Mr. Albert Ray Lee, age 72, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at his residence. He was a native of Milton, Fla., and had lived in Panama City for 35 years. Mr. Lee was retired after 20 years service in the U.S. Air Force and then worked as an audio-visual specialist for the Bay County School Board, retiring after ten years. He then was a realtor for eleven years. Mr. Lee was a member and deacon of Springfield Baptist Church and was treasurer of Gideon East Camp. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Helen Lee of Panama City; a son, Dwayne Ray Lee and his wife Carol of Mobile, Ala.; a daughter, Karen Lee Chval and her husband Richard of Panama City; a sister, Ruth Pickering of Kokomo, Ind.; seven grandchildren: Erin Lee Queen and her husband John, Ryan Chval and his wife Somer, Jamie Lee Baxley and her husband Steve, Bethany Chval, Cristen Lee, Andrea Lee, and Breanna Chval; two great-grandchildren, Sydney Queen and Samuel Chval; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, at Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Everage officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: John Gipson, Johnathan Gipson, Steve Baxley, Mike Peaden, Mike Golden, and Brady Calhoun. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, Jan. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m.

ALBERTO MICHELE PALLOTTA
Dr. Alberto Michele Pallotta, age 68, of 70 Sea Breeze Ct., Sea Grove Beach, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 16at a local hospital. A native of New York, he has been a resident of the area for ten years, coming here from Palm Beach, Fla. Dr. Pallotta was a dentist from 1959 until 1989. He was also an entrepreneur who owned restaurants and was a partner in Angelinas in Sea Grove Beach and Panama City. The restaurant Angelinas was named for his mother. Dr. Pallotta is survived by his. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM, Fri., January 19, 2001 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church with Fr. David O'Shea officiating. Funeral Services for Mrs. Vera Mae Russell, age 80, of 1540 Nassau St., Southport, Fla., who died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 19, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Luke Miller and Derick Billinger officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

MALCOLM WHITFIELD SANDS
Malcolm Whitfield "Mac" Sands, age 70, owner of Mac Sands Bonding Co., died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Lee Sands, Charlotte, Tenn; son, James Murphy Sands, Panama City Beach; daughters, Lynn Sands Anderson, Charlotte, Tenn., Jennifer Sands McKnight, Murfreesboro, Tenn, Rachel Anne Jordan, Murfreesboro; stepdaughter, Nickie Sabrina Daniel, Louisiana; sisters, Hubbel Blaker, Parkton, Md., Sue McWilliams, Baltimore, Md.; seven grandchildren. His remains are in the care of Taylor Funeral Home where visitation will be held today, Jan. 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 20 at 11 a.m. with chaplain Joe Collins officiating and Johnny Shelton delivering the eulogy. Friends will serve as pallbeareres and honorary pallbearers will the the Dickson County Sheriff's Department and the Dickson Police Department. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sarah Cannon Cancer Center or your favority charity. Interment in Dickson County Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Robert (Bobby) Emanuel Welch, 60, of Panama City, died Monday in his residence. Bobby had been a lifelong resident of Panama City being raised in St. Andrews. He attended Bay County High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Welch was predeceased by his parents, Thomas L. and Dora Baggett Welch. Mr. Welch is survived by numerous local relatives. There will be no formal services for Mr. Welch.

Mrs. Karen Sue "Kaylynn" Whetstine, age 43, of 2542 N. Cedar Lane, Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001 at her home. She has been a lifetime resident of the area and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mrs. Whetstine is survived by her husband: Terry Whetstine of Panama City, FL; brothers: Stanley Kelley and his wife Reba and Travis Kelley and his wife Marty, all of Springfield, FL; sisters: Mary Elizabeth of Parker, FL; Joann Grantham and her husband Jerry of Youngstown, FL, Myrtle Creamer and her husband Ronnie of Southport, FL, Teresa Kelley of Cedar Grove, FL, Judy Griffin and her husband David of Acworth, GA, and Ann Halley of Cedar Grove, FL; two daughters: Kelley Theresa Tappia and Melissa Marie Millirons, both of Panama City, FL; a son: Donald Eugene Williams of Fountain, FL; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father: Noah and Cleatha Kelley and a sister: Regina Maria Dykes. FELISHA T. WHITLEY
Felisha T. 'Spoony' Whitley, 28 of Port St. Joe, passed away on Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Panama City, Fla. She was born in Stroudsburg, Penn., on Feb. 2, 1972, to Mrs. Jean W. Thompson. She attended Port St. Joe High School and Gulf Coast Community College, where she received a CNA certificate from the Certificated Nursing Assistant. Program at the Gulf/Franklin campus in Port St. Joe. She is survived by three children: Jacquez, Shalonda, and Asia Whitley; a husband, Rico Yarrell; her mother, Jean Thompson of Port St .Joe. She was adopted by two loving grandparents, John W. Whitley, and the late Oneida Whitley of Port St. Joe; a stepfather Bennon (Deborih) Thompson Sr., of Atlanta Ga.; step-grandfather, Cullen (Lillian) Thompson Sr.; two brothers, Tori Thompson of Tampa, and Kerry Thompson of Port St. Joe; one brother preceded her in death, Bennon C. Thompson Jr.; two nephews, Ryan and Trey; four aunts: Lynn (Raymond) Driesback Jr., of Port St. Joe, Sabrina Kee and Pamela Alexander of Port St. Joe, Vanessa Whitley of Tallahassee; two uncles, Willie Woods of St. Louis, Mo., and Richard Davis of El Paso, Texas; great-great-aunt, Floyzell Shackleford of Port St. Joe; three step-aunts; four step-uncles; special cousins: Erika, Erinn, Tsa, Natasha, Sandy, Victor and Freddie; mother-in-law Lottie Yarrell; father-in-law Leroy Yarrell (Katrina); sister-in-law Emma Yarrell; brother-in-law Leroy Yarrell Jr. of Port St. Joe; and a host of loving and sorrowing friends. LOU ELLA WRIGHT
Lou Ella Wright, 91, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, in Atlanta, Ga. Mrs. Wright was born in Red Bay, Fla., on April 3, 1909, to Isaac and Mary Ponds. She was one of fourteen children. As a young woman, Lou Ella sought to better her life and in that effort moved to Kansas City, Mo., where she lived for many years. Life's circumstances provided her the opportunity to live in Columbia and Moberly, Mo. Mother Wright committed her life to Christ at an early age and spent her life telling the good news of God's love. She was an evangelist, a teacher and a demonstrator of the Christian Walk with God. Mother Wright returned to Florida to live in Panama City with her sister (the late Mary Curry) in the 1980s. She became a member of Holy Temple COGIC where she provided tangible evidence of her faith and her walk with God. She remained in Panama City until the death of her sister whereupon she moved to Powder Springs, Ga., into the care of her niece. Mother Wright was preceded in death by her husband Eddie, her daughter Arcerlene, great-grandson Andre and many brothers and sisters. She leaves to mourn her passing granddaughter Lenora Morris and husband John; one brother, James Ponds; three nieces: Helen Barnhill and husband Joseph, Glendol Browder, Loretta Koft and husband Bernard; four nephews: Eddie R. Curry and wife Virgil, James A. Ponds and wife Betty, Willie D. Ponds Jr. and wife Shirley, Marcus Paul and wife Rieta; and numerous great-nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Wright will be held Saturday, Jan. 20, at noon in the Holy Temple Church of God in Christ with Elder W.C. Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. Public visitation will be this afternoon at the funeral home from 1 to 8 p.m. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.

