Mrs.Cheryl Burton Betz, 41, of Bismarck, N.D., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, in a North Dakota hospital. Born in Long Island, N.Y., she moved here in 1963 from Okinawa, Japan. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and daughter. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and graduate of Rutherford High School. She was a dedicated Christian, had been the choir director for one year at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and was still active in all Christian activities with her church. Mrs. Betz is survived by her Christian family, her father and mother, Kenneth W. Burton Jr., and Sylvia of Parker, Fla.; her husband, Charles Betz; two children, Chase and Cole Betz all of Bismarck, N.D.; one sister, Robin Burton-Lees and husband, Harry of Bourne, Texas; two brothers, the Rev. Kenneth W. Burton III and wife, Terry of Little Rock, Ark., and Eric Scott Burton of Panama City Beach; maternal grandmother, Sylvia Beuttenmueller of New Jersey; paternal grandfather, Kenneth W. Burton Sr., of New Castle, Ind.; and numerous loving aunts, uncles and other family members. Funeral arrangements are pending at this time.

CATHERINE BARBARA CANNON
Catherine Barbara Cannon, 61, of 1524 Crooked Lane, Southport, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001, in a Tallahassee hospital. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1966 moving here from California. She was a retired waitress. Mrs. Cannon was preceded in death by a son, Billy Ray Cannon. She is survived by her husband, Sammie Joe Cannon of Southport; daughter, Katie Spence and her husband, William of Crawfordville; son, Joseph Cannon and his wife, Jenny of Lynn Haven; six grandchildren: Catherine Spence, Sammie Jo Spence, Buddy Spence, April Cannon, Tabby Cannon and Joe Cannon; sister, Mary Forester and her husband, Melvin and brother, Joseph Ramondo all of Philadelphia, Pa. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Billy Spence officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Those desiring to, may make a donation to the Diabetes Foundation in memory of Catherine Cannon.

MADALYN SMITH GRAY
Madalyn Smith Gray, 80, of 1025 West 19th Street No. 14A, Panama City, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, in a local nursing home. She retired as a teacher and a dancer. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1984, moving here from Dothan, Ala. She was a member of the BPOE Does and First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother, Opal Bush Dunn. She is survived by her husband, Elmer R. Gray of Panama City; two sisters, Jean Graves and husband, Caswell, Val Nunes and husband, Lucky, all of Fort Walton; four daughters: Tami Browning and husband, Jack of Lake Placid, Delores G. Riley and husband, James, of Doraville, Ga., Teresa Poppell and husband, Buddy of Austell, Ga., Shannon Crawford of Orlando; three sons: Tom Smith and wife, Bobbi, Kim Smith and wife, Kathy, all of Dothan, John P. Gray and wife, Julie of Hernando, Fla.; 15 grandchildren: Lenora Lynam, Melissa Arnaiz, Laura Smith, Ashley Smith, Samantha Smith, Katie Riley, Michael Riley, John Gray Jr., Richard Gray, Lisa Haas, Ricky Heisner, Robbie Heisner, Jamie Heisner, Beth Heisner, Pam Heisner; seven great-grandchildren; stepfather, Percy Dunn. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Doug Newton officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 8 p.m.

BERNADETTE BOUDREAU ISCH
Bernadette Boudreau Isch, 79, of 2175 Frankford Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, in a local hospital. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1988, moving here from Marine City, Mich. She was a retired Sergeant in the U.S. Army. Mrs. Isch was a member of St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by her nephew, Gordon Boudreau and his wife, Elaine of Cumming, Ga.; and a sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Segelhorst of Anchorage, Alaska. Funeral services will be held Friday at 12 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Monsignor Crowe officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery Marshallville, Ohio. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

HREFNA SWANSON
Mrs. Hrefna Swanson age 69, who has resided in Panama City, Fla., for the last 22 years, who loved and cared for her children and grandchildren with the deepest devotion, passed away at her home on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001. She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Shiver of Panama City; three sons: Gunnar Swanson of Panama City, Bob Swanson and his wife Sue of Frederick, Md., and Pete Swanson and his wife, Mary of Panama City; five grandchildren: Erica and Kyle Swanson of Frederick, Md., Justin Shiver of Panama City, Hannah and Miranda Swanson of Panama Ctiy, who loved and depended on her very much; and many close friends. She will be very deeply missed. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 2 from 6 to 8 p.m.

