Mrs. Ethel Louise Trail, 82, of Oak Grove, La., formerly of Panama City, died Thursday, July 12, 2001, in a Louisiana hospital. She was born in Lilbourn, Mo., and was a homemaker. Mrs. Trail is survived by three sons, Franklin E. Goyins Sr. and wife, Susie of Oak Grove, La., Harold Allen Goyins and wife, Nancy of St. Clair, Mo., Kenneth Earl Goyins and wife, Earline of Picayune, Miss.; one brother, John L. Ward of Halfway, Fla.; one sister, Elsie Bracken of Farmington, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 16, 2001 at 1 p.m. in Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.

HARRY LEE CALDWELL
Mr. Harry Lee Caldwell, Sr., 65, of St. Joe Beach, passed away Friday, July 13, 2001, in Port St. Joe. A native of Hartwell, Ga., he had lived here for the last 31 years. He was retired from St. Joe Paper Company, later Florida Coast Paper Company. Mr. Caldwell was of the Baptist faith, and served in the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Clodette Caldwell of St. Joe Beach; two sons, Harry Lee Caldwell, Jr. of Panama City, and Kevin Caldwell of San Diego, Ca.; one daughter, April Massingill of Lake City; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Charles Caldwell of Atlanta, Ga., and Perry Caldwell of Severn, Md.; and three sisters, Martha Ferros of Albany, Ga., Virginia Bell of Severn, Md., and Melba Doody of Hardinsburg, Ky. Funeral services will be held at Comforter Funeral Home at 11 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, July 17, 2001, conducted by the Rev. David Nichols. He will lie in state at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 9 p.m..

MARVIN DANNY DAVIS
Dan, 46, a decedent of the Va., W. Va., McCoy clan passed away at Bay Medical Center on July 10, 2001, from a massive heart attack. He was born on January 21, 1955, in Iaeger, W. Va. He received a certificate in mechanics from John R. Williams Jr. High in 1970. He graduated from Riverside High school in 1974, and the Ohio State Division of Vocational Education for Automotive Mechanics the same year. He served in the U.S.M.C. and was certified by the Dept. of the Navy as an aviation structural mechanic. He was given an honorable discharge with the National Defense Medal in 1976. His survivors include his mother, Mary and stepfather, Clifford Craft of Fountain Fla., his brother, Don and sister-in-law, Susan Davis of Springfield Fla. another brother, Darrell Winfred Griffin of Richmond, Va. His uncle and aunt, Charles and Susan Beavers of Rome, Ohio, another aunt and Uncle Margaret and Earl Arnold of Cripple Creek, Va., another aunt and uncle, Joann and Darwin Rathbun of Edgewater, Fla., and his uncle, Herb McCaleb of Naples, Fla., and many cousins, nephews, and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Noah Marvin Davis of Mavisdale, Va., and his aunt, Pauline McCaleb and aunt, Millie. Funeral services for Mr .Davis will be held on Monday July 16, 2001, at 11 a.m. at graveside at Lynn Haven Cemetery with the Rev. Curtis Kent officiating. with interment to follow. Visitation will be held Monday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Southerland Family Funeral Home.

