Mrs. Donna Marie Sheffield, age 37, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Thursday, May 24, 2001, at her residence. She was a native of Orlando, Fla., and had lived in Panama City for 30 years. Mrs. Sheffield was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her children, Jacob and Cody Sheffield of Panama City; mother and stepfather, Judy A. and Ernest Brannon of Lynn Haven; father, Donald Cook of Greensboro, Ga.; three sisters, Penny Rehm and her husband, Jerry of Greensboro, Ga., Cindy Pierce and Kim Fiddler and her husband, Tommy, all of Panama City; two half-sisters, Teresa Cook and Cristy Cook, both of Greensboro, Ga; and her grandmother, Ruby Scarcello of Panama City. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, May 27, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, today, May 26, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m.

RANDY STEWART
Randy Stewart, age 41, of Panama City, died tragically Thursday, May 24, 2001, from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. Mr. Stewart was a native of Dothan, Ala., and had lived in Panama City most of his life. Randy loved the water and was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his lifelong companion, Terry Cotter of Panama City; his mother, Marie Johnson, Newton, Ala.; stepmother, Brenda Stewart, Panama City; six brothers: Dan Stewart of Houston, Texas, Bill and Jenny Stewart of Morgan City, La., Terry and Christy Stewart of Panama City, Phillip and Rebecca Stewart of Houston, Howard and Kathy Nowlin of Patterson, La., Bobby and Angie Stewart of Rocky Face, Ga.; four sisters, Jerri Nowlin of Panama City, April Stewart of Panama City, Susan Johnson of Alabama, Vonda Johnson of Alabama; several nieces, nephews and many friends; and all of his furry four legged children. The family requests memorialization by cremation.

VERONICA RUTH 'BEAR' STOVER
Mrs. Veronica Ruth "Bear" Stover, age 56, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Friday, May 25, 2001, at her residence. She was a native of Millington, Mich., and had lived in Panama City for 17 years, moving here from Wildwood, Fla. Mrs. Stover was a Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) at National Healthcare. She was also a member of Springfield Baptist Church where she was a choir member and Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Stover is survived by her husband, Larry W. Stover of Panama City; two sons, Tim Cain and his wife, Melanie of Milton, Fla. and Allen Cain of Farmington Hills, Mich.; two stepdaughters, Kimberly Stover of Summersville, S.C. and Sonya Stover of Norton, Va.; mother, Lucille Angell of Millington, Mich.; two brothers, John Angell of Louisville, Tenn. and Fred Angell and his wife, Wanda of Millington, Mich.; and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 28, at Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Everage officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Sunday, May 27, from 6 to 8 p.m.

EDWARD BUSH
Edward Bush, age 88, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Saturday, May 25, 2001, at his residence. He was a native of St. Louis, Mo., and had lived in Panama City since November. He was Baptist by faith, and served in World War II and the Korean Conflict as a medic with the 69th Division, 271st Infantry, U.S. Army. Survivors include his daughters, Carole Phillips and husband, Jerry of Panama City; Barbara Fagan of Soldotna, Alaska, and Mary DeBusk of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Mae Bush. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 28, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Thomas McCardle officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, May 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. Asked to serve as pallbearers are Keith Springer, Alan Rhoades, Jerry Phillips, Barbara Fagan, Mary DeBuck and Robert Nichols.

EMMA KING CAPPS
Emma King Capps, 94, of Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, in a Springfield, Ill. hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Panama City and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City. She was preceded in death by her husband, T.S. Capps and a son-in-law, Joe G. Duncan. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Duncan of Panama City, Mrs. Frances Woodhouse of Pasadena, Calif., Bobby Jean Tunnicliffe of Great Falls, Mont., Margaret Ann Cavener of Springfield, Ill., Miss Sandra Capps of Joplin, Mo., eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Memorial services are incomplete at this time and will be announced later.

