Mr. James W. Brown, 46, of Springfield died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, in a local hospital. Born in Tracy, Minn., he moved to Bay County in 1966 from Balaton, Minn. Mr. Brown was a certified auctioneer and property manager for Davis Rentals. He was a Christian gentleman. His father, Marion C. Brown and mother Laura Ellen Brown precede Mr. Brown in death. He is survived by a special friend, Gail Ruggs of Panama City; brother, Roger A. Brown and wife Karen L. of Callaway; nephew Tim Brown, and niece Melissa Brown, both of Panama City. The family will receive friends Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of choice in memory of Mr. Brown.

ROBERT FEARNS
Mr. Robert Fearns, 65, of 1209 Dover Road, Parker Fla., died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area for 28 years. Mr. Fearns was deputy civilian personnel officer at Tyndall Air Force Base until his retirement in 1992. Prior to this he served as chief civilian personnel officer at Ramey Air Force Base in Borninquen, Puerto Rico. Mr. Fearns was raised in Holyoke, Mass. He is surivied by his wife, Mary Murphy Fearns of Parker; son, Robert P. Fearns of Parker; daughters, Bonnie, and husband, Lt. Col. Steve Wills of Tyndall Air Force Base; and Julianne, and husband Jeffrey Romano of Durham, N.C.; grandchildren, Jason Romano, Christina Romano, Catherine Wills and Cassandra Wills. Robert is also survived by his mother, Anna Fearns of South Hadley, Mass.; sisters, Catherine Rosa, of South Hadley and Carla Collins of Thompson, Conn.; goddaughters, Jacklyn Jamieson of Granby, Mass., Catherine McNamara of Satellite Beach, Fla., and Kellianne Conrad of Natick, Mass.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Catholic funeral mass will be held for Mr. Fearns at St. Dominic's Catholic Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, with Msgr. Norman Metsy officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to the St. Jude Organization of Panama City or to the TransRussian Mission c/o Dr. Cindy Moore, 2326 Frankford Ave. Panama City, FL 32405.

CURTIS J. 'JACK' JOHNSON
Mr. Curtis J. "Jack" Johnson, 57, of Wewahitchka, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, in Wewahitchka. He was a lifelong resident of Wewahitchka and worked as a logger. Survivors include his mother, Louise Johnson of Wewahitchka; one daughter, Pache Pridgeon and husband Bud of Wewahitchka; five grandchildren, Shana, Tyler, Clay and Sumer Pridgeon, and Brandon Mayhann of Wewahitchka; three sisters, Minnie Price, Idella Williams and Wanda Edmon, all of Wewahitchka; two brothers, Lavon Johnson and Lamar Johnson, both of Wewahitchka; many nieces and nephews, and a very special friend, Pat Davey. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. CST on Friday, Dec. 15, 2000, at Fountain Cemetery, conducted by Dallas Presley. Interment will follow. He will lie in state at his home until Friday morning.

