MILDRED W. MARBURY
Mrs. Mildred W. Marbury, 89 of Howard's Creek, Fla., died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at Port St. Joe medical facility. She was born in Birmingham, Ala., and moved here 40 years ago. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, aunt, and friend to many people. She was a member of Presbyterian Church, Wewahitchka, also a member of Eastern Star, St. Andrew's Chapter 223. Mildred was preceded in death by her mother and father and her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Mr. John M. Marbury. Also preceding her in death were her two sisters, Nell Stewart and Eunice Jacobson. Mildred is survived by her nephews, Robert Stewart and wife Carol of Birmingham; great nephew, Rob Stewart also of Birmingham. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 17, at 10 a.m. in Presbyterian Church in Wewahitchka. Interment will follow in Roberts Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

ETHEL REECE REDDING NIBLACK
Ethel Reece Redding Niblack was born Oct. 15, 1904, in Biloxi, Miss. She died Feb. 13, 2001, at Bay Crest Nursing Center, Panama City, Fla., where she had resided for three years. Mrs. Niblack was the youngest child of Charles Walter Redding and Nancy (Annie) Pittman Redding. She graduated from Biloxi High School in 1922 and from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Ga., in 1926. She taught school at Natchez, Miss. In December of 1927, she married Emmett A. Niblack Sr. at the Church of the Redeemer in Biloxi, Miss. Mrs. Niblack was a lifelong member of that church and was an active member of St. Agnes Guild for more than half a century. Mrs. Niblack was a participant in Biloxi Gray Ladies during World War II and was a Girl Scout leader for many years. She was also a charter member of Chapter D, PEO in Biloxi and received the 50-year certificate of membership in 1999. She was likewise a member of Fortnightly Club for more than fifty years. Mrs. Niblack was predeceased by her parents and her husband of sixty years, Emmett A. Niblack Sr., U.S. Army retired. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Valentine C. Redding and Charles M. Redding; three sisters: Esther A. Redding, Estelle R. Lussier and Maybelle R. Finley; two nieces, Eugene R. Parker and Dorothy Finley Brooking and one nephew, Valentine C. Redding. She is survived by three children: Emmett A. Niblack Jr., USAF retired of Highlands, N.C., Charles R. Niblack of Mobile, Ala., and Nancy Niblack Dantzler of Panama City. She is survived by two daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, two nieces, Charline Redding Cole and Shirley Redding Heitzman of Biloxi, Miss., and two nephews, Charles Lee Redding of Mesa, Ariz., and Ormond V. Redding of Biloxi, Miss. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Agnes Scott College, 141 E. College Avenue, Decatur, Georgia 30030, to The Church of the Redeemer, 610 Water Street, Biloxi, MS 39530 or to your favorite charity. The family visitation for Mrs. Niblack will be at the Redding House, 770 Jackson St. in Biloxi today, Feb. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. Pallbearers will be three of her grandsons, Stewart Niblack, Charles Niblack Jr. and Lorenzo Dantzler and three of her great- grandsons, John Thomas Niblack, Phillip B. Shearer and Brent Thomas Shearer. The funeral services will be at the Church of the Redeemer, 610 Water St., Biloxi, MS at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2001.

RICHARD LEWIS REGISTER
Richard Lewis Register Jr., age 31, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 14, 2001, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at Bryd-Williams Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Holmes County, Fla., with Byrd-Williams Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Mr. Register was born Sept. 9, 1969, in Panama City and lived there all of his life. He was employed as a fisherman. Survivors include two daughters, Richelle Register and Summer Register, both of Panama City; his parents, Richard Lewis Register of Lynn Haven and Paula Yarbrough of Opp, Ala.; a brother, James Allen Register of Opp; a sister, Summer Pelham of Opp; grandmothers, Evelyn Morgan of Opp and Maggie Wilson of Panama City; a grandfather, Mr. and Mrs. James Yarbrough of Lynn Haven.

