Mrs. Joy Ann Thorne, 72, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Friday, March 23, 2001, in St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. Born in Bessemer, Ala., on Jan. 1, 1929, she moved to Bay County in 1952 and worked for the Bay County School Board for 27 years as a teacher. She retired from Bay High School in 1981. She was also a member of St. Andrews Baptist Church. Her parents, John and Vera Rowe, and a son, John J. McClanahan, precede her in death. Mrs. Thorne is survived by a son, George B. Thorne and wife Sandy of Weston, Fla.; one brother, Jerome M. "Jerry" Rowe of Lake City, Fla.; one sister, Serene Rowe Johnson of Alachua, Fla.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held today, March 27, at 3 p.m. in Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, David Hecht, Derrick Bennett, Steve McNeil, Tom McCarthy, Billy Doyle, and Phillip Thorne. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 30, at 2 p.m. in St. Catherine's Manor Chapel in Jacksonville, Fla.

Funeral services for Delia Margaret Yawn Clemo, 59, of 2113 West 27th St., Panama City, 784-0783, who died Sunday, March 25, 2001, in a local hospital, will be held today at 3 p.m. in Woodlawn United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ron Ball and Brother Si Mathison officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers are Hal Coggins, Jimmy Barr, Raymond Powell, Reggie Gilbert, Herb Kumpf, Gary White, Lee Sullivan and Bob Myers. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Leonard, Ted McLane, members of the Searchers Sunday School Class of Woodlawn United Methodist Church, Prime 55 Advisory Board, Council on Aging Administrative Board, Bay Med Plus Board and RSVP Board. Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred E. "Millie" Fitzpatrick, 78, of Lynn Haven, Fla., will be held today, March 28, 2001, at 2 p.m. in Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with Judge David Taunton officiating. Funeral services for Alma Roberta Gatlin, age 74, of 1117 Fairy Ave., Panama City, Fla., who died Sunday, March 25, 2001, will be held at 10 a.m. today, March 28, at Central Pentecostal Ministries with the Rev. MILLARD E. GOLDEN
Mr. Millard E. Golden, 79, of Graceville, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center following an extended illness. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. today, March 28, at Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. J.D. Allen and the Rev. Marcus Caraway officiating, James and Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville directing. Family will receive friends at their home. In lieu of flowers family request those wishing to make memorials to Damascus Baptist Church, 5083 State 77, Graceville, FL 32440. Mr. Golden was born in Graceville on May 1, 1921, to the late Seaborn Adolph Golden and Cassie Pelham Golden. He was a graduate of Graceville High School. Mr. Golden was retired from the United States Navy where he served from July 20, 1940, until July 6, 1960. He was a lifetime member of the Pearl Harbour Survivor Association, the Disabled American Veterans and Graceville Masonic Lodge No. 284. He is survived by his wife, Edith Golden of Graceville; stepson, Bill Covington and his wife Diana of Graceville; stepdaughter, Joyce A. Smith and her husband Donald of Graceville; two brothers, Aubrey Golden and his wife, Bonnie of Graceville; Harry Golden and his wife Mary of Merritt Island, Fla.; nine stepgrandchildren and several stepgreat-grandchildren.

