Katherine Anne Schneider, 72, of Panama City Beach died Sunday morning, Nov. 26, 2000, at her residence after a period of declining health. She was a native of McKenzie, Tenn., and a former resident of Whittier, N.C. She was a former owner/operator of Indian Summer Gifts in Cherokee, N.C., for 15 years. She was the daughter of the late John and Katherine Anne Whitsitt Sizemore and wife of the late Robert Binney and Robert N. Schneider. She is survived by her sons and their spouses, Bryan and Yelena Binney of Cherokee; Robert and Suzette Binney of Panama City Beach; Steven M. Binney of Atlanta, Ga. She is also survived by a stepdaughter and spouse, Elizabeth and Patrick Eckert of Lenoir, N.C. In addition, she is survived by her grandson, Zachary Binney of Atlanta; granddaughters, Kristy Floyd of Panama City Beach, Erika Binney of Panama City Beach, Alexis Binney of Panama City Beach,Cassandra Binney of Atlanta, and Sophie Binney of Atlanta. Services were held at 2 p.m. Nov. 29, 2000, in the chapel of Moody Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Fulk officiating. Burial followed in the Campground Cemetery in Whittier. The family received friends from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000 at Moody Funeral Home.

HILDA MAE POE
Ms. Hilda Mae Poe, age 81, of 448 Satellite Circle, Fortson, Ga., died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Ga. She had lived in the Panama City area from 1951 until 1990, then moved to Mobile, Ala. Ms. Poe was an artist and was a member of Hiland Park Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Noonan and her husband Patrick "Pat" of Columbus, Ga.; sisters, Jackie Smith and her husband Allen of Panama City; and Louise Kelly and her husband Jack of Lake Worth, Fla.; four grandchildren, Teresa Davidson and her husband Rick of Virginia Beach, Va.; Steven Gay and his wife Yvette of Panama City; William Gay III of Panama City Beach; and Ashley Alison Cerovsky and her husband Roger of Keller, Texas; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 11 at Kent- Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Richard Owens, Andrew Brewer, Allen Smith, William Gay III, Steven Gay, and Eric Davidson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday, Dec. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m.

FREDDIE A. TATE
Mr. Freddie A. Tate, age 51, of Bayou George, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at a local hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Bay County and was a greenskeeper at Naturewalk Golf Club. Mr. Tate was a U. S. Navy veteran of Vietnam. He attended Springfield Community Church and enjoyed fishing, golfing, birdwatching, and gardening. Freddie loved all kinds of music, playing his guitar and was a huge fan of the Beatles and Merle Haggard. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Norma Thompson Tate of Bayou George, Fla.; two sons, Fred A. Tate and his wife Stephanie of Fountain; and Curtis W. Keith and his wife Patricia of Springfield; one daughter, Kathy E. Broadway and her husband Mark of Southport; five brothers, Donald Dean of Panama City; John H. Tate and his wife Sis of South Carolina; Leonard Tate and his wife Pat of Duluth, Ga.; Frank Tate and his wife Connie of Springfield; and Larry Tate and his wife Alice of Callaway; four sisters, Vivian Carroway of Fountain; Mary Lou Steiner and her husband Rudy; and Ramona Finnegan and her husband Joe; all of Panama City, and Janice Lightner and her husband Guy of Youngstown; six grandchildren, Freddie Alexander Tate, Becky Lee Jean Tate, Robert Wesley Tate, James Stephen Anthony Tate, Timothy Wayne Keith, and Emily Ser'e Broadway; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., today, Dec. 9 at Springfield Community Church with the Rev. J. W. Hunt and the Rev. Jack Hankins officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Lee Wages, Danny Landingham, David Smitherman, Darrell Fulghum, Donald Lee Houtz, and Earl Boles. Honorary pallbearers will include: David Locke, Jack Cunningham, Jim Pugh, Edward Strickland, and Randy Sims.

Funeral Services for Mr. A. J. "June" Trawick, age 87, of Panama City, Fla., who passed away Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2000, will be held 11 a.m., today, Dec. 9, 2000 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at Red Hill Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Mark Trawick, Cameron Trawick, Lavon Treadwell, Wilburn Tiller, Chester Church, and Burt Holbert. JAMES D. BARBAY
James D. Barbay, 71, loving husband of Lamar and father of Lesley and Lynn, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, in his home. He was born in Plaquemine, La., and moved to Panama City in the late 1930's. He graduated from Bay High School in 1947, then served in the U.S. Marine Corp, and then attended Florida State University. He was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church. He retired from International Paper Company-Stone Container Corp., in 1989 after 39 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Lamar L. Barbay; daughters, Lesley Fontaine and her husband, Charles T. Fontaine Jr., Lynn Higgins and her husband, Patrick Higgins; grandchildren, Tiffany Fontaine, Charles T. Fontaine III, Colin Higgins, Patricia Higgins and Hugh Higgins, all of Panama City; sister, Marian B. Bevis and her husband Russell of Tallahassee; and several nieces and nephews. His family would not be complete without the addition of the Jernigan family, Richard "Skeet" Jernigan; Marcia J. Tuten and her husband, Alec; James Jernigan and his wife, Laurie; and William Jernigan and his wife, Bobbie. His love for his family and theirs in return has been a rewarding part of his years, especially the last months. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Dominic's Catholic Church with Monsignor William Crowe officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. today. Those desiring may make a contribution to Hospice of the Emerald Coast in memory of James D. Barbay.