ROBERT LEE 'BOBBY' WHITE
An American hero and devoted father, Robert Lee "Bobby" White, of Panama City Beach, Fla., passed away Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001. Born May 29, 1935, in Port Jervis, N.Y., Bobby is survived by his stepmother, Mrs. Nancy White of Panama City Beach; and his children: Curtis White, Robin White, and Donna Allen, all of Panama City Beach, Richard Allen of Kentucky and Thomas Allen of Orlando, Fla.; his grandchildren: Chris Allen of Panama City Beach, Amanda Lungsford of Virginia and Kira White of Crystal River, Fla.; his brothers, Louis White of Orlando, Shawn White of Panama City Beach; and a sister, Linda White of Louisiana; and a host of friends to which he was always hospitable. Serving in the Marine Corps, he was a highly decorated Korean War Veteran. His family will be receiving friends today, Feb. 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at 2512 Joan Ave., Panama City Beach, Fla. In lieu of flowers, please contact your U. S. JANICE RAY CRANDALL
On Jan. 14, 2001, Ms. Janice Ray Crandall of Panama City, Fla., age 52, lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. Born on Feb. 20, 1948, she is the daughter of the late Mr. Robert S. Ray and the late Mrs. Mary J. Ray. She is the sister of the late Norma June Ray. She is survived by: daughter Pamela J. Fullmer; grandson's, Justin M. Fullmer and Jeremy W. Fullmer; nephew, David J. Lewis and his three children: Amy Lewis, Joe Lewis and Ben Lewis; niece, Debra Clark and her daughter, Sarah Arnold. Janice was a teacher for more than 20 years at Rosenwald Middle School and was a teacher in Bay Co. for about 31 years. Mr. Thomas Murray, 73, of Ebro died Jan. 28, 2001, in a local medical center. He was a native of Ramer, Ala., resided in Ebro most of his life. He was a construction worker and of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Oak Grove Baptist Church Ebro with Elder Willie E. Brown, The Rev. Billy Marshell, Min. John Jackson, and Bishop Richard Jenkins Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in St. Luke Memorial Garden Cemetery Vernon with Cooper Funeral Home directing. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eula M. Murray of Ebro; three sons: Thomas Murray Jr. (Odell) of Vernon, Ronald C. Murray (Darlene), and Lee Albert Murray (Pamala) of Ebro; five daughters: Bernice Potter (Henry) of Vernon, Mary H. Jackson, Mary E. Daniels (Theo) of Panama City, Beatrice Andrews (Elvis) of Ebro and Christine Vann (Billy) of Chipley; two brothers, Jessie and Lewis Murray of Montgomery; three sisters: Sarah Williams, Cora Boyd and Martha Garet all of Alabama and many other relatives and friends. The remains will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.

CHRISTINE DANVERS
Mrs. Christine Danvers age 87, of 7540 Coleridge Rd., Panama City, Fla., died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at a local nursing facility. She had been a resident of the area since 1971, coming here from Cape Coral, Fla. Mrs.Danvers was a homemaker and Baptist by faith. She is survived by her daughter: Gayle Susman and her husband Michael of Dalton, Ga.; a son, Fred Hartley Danvers Jr. of Panama City; grandchildren: David Susman, Jeff Susman, and Fred Hartley Danvers III and his wife Ann; great-grandchildren: John James Danvers, Rebecca Brook Danvers, and Fred Hartley Danvers IV; one brother, and three sisters. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Fred Danvers. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Feb. 2, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after the service.

Mr. Roy (Gunny) McNeil, 86, of 1346 Palo Alto Ave. died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, in Panama City Nursing Center. He was a lifelong native of Panama City. He leaves to mourn six sons: Alphonso who preceded him in death, Roy Jr. of Syracuse, N.Y., Bobby Joe of Fountain, Jimmy, Kenneth, Connie Ray all of Panama City; one daughter, Mattie Faye of Panama City and one sister, Ms. Nellie Ruth McNeil; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; a very special nephew, Bobby (Piquieta) and special niece, Carol (Gregg) and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends. A special thank you to all his nieces and nephews who cared so very much. Funeral services for Mr. McNeil will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, at 11 a.m. in New Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. James Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Redwood Cemetery. Public visitation will begin at the funeral home today from 1 to 8 p.m. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby and Piquieta White of 713 Satsuma Ave.
