardening, fishing, and woodworking. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Rooks of Panama City; a daughter, Gloria LeSuer of Panama City; a grandson, Richard Alan LeSuer of Panama City; granddaughter, Joy Reid of Panama City; two great- Granddaughters, Natasha Thomas of Hawaii and Jennifer Lynn LeSuer of Altha, Fla.; and two great-great-grandsons, Cody Sawyer of Panama City and Logan LeSuer of Altha. Mr. Rooks was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Alvin Rooks; a sister, Edith Edwards; his father, Carl Levi Rooks; and his mother, Nancy Mary Rooks. Graveside funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 17at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bob Hayes officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Thurs., Nov. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m.

HAMP S. STEVENS
Mr. Hamp S. Stevens, 81, of Port St. Joe, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000 in Gulf Pines Hospital following a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Port St. Joe, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was retired from West Florida Gas Co., which later became Amerigas. Mr. Stevens was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Sherry Logan of Woodstock, Ga. Survivors include two daughters, Carol Corbitt of Winter Haven, and Lynn Francioni of Schaumburg, Ill.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Norman Stevens of Panama City; and two sisters, Jane Shurrum of Panama City and Effie Lyles of White City. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. EST (10 CST) Friday, Nov. 17 at Jehu Cemetery, with interment to follow. He will lie in state at Comforter Funeral Home, Thursday, from 5 to 7 p.m. EST.

JAMES W. THURMAN
James W. Thurman of Panama City, passed away Nov. 15, 2000 at his home. He lived in Panama City all his life, coming here at the age of nine months from Camden, Ark., where he was born. He served two years in the U.S. Army. He worked for Ideal Baking Company. Mr. Thurman then went to work for Tyndall Air Force Base as a warehouseman retiring in 1988. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Sallie Thurman and three brothers: Tommy, Walter and Bobby Thurman. Survivors include his wife, Hortense; son, Stephen and wife, Kathy; two grandchildren, Blake and Brittany Thurman, all of Panama City and one brother, Cecil Thurman of Gastonia, N.C. He claimed his wife's family as his own and leaves five brothers-in-law, six sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Allan Carroll Watkins, 44, of Panama City passed away Monday, Nov. 13, 2000. Mr. Watkins was well-known as a Panama City fisherman. Funeral services will be announced in tomorrow's obituary notice.