DONNELL JEFFERSON ARMSTRONG, Sr.
Mr. Donnell Jefferson Armstrong, Sr., 72, of Panama City, passed away Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at a local hospital. Mr. Armstrong was of the Baptist faith and served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from the International Paper Co. Stone Container Corp., after 45 years of employment. Mr. Armstrong is survived by his wife, Myrtle Armstrong of Panama City; daughter, Linda Armstrong Hood and her husband Jimmy of Panama City; a son, Donnell Jefferson Armstrong, Jr. and his wife Debbie of Panama City; three stepchildren, Sue, Jesse and Gary; a sister, Carolyn Fidler and her husband Dan of Panama City; a half-brother, Arnie Ray Owens and his wife Corrie of Panama City; grandchildren, Jimmy Hood, Ashley Hood, Jill Armstrong and Mamie Armstrong; step-grandchildren: Jacob, Jennifer, Amy, Donnie, Grant and Mandy; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Tenhundfeld; a half-sister, Audrey Parker of Dade City; and a half-brother, Herman Armstrong of Dade City. Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000 at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Taunton officiating. Honorary pallbearers will include employees of the Stone Smurfit Paper Mill. Interment will follow at the Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, 2000.

Mr. Abraham B. Boone, 68, of 3704 East 2nd St., died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, in Bay Medical Center. Martin Luther Bowden, 80, of Brundidge, Ala., died at his home on Friday, Dec. 8, 2000. Mr. Brundidge is survived by his wife, Dorothy E. Bowden of the Tennille Community, Ala.; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Bowden and Michael T. Davis, of Wetumpka, Ala.; grandsons, Jacob Thomas Davis of Troy, Ala., and Samuel Hamilton Davis, of Wetumpka, Ala.; several nieces and nephews and other close relatives. Visitation will be today, Dec. 10, 2000 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Williams Chapel Methodist Church, followed by the funeral service with the Rev. Bobby Weeks and the Rev. David Stewart officiating. Pallbearers will be Danny Barefoot, Terrel Barefoot, Steve Carter, Harold Gibson, Rayvon Graham and Larry Barefoot. Mr. Bowden will be buried in the Williams Chapel Methodist cemetery in Brundidge, Ala. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Methodist Children's Home, P.O. MARY GEORGEADES
Mrs. Mary Georgeades, 78, of 214 Woodlawn Dr., Panama City Beach, died Thursday, Dec.7, 2000, at a local hospital. She has been a resident of the area since 1956. Mrs. Georgeades was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. She is survived by a sister, Minnie Tominello of Greenwood, Miss.; a brother, Frank Tominello of Greenwood, Miss.; nieces, Rose Lee Morton of Beaumont, Texas, Judy Phillips of Oxford, Miss., and Rose Marie Tominello of Jackson, Miss.; and a nephew, John Georgeades of Panama City Beach. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Georgeades. Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2000 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church with the Rev. David O'Shea officiating. Interment will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000 at the Oddfellows Cemetery in Greenwood, Miss.

MADELINE EVERITT PADGETT
Mrs. Madeline Everitt Padgett, 97, passed away on Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at St. Andrews Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Padgett was born on June 5,1903, in Chipley, to William Henderson Everitt and Susan Harper Everitt. She was united in marriage with Joe W. Padgett, Sr. on Dec. 15, 1921, in Kynesville and was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 22, 1974. Mrs. Padgett and her family were residents of Panama City since 1938, moving from Marianna, and Mr. Padgett retired as U.S. Postmaster in Panama City. She is survived by two sons, Joe W. "Bill" Padgett, Jr. and his wife Lavena of Panama City and Robert E. Padgett of Tallahassee; and one daughter, Peggy Ann Strid of Atlanta, Ga. Mrs. Padgett was predeceased by two sisters, Alma E. Baxter of North Carolina and Annie E. Baxter of Panama City; as well as one brother, William "Bill" Henderson Everitt of Panama City. Surviving grandchildren include Wayne Padgett and his wife Jane of Green Cove Spring, Patrick "Pat" Padgett and his wife Julie of Chesnee, S.C., Jo Anna Ragsdale of Panama City, Cindy Walker of Tallahassee, Susan Kunder and her husband George of Greenville, S.C., Greg Strid of Chicago, Ill., Paul Strid and his wife Nancy of Frankfort, Ill., and Dan M. Strid and his wife Mary Louise of Fort Collins, Colo. She has 14 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Padgett held the high position of a dedicated and loving wife and mother and enjoyed every aspect of her role as homemaker for many years. An active member of the First United Methodist Church of Panama City, she participated in the Women's Society of Christian Service and the Progressive Women's Bible Class. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2000 at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Douglas Newton and Brother Si Mathison officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. today, Dec.10, 2000 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

SHEHEE PARKER
Folede Donnell Shehee Parker, 96, of 336 Gray Ave., Panama City, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, in her home. She had been a resident of Panama City since 1941 moving here from Daleville, Ala. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Parker and Mack David Shehee; her son, Joe Mack Shehee; and a granddaughter, Barbara Jo Shehee McCloskey. She was a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Inez Parker Crutchfield and her husband, Albert of Panama City, Paula Parker Sasser and her husband, Byrd of Grove, Texas and Betty Parker Jay and her husband, John of Panama City; devoted daughter-in-law and caregiver, Marion Shehee of Panama City; 10 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Key officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. today. Those desiring may make a contribution to the building fund of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 2608 E. 15th St., Cedar Grove, Fla., 32405. The family will be at the home of Inez Crutchfield, 3337 Ten Acre Road, Hiland Park.

Steven Michael Shank, 33, of Panama City, died on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Lisa G. Shank; sons, Steven R. Aaron M., and John Brandon Shank; parents, John R. and Glennda L. Shank of Englewood, Ohio; sisters and brother's-in-law, Debora and Steve Compton of Englewood, Ohio; Katherine M. and Michael Spirk of Tampa; sisters in law, Deborah L.
