Memorial services for Mr. Richard Wyatt, 76, of 842 Mulberry Ave., Panama City, Fla., who passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at his home, will be held 11 a.m. today, Jan. 1, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.W. Hunt officiating. The family will be at the home of Dorothy Renfroe, 11310 Waller Road, Youngstown, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations may be mailed to P.O. DAVID JAMES MERGENTHAL
David James Mergenthal, 35, of Albany, Ga., died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Panama City Beach, Fla., while visiting friends and relatives for the holidays. David Mergenthal was born Dec. 7, 1965, in Panama City where he also attended elementary school. The family moved to Albany, Ga., in 1977, where he attended high school. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for independent contractors. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul W. Mergenthal Jr., in 1974, and his mother Sylvia Mergenthal Tidwell, in April 2000. He is survived by two brothers, Paul W. Mergenthal III and Michael S. Mergenthal, both of Panama City Beach; a stepbrother, Michael Tidwell of Phenix City, Ala.; two nieces, Christina Mergenthal of Miami, Fla. and Georgia Mergenthal of Panama City Beach; two uncles, Stafford Mergenthal of Panama City; and Frank Irwin of Tampa, Fla.; two aunts, Geneva Griffen of Albany, Ga., and Mamie Sue Douglas of Lake Wales, Fla.; and numerous cousins. Funeral services will be held Jan. 3, 2001, at 11 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens on U.S. Hwy. 231.

JEWELLDINE BALL
Mrs. Jewelldine Ball, 62, of 10128 Hwy 2301, Youngstown, Fla., passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at her home. Mrs. Ball had been a life-long resident of Bay County, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bayou George. Mrs. Ball is survived by a daughter, Tammy Arnett and husband Mark of Dalton, Ga.; two sons, Dale Ball and wife Annmarie, and Terry Ball, all of Bayou George, Fla.; three grandchildren, Kacey Arnett of Dalton, Ga., Chelsea Ball of Southport, Fla., and David Earl Anderson of Dalton, Ga.; four brothers, Allen Hand and wife Bunny of Panama City Beach, Fla.; Pat Hand of Gainesboro, Tenn.; Larry Hand & wife Connie of Panama City, Fla.; and Ray Hand & wife Lynn of Foundain, Fla. Mrs. Ball was preceded in death by her husband Hank Ball, a brother, Forrest Hand, and her parents, A.W. Hand and Jewell Hand. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Fred Lowery officiating. Interment will follow at the Bayou George Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Allen Hand, Larry Hand, Ray Hand, Michael Mosley, Kevin Parson, Chuck Nowell. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, Jan. 1, 2001, from 6 to 8p.m.

NANCY ANN "MEMA" PHILLIPS
Mrs. Nancy Ann "Mema" Phillips, 57, of 920 E. Park St., Parker, Fla., passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at a local hospital. She has been a resident of Bay County since 1963, coming here from Quincy, Fla. Mrs. Phillips was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed helping others, and lived for her children and grandchildren. Before Mrs. Phillips' illness, she was employed at Bay Convelescent Center, Wagner's Nursing Home and did private duty nursing. Mrs. Phillips is survived by two daughters, Juainta Lucas and fiancee' Raymond L. Mazzara of Lynn Haven, Fla., and Tina Hall & husband Donald of Parker, Fla.; three grandchildren, B.J. Cutter, Precious Cutter, & Daniel Hall all of Parker, Fla.; her mother, Dorothy Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla. Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her father, Lonnie Carr, and her husband, Preston Herbert Phillips. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Key officiating. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, Jan. 1, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m.

RAYMOND E. YOUNG
Raymond E. Young, 77, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at his home in Laguna Beach following a long illness. He was born in Birmingham, Ala., and married Lucy Gibson on April 10, 1942. He retired as a lieutenant colonel from the U.S. Army in 1966. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He went on to become national director of the U.S. Job Corps before retiring. He was an active volunteer for local Veterans War Home in Milledgeville, Ga., in the 1990s. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Lucy G. Young of Laguna Beach; two daughters, Nancy Morris of Americus, Ga., and Donna Austin of Birmingham, Ala.; four sons, Raymond E. Young Jr. of Panama City, Rand Young of Columbus, Ohio, Michael D. Young of Fayetteville, Ga., and Doug Young of Tyrone, Ga.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bruce Raley officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1. Those desiring to may make a donation in his memory to the Salvation Army.

