Roy Allen Waters, 29, passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, in Roswell, N.M. He had spent most of his life in New Mexico, and worked as a carpenter. He loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting. Roy was outgoing and never met a stranger. Survivors include his mother, Peggy Waters of Overstreet, Fla.; his father, Roy Waters of Dade City, Fla.; his brothers and sisters, Anthony Beatty of Miami Beach, Fla., Patty Cloud of St. Joe Beach, Fla., Donnie Water of Wewahitchka, Fla., Linda Waters of Highland View, Fla., and Melissa Waters of Wewahitchka; his grandmother, Maggie Waters of Jones Homestead, Fla.; his nieces and nephews, several in particular, April Cloud, Ashley Cloud, Autumn Cloud, Jeremiah Rayden and Starlin Miller; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his lifelong girlfriend, Scarlett Miller of New Mexico. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 3 p.m. ET (2 p.m. CT) at Holly Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. David Fernandez officiating. Interment will follow. He will lie in state at Comforter Funeral Home Monday, Jan. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. ET

BOBBY LEE KUYKENDALL
Bobby Lee Kuykendall, 67, of 906 Bradford Circle, Lynn Haven, Fla., passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1973, moving here from Germany. Mr. Kuykendall retired as a master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force in 1980, after having served his country for 281/2 years. He also retired from civil service with the fire protection division. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church, Shaddai Temple, Scottish Rites, Masonic Lodge No. 450 A.F. & A.M Belton, Mo., Eastern Star No. 142 Kansas City, Mo., and was on the executive committee of the Democratic Party of Bay County. He was "born a Democrat - always a Democrat." Mr. Kuykendall initiated funding for the Fire Prevention Program and for vans used in transporting children to the burn center for the Shaddai Temple. He was a Vietnam veteran and received the Bronze Star medal with "V" device. Mr. Kuykendall is survived by his wife of 43 years: Betty S. Kuykendall of Lynn Haven, Fla.; two daughters: Bobbie Sue Krenke and her husband Greg of Lynn Haven, Fla., Becky Lee Johns and her husband Troy of Southport, Fla.; one brother, Johnnie Kuykendall of Candler, N.C.; one sister, OraMae Rathbone of Canton, N.C.; Grandchildren: Scott Krenke of Tallahassee, Fla., Holly Ciccarrelli and her husband Michael of Marrietta, Ga., Christopher Sammons of Southport, Fla., and Kendall Faith Johns of Southport, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Margaraet Koutris and her husband Gus of Candler, N.C.; four brother-in-laws: George Ledford and his wife Peggy of Candler, N.C., Bud Ledford and his wife June of Canton, N.C., James Ledford and his wife Brenda of Canton, N.C., and Johnny Ledford and his wife Dot of Charlotte, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his parents and nine siblings. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Parker and the Rev. John Barton officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery with full military honors. Members of the Tyndall Air Force Base Honor Guard will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include all Firemen of Tyndall AFB and Bay County and members of the Shaddai Temple. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, Jan. 15, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Kidney Foundation. The family would like to thank Dr. Josten and his staff for their excellent care.

Funeral services for Betty Miller Bailey of 260 Eagle Drive in Panama City Beach, who died Friday Jan. 12, 2001, in a local hospital, will be held today at 7 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dewey Davidson and the Rev. Jerome Barnes officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday. Interment will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery, Montgomery, Ala. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Chapel Sunday School Class at St. Andrew Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Deloris Beall, 79, of 3006 W. 21st Court in Panama City, who passed away Saturday Jan. 13, 2001, at her home, will be held at noon today Jan. 15, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Michael Murphy officiating. Internment will follow at the Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. JAMES DON COLLINS SR.
"Big" Jim Don Collins Sr., age 60, of 7006 Messer Road, Panama City, Fla., passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, after a short bout of lung cancer. First Class Petty Officer Collins was retired from the U.S. Navy after having served his country for 24 years. He also served in the U.S. Army for four years. He was stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba twice before coming to Panama City. During his service he became officer of the month and officer of the day numerous times, he served his country so well. Petty Officer Collins is survived by his loving and faithful (the love of his life) wife of 21 years, Ligaya "Lee" A. Collins (nee Miss Ligaya A. delos Santos of Naic, Cavite, Philippines) of Panama City; two sons, Jimmy Jr. of West Virginia and Aaron Alexander of Fort Worth, Texas; one big brother, Elton Sledge and his wife Henny Penny of Orlando, Fla.; two nephews, Elton Jr. and Larry Sledge of Orlando; one sister-in-law, Mayeth Llevado and husband Johnny of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; three sisters-in-law, all in the Philippines, Amelia and her husband Basy Arviola, Gertrude and husband Nick, Rebecca and husband Renato del Mundo; two nieces whom he sent to college, Dr. Romelia Poblete and Engr. Gloria Rodgriguez. He was preceded in death by his parents, U.S. Army Capt. Austin Collins and Rosalie Stephenson Collins. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. today, Jan. 16, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Ricardo Hernandez officiating. LENA VICKERY DANIELS
Lena Vickery Daniels, 90, of Marianna died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, in Marianna. She was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County. She was a dedicated Christian and member of Pilgrims Rest Assembly of God Church for many years where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivey S. (Bee) Daniels. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Nolan and Wandis Daniels of Marianna, Norris and Shirley Daniels of Port St. Joe, Vergil and Deanie Daniels of Blountstown, Terry and Elaine Daniels of Marianna; one daughter and son-in-law, Wandis and John F. Scott of Marianna; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 2 p.m. CST at Pilgrims Rest Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Ellis Vickery and Russell Pettis officiating. Burial will follow in Vickery Cemetery with James and James Funeral Home Maddox Chapel of Marianna directing. Pallbearers will be the grandsons, John C. Scott, William Scott, Ricky Hagans, Lemond Daniels, Larry Daniels, Greg Daniels and Dewayne Daniels. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 16, at the funeral home.

