Colleen Maddy Martin, of Panama City, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, in Pace, Fla. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1994 after moving here from Houston, Texas. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She is survived by her son, Frank B. Martin of Pace; daughter, Virginia Strange of Shreveport, La.; three brothers: Elmer Charles Maddy Jr. of Greenwich, Conn., Howard R. Maddy of Dallas, Texas, and James R. Maddy of Mansfield, Texas; three grandsons: Joshua A. Martin, Jacob A. Martin, both of Pace, and Kerry Strange of Shreveport; and a granddaughter, Leslie Fox of Shreveport. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1905 W. 11th St. Panama City with Pastor Scott Tyman officiating. Active pallbearers will be Stanley Dalton, Richard Hoover, John Hooks, Lowell Burwell and Glenn Clark. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m.

FERN STRIDER MOORE
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Fern Strider Moore, of Panama City Beach, who went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, will be held 1 p.m. today, Feb. 12, 2001, at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery, with Minister Le Derrick Smedley of the Faith Christian Family Church officiating, with interment following.

RALPH PALMER
Mr. Ralph Palmer, 76, of Panama City, died Feb. 10, 2001, at a medical health care facility. Mr. Palmer was born in Geneva, Ala. He moved here in 1968 after coming here from Houston, Texas. Mr. Palmer was an underwater welder in the shipbuilding industry and was employed by Modern Water. Mr. Palmer was also a member of the Eastside Assembly of God Church and was a veteran of World War II, earning a Purple Heart, the Congressional Medal of Honor, Bronze Star and numerous other awards for heroic service with the U.S. Army in Normandy and other areas of the European Theatre of Operations. Mr. Palmer is survived by seven sons: Raymond Hill (Mildred), Thomas Palmer, James Palmer, and Billy (Lynn) Palmer, all of Springfield, Bruce (Stacy) Palmer of Prairieville, La., David (Theresa) Palmer of Panama City and Kenneth Williamson of Panama City; two daughters, Brenda (Howard) Vincent of Chipley and Cynthia (Scott) Schuller of Southport; two brothers, Jack (Joanne) Palmer of Carrabelle, Fla., and Wessie (Mavis) Palmer of Carrabelle; 26 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Mrs. Ethel Marie Palmer. Funeral services for Mr. Palmer will be held Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at 1 p.m. at the Southerland Family Funeral Homes Chapel with the Rev. Charles Royals officiating. Internment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service on Wednesday.

FREDERICK BULLIVANT III
Frederick "Rick" Bullivant III died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at his home in Wausau, Fla. He was a native of Newark, N.J. He had been living in Wausau for the past 16 years, moving there from Flemington, N.J. Mr. Bullivant was retired as an electronic technician with Lockheed Electronic Company. He served in the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict, and was a former member of the Elks Lodge in Flemington, N.J. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Bullivant; father and mother, Fred and Ruth Bullivant. He is survived by his wife, Alice Bullivant; a son, Christopher Bullivant both of Wausau; a daughter, Dawn and John Smith; granddaughter, Andrea Diane Smith of Crestview; one brother, Wilson and Karen Bullivant of Asbury, N.J. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m., from the Living Word Church of God in Greenhead located on Highway 77, with the Rev. R. Colonel Smith officiating.

GERTRUDE M. CARPENTER
Gertrude M. Carpenter, 89, of Tallahassee, died Feb. 11, 2001. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 15, at 11 a.m., in WestMinster Oaks Frances Chapel in Tallahassee. Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahassee is in charge of the arrangements.

ROBERT 'EUGENE' ENFINGER
Mr. Robert Eugene Enfinger, 83, of Youngstown, died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, at a local health care facility. Born in Madrid, Ala., he moved to the Panama City area when he was 5 years old. Mr. Enfinger was employed as a custodian with the Bay County School Board for 36 years and was of the Protestant faith. Mr. Enfinger is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mrs. Nancy Jane Enfinger of Youngstown; two sons, Mr. Hayward Enfinger of Youngstown and Mr. Charles Enfinger and wife, Kim of Youngstown; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Lois Stephens and husband, Larry of Bates City, Mo.; two brothers, Mr. Doyle Enfinger of Tallahassee, Fla., and Mr. Louie Enfinger of Youngstown, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Eloise Howard of Tampa, Fla., and Mrs. Mary Wiggins of Panama City; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today, Feb. 13, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Sapp officiating. Interment will follow in the Brown Cemetary at Bennett Crossroads. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bay County Alzheimers Association, 1306 Jenks Ave., Panama City, FL 32404 in Mr. Enfinger's name.

