ROBERT E. DILLON
Mr. Robert E. Dillon, 69, of 1916 Arthur Ave., Panama City, Fla., passed away Dec. 25, 2000, at his home after a lengthy illness. Mr. Dillon was a native of Wichita, Kan., and lived in Panama City since 1950. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was self-employed as an air conditioning/heating contractor. He worked for Vitro in Cape San Blas and then was an instructor at Haney Vo-Tech until his retirement from the Bay County School Board. Mr. Dillon was preceded in death by his parents, Jewell and Artie Dillon; three sisters, Patsy Kegley, Betty Edwards and Billie Jo Lang. Mr. Dillon is survived by his wife of seven years, Karen Dillon of Panama City; a son, Robert Eugene Dillon Jr. of Albion, R.I., five daughters, Linda Dillon of Jacksonville, Rosanna Carbo and husband Robert of LaPlace, La., Kathryn Pajak and husband Robert of Panama City, Barbara Carwile and husband Ted of Crofton, Md., and Rebecca Rosser and husband Tim of Panama City; two stepsons, Matt and Mark Whittaker, both of Panama City; 10 grandchildren, Chad Dillon, Shanna and Daniel Carbo, Craig and Courtney Jones and Jennifer Rosser; two sisters, Margie Logan of Marianna, and Judy Miers of Las Vegas, Nev. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Father Andrew Lewandowski officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Gene Dillon, Chad Dillon, Robert Carbo, Daniel Carbo, Robert Pajak and Craig Pajak. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 27, 2000.

BETTY LOU LOWE
Betty Lou Lowe, daughter of longtime Panama City resident Pat Lowe, passed away Dec. 23, 2000, in New Orleans. She is the former wife of Air Force Colonel Henry G. MacDonald (deceased). She is survived by two sons, Gordon E. and Richard A. MacDonald.

Mrs. Dorothy E. Morrison, age 68, of 8347 James St., Panama City, passed away Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, in a local hospital. Mrs. Morrison had been a resident of Bay County since 1972, coming from overseas with her husband who was in the Air Force. She was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church, was a faithful bridge player at the officers club of Tyndall Air Force Base. Mrs. Morrison is survived by two daughters, Debbie Martel and her husband John of Niceville, Fla., and Lisa Morrison of Springfield; a son, Russell Morrison and his wife Teresa of Bear Creek, Fla., eight grandchildren, Michelle Hongyee, Kristi Couture, Dominique Martel, Charles Martel, Jacqueline Martel, Brian Morrison, April Parrish and Mary Leigh Morrison; two great-grandchiIdren, Brian Tyler Morrison and Jacob Ryan Hongyee; three brothers, Bill Bowers of Virginia., Bob Bowers of Albany, Ga., and Cecil Bowers of Moultrie, Ga. Mrs. Morrison was preceded in death by her husband, William Guy Morrison; and a son, William Guy Morrison. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Father Peter Zalewski officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society.

ANNIS R. NORDAN
Annis R. Nordan, 92, of Marianna, died Monday, Dec. 25, at Jackson Hospital. Born in Bascom, she was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. She was a primary school teacher in Jackson County for 15 years, teaching at Union, Concord, Kynesville, Magnolia and Bascom schools. Having developed an interest in growing and arranging flowers, she and her husband Ralph opened Friendly Flower Shop in Marianna in 1948. Annis continued to work in the floral business until 1978 when she and her husband decided to enjoy a few years of retirement. In 1985, their daughter Faye established Faye's Flowers Shop, where Annis continued to assist working with flowers, what she referred to as "God's creations." In the last years of her life, she has enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and spending time with her great-grandson Hampton. She was involved in numerous civic organizations throughout her life, was a member of First Baptist Church of Malone. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter M. and Susan Bevis Rogers. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Ralph W. Nordan of Marianna; one daughter, Faye N. Stoutamire of Marianna; two grandchildren and their spouses, Kathryn and Scott Jordan of Marianna and Kenneth and Allison Stoutamire of Malone; one great-grandson, Hampton Jordan of Marianna; and one sister, Mildred Williams of Tallahassee. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at First Babptist Church in Malone with the Revs. Andy Wolverton, Donnie Wilson and Ronnie Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memory Gardens with James and James Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel of Marianna directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

