ROBERT DUCK
Mr. Robert Duck, age 93, of 6508 Lazy Acre Road, West Bay, Fla., died Thursday, June 28, 2001, at a local hospital. He had been a resident of the area since 1932, moving here from Greenville, Tenn. Mr. Duck came to the area in 1932, to help organize the C.C. Camp. He retired from Standard Oil Co. and also the Bay County School Board. He also served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II. Mr. Duck is survived by his wife, Gladys Duck of West Bay, Fla.; two sons, Robert L. Duck, Jr. of West Bay, Fla., and Billy Duck of Southport, Fla,; two daughters, Evelyn Rushing of West Bay, Fla., and Carolyn Simmons of Wausau, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, John Rexter Duck; father, Rexter Duck; mother, Lydia Morgan; sisters, Helen McAmis, Queen Bitner, and Mary Belle Duck; and brothers, Paul Duck and Edward Duck. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2001, at the West Bay Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Hutchins and the Rev. Leon Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at West Bay Cemetery. Mr. Duck's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home today, July 1, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m.

BRENDA LEE NOBLES
Ms. Brenda Lee Nobles, 37, of 373 Luke Forward Road, Wewahitchka, died Friday, June 22, 2001, in Bay Medical Center. Funeral services for Ms. Nobles will be held today, July 1, at 2 p.m. in Faison Temple Church in Wewahitchka, with the Rev. Foster officiating. Interment will be held in the Williamsburg Cemetery. The remains will lie in state three hours prior to services at the church.

JAMES STEWART 'STEW' OTTO
Mr. James Stewart "Stew" Otto, 84, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Friday, June 29, 2001, in a local hospital. Born in Wheeling, W. Va., he became a resident of Lynn Haven in 1973, after a distinguished career in the U.S. Navy and civil service. Mr. Otto was a radiation biologist working in medical research at the Animal Research Institute in Bethesda, Md. He did research for the government, always caring with his heart and life for all the animals connected with his work. Mr. Otto was very involved in working with the monkey that the U.S. sent to the moon. He also was involved with the atom bomb testing on Eniwetok and in Nevada. First and foremost for Stew was being a caregiver. He took care of his aunt, who raised him until her death. He loved plants, trees, reading, listening to music, as well as shopping for his family. Mr. Otto was past president of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Panama City Chapter, recipient of the Florida Sheriff's Association Distinguished Service Award for contributing 25 years to the advancement of better law enforcement. He was also a member of the Navy Fleet Reserve and past president of AGFE. Mr. Otto is survived by his wife, Verna Robinson Otto of Lynn Haven; one son, James S. Otto Jr. and wife, Sharron of Southport, Fla.; one daughter, Sandra Otto Babb and husband, James of Wewahitchka; one sister, Lillian Schlentz of San Jacinto, Ca.; one brother, Charles Peter Larsen of Fort Worth, Texas; and four grandchildren, Jacklyn, Anthony, Daniel, and Melissa. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Otto will be conducted on Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at 10 a.m. in the Lynn Haven Cemetary, with interment to follow. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

MARY JANE QUINN
Mrs. Mary Jane Quinn, 85, of Blountstown, died Saturday, June 30, in the Gasden County Hospital in Quincy. Mrs. Quinn was born in Piqua, Ohio, and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Blountstown. Survivors include her husband, Carl Ray Quinn of Watakoneta, Ohio; three daughters, Joyce Quinn of Blountstown, Lois Mollenkamp of Watakoneta, Ohio, Linda Irene Raines of Blountstown; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. (CST) in the Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Richard Waterman officiating. Interment will follow in Williams Memorial Cemetary at Scotts Ferry. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown.

PASCHAEL SMITH
Mrs. Paschael Smith, age 94, of 4719 Hwy. 22, Panama City, Fla., passed away Fri. Jun. 29, 2001, at a local nursing home. Mrs. Smith has been a resident of Bay County since 1932, coming here from DeFuniak Springs, Fla. She was of the Methodist faith, taught school in the 1930's and was formerly employed at Tyndall Air Force Base during WW II. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband of 69 years, Mr. Marvin Smith of Panama City, Fla., and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 3, 2001, at the Callaway Cemetery with the Rev. Dewey Myers officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, July 2, 2001.

ISAIAH 'SONNY' BROWN
Mr. Isaiah Brown, 63, of 2722 East 8th St., died Thursday, June 28, 2001, in the Bay Medical Center. He was a native of Montgomery, Ala. He worked for Parthenon Prints Inc. for 20 years from where he retired in May 2001. He was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert Brown Jr. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Brown; four daughters, Debra (Charles) Dawson, Angela, Janet and Lasunda Moye; two brothers, Jimmie Brown and Willie (Pauline) Brown; four sisters, Carrie (Roosevelt) Alford, Mildred (Fred) Rainge, Annie Luster and Mary (Patrick) Pegus; several aunts, uncles and a host of other relatives and friends; and very special friends, Jackie and Larry Hurtley, and Frank and Charlotte Robinson. Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be held Tuesday, July 3, at 11 a.m. in the Battle Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Lonnie Mitchell, officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. Public visitation will begin this afternoon at the funeral home from 1 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends at the home of his wife, Mrs. Margaret Brown of 2722 East 8th St.