ELMA RAY CRAPPELL
Graveside funeral services for Elma Ray Crappell, 81, of Lynn Haven, Fla., who died Saturday, May 26, 2001, will be held today at 4 p.m. in the Lynn Haven Cemetery. She is survived by one son, Willard Buddy Ray and wife, Sue; one daughter, Stella Blount and husband, Jerry; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. A special thanks to her grandsons, Danny Ray and Allen Ray for their loving care of her. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Northwest Florida. A memorial service for Msgt. Leo B. DeArmond, U.S.A.F, retired, of Bayou George will be held today, May 27 at 1 p.m. at American Legion Post 356, 400 Aberdeen Parkway, Lynn Haven, Fla. Mr. DeArmond, age 66, passed away on Friday, May 18, at the VA Hospital in Indianapolis Ind., after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Grace and two sons. Donations may be made to the American Legion Post 356 Building Fund.

Lillian Morgan, age 72, of 1500 Dover Rd., Panama City, Fla., died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at a local hospital. She had been a resident of the area since 1966, moving here from Marianna, Fla., and had also lived in West Palm Beach for 15 years. Mrs. Morgan is survived by her daughter, Gayle Lawson and husband, Lott of Kwajalein, Marshall Islands; a son, H. W. "Chris" Christmas and wife, Debbie of Panama City; and four grandchildren, Amie Martini, Noelle Perryman, Blake Christmas, and Nicholas Christmas. She was preceded in death by a son, John G. Christmas. A gathering for family and friends will be held on Monday, May 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. ROBERT LEE 'SHORTY' OVERTURF
Robert Lee "Shorty" Overturf, age 36, of Southport, Fla., passed away Saturday, May 26, 2001, at his residence. He was a native of Broken Bow, Okla., and lived in the Panama City area for 11 years, moving here from Broken Bow. Robert enjoyed working with model cars and airplanes, and especially loved his favorite hobby, cooking. Survivors include his parents, George and Peggy Davis of Southport; seven sisters, Jeannie Bean, Nikki Quinn and Tonya Head, all of Panama City, Jamie Ensey of Broken Bow, Georgie Mayes of Mobile, Ala., Sharon Davis of Havlock, N.C., and Trish Labit of Wellington, Fla.; one brother, James Davis of Broken Bow; two adopted sisters, Kelly Johnson of Panama City and Carolyn Queen of Broken Bow; his grandmother, Alpha Smith of Hochatown, Okla.; three aunts, Linda Martinez of Tucson, Ariz., Sue O'dell of Idabel, Okla., and Jane Skupien of Hochatown, Okla.; one uncle, Rick Harper of Panama City; his "Special Boys", Seth, Noah, Nolon, Nathan, Kody, and P.J., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, brothers-in-law, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 29, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Lurena Womble Fowler, age 78, of the Carr Community, went to be with the Lord Thursday, May 24, at Gulf Coast Hospital in Panama City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Lawson Fowler. She was a faithful, loving and fun loving wife, mother and grandmother. "Her children called her blessed" (Proverbs 31:28). Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene and Paul Sewell of Port St. Joe, Virginia Moat of Carr Community, JoAnne and Pete Bass of Panama City, Linda and David Brown of Milton; three sons and daughters-in-law: Wilburn Fowler of Carr Community, Richard and Kim Fowler of Bristol, Roger and Vicki Fowler of Alliance; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Raymond, Marvin, and family, Cheryl, Alexandria, Savannah; Mary Lou and husband, Buddy, Delana and family, Billy, Jackie, David and Beth; Kari and family, Jerry, Scott and Heather; Delynda and family, Eric and Brantley; Laura and husband, Jay; Billy Joe and wife, Stacie; Jason, Steven, Krista, Brooke, Kara, Trevor, Devon, and Erin; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Viola and George Vartti of Hilliard, Fla., Florida Halley of Panama City and Vergie Sims of Malone; one brother and sister-in-law, J.B. and Ruby Womble of Alliance. Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. CST in Poplar Head Baptist Church in the Carr Community with the Rev. Tim Bailey and the Rev. Marvin Nichols and other family members officiating.