CARL LEE RICHMOND
Msgt. Ret. Carl Lee Richmond, age 77, of 4940 Lake Drive, Parker, Fla., passed away Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, in a local nursing home. Mr. Richmond had been a resident of Bay County since 1957, coming here from Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was Church of Christ by faith, served 24 years in the U.S. Air Force and loved to fish. Mr. Richmond is survived by his wife of 50 years, Angela Richmond of Parker; one daughter, Clara White and her husband Wayne of Panama City; one granddaughter, Kristy Hauser of Panama City; one great-granddaughter, Ashley Hauser of Panama City; and one grandson-in-law, Jerry Hauser of Panama City. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at Garden of Memories Cemetery with Chaplian Daniel H. Nigolian officiating, with full military honors conducted by Tyndall Air Force Base Honor Guard. Asked to serve as honorary pallbeares are the Parker Police Department and Joe Boedecker. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 27.

DONALD PERCY SIMMONS SR.
Mr. Donald Percy Simmons Sr., of 2923 Kirkwell Ave., Panama City, died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, in North Carolina. Born in Point Washington, Fla., he was a lifelong resident of Bay and Washington counties. Mr. Simmons was an owner and operator of McCall's Sod Farm and the founder of Simmons Realty. He was a member of Hiland Park United Methodist Church. Mr. Simmons was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy. He is preceded in death by his son, John Russell "Rusty" Simmons. Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife, Dorothy F. Simmons of Panama City; two sons, Donald Percy Simmons Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif., and Will Simmons and wife, Cynthia of Panama City; one daughter, Marcia Weidenhaft and husband John of Lynn Haven; one sister, Dorothy Ward of Bruce, Fla.; and eight grandchildren, Jeffrey Weidenhaft, Nicole Simmons, Amanda Weidenhaft, Christy Simmons, John Russell "Rusty" Simmons, Donald P. "Trey" Simmons, Will Simmons Jr., and Michael Simmons. Funeral services for Mr. Simmons will be conducted Friday, Dec. 28, at 10 a.m. in Southerland Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Lynn Haven Cemetery. The family will received friends Thursday evening, Dec. 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. HENRY CARL WILLIAMS
Mr. Henry Carl Williams, 75, of Panama City, passed away Sunday, Dec. 24, 2000, at his home. "A Friend to All Men," Mr. Williams was a native of Graceville and had lived in Panama City since 1943. He served his country in the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a radar repairman. Mr. Williams then went to work at the Naval Coastal Systems Station in 1950 and worked until his retirement in 1980. He was then employed with Navy Contractors until 1989, and returned to civil service until 1995. Mr. Williams was of the Protestant faith and was an active square dancer since 1957 where he was affectionately known as Mr. Square Dance. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Patricia M. Williams of Panama City; two daughters, Debra W. Babcock and husband, Donald of Charlotte, N.C., and Peggy W. Bunch and husband, Aubrey of Panama City; his son Keith Williams and wife, Dawn of Marianna; a brother, Cecil Williams of Panama City; two sisters, Jewell Brock and Polly Jakubowski, both of Tallahassee; a sister-in-law, Norma Williams of Panama City; grandchildren: Jerald Pepper, Amy Lee, Nathan Babcock, Andrew Babcock, Andrew Henry Williams, Aaron Williams and Adam Williams. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Martie Williams; his brothers, George C. "Kenny" Williams and Frank "Snooks" Williams; and a sister, Ruby Hogeboom. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 26, 2000. LYNELL F. BATTLE
Mr. Lynell F. Battle, 38, of 812 East 7th Court, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, in Bay Medical Center. Lynell Battle was born on Sept. 30, 1962, in Boston, Mass. to Clyde Ann Battle and Wallace Buggs. He was born at St. Margarets Hospital in Boston, Mass. He attended high school at Hyde Park High School in Hyde Park, Mass. Lynell was a talented artist. He was a good heart person. He also was a hair stylist. He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Clyde Ann Battle and Wallace Buggs; two sisters, Michelle Battle-Darby, Beverly Battle; one brother, Stan Nelson. He also leaves several nieces and nephews, Tyerone Sharde, Freddie, Fredrick and Anthony. Memorial services for Mr. Battle will be held today, Dec. 28, at 1 p.m. in Battle Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Lonnie Mitchell, officiating. The family will receive friends at 812 E. 7th Court.