WILLIAM CLAYTON ELKINS
Following an extended illness, Mr. William Clayton Elkins, 75, of 1819 Georgia Court, Lynn Haven, Fla., passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family and friends on Saturday, June 30, 2001. Born in Waynesburg, Ky., Mr. Elkins along with his wife, Cleo, became a resident of Lynn Haven in 1972. Although a businessman for 50 years Mr. Elkins was best known for his lifetime faith as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Mr. Elkins was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Dorothy Elkins; two of his brothers, Clement and Johnny Elkins; and his sister, Mary Fay Finley. Mr. Elkins is survived by his wife of 54 years, Cleo May Elkins. Mr. Elkins is also survived by his three sons and their wives; William (Bill) and Janice Elkins, of Dothan, Ala., David and Glynda Elkins, of Mableton, Ga., and Robert and Debbie Elkins, of Lynn Haven, Fla. Mr. Elkins is also survived by four brothers, their wives, and one sister-in-law, James Walton and Geneva Elkins, of Kings Mountain, Ky., Arthur and Gail Elkins, of Westland, Mich., Curtis and Alice Elkins, of Waynesburg, Ky., Kenneth and Carol Elkins, of New Port Richey, Fla., and Carol Elkins, of Kings Mountain, Ky. Mr. Elkins is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 34 nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Mr. Elkins will be held at 7 p.m. today, July 2, 2001, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 5209 East 11th St., Springfield, Fla., with Brother Richard Gose officiating.

KATIE LEE MAGLICH
Katie Lee Maglich, age76, of Panama City, Fla., died Saturday, June 30, 2001, at a local hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Panama City, Fla., and was a member of Imanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed birdwatching and gardening. Mrs Maglich is survived by two daughters, Arlene Fenot and her husband, Christian of Panama City, Fla., and Kathy Street and her husband, Glen of Newton, Ala.; two grandsons, Pat Fenot and Steve Fenot of Panama City, Fla.; three granddaughters, Tammi Griggs and her husband, Brian of Panama City, Fla., Christie Mayo and her husband, Ruben of Panama City, Fla., and Tracy Watson and her husband, Bobby of Dothan, Ala.; one sister, Thelma Glenn of Panama City, Fla.; one brother, Joseph Roberts of Panama City, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren, Andrea, Kayla, Katie, James, Savannah, Haley and Justin. She was preceded in death by husband, Edward S. Maglich. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. DONALD HENRY PENNY
Mr. Donald Henry Penny, age 59, of Southport, Fla., died Saturday, June 30, 2001, at his home. Mr. Penny was a lifelong resident of Southport and was Baptist by faith. He was the owner and operator of Penny's Seafood in Southport, Fla., and prior to that he was employed by Byrd and Son Bottling Co., for 18 years. Mr. Penny was a member of Harry Jackson Masonic Lodge No. 314 of Lynn Haven, Fla., the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, S.J., USA, the Southport Mens Club and the Shaddi Shrine Temple. Mr. Penny is survived by his wife, Sharon Penny of Southport, Fla., two daughters, Beth Penny Morrell and her husband Brian of Southport, Fla., and Joy Hobson and her husband, Chuck of Southport, Fla.; three grandchildren, Cameron Hobson, Jesse Hobson and Brantley Morrell, all o f Southport, Fla.; four brothers, William Penny and his wife, Fern of Southport, Fla., Johnny Penny and his wife, Laura of Southport, Fla., Jack Penny and his wife, Bobbi of Southport, Fla., and Glen Penny and his wife, Sheila of Lynn Haven, Fla.; five sisters, Doris Tatum and her husband, Leonard of Lynn Haven, Fla., Edna Tatum of Panama City, Fla., Ruthie Miller and her husband, Billy of Southport, Fla., Linda Davis and her husband, Clark of Panama City, Fla., and Ann Walsingham and her husband, Nolan of Panama City, Fla.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Mr. Terry Wayne Barker, age 48, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., passed away Thursday, June 28, 2001, in Mt. Pleasant. He was a native of Panama City, living here until he was five years old. Mr. Barker was a carpenter and was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith. He is survived by his parents, Wayne and Jenette Lambert Barker of Mountain City, Tenn; a brother, Larry Barker of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Carol Brokaw of Weirsdale, Fla.; aunts, Jan Lambert and Charlotte Warmack, both of Panama City, Fla.; aunts and uncles, James Lambert of Panama City, Fla., and Oviedo and Howard Fisher, both of Nashville, Tenn.; and many other family members.