MELMER GRUBBS
Mrs. Melmer Grubbs, age, 88, of 4418 Cato Road, Panama City, Fla., passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, in a local hospital. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1948 coming here from Louisville, Ala. Mrs. Grubbs was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed gardening and yard work, fishing and the outdoors. Mrs. Grubbs is survived by two sons, Billy R. Grubbs and wife Sue of Ormond Beach, Fla., and Cecil D. Grubbs and wife Julie of Yalaha, Fla.; two brothers, Billy Earl Carpenter of Dearborn, Mich., and Shorty Carpenter of Louisville, Ala.; three sisters, Gertrude Hartzog of Louisville, Christian Phelps of Auburn, Ala., and Cupi Dean Abbott of Orlando; and eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, and a special friend, Mattie Cook of Panama City. Mrs. Grubbs was preceded in death by her husband W.T. Grubbs; a daughter, Lillyan Fussell; and a son, Eugene Grubbs. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Feb. 13, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Parker officiating. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Mrs. Grubbs grandsons, Ray Grubbs, Jon Grubbs, Tracy Grubbs, Cecil Grubbs, Mike Grubbs and David Fussell. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.

EDNA ELOIS LARAMORE
Edna Elois Laramore, 86, of Panama City, passed away Sunday morning, Feb. 11, 2001, in a local hospital. She was born in Betts, Fla., and was a lifelong resident of Panama City. She was active in the American Cancer Society, PTA, and the March of Dimes. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.D. (Bill) Laramore; daughter, Sharon Janelle Gunter; and a son, Don Wayne Laramore. She is survived by three daughters, LaVerne Olsen of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Barbara Rimer of Mount Pleasant, N.C., Sandra Blount of Panama City; two sons, William (Billy) Laramore of Thomasville, Ga., Ronald Laramore of Panama City; sister, Annette Woodley of Auburn, Ala.; 13 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Trinity United Methodist Church with Dr. Floyd Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.

JAY CECIL WILLIAMS
Mr. Jay Cecil Williams, age 81, of Panama City, passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, at his home. He was a native of Graceville and had lived in Panama City since 1941. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, where he was awarded two Silver Stars and the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service. Mr. Williams went to work at the Naval Coastal Systems Station in 1945 and worked until his retirement in 1979. He is survived by his daughter, Juanita Carolyn Lewis and her husband Charlie of Panama City; a son, Herbert Williams of Pensacola; granddaughter, Colleen Ruckman and her husband Mark; great-granddaughters, Ciera Lee and Tori Denise Ruckman of Panama City; two sisters, Jewell Brock and Polly Jakubowsi of Tallahassee; sisters-in-law, Norma Williams and Patricia Williams of Panama City, Syble Roberts of Graceville, Fla., Dollie Pelham of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., J. C. Gillman of Milton, Fla., Bessie Lou Gillman of Milligan, and Adeline Gillman of Milton; brother-in-law, J.D. Gillman and his wife Louise of Milton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Addie Lee Gillman Williams; parents, Jay and Martie Williams; his brothers, Frank "Snookey" Williams, George C. "Kenny" Williams, Henry Carl Williams; and sister, Ruby Hogeboom. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Feb. 13, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mrs. Annice Johnson, 87, of 1506 Flower Ave., died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, in a local hospital. She was a native of Uriah, Ala., and a resident of Panama City for many years. She is survived by her very devoted son, Alexander Johnson (Leola) of Panama City; grandsons, James Lee of Atlanta, Ga., Lewis Johnson (Terry) of Fort Lauderdale, Elliott Ganier (Barbara), Stephan Ganier and Alexander Johnson (Renee) all of Panama City, and Andrea Johnson of Pompano Beach; granddaughters, Debra Magwood of Tampa, Shirley Ganier, Jacqueline Ganier, Queenie Smith Annice Griffin (Michael) and Dorothy Johnson all of Panama City; 26 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be held Thursday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. in Shekinah Glory Ministry Church, 1729 St. Andrews Blvd., with Minister Billy J. Davis Jr. officiating. Interment to follow in Hillside Cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time. The family will receive relatives and friends at 1511 Fortune Ave.