CECELIA 'CECE' ANN SHORTT
Mrs. Cecilia (Cece) Ann Shortt, age 34, of Southampton, N.J., died Thursday, July 12, 2001. Cece was a 1984 graduate of Rutherford High School and a graduate of Gulf Coast Community College. She is survived by her husband, Michael Shortt of Southampton, N.J., and her little dog Muffin; parents, Elie and Ann Lynn of Callaway; sister, Cherry Goodwin of Mims, Fla.; brother, Mike Lynn and his wife, Judy of Pensacola; niece, Carmen Floyd of Cocoa, Fla.; nephew, David Goodwin of Cocoa; aunts, Jean Kent and her husband, Ernest of Panama City and Lillian Rausch of Callaway; mother-in law and father-in-law, Al and Dottie Shortt of Lynn Haven; sister-in-law, Lynne and Sami Oweida of Charlotte, N.C.; and a brother-in-law, Al Shortt of Lynn Haven. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 18, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Howard Browning officiating. RONNIE HAWKINS
Mr. Ronnie Hawkins, age 52, of 21934 Mudge Road, Fountain, Fla., passed away Thursday, July 12, 2001. Mr. Hawkins had been a resident of Bay County for 22 years coming here from Tennessee. He was of the Protestant faith and he loved his children and grandchildren. Mr. Hawkins is survived by his wife, Georgia Hawkins of Fountain, Fla.; three sons, Ronnie D. Hawkins and wife, Sherri, Darren Hawkins and wife, Debbie, and Brent Hawkins and wife, Kathy, all of Fountain, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Erica, Ashley, Monica, Aaron, Bryan, Justin, Marissa and Brettlee; a sister, Judy Rethmel of Tennessee; three brothers, Dolley Hawkins, Sherel Hawkins and Harliss Hawkins all of Tennessee. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at Sandy Mountain Cemetery with the Rev. Frank Meredith officiating, with Interment following. THELMA VIRGINIA KEISTER
"Ms. Thelma," as she was affectionately called by those who knew and loved her, went on to be with the Lord on July 11, 2001. She was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Jacob Andrew Keister; her parents; and five sisters. She is survived by her brother, Thomas Tate; her son, Gary Strobel; her daughter, Patricia Gee; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 18 at 2 p.m. and visitation on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. She was a member of Panama City Christian Church and Pastor Kenny Arnold will be officiating at the funeral service. JOHN STANLEY MARSHALL SR.
John Stanley Marshall Sr., 68, of 4522 Baywood Drive, Lynn Haven, died Sunday morning in a local hospital. He had been a resident here since 1987 moving here from Silver Spring, Maryland. He was a retired program analyst for the Agency of International Development. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Hiland Park Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Ann Straughn Marshall of Lynn Haven; three children, John S. Marshall Jr. and his wife, Karen of Upper Marlboro, Md., Carrie Jean Marshall of Panama City, Courtney Charles Marshall and his wife, Tammy of Panama City; two grandchildren, Heather Marshall and Greg Marshall, both of Upper Marlboro, Md.; a sister, Martha Yuhasz of South Bend, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Theresa Marshall of South Bend, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas C. Marshall. Funeral services will be announced later.

CURTIS FORESTER
Mr. Curtis Forester, 69, of Southport, Fla., died Sunday, July 15, 2001, in a local hospital. Born in Abbeyville, S.C., he moved here in 1997. He was a retired superintendent from the North Carolina State Department of Corrections and was a member of Galilean Baptist Church. Mr. Forester is survived by his wife, Hilda Forester of Southport; one son, Wayne Forester and wife Sunae of Callaway; four daughters, Emily Forester, Kathi Rosefeldt, both of Asheville, N.C., Robbie Turnage of Greenwood, S.C., and Sandi Markle of Clayton, N.C.; two grandchildren locally, Leeia and Coree and eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. this evening, July 17, in Galilean Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Parker officiating. Mr. Forester will be taken back to Candler, N.C., for burial. The family will receive friends at the church from 6 to 7 p.m. before the services.

VERA MITCHELL HUTCHISON
Vera Mitchell Hutchison, 92, of Panama City died Monday, July 16, 2001, in a local nursing home. She had worked for the Adorable Shop as a sales lady. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City and the 39ers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey E. Hutchison. She is survived by a son, Lamar Hutchison and his wife Katherine of Panama City, three sisters, Eardele Blount and Annie Bell Mason, both of Panama City and Martha Ellen Williams of Callaway, brother, J. Ed Mitchell of Abbeville, Ala., and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Oakland Cemetery with the Rev. Bruce Raley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 to 7 p.m. Those desiring to may make a donation to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church of Panama City or their favorite charity in memory of Vera Mitchell Hutchison.

Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens with military honors. EDDIE R. LEWIS
Mr. Eddie R. Lewis, age 58, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Saturday, July 14, 2001, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and a native of Letitia, Ky. Mr. Lewis had lived in Panama City for 14 years, moving here from Ohio, and was a park ranger at St. Andrew State Recreation Area since 1993. He was also a member of the Friends of St. Andrews. Mr. Lewis enjoyed restoring old Corvettes, fishing and also was a movie buff, who loved old westerns. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Shirley Lewis of Panama City; a son, Eddie R. Lewis Jr. and his wife Heather of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Denise Lane and her husband Gregory of Lakeland, Fla.; four grandchildren: Shae, Morgan, Shawn, and Trevor; father, Edward Lewis of Panama City; and two sisters, Bonnie Brusco and Pat Hughes, both of Columbus, Ohio. Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel.
