Steven Robert Bogue, Sr.

June 4, 1954 - October 12, 2007

Memorial service for Steven Robert Bogue, Sr., 53, Deltona, who died Friday, October 12, 2007, in Alachua, FL will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 20, at the Lankford Funeral Home, DeLand, with Pastor Owen Stricklin officiating. Mr. Bogue was born in Baltimore, MD and moved to this area 16 years ago from Charleston, SC. He was a truck driver for Frito Lay. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Persian Gulf War. Mr. Bogue was a member of the Acrophodia Car Club.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years. Robin Bogue; sons, Steven Bogue, Jr. and Brandon Bogue, both of Deltona; daughter, Amie Bogue, Hampstead, MD; mother, Barbara Ann Bogue, Hanover, PA; brothers, Jeff Bogue, Westminster, MD, Kenny Bogue, East Berlin, Scott Bogue, Hanover, PA; sisters, Pam Masimore, Hampstead, MD, Kelly Brennen, San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Kayla, Haley, Ashlyn, Gunner, Ariel and two additional grandchildren.

Ronald Victor Cooper

December 25, 1932 - October 12, 2007

Funeral service for Ronald Victor Cooper, 74, Orange City, who died October 12, 2007 at Orange City Nursing and Rehab Center, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, at Lankford Funeral Home Chapel, DeLand, with Pastor Frank Clark officiating. Calling hours are from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Cooper was born in Muskegon, Michigan and moved from there to this area in 1971. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a retired security guard and a member of Lifepoint Community Church, DeLand.

Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his son, Victor. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Kathleen Cooper; sons, Roger (Iris) Cooper, Ormond Beach, Terry (Terry) Cooper, Deltona, David (P.K. Jameson), Tallahassee; daughters, Janice (David) Stone, DeLand, Louanna (Robert) Littner, Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Wanda Cooper, DeLand; brother, Wayne Cooper, and sister, Ramona Traxler, both of Muskegon, Mich.; 13 grandchildren and three great-great-granchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to Lifepoint Community Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 105, DeLand, FL 32721.

Audrey Ann McNeilly

October 6, 1927 - October 10, 2007

Funeral service for Audrey Ann McNeilly, 80, Daytona Beach, who died Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at her home, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 16 at the Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 4675 Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange. Burial will be at Volusia Memorial Park, Ormond Beach. Calling hours are from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at the Lohman Funeral Home, 1201 Dunlawton Ave., Port Orange.

Mrs. McNeilly was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved from there to this area in 1976. She was a founding member of the Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Port Orange, where she was a volunteer. Her family and her faith were the most important things in her life.

Mrs. McNeilly was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Binder and William Binder. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, George McNeilly; son, George William (Lisa) McNeilly of Windermere, FL.; daughter, Kathleen McNeilly of DeLand; sister, Rosemary Fitzpatrick of Garden City, NY and three grandchildren.

Richard Weston Stripp

September 10, 1923 - October 9, 2007

Funeral service for Richard Weston Stripp, 84, Bark Circle, DeLand, who died October 9, 2007, at Florida Hospital, DeLand, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 13, at the Lankford Funeral Home, DeLand, with the Rev. Merrick Danforth officiating. Calling hours will be from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Stripp was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army with 42 years of service and a veteran of World War II. He was born in Framingham, Mass., and moved to this area in 1988 from Virginia. He graduated from Northeastern University, Boston, Mass., and was retired as a plant manager for Technicon. He was a member of the American Legion, the Retired Officer's Association and the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, DeLand.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Stripp; sons, Brian F. Stripp, Chelmsford, Mass., Douglas W. Stripp, Eppling, N.H., Richard Ordway, Ocala, David Ordway, Anchorage, Alaska, and John S. Bryant, Stephen City, Va.; daughter, Linda Mercier, Deltona; sister, Elizabeth Berneri, Middleton, R.I.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1620 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Suite 300, Daytona Beach, FL 32119.

Michael G. Prelec, Jr.
February 4, 1918 - October 6, 2007

Michael G. Prelec, Jr., 89, of Kincaid Road in DeLand, FL passed away Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Alliance Nursing Center.Visitation will be Tuesday, October 9, 2007 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Lankford Funeral Home, 220 East New York Ave., DeLand, Fla. Funeral Service will be held at the Lankford Funeral Home on Wednesday, October10, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. with Deacon Robert Kinsey officiating.

Mr. Prelec established and operated the Deltran Corp./ Deltona Transformer Company in 1965 and he was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. He served as Past President and past board member with the DeLand Country Club. He was also a member of the DeLand Men's Golf Assoc. His other memberships include the Lake Beresford Yacht Club, United States Power Squadron, Elks Club #1463, Volusia Manufacturing Assoc., DeLand West Volusia Committee of 100, DeLand Chamber of Commerce, Florida State Chamber of Commerce where he was the recipient of Governor's Appreciation Award for Outstanding Contributions to the State of Florida, and a recipient of the Detrick Award for his outstanding contributions in the area of Economic and Community Development. But his favorite club was the "Friday Night Nickle Poker Club." Mr. Prelec was a World War II veteran of the Merchant Marines where he received his rank as Captain.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia "Ginny" Prelec and is survived by his daughters; Diane & Richard West-Criche of DeLand, Michele & Dan Burns of Delray Beach, Fla., Melodee & Carlos Clarke, DeLand and his son, Michael & Nancy Prelec of DeLand. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Darin West, Adam West, Chris Criche, Curtis Criche, Danielle Burns, Blake Burns, Lisa Burns, Michael Prelec, Evin Prelec, Chase Clarke and Carson Clarke and great-grandchildren, Dakota West and Cheyenne West and his caregiver, Sandy Reid.

