MALCOLM KOEHLER
Mr. Malcolm Koehler, age 92, of 3637 W. Hwy 390, Panama City, Fla., died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1971, coming here from Ocala, Fla. Mr. Koehler was a member of Presbytery of Florida, retiring in 1973. He organized and built a new church in Ocala, Fla., Fort King Presbyterian Church. Mr. Koehler is survived by his wife, Jane Koehler of Panama City; a son, Malcolm Richard Koehler and his wife Mary of Quincy; four grandchildren, Herbert Chancey, Robin Chancey Miller, Susan Chancey Stewart and Benjamin Chancey; a brother, Lawrence E. Koehler of Solona Beach, Calif.; and two sisters, Martha M. Mitchell of Mesa, Ariz., and Leah L. Vogely of Livingston, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ken Churchill officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church, Wednesday, Feb. 21, from 1 to 2 p.m., an hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church, 271 S. State 79, Panama City Beach, FL 32413.

MATT LEAVENS
Mattielene Leavens, 60, of Panama City, Fla., passed from this life on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, in Vernon, Fla. She had been a resident of Panama City for the past 38 years, coming from Vernon, Fla. She was of the Assembly of God Faith. A member of the Moose Lodge No. 1385 and VFW, Panama City. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. at Vernon Assembly of God with the Rev. Wesley Hall and the Rev. Roy Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery with Brown Funeral Home of Chipley directing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hal and Neta Brewer and husband, Phillip J. Leavens. Survivors are one son, Christopher Adkison, Panama City; two daughters, Teresa J. Pennington and husband Doug, Panama City, Melissa R. Adkison, Panama City; three brothers, Jack Brewer, Pensacola; Eddie Brewer, Vernon; Roland Brewer and wife Vivian, Vernon; three sisters, Corene Sasser, Vernon; Frances Baxley, Vernon; Carolyn Tyre, Vernon; one grandchild, Errin Shea Pennington.

Mrs. Cora M. Lemasters "Mom," age 97, of 9119 Tracy Way, Panama City, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at her residence. Mrs. Lemasters was born in Oldenburg, Ind., and had lived in the Panama City area since 1996, moving here from Hackettstown, N.J. She had owned and operated Lemasters Cleaners in Hackettstown for many years before retiring in 1990. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Panama City. She is survived by her sons, Carl Lemasters and his wife Joan of Evanston, Ill., Norman Lemasters and his wife Doris of Great Meadows, N.J., Raymond Lemasters and his wife Angie of Hackettstown, N.J.; a loving daughter-in-law and caregiver, Betty Lemasters of Panama City; 11 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Lemasters Sr. and two granddaughters, Linda Robertson and Patrice Lemasters. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Father William Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 20. Services and interment will be held at a later date in Hackettstown, N.J. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either Hospice of The Emerald Coast, 2929 Highway 77, Panama City, FL 32405 or to Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 5622 Julie Drive, Panama City, FL 32404.

MITCHELL LEWIS MCNEIL
Mr. Mitchell Lewis McNeil, age 61, of 4528 Wages Pond Road, Chipley, Fla., died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001 at his residence. He has been a lifetime resident of the area and was Protestant by faith. Mr. McNeil is survived by his sons, Steve McNeil and Rickey McNeil; sisters, Ammie Taylor and her husband Fred, Carolyn Nellums and her husband Larry, Georgia Johnson, Fannie Kyser and her husband J.T., Nancy Enfinger and Mary Sapp and her husband Richard; brothers, Oliver McNeil and his wife Jeanie, Henry Rogers and his wife Luella, and David Rogers and his wife Charlotte; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Sandy Mountain Cemetery with the Rev. Nixon Riley officiating. Interment will follow. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Fred Weckherlin, Dewayne McNeil, William Campbell, Ephrom Barfield, Garry Kyser, Bill Taylor and Buddy Hallman. Honorary pallbearers will include all the friends and families of Mitchell McNeil from Wages Pond. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, Feb. 20, from 6 to 8 p.m.

RUBY INEZ RAY
Mrs. Ruby Inez Ray, 91, of West Bay, Fla., died Sunday morning Feb. 18, 2001, in a local hospital. She was born in West Bay where she remained her entire life. She married Mr. D.R. Ray and together they owned and operated Ray's Grocery Store from 1935 to 1955. Mrs. Ray was also a member of the West Bay Advent Christian Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Mr. D.R. Ray and is survived by her two sons, Mr. John Ray and wife, Donna of Lynn Haven and Mr. Roy E. Ray and wife Myrtle of Bayou George; three daughters, Mrs. Inez Kirtsinger and husband, Carl, Doris Bass and husband, Gerald, all of Lynn Haven, and Delma Jordan and her husband Calvin of Bonifay; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service for Mrs. Ray will be conducted on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at 2 p.m.,in the West Bay Advent Christian Church with interment to follow in the West Bay Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenny Ray, Greg Ray, Howie Bass, Alan Kirtsinger, Kevin Gay and Gil Anderson. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home today, Feb. 20, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m.