CLARICE B. GRAHAM
Mrs. Clarice B. Graham, age 72, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at a local hospital. She was a native of Dawson, Ga., and had lived in Panama City for 57 years, moving here from Dawson. Mrs. Graham was a retired financial officer with Commercial Credit Corp. She was an avid bowler, gardener and a devoted mother and a true friend who never met a stranger. She was a regular at the Bowl-a-Rama where she was a WIBC member. Mrs. Graham was Baptist by faith. She is survived by one son, Lloyd D. Graham and his wife, Patricia Ray of Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter, Karen D. Vaught and partner, Holly Boyd of Oxford, Ohio; a grandson, Michael L. Vaught of Oxford, Ohio; sister-in-law, Hazel Barnes and her husband, Wayne of Panama City; several nieces and nephews; and her loving cat, Krystal. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Key officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, Jan. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to a favorite charity in her name.

WALTER G. HERIN SR.
Walter G. Herin Sr., of 2944 King Alfred Drive, Macon, Ga., died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Macon Memorial Park in Macon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association. Mr. Herin had been the owner and operator of Macon Transfer since 1937. Mr. Herin was a member of the Moose Lodge where he achieved their highest rank as pilgrim. Mr. Herin had also been a Mason for 50 years. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Herin of Macon; son, Richard P. Herin (Bonnie) of Macon; son, Walter G. Herin Jr. (Terry) of Macon; daughter, Karen Herin Stroud (Jack) of Douglasville, Ga.; daughter, Carol Herin Tang (George) of Panama City; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

GRACE HOFFMAN
Mrs. Grace Hoffman, age 84, of 324 Everitt Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at her home. She was Protestant by faith and a member of Florida State Fireman's Auxiliary. Mrs. Hoffman is survived by her daughters, Mary Clayton and her husband Randy of Jacksonville, Fla., and De Ann Hood of Panama City; sisters, Mary Heintzelman, Dot Beckworth and Suzanne Bradley; and grandchildren, J.R. Hood, Glen Hood and Adam Cubbedge. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 18, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Melvin officiating. Alfred O. Shuler Jr., 42, of Apalachicola, died unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at his home in Apalachicola. A native and lifelong resident of Apalachicola, "Al" was a director and researcher for Dodd Title in Apalachicola. He was also a former shrimp boat owner and captain and was a member of The First Baptist Church in Apalachicola. Visitation will be held today, Jan. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. EST, at Kelley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. EST in The First Baptist Church in Apalachicola. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery in Apalachicola.

WILLIAM B. "Bill" TAYLOR
Mr. William B. "Bill" Taylor, age 46, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001, at his residence. A native of Kinston, N.C., he had lived here for nine years, coming from Germany. Mr. Taylor was retired as a chief master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force after 26 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Glenda Taylor of Panama City; a son, Brad Taylor of Panama City; two daughters, Gail Taylor and Krystal Taylor, both of Panama City; parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Taylor of Pink Hill, N.C.; three brothers, Willie Taylor of Beulaville, N.C., Ronnie Taylor of Sharpsburg, N.C., and Christopher Taylor of Pink Hill, N.C.; four sisters, Catherine Hardy of Pink Hill, N.C., Eunice Houston, Darlene Kennedy and Sonia Jones, all of Beulaville, N.C.; and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 18, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories with full military honors conducted by Tyndall AFB. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Wednesday, Jan. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m.