COLEMAN HOOTEN BIRMINGHAM
Coleman Hooten Birmingham, 78, of 520 Blake Drive, Wewahitchka, Fla., died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001, in a Panama City hospital. He retired from St. Joe Paper Company in 1982 after 36 years of service. After retirement, he then sold candy in Gulf County and was affectionately known as the "Candyman". He served in the U.S. Army in Italy during World War II. He was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church and the VFW. He is survived by his wife, Janice I. Birmingham; three daughters, Galena Pippin, Joyce Groom and husband Paul, Connie St. Clair and husband Joe; son, Douglas C. Birmingham and wife Betty, all of Wewahitchka; 12 grandchildren: Coleman Walker Pippin, Timothy Clark Pippin, Gencia (Terri) Myers, Marty Anthony Pippin, Henry I. Rish, Ralph Rish, Paul William Groom, Jennifer Myers, Angela Creel, Amy St. Clair, Matthew Birmingham, Judith Clayton; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Pat Park of Fort Walton Beach; three brothers, Elwood Barfield of Lynn Haven, James Barfield of Crestview, and Hank Barfield of Panama City. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. CST at Glad Tiding Assembly of God Church, Wewahitchka, with the Rev. Neal Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Jehu Cemetery in Wewahitchka. The family will receive friends at the church today from 6 to 9 p.m. The family will be at the home of Connie and Joe St. Clair, 148 Lucy Drive, Wewahitchka.

DONNA B HOWARD
Mrs. Donna B Howard, age 49, of 7591 Pearch St., Howard's Creek, Fla., died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001. She had been a resident of the Panama City area for most of her life before moving to Howard's Creek three years ago. Mrs. Howard was a devoted wife, mother, and "nana" who loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and fishing and was a member of Howard Creek Baptist Church. She worked as an accountant and office manager for the Richard Money Construction Company of Southport for seven years. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Allen Howard of Howard's Creek; daughters, Holly Whitmire and her husband George of Panama City, Shelley Dyment and her fiance, Charlie Hill of Panama City; her parents, John and Fern Usher of Panama City; sisters, Linda Jane Markham of Panama City and Marie Mikronis of Baton Rouge, La.; a brother, Robert Markham of Panama City Beach; grandchildren, Emily Rae Dyment, Nataley Leona Dyment, Evan Allen Whitmire; brothers-in- law: Buddy Moore of Ft. Myers, Ronnie Howard, Ray Howard, and Jackie Howard, all of Panama City; sisters-in-law: Barbara McDowell, Jackie Howard, and Marsha Howard all of Panama City; 7 nieces and nephews and 13 great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lauren Holly Whitmire and her father, Johnny Markham. Carolyn Keiserman Fowler, 80, of 905 Sea Robin Lane, Panama City Beach, Fla., died Thursday in a local hospital. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1970, moving here from Florence, S.C. She was a member of Bay Point Woman's Club, the Bay Point Yacht Club, the Our Club Wednesday Ladies Luncheon and several bridge clubs. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City where she was a member of the LLL Sunday school class. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Fowler. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Ann Shenk and her husband, Richard of Cincinnati, Ohio; son, Bill Jordan and his wife, Cheryl; 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth Jordan, Will Jordan all of Gainesville, Fla., Jason Esterkamp of Cincinnati, Ohio, and two sisters, Charlotte K. Krum and Pearle K. Willis both of Harrisburg, Penn. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m., in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Raley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after the service. Interment will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Florence, S.C. Those desiring to may make a contribution to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund in memory of Carolyn Fowler.