NANCY UNDERWOOD LANGFORD
Mrs. Nancy Underwood Langford, 69, of 5112 South Bonita Ave., Panama City, Fla., went to be with her Lord on Monday, March 26, 2001, at her home. Born in Ardmore, Okla., she moved here in 1978 from Gainesville, Fla. She was a homemaker and a minister's wife. Mrs. Langford was a member of First Baptist Church of Panama City where her husband, Dr. N.B. Langford, was the pastor for many years until his death in 1998. She taught Sunday school, experiencing God, women's retreats and fruits of spirit, not to mention countless other bible studies. Mrs. Langford was a member of Panama City Woman's Club, St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club and Board of Directors for the Florida Baptist Children's Home and the Florida Baptist Missions Board. Mrs. Langford is survived by one daughter, Nancy Baughman and husband, Jeff of Las Vegas, Nev.; one son, Nathan Langford of Panama City; two grandsons, Jared and Jason Baughman of Las Vegas, Nev. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, March 29, at 11 a.m. in First Baptist Church of Panama City with the Rev. Steve Bass, the Rev. Robert Davis and the Rev. Craig Conner officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacon's wives and the Nancy Langford Bible Study Group. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Mrs. Langford was a fine Christian woman and was a mentor to many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Katelyn Rae McGill, age 13, of 606 Kristanna Drive, Panama City, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 26, 2001, at Shands Hospital, Gainesville, Fla. Katelyn was a seventh-grade honor student at Mowat Middle School and a member of the girls seventh-grade Sunday school class at First Baptist Church. Katelyn was an inspiration of hope and strength to all who knew her. She is survived by her parents, Kenny and Avis McGill; a brother, Ricky McNaron; grandparents, L.D. and Evelyn McGill, and Bertha Cockcroft; aunts and uncles, Ronnie and Marie Nelson, Linda Kelly, Robert McGill, all of Panama City; and numerous cousins. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 29, at 3:30 p.m. in First Baptist Church of Panama City with the Rev. Craig Conner and the Rev. Bruce Raley officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Mr. Lamar Nettles, 69, of 131 Harlem Ave., died Friday, March 23, 2001, in a local hospital. He was a native of Ponce De Leon, Fla., and a resident of Panama City for many years. He completed school at Tivioli High School in Ponce De Leon. He was employed at West Florida Gas Company. He was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy J. (Hogans) Watson. He is survived by a loving and devoted wife, Mary Lean (Wims) Nettles of Panama City; two daughters, Laversie (Nettles) Owens of Milwaukee, Wis., and Mary Ann Nettles of Panama City; son, Roger Hogans of Milwaukee; a sister, Doris (Nettles) Kelly of Tampa; four stepdaughters, Pinkie Lewis (George) of Panama City, Marilyn Kyles, Sherry Lawerence and Rose Brown, all of Milwaukee; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; two uncles; two aunts; a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service for Mr. Nettles will be held Thursday, March 29, at 11 a.m. in St. Paul A.M.E. Church with the Rev. Henry Harper, officiating. Interment to follow in Red Bay Cemetery in Red Bay. The remains will repose at the church this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 9 a..m. until service time. MIGNON VAUTROT ANDERSON
Mignon Vautrot Anderson, 98, of Pensacola, Fla., died peacefully at her Carpenter's Creek Home on March 24, 2001. She was born in Mobile, Ala., and was a longtime resident of Panama City and a retired technical librarian from the Navy base. She was preceded in death by her husband, H.M. Anderson Sr.; and is survived by her son, H. Marshall Anderson and wife Charlene of Panama City; and a sister, Angel Lappington of Pensacola. A Mass was held in her memory at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pensacola.

HERBERT F. BIGGS
Mr. Herbert F. Biggs, age 84, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at a local hospital. He was a native of Meridian, Miss., and had lived in Panama since 1945. Mr. Biggs was a U.S. Army Vet of World War II and was fire chief at Tyndall Air Force Base for 24 years. He then worked for six years at Pacific Air Force Command at Hickam, Air Force Base in Hawaii until his retirement in 1972. Mr. Biggs was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Panama City, Fla., and was a former member of the St. Andrew Kiwanis Club and the Panama City Elks Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Margot Biggs of Panama City; two daughters, Jean Kelley and her husband Harvey of Andalusia, Ala., and Diane New and her husband Bill of Hillard, Fla.; one son, Frank Priest of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Mr. Biggs was preceded in death by his parents, W.A. and Pearl Biggs and a brother, James Andrew Biggs. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 31, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter Cathey officiating. Entombment will follow at the Chapel of Love Mausoleum in the Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, March 31, 2001, from 10 a.m. until service time.