SHIRLEY BARE
Mrs. Shirley Bare, 66, of Panama City Beach died Saturday Feb. 17, 2001, after a bout with cancer. A native of Daleville, Va., Mrs. Bare lived in Panama City for seven years after moving here from Riverside, Calif. She was a mother extraordinaire and the best cook on the planet. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Boyd B. Bare; three sons: David W. Bare, Benjamin B. Bare and Brian B. Bare; two sisters, Betty Breedlove and Carol Tarwater. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in her name be made to the American Cancer Society.

JORDAN JEFFERY FLETCHER
Jordan Jeffery Fletcher, age 11, of Indian Pass, Fla., born Nov. 8, 1989, passed away Friday, Feb. 16, 2001. Jordan is survived by his loving parents, Jeffery Harold and Debra Nicole Fletcher and one sister, Brittany Nicole Fletcher, age 12. Jordans grandparents are Frank and Margaret Fletcher of Indian Pass and Mike and Sherry Anderson of Panama City; great-grandmothers, Dorothy Haddock of Chipley and Connie Taylor of Lynn Haven. Jordan is also survived by aunts and uncles: Rebecca and Andy Wise, Desiree Anderson, Christopher Anderson, Jonathan Anderson, Jason and Vanessa Pavlik and Gregory Fletcher. A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. EST today, at the Oak Grove Assembly of God Church located on Madison Avenue in Port St. Joe, Fla. Jordan was a light to friends and community and a treasure to his family. A private family ceremony will be held at Bonnett Pond Community Church in Chipley, Fla., today at 3 p.m. CST.

Mr. Harry Jay Jones, age 73, of 222 Attu St., Panama City Beach, Fla., died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at his residence. Mr. Jones was born in Bessemer, Ala., and had lived in the Panama City Beach area since 1988, moving here from Birmingham, Ala. He was a member of St. Thomas by the Sea Episcopal Church. He is survived by his wife, Judy W. Jones of Panama City Beach; sons, Jason Jones of Panama City Beach, Vann Jones of Bessemer; daughters, Terri Vickery of Helena, Ala., Kim Ledingham of Alabaster, Ala.; brothers, Harold Jones of Bessemer, Mack Jones of Columbia, S.C.; sisters: Jean Morgan and Paula Busby of Pleasant Grove, Ala., Evelyn Smith of Bessemer; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A private memorial service will be held on Tuesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Memorialization will be by cremation.

Edna Finch Hutchins, 92, of Panama City, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, in a local hospital. She had been a resident of Panama City since 1937, moving here from Chipley, Fla. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City and the TEL-Ruth Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Hutchins. She is survived by two daughters, Bennye H. Kingsley and husband, Zeff, of Lynn Haven, and Mary Wanda Nelsen and husband, Clyde, of Omaha, Neb.; son, Joe Hutchins and wife, Anne, of Lynn Haven; two sisters, Bertha Gay and husband, Coy, and Myrtle Gay, all of Panama City; two brothers, Leonard Finch of Milton, Fla., and Mack Finch and wife, Martha, of Panama City; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Raley officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery in Chipley. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Those desiring to may make a contribution to the memorial fund of First Baptist Church in memory of Edna Hutchins.

Mr. George T. "Tommy" Jordan Sr., age 88, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at his residence. Born in Cairo, Ga., he was a long-time resident of Panama City and owned the John Deere dealership, Jordan Tractor Company. Mr. Jordan is survived by his wife, Lula Palazzo Jordan; one son, George T. Jordan Jr.; four grandchildren, Jean Jordan Callis, Charles S. Jordan, Kim Jordan Huguenard and Joseph B. Jordan; and nine great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be conducted today, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m. in Lynn Haven Cemetery with Father Baum officiating.

GEORGINA DOLBY 'JEAN' KENNEDY
Georgina Dolby "Jean" Kennedy, of 2434 Pretty Bayou Blvd., died Saturday night at the home of her daughter in Ormond Beach, Fla. She had been a resident here since 1963, moving here from Colorado Springs, Colo. She was a member of St. Andrew Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Maxwell Kennedy, and her son, Brian Maxwell Kennedy. She is survived by one daughter, Susan Junkett; and a granddaughter, Katie Junkett, both of Ormond Beach. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Andrew Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery in DeFuniak Springs. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