Marian Sperrazza

May 3, 1922 - October 6, 2007

Memorial service for Marian Sperrazza, 85, South Clara Avenue, DeLand, who died at home Saturday, October 6, 2007, will be 4 p.m. Friday, October 12, at Lankford Funeral Home in DeLand with Deacon Art Treadwell officiating. Mrs. Sperrazza, a homemaker, was born in Pittston, PA and moved here in 1963 from Pennsylvania . She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in DeLand.

Survivors include her sister, Carmella Brennan, Connecticut; grand-daughters, MaryAnn Carls of Sanford and Shelle Manzo of DeLand; grandson, Hugh Wharry, Kingston, PA; great-granddaughters, Brittany Wells of DeLand and Emma Carls of Sanford; nieces, Holly Faries and Robin Garner and nephews, John Brennan and Mike Brennan.

Memorial donations suggested to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.

Naomi Morey
February 9, 1918 - October 4, 2007

Naomi Morey, 89, Evergreen Terrace, DeLand, died Thursday, October 4, 2007, at Florida Hospital DeLand. Born in Butler, NJ, Mrs. Morey moved to Jacksonville, FL in 1976 and then moved to this area in 1981. During the war she packed shells for the Dupont Co. She was a retired factory worker.

Survivors include her sons, Richard (Kate) Morey, Bunnell and Robert Morey, DeLand; daughters, Joyce (Jay) Kopp, DeLand and Carol Gormley, St. Augustine; eight grandchildren; seven great-grand-children and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler for the West Volusia Care Center, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.

Frederick "Fritz" Schneider III

October 16, 1947 - October 1, 2007

Memorial service for Frederick "Fritz" Schneider III, 59, DeBary, who died Monday, October 1, 2007, at his home, will be 5 p.m. Saturday, October 6, at the river. Fritz was born in Hollywood, Florida and served in the U.S. Navy. He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman and loved photography.

He is survived by cousins, Judy Culverhouse, Jodi Frost and Joy Albright.

Marion L. Burns

June 16, 1907 - October 1, 2007

Visitation for Marion Burns, 100, Frances Drive, DeLand, who died Monday, October 1, 2007, will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, October 4, at Lankford Funeral Home, 220 E. New York Ave., DeLand. The funeral service will be Friday, October 5, at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 115 E. Howry Ave. in DeLand.

Mrs. Burns was born in Portland, Maine, on June 16, 1907. She received a teaching degree from the University of Southern Maine in 1927 and taught for 5 years before moving to Camden, NH. She moved with her family to DeLand in 1939. She worked for Florida Power Corporation as a draftsman in the engineering department for 27 years and retired in 1970.

She joined the First United Methodist Church on November 30, 1941. She was a member of the Wesleyan Service Guild (now United Methodist Women) where she held various offices including secretary and treasurer. She was an active member of the church and was on the administrative board and the financial committee for several years. She resided at Oak Manor Assisted Living for the past year.

She is survived by her three children, sons, Donald (Jody) Stanley, Largo, Walter (Judy) Stanley, Daytona Beach, and daughter, Ada (Jack) Hallstrom, DeLand. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund or to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL. 32129.

Gary Joseph Grandi

July 27, 1959 - October 1, 2007

Graveside service for Gary Joseph Grandi, 48, Deltona, who died Monday, October 1, 2007, at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial, Orange City, will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 4, at the Evergreen Cemetery in Enterprise, with the Pastor Alan Gaylord officiating.

Gary was born in Malden, Mass., and moved to the area 44 years ago from Boston, Mass. He was a paint and body shop worker. He was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Grandi, Enterprise.

Survivors include mother, Velma Flowers, Deltona; stepbrothers, Dale Flowers, Maine and Ed Flowers, Texas and sister, Sandy Watson, Windermere.

Virginia L. Trentham
March 3, 1927 - September 27, 2007

Funeral service for Virginia L. Trentham, 80, Orange City, who died September 27, 2007 at her home, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 29, at the Lankford Funeral Home, DeLand. Burial will be at Hollywood Cemetery, Orange City. Calling hours are from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. tonight (Friday, September 28) at the funeral home.

Mrs. Trentham was born in Delauarelo, Indiana and moved to this area in 1959 from Muncie, Indiana . She worked for the West Volusia Memorial Hospital in DeLand where she retired in 1994. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Orange City, a volunteer with the Orange City Red Cross, member of the Orange City Cirrhosis Club and served as a councilwoman for the City of Orange City.

Survivors include her son, Charles "Tuck" (Kristi) Trentham, DeLand; daughter, Melissa (Monty) Trickey, DeLand; grandchildren, Tori, Casey, Kendra and Jessica; her special niece, Suzanne Trentham and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