MARIE J. CANNEY
Marie J. Canney, 91, passed away Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at a local hospital. She was born in Kankakee, Ill. She was one of 14 children and enjoyed church, needlework, family and friends. Survivors include her sister, Jeannette Tousignant, Port St. Joe, and many nieces and nephews, Florence Walker of Panama City; Jean Tousignant and Margaret Ray, both of Port St. Joe; Loretta Allen, Erica Martin, and Daniel Allen, all of Panama City; Tari Lynn Tousignant, Dwight, Ill.; Randy Walker and family, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at Holly Hill Cemetery, Port St. Joe. Florence Walker will be officiating.

MARY ELLEN FELLERMAN
Mary Ellen Fellerman, 88, of 21703 Front Beach Road, Panama City Beach, died Monday, Jan. 01, 2001, in her home. She had been a resident of Panama City Beach for the past 17 years, moving here from Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a member of the Christian Church of Panama City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Henry Fellerman. She is survived by her son, Gene Fellerman and his wife, Linda, of Panama City Beach; two granddaughters, Christina Key, Kimberly Northrup; three great-grandchildren, Kendall Jean Preavey, Mary Rae Preavey and Joshua David Nixon. Private family graveside services will be held Wednesday in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Those desiring to may make a contribution to Hospice of Northwest Florida in memory of Mary Ellen Fellerman.

LESSIE PITTS MORRIS
Lessie Pitts Morris, 94, of Kynesville died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000. She was a lifelong resident of the Kynesville community, was a LPN at Jackson Hospital for many years, and retired as a nurse for Dr. Wandeck. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church since 1922. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover Cleveland Morris; stepson, Raymond Morris; stepdaughter, Doris Donnell; and grandson Willard Morris. She is survived by two daughters, Louise Howe, Schererville, Ind., and Leola Porter, Chipley, Fla.; stepdaughter, Beamon Purvis, Cottondale, Fla.; two sons, Edward Morris and Amos Morris; and stepson Howard Morris, all of Kynesville; 27 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great-grandchildren and a very dear friend, Mrs. Shirley Robling. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. CST, Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Collins and the Rev. Harry Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery with James and James Funeral Home, Maddox Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. JACQUELYN DELOISE STEPHENS MURRY
Ms. Jacquelyn Deloise Stephens Murray, 48, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000. Ms. Jacquelyn Deloise Stephens-Murray was born Oct. 20, 1952, in Panama City, Fla., to Grace and the Rev. John Jones. She was later adopted into the family of Mrs. Willie Mae Stephens and became a member of Antioch Temple Church of God In Christ. Ms. Stephens-Murray attended Rosenwald Junior High School and later attended Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, Fla., to pursue a degree in radio broadcasting. She was noted as the first female radio disc jockey in Panama City and later traveled all over the country as a disc jockey, dancer and professional background singer for many well-known celebrities. She also became a certified nursing assistant and worked at numerous nursing and convalescent homes throughout the State of Florida. Ms. Stephens-Murray was preceded in death by her adopted mother, Mrs. Willie Mae Stephens; and brother, Melvin Jones. She is survived by one son, Anthony Kenneth (Kenny) Stephens of Tallahassee, Fla.; one granddaughter, Ossana Diamond Nichelle Stephens of Tallahassee, Fla.; one brother, Johnnel Jones, Panama City, Fla.; four sisters, Dora Jones Hall, Chicago, Ill.; Sandra McQueen, Pensacola, Fla.; Marvelle Heyward (Claude), Panama City, Fla.; and Rhonda Jones-Irvington, New Jersey. Ms. Stephens-Murray was also survived by four nephews, Corey Jones, Virginia Beach, Va.; Corenth Hall, Chicago, Ill.; Rhakeem Jones, Pensacola, Fla.; Brandon Heyward, Panama City, Fla.; one niece, Kharla Cogdell, Tallahassee, Fla., and a host of many other relatives. Funeral services for Ms. Murray will be held today, Jan. 2, at 11 a.m. in the Battle Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Lonnie Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.