WILLIAM SPIRES
Mr. William Spires, 77, of 1119 N. Cypress Ave. died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, in a local nursing home. He was a native of Bonifay but had been a long time resident of Bay County. He was the eleventh and last child born to the late Mr. Emanuel and Ida Caphart Spires. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bonifay. After moving to Panama City, he became a member of Redemption Lutheran Church where he served faithfully until his health began to fail. Often times he did not feel well, but he still came on through his pains. He was a regular in Sunday School and served in many capacities within the church. He was Building and Ground Chairman for many years. Mr. Spires loved Redemption Lutheran Church and if you ever talked with him, he expressed that to you. His early education started at Bayview Elementary School in Holmes County and received his diploma from Rosenwald High School. He attended the school of brick masonry in Bainbridge, Ga. Mr. Spires leaves to cherish his memories three daughters: Patricia Lynn Spires (his baby as he called her), Leesa Yvette (Lawrence) Douglas and Jacqueline Delores; one son, Raymond (Robin) Herbert; two sisters, Ida M. Spires and Anna O. Phillips; five grandchildren: Stephen, Angelisa and Gabriel Douglas; Jada K and Micah S. Herbert, many nieces, nephews; and a special niece and nephew in Panama City, Janet (Fred) Peterson and a host of cousins and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Spires will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m. in Redemption Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robert Lydick officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church only.

STEVEN STELLATO
Mr. Steven Stellato "Steve" of Panama City passed away Monday, Feb. 12, 2001. He was born in New Haven, Conn., and moved here seven years ago from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Mr. Stellato was a baker with Chef Imondi's. He was of the Jewish faith. Steven was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara in 1981 and his grandparents, Benjamin and Anne Spiegler. He is survived by his loving son, Jason Stellato of Fort Lauderdale; brother, "Chef" Paul Stellato and wife Anne of Panama City; nieces: Ashley, Barbara, Jennifer of Panama City; sister, Concetta Combest of Panama City Beach; nephews, James Harper of Panama City Beach and Uncle Larry and wife Carol Spiegler and family of West Palm Beach, Fla. He is also survived by his father. A private memorial service will be conducted on Sunday, Feb. 18, at 1 p.m. in Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel in Panama City.

LORIDA HELEN GAY ADAMS
Funeral services for Florida Helen Gay Adams, age 64, who went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Margaret Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Active pallbearers are: David Morgan, Brian Morgan, Alan Davis, Jason Nelms, Jeff Mayo, Sean Rhew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Parker (Pete) Adams and her father, Charles Booth Gay. She is survived by two sons, Clifford Parker (Petey) Adams and his wife, Sheryl; Andrew Gay (Andy) Adams; mother, Catherine Thomas and her husband, Tommie; two sisters, Charlotte Phillips and her husband Russell; Linda Hill and her husband, Wyman; two stepgrandchildren, Robert Paul Newman Jr., Wesley Ryan Newman, and a host of nieces and nephews. Those desiring to may make a contribution to Council on Aging in memory of Helen Adams.