DAVID FREEMAN LINVILL
Mr. David Freeman Linvill, 46, of Panama City died Tuesday Dec. 12, 2000, at his home. Born in Hammond, Ind., he moved here six years ago from Pensacola. He was Captain of Security at Corrections Corp. of America and taught law enforcement at Gulf Coast Community College. He was also a Christian. Mr. Linvill is survived by his mother, Georgia K. Freeman of Panama City; stepmother, Betty Holly and husband Tommy of Stockbridge, Ga.; stepfather, Doug Kirk of Panama City; two sons, Jeremy Linvill and wife Nichole of Callaway and Dustin Linvill of Highland, Ind.; two daughters, Season Linvill and special friend Paul Mulhern of Lynn Haven, and Dawn Linvill of Crown Point, Ind.; three sisters, Debbie Benson and Chris Hall, both of Griffith, Ind., and Susan Brookshire of Merrillville, Ind.; two stepbrothers, Harry Kirk of Covington, Ga., and Allan Kirk of Georgetown, Ky.; stepsister, Susan Kendra and husband Marty; grandchild, James Mulhern of Lynn Haven; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at 11 a.m. in the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Max Beauchamp officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Funeral service for Mr. J.C. Williams Sr., 43, of 706 East 16th St., who died Wednesday, Dec. 6, at his home, will be held Thursday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. in the Maranatha Seventh Day Adventist of 1217 East 14th Court with Pastor Donell Morgan Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church, 1123 Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Mr. Mark Dewayne Blair, Sr., age 38, of 509 Church Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at his home. He had been a lifetime resident of the area and was Baptist by faith. Mr. Blair is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Blair of Panama City; a son: Mark Dewayne Blair Jr. of Panama City; six sisters: Tracy Murray and her husband Brian of Killeen, Texas, Patricia Blair Reundele and her husband Ray of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Sarah Hall and her husband Larry of Fountain, Fla., Louise Davis and her husband Joseph of Panama City, Betty Roese and her husband John of Fountain, and Alma Hutchinson of Pensacola; seven brothers: Joseph L. Davis of Panama City, Hugo Blair and his wife Eleanor of Fountain, James Blair and his wife Jackie of Panama City, Allen Blair and his wife Lori of Fountain, Billy Blair and his wife Regina of Panama City, Michael Blair and his wife Wanda of Wewahitchka, and James Laramore and his wife Yolanda of Panama City; a grandson, Mark Dewayne Blair III of Panama City; an aunt, Ruth Fails of Panama City; a sister-in-law, Caroline Blair of Fountain; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon Blair and Ed Blair; mother, Nell Lee Blair Hutchinson; and his father, Rubin Blair. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Tyman officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. ROY DANIEL BOLING
Mr. Roy Daniel Boling, age 69, of 2411 Stanford Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at his home. He had been a lifetime resident of the area and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Boling loved his friends, grandchildren, and was a devoted family man. His grandchildren were his life. He loved listening to the radio and reading. Mr. Boling is survived by his wife, Dorothy Mae Boling of Panama City; a daughter, Angela Boling of Panama City; sons, Doug Boling and Roy Dennis Boling; a step-son, John Derek, all of Panama City; half-brother, Carlton Thorne of Sanford, Fla.; sisters, Glenda King of Lakeland, Fla. and Mary Jo Riles of Phenix City, Ala.; eight grandchildren: and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a son, Roger Dale Boling. Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, Dec. 16, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Key officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will include Earl Hardy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Dec. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mrs. Lucille H. Demont, age 85, of Clarksville, Fla., died early Thursday morning Dec. 14, 2000, at Blountstown Health and Rehab. Mrs. Demont was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. She was a homemaker and a member of Clarksville Baptist Church. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Nick Demont and a daughter Joyce Maddox. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Vernie Demont of Clarksville, Donald and Lou Ann Demont of Blountstown; two daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Sparkman and friend Danny Cox of Clarksville, Teresa and Larry Lee of Clarksville; one son-in-law, Calvin Maddox of Wewahitchka; three brothers: J.W. Hollington of Freeport, Fla., A.W. Hollington of Brewton, Ala., Sidney Hollington of Fort Walton Beach; five sisters: Louise Marshall of Dothan, Myrtle Flores of Pensacola, Ruth Hostilo of Crestview, Josie Faircloth of Fort Walton, Vera Talbot of Ft. Walton; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m. CST from the Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marvin Nichols officiating. LONIE W. DICKENS
Mrs. Lonie W. Dickens, a resident of Panama City for 21 years, passed away Nov. 29, 2000, and was interred in Montgomery on Dec. 2. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.D. Dickens Sr. and one grandson, Rob. She is survived by four sons: William D. Jr. of Panama City, James F. of Los Angeles, Charles W. of Sammamish, Wash., and Robert L. of Fort Walton Beach. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Thelma Hartz of Clearwater. Mrs. Dickens would have been 102 years old in January. Funeral services were conducted by Wilson Funeral Home.

BETTY JEAN BEVIS JONES
Betty Jean Bevis Jones, age 77, of Mexico Beach, Fla., died Tuesday in Port St. Jone. Funeral service will be held today, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m. at graveside, in Sycamore Cemetery, in Greensboro, Fla. Family will receive friends following the service. A native of Baldwin, Fla., she had lived in Mexico Beach and Tallahassee since 1977. She was a homemaker and a geneologist and was of the Methodist faith. She was a childhood resident of Quincy. Survivors include her husband James R. "Bob" Jones Sr. of Mexico Beach; two sons, James R. "Jim" Jones Jr. of Tallahassee and Laurence M. "Larry" Jones of Austin, Texas; brother, A.M. "Buddy" Bevis of Tallahassee; sister, Shirley B. Wynn of Tallahassee; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

DOROTHY HELEN MOORE
Mrs. Dorothy Helen Moore, of Panama City, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, in a local nursing home. Born in Silver Creek, N.Y., she moved to Bay County in 1956 from Rochester, N.Y. Mrs. Moore was a retired teacher from Panama City Christian Day Care Center and a charter member of Central Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Miracle Chapter No. 306. Mrs. Moore is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Gordon E. Moore. She is survived by two sons, Robert Scott Moore and wife, Betty of Panama City Beach, George Dale Moore and wife, Robin of Panama City; one daughter, Nancy Dee Nichols of Panama City; one sister, Janette Merritt of Panama City; two grandchildren; Robert Fred Moore and wife, Patricia of Gainesville, Fla., Pamela Martineau of Virginia Beach, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Mrs. Moore will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. John Barton officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The Eastern Star Chapter No. 306 will conduct the Eastern Star service at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriner's Transportation Fund or the Panama City Christian School in memory of Mrs. Moore.
