FRANK SCOTT
Frank Scott , 91, of 1434 Mercedes Ave, died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, in a local nursing facility. Mr. Scott was born to the late Wesley C. and Minnie Scott in Blounstown, Fla. He was the second oldest of four boys. He moved to Panama City in 1941 and was united in holy matrimony to Mary Scott. Mr. Scott was a faithful member of Mt. Olive AME Church in St. Andrews, Fla., until his health failed. Mr. Scott is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Scott of Panama City and one brother, W.C. Scott and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Services for Mr. Scott will be held Saturday, Nov. 25, at 12 p.m. in Blounstown, Fla., at Saint Rose AME Church. Interment will follow at Saint Rose Cemetery in Blounstown. Visitation will be today at Gainer Family Funeral Home from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

ARTHUR EVANS SLAASTED
Mr. Arthur Evans Slaasted, age 74, of 6527 Harbour Blvd., Panama City Beach, Fla., died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1988, coming here from Rolling Meadows, Ill. Mr. Slaasted was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. He served his country in the U. S. Navy during WWII as a MoMMC and was a 56 year member of American Legion Post No. 310, Racine, Wis. Mr. Slaasted was an avid supporter of school functions and activities and also had coached Little League. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Virginia Slaasted of Panama City Beach, Fla.; a son, Jeffery Alan Slaasted and his wife Lois of Richmond, Va.; a brother, Jerome Slaasted and his wife Nancy of Neenah, Wis.; grandchildren: Steven, James, Kinsey, Corey, Chelsea, Lauren, and Evan Slaasted; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Scott Slaasted. Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Nov. 24, 2000, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church with Father David O'Shea officiating. The family will receive friends at the church today, Nov. 24, 2000, from 10:30 until 11 a.m., prior to service time.

VINCENT TURNER, JR.
Vincent Turner, Jr., 55, of Panama City, died Monday, after a brief illness. He was a local painter in Panama City. Family and friends will hold a private memorial service at a later date. The family requested memorialization by cremation.

EVA LOVINA 'GRANNY' BURTON
Mrs. Eva Lovina "Granny" Burton, 87, of 626 N. Tyndall Parkway, Callaway, passed away Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, in a local nursing home. Born in Caryville, she moved here 60 years ago. She was a homemaker and Methodist by faith. Her husband, Joe Burton, a daughter, Wynniel Burton Robbins and a son, Virgil Burton, preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons, Willard Burton of Deer Point Lake, Ronnie Burton and wife Leona of Southport, and Lonnie Burton of Deer Point Lake; three daughters, Jeniel Barnes of Deer Point Lake, Nell Spann and husband Earnest Lee of Wewahitchka and Evelyn Bailey and husband Bud of Callaway; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 until 10 a.m. before the funeral service.

Funeral services for Mr. Louie "Jack" Coker, 71, of 1440 Luckie Ave., Panama City, who died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Buddy Glass officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

ALICE MACHICH DEAN
Alice Machich Dean, 80, of Panama City, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 24, 1920, in Johnstown, Pa., the daughter of John and Stanka Tomevich Machich. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Dean, and three brothers, Samuel Machich, Milan Machich and George Machich. She was a member of the Harvest Worship Center. She was a retired lunchroom assistant manager for the Bay County School System. She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Bryan and her husband Tilman J. "Jimmy" Bryan, and Rosalind "Roz" L. Ellis, all of Panama City; three grandchildren, James Bryan and his wife Candice of Panama City, Tech. Sgt. David Ellis and wife Diane of Humboldt, Neb., Master Sgt. Ron Ellis and wife Debby of Spokane, Wash.; sister-in-law Louise Machich of Richmond, Va.; 15 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. John Ramsey officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday. Those desiring to may make a contribution to Harvest Worship Center in memory of Alice Dean.

Memorial services for Miwako Ikeguchi, 73, of 2906 Kings Drive, Panama City, who died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, in her home, will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m., in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Those desiring to may make a contribution to Hospice of Northwest Florida in memory of Miwako Ikeguchi.

FRANCES WINIFRED GILL KIND
Mrs. Frances Winifred Gill Kind, 78, of St. Andrews, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at a local nursing facility. She was a native of St. Petersburg and lived in this area for many years. Mrs. Kind was the former manager of Mattie's Cottages in St. Andrews in the 1940's and was of the Protestant faith. She is survived by a brother, Arthur Lee Gill of St. Andrews; a sister, Bea Moates of Chipley; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Kind and a son, Arthur Allen Kind. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. J.W. Hunt officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home from noon until 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends "Pick an Angel" from local Angel Tree charity drives during the holidays in Frances Kind's name. The family would also like to express special thanks to the staff of Emerald Shores Nursing Facility for the excellent care given to Mrs. Kind.

ELLIE CATHERINE LIESEMEYER
Mrs. Ellie Catherine Liesemeyer, 80, of Youngstown, died on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at a local hospital. She was a native of Greensboro, and had been a resident of the Bay County area since 1961, moving here from Gadsden, Ala. With her late husband Alfred, she owned and operated the Flamingo Motel on Panama City Beach for 20 years. She was a dedicated wife and mother who was always there for her family. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and quilting and was a member of the Panama City Sewing Guild. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active with the Mary and Martha League. Mrs. Liesemeyer is survived by sons, Herman "Tom" Liesemeyer and his wife Marchand of Youngstown, Michael E. Liesemeyer and his wife Patti of Pensacola; daughters, Elaine Densmore and her husband Michael of Wilsonville, Ala., Betty Pylant and her husband Joe of Morris, Ala.; brothers: Maxwell Fletcher of Quincy, Herbert Fletcher and his wife Gwen of Tallahassee; nine grandchildren, Keith Liesemeyer, Scott Liesemeyer, Michelle Edmondson, Melissa Densmore, Aimee Llewllyn, Jacob Densmore, Kayelyn Liesemeyer, Katie Pylant, Logan Pylant; and two great-granddaughters, Megan Liesemeyer and Savannah Edmondson. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Edward Meyer officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Wayne Kramer, George Pedley, Jimmy Tatum, Raymond Dean, Don Anderson and John Hamre.

BETTY LOU OWENS PAUL
Mrs. Betty Lou Owens Paul, 61, of Greenhead, died Tuesday at her home. Mrs. Paul was born in Bristol and was a homemaker. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Allen Weathers. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Gene Weathers and Michelle Weathers of Panama City; one daughter, Debora Lou Weathers of Chipley; four grandchildren, Heather Weathers, Brandy Hodge and Husband Darrell Hodge, Amber Gray and Alexis Weathers; two great-grandchildren, Austin Teague and Taya Ann Hodge; one sister, Lavada O'Bryan of Panama City and family. She was predeceased by a brother, Edgear Owens. She was a great mother and grandmother who will be loved and missed by everyone who knew her. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. EST at the Bristol Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Margaret Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Mystic Cemetery. Adams Funeral Home, Bristol, is in charge of the arrangements.