Quillie Bell Clark, 99, of 615 Florida Avenue, Lynn Haven, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, in a local hospital. She had been a resident of this area since the 1940s. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Lewis Bell and John Henry Clark, and a daughter, Euna Glen Spence. She is survived by 3 children, Eloise Johnson and husband, Johnny of Troy, MI; Carthon Bell and wife, Ruby of Panama City; Bonnie Franklin of Slocomb, Ala.; 13 grandchildren, Mary Landingham and husband, Robert of Lynn Haven; Marie Lewis; James Lewis and wife, Mary; Charles Bell, all of Panama City; Ronald Bell and wife, Joyce of Milton, Fla.; Cheryl Sturtz and husband, Doug, of Troy, MI; Edna Hollinghead and husband, Orell of Florala , Ala.; Margarett Watkins and husband, Larry of Leesburg, Fla.; Wally Watkins and wife, Louise of MacClenny, Fla.; Buddy Watkins of Lakeland, Fla.; Paula Ryans and husband, Richard; Tim Franklin, Jon Marc Franklin, all of Slocomb; 32 great-grandchildren, 52 great-great-grandchildren; five great-great-great-grandchildren, brother, Doward McKelvin and a stepbrother, Moody Carnley. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Brother J.C. Stanaland and Rev. Lewis Miller officiating. Funeral services for Mr. Robert Earl Floyd, age 76, of Panama City, Fla., who passed away Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, will be held 11 a.m., today, Feb. 17, 2001, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andrew L. Smith, the Rev. Jerry Everage, the Rev. Franklin D. Penny and the Rev. Harry Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery in Kynesville, Fla., with military honors. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are: Cledus Penny, Wayne Penny, Royce Davis, Bobby Davis, Pete Floyd, Herman Floyd, and Larry Floyd. JAMES MORRIS
The Rev. James Morris, 74, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, after a lengthy illness. He was a United Methodist pastor in the Alabama/West Florida Conference and retired in 1991 after 41 years of service. He was a member of Wausau Development Clubs and was known as the Father of Possum Ice Cream. He helped to organize the South Washington County Ministerial Fellowship. He was a humanitarian greatly appreciated and loved in the communities he served. The Rev. Morris was the son of Jay and Mittie Hinson Morris. He is survived by his wife Mary J. Abreu Morris; three daughters, Anola Morris Powell and husband Randall; Sandra Abreu Batson and Sue deAbreu; one son, Aaron Abreu and wife Marcia; one sister, Myrtle Wolfe and husband Bennie; two brothers, Lonnie Morrie and wife Molly; and Wilson Morris; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held today, Feb. 17 at 11 a.m. in Southerland Family Funeral Home Lynn Haven Chapel with the Rev. Doug Pennington and District Superintendent Wesley Spivey officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Chipley. Marianna/Panama City District United Methodist Pastors will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Morris' grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the home one hour prior to the funeral service. Donations can be made to Hospice of the Emerald Coast or the Building Fund at Lynn Haven United Methodist Church, if friends or family prefer, in memory of Mr. Morris.

SARAH GRACE JONES POTEAT
Sarah Grace Jones Poteat, age 74, passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, in a Fort Smith, Ark., hospital. She was originally from Geneva County, Ala., before moving to Panama City. She had recently moved to Fort Smith, Ark., to live with her daughter, son-in-law, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Buren Barnes; brother, Lamar Barnes; sister, Glenda Fay Barnes, also Harry Jones and John Poteat. She is surivied by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Dave Becker; granddaughter, Christin and husband and grandson Brad and wife and two great-grandchildren; four sisters and husbands, Bertha Drake and Wallace; Martha Jo Jones and Wayne; Ann Stinson and Lloyd; Lila Griffin and I.D.; five brothers and wives, Bruce Barnes and Loretta; James Barnes and Shirley; Rodney Barnes and Patricia; Larry Barnes and Mary Helen; Randall Barnes and Judy. Also numerous neices and nephews. Memorialization will be by cremation. Memorial services will be held Sunday, Feb. 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Cove Baptist Church with the Rev. Nathan Keen officiating. Donations may be made to Cove Baptist Church in memory of Sarah Jones Poteat.

Mr. James Cecil Vickery, age 75, of Altha, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, in Panama City. Mr. Vickery was born in Altha and was a member of Advent Christian Church. Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Broward and Olivia Vickery of Frink; two sisters and brother-in-law, Lois Pitts of Panama City and Bonnie and Joe Johnson of Monroe, Ga.; one brother-in-law, Louie Nichols of Panama City; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held today, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. CST in Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Altha with the Rev. Tom McCardel officiating. Interment will follow in New Shiloh Cemetery near Altha. The family received friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Altha.

Mrs. Cora Lee Bodeen, 89, of Bartow, Fla., died in Lakeland, Fla., on Feb. 16, 2001. Mrs. Bodeen was born in Bonifay and was a former resident of Panama City. She was a member of the Evangel Temple. She is preceeded in death by her husband, the Rev. Allen Bodeen. Survivors include a son, the Rev. Ray A. Bodeen of Bartow; three sisters: Hazel Golden of Columbus, Ga., Flossie Cooper and Rosie Lee Vandergrift, both of Panama City. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 19 at 2 p.m.
