Barbara Ann Liberman, 68, of Panama City, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, in a local hospital. She was a native of West Frankford, Ill. She was a homemaker and loving wife to her husband, Lloyd J. Liberman. Family requests memorialization by cremation.

CAROL MARION MAYO
Mr. Carol Marion Mayo, 61, of Fountain died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at his home. Mr. Mayo was born in Marianna, and had lived in Fountain for the past 14 years. He was the owner of Auto Recovery in Fountain and was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Mayo of Fountain; one son, Phillip Mayo of Fountain. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday from the Fountain Cemetery in Fountain with the Rev. Bill Plazarin officiating. Interment will follow, Adams Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

ELIZABETH ARMSTRONG HARTSFIELD MORRIS
Mrs. Elizabeth Hartsfield Morris, 98, of Sylacauga, Ala., died Friday Dec. 1, 2000, at her residence. Funeral services will be today, Dec. 3, 2000 at Curtis and Son North Chapel in Sylacauga, Ala., at 4:30 p.m. Graveside service will be Monday at 3:30 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Panama City. The Rev. Jeff Armbrester and the Rev. Charles Key will officiate. She is formerly of Birmingham Ala.; New Ellenton, S.C.; and Laguna Beach. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Virgil Lee Hartsfield and Emmett Shelton Morris; one son Clyde Shelton Morris; one daughter, Evelyn Hartsfield Kauffold; and two grandsons Gary Lee Kauffold and James Alan Kauffold. She is survived by one son, Virgil Lee Hartsfield and wife Judy of Sylacauga, Ala.; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Skip Hartsfield; Chris Hartsfield, Rick Hartsfield, Paul Hartsfield, John Hartsfield and Chris Hartsfield Jr. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Baptist Hospice of Shelby County, 569 First St. N, Alabaster, Ala., 35007 or Wesley Chapel Methodist Church, 800 Park St., Sylacauga, Ala., 35150. Curtis and Son Funeral Home North Chapel will direct the service.

BEULAH MAY SLAY
Beulah May Slay, 95, of Chipley went to be with her savior on Nov. 30, 2000. Beulah was the fourth of 8 children of Jacob R. and Mazie Ann Hough, born on July 3, 1905, in Millville. She was Baptist by faith and was a member of the First Baptist church in Chipley. Her Lord, her family and her fishing were the most important things in her life. Her husband, John Brown Slay; and two sons, Roy and John Slay preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Hazel "Sissy," and Alton Davidson of Chipley; a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Stanley Varnum of Chipley; and a son and daughter-in-law, Billy Ray and Shirley Slay of Escondido, Calif.; two daughters-in-law, Inez slay of Chipley and Linda Slay of Escondido, Calif.; two sisters Lucille Mitchell and her husband Marion, and Juanita Hough, both of California; a brother-in-law, Carl Sowell and his wife Virginia of Graceville; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a large number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be today, Dec. 3, 2000 at 3 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Chapel in Chipley, with the Rev. John Dickinson officiating. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Stanley Varnum Jr., Keith Varnum, Billy Williams, Travis Williams and Dennis and Phillip Davidson. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Chipley with Brown Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

WATSON T. STRICKLAND
Mr. Watson T. Strickland, 73, of 1215 E. 24th Plaza, Panama City, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at a local nursing facility. He has been a resident of the area since 1975, coming here from Richmond, Va. Mr. Strickland was a World War II veteran. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved gardening and was a good cook. Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife, Dorothy Strickland of Panama City; three sons, Spencer Strickland and his wife Beth of Macon, Ga., Victor Strickland and his wife Wendy and Randy Blankenship and his wife Denisa, all of Panama City; a daughter, Gayle Bicknell and her husband David of Crestview; a brother, Roy Strickland of Savannah, Ga.; a sister, Edith Wilcox of Daytona Beach; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, 2000 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Pennington officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories. Mr. Strickland's sons and grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Jill Rene Quebedeaux, 42, of Panama City, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2000. She was a native of Port Arthur, Texas, and had been living in Panama City for the past two years. The family has requested memorialization by cremation. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Betty Lorine Sweatt, 63, of 7502 Yellow Bluff Rd., Panama City, passed away Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at a local nursing home. She had been a resident of Bay County for 7 years, coming here from Dothan, Ala. Mrs. Sweatt was a member of Christ Church International in Dothan, Ala. She was a sales clerk at the Wal-Mart Supercenter. Mrs. Sweatt is survived by a son, Mark Sweatt and his wife Cathy of Panama City; grandson, Blake Sweatt; three sisters, Louise Lambert and her husband John of Shalimar; Joyce Reese of Montgomery, Ala.; and Carrie Duke and her husband Billy of Columbia, Ala.; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000 at Kent Thornton Funeral Home Chapel in Dothan AL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northwest Florida Hospice.

Mrs. Virginia Marion Wojtasek, 86, of Panama City, passed away Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, in a local nursing home. Mrs. Wojtasek is survived by three daughters, Jane C. Fowke of Panama City; Sara LaFlamme of Maryville, Tenn.; and Catherine Krimmel of Center City Mantua, N.J.; two sons, Steven Coe of Panama City, and Michael Cowing of New York City, N.Y.; one sister, Carol Sellars of Bokeela; eight grandchildren, James Antrobus, Wendy Stone, Paul Antrobus, Sally Harper, Gini Wafford, Roger LaFlamme, Barbara Wilkins and Wayne Krimmel; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Mr. Buddy Lawrence Blair, age 70, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, in a local hospital. He had been a resident of Bay County since 1964, coming here from Keesler, AFB, Biloxi, Miss. Mr. Blair served his country in the USAF for 21 years, during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam era. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Parker, Fla., the Masonic Lodge F&AM No. 142 of Parker, Fla., and a member of Bay Mustang Car Club. Mr. Blair is survived by his wife, Mildred (Nell) Blair of Panama City, Fla.; one daughter, Becky Conkey of El Paso, Texas; one son, Steven Blair of Decatur, Ga.; two grandchildren, Nancy and Allison; three sisters: Pauline, Dorothy and Janice; two brothers, Richard and Donnie; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, Evelyn Easterwood of Lynn Haven, Fla. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at the Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home in Thomaston, Ga., with the Rev. Michael Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at the Hendricks Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomaston, Ga. Asked to serve as pallbearers are his nephews. Mrs. Alline L. "Grandma" Hizer, age 79, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2000, in a local hospital. She had been a resident of Panama City, Fla. for 11 years, moving here from Indiana . Mrs Hizer was of the Protestant faith and was a life member of ex- POW and of the VFW. Mrs. Hizer is survived by her husband, George Hizer of Panama City, Fla.; stepson, Gerald Wayne Hizer Sr. of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; special niece and nephews: Frances Houze and John Houze of Aurora Ind., Eddie Houze, Jackie Houze and Robert Houze of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews; special friend Anetta Hunt of Panama City, Fla., and Christina and Sondra. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec.5, 2000, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wilfred Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
