Mr. Donald Lamar Williams, age 72, of 1529 Chandlee Ave., Panama City, Fla., passed away Saturday, July 21, 2001, at his home. He had been a residence of Bay County since 1950. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 50 years, Louelle Williams; a aughter, Deborah Donato and husband, Ed of Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, Eddie L. Williams and wife, Karen of Lynn Haven, Fla.; three grandchildren, Caitlin Donato, Shawn L. Williams, Kristen Williams; a brother, Ronald Williams of Calif.; four sisters, Lynn Cross of Prattville, Ala., Gerry White of Sacramento, Calif., Fran Dillon of Prattville, Ala., and Carmen Beasley of Prattville, Ala. The family would like to give a special thank you to Hospice of Northwest Florida. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2001, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Scalf officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, July 23, 2001. Anyone wishing, may make a donation to Hospice of Northwest Florida.

DOROTHY CARMEN RYAN
Mrs. Dorothty Carmen Ryan, age 70, of 5233 Park St., Parker, Fla., passed away Friday, July 20, 2001, at a local hospital. Mrs. Ryan has been a resident of Bay County since 1989 coming here from Albany, Ga. She was of the protestant faith and she enjoyed cross words and knitting and was a retired register nurse. Mrs. Ryan is survived by her husband, Grant Manuel Ryan of Parker, Fla.; three sons, David Shoupe and wife, Joanna of Albany, Ga., Joseph Edward Pikula of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Michael S. Pikula and wife, Linda of Panama City, Fla.; two daughters, Susie Pikula of Southport, Fla., and Anna Marie Closs and husband, Raymond of Parker, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Shoupe of Albany, Ga., and Clayton Shoupe of Warren, Mich.; and three sisters, Jonnie Pauline Snay of Mt. Clemmons, Mich., Ann Martin of Melbourne, Mich., and Jimmie Hue Buckner of Flat Rock , Ark. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Taunton officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2001.

HELLEN NELSON
Mrs. Hellen Nelson, age 58, of 412 S. Rowe Drive, Panama City, Fla., has gone to be with her Heavenly Father Saturday, July 21, 2001. Mrs. Nelson had been a resident of Bay County since 1970 moving here from Mobile, Ala. She was a member of Cove Baptist Church and retired from Berg Steel Pipe. Mrs. Hellen is survived by her mother, Agnes Grey of Leesburg, Fla.; two daughters, Agnes Robertson and husband Aaron of Fountain, Fla., Mary E. Nelson of Dolphin Island, Ala.; three sons, Elisha Nelson and wife Patricia of St. Petersburg, Fla., Dwight Nelson of Panama City, Dwayne Nelson of Panama City; a brother, Herbert "Rusty" Gray of Leesburg, Fla.; six grandchildren, Taylor Marie, Julia Ann, Herbert Dwayne, Matthew Aaron, Brittany Nicole, MaKayleigh Elizabeth. She was preceded in death by her father Herbert Gray; two grandchildren, Rose Hellen and Elisha Nelson. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 25, at Cove Baptist Church with the Rev. Nathan Keen Officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Kent--Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. today, July 24. Asked to serve as pallbearers are Robert Owens, Dallas Preston, Mark Gross, Johnny Alderman, Mark Caughlin, Matt Albers, Bryan Ferns. LATRELLE BROCK
LaTrelle Brock, 79, of Breman, formerly of Smyrna, Ga., died July 22, 2001. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Castellaw's Chapel with the Rev. Bill Shattles officiating. Interment will be at Crest Lawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to Calvary Childrens Home, Powder Springs, Ga. She was a native of Fulton County, Ga., and a member of the Tabernacle in Atlanta. Sisters include Linda Nelson of Breman and Marjorie Ostergard of Panama City, Fla., nieces and nephews. Castellaw Funeral Home in Smyrna is in charge of the arrangements.

ALMA 'JINX' NISSEN
Mrs. Alma (Jinx) Nissen, 71, died at her home in South Walton County on July 22, 2001. Born in Port Clinton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Bertha and John Nissen. Formerly of West Chester, Pa., and Betterton, Md., she spent six months a year in her South Walton home until becoming a resident last year. Jinx served in the Army from 1950 to 1953. She had basic training at Fort Lee, Va., and was stationed at Valley Forge Army Hospital 1950 to 1951 and Fifth General Hospital, Stuttgart, Germany, from 1951 to 1953. She was discharged as a corporal in 1953. Mrs. Nissen worked at Merck Pharmaceutical, West Point, Pa., as a lab technician for 38 years, retiring in 1993. Jinx was a life member of VFW Post 10555, Inlet Beach, Fla., and was a very active member at the time she resided in South Walton. She is survived by two brothers, Burnell (Buck) Nissen of Sandusky, Ohio, Alton (Red) Nissen, of Port Clinton, Ohio; four nephews and three nieces and their families. She will be sorely missed and fondly remembered as a caring and outgoing friend and companion by her many friends including South Walton residents Maris Atchison, Lorraine Bradford and also by Joan Hitchner and Louise Vandever (who served with Jinx in Germany 1951 to 1953). Jinx has requested there be no services. Those who desire may make donations, in her name to The Hospice of Northwest Florida, 2589 Jenks Ave., Panama City, Fla., or VFW Post 10555, 12678 E. EDITH S. NEAL
Mrs. Edith S. Neal, 99, of Panama City, died Saturday evening, July 21, 2001, in a local nursing home. Born in Geneva, Ala., she moved here in 1923. She was a housewife whose greatest joy was taking care of family and friends. Mrs. Neal was a member of the Central Baptist Church of Panama City where she attended regularly until she became too frail, however, she never lost her trust in the Lord. She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Henry Walter Neal. Mrs. Neal is survived by her sister-in-law, friend, and caregiver, Eunice H. Stanley of Panama City, one 102-year-old sister, Bernice Gunter of Tampa, Fla., and one brother, Barney Stanley and wife, Pearl of Panama City. Graveside services for Mrs. Neal will be conducted today, July 24, 2001, at 10 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Interment will follow.

KENNETH RAYMOND HARPER
Mr. Kenneth Raymond Harper, age 88, of 2822 Mary Baldwin Circle, Panama City, Fla., passed away Sunday, July 22, 2001, at a local nursing home. Mr. Harper had been a resident of Bay County since 1974 moving here from Pontiac, Mich. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Panama City, Fla. Mr. Harper is survived by a daughter, Susan Harper of Panama City, Fla.; two sons, Roger Harper and wife Paula of Wauseon, Ohio, Scott Harper and wife Carlene of Panama City, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Harper and wife Laveda Harper. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bruce Railey officiating. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m., today, July 24, 2001.

KAREN MARIE STOKES WHITENER
Karen Marie Stokes Whitener, 37, of Southport, Fla., died Saturday, July 21, 2001, in a local hospital. She had been a resident of Bay County for the past five years moving here from Perry, Ga., where she was a district manager for a convenience store. She was a member of the Sand Hills Baptist Church and the ADHD Support Group. She was also a volunteer with foster children. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Whitener; and her father, Charles Sidney Stokes. She is survived by her mother, Lee Stokes; two children, Brandon Whitener, Tiffany Whitener; three brothers, Michael Smith and his wife, Tracey, Gary Breeding and his wife, Debbie, Charles Stokes; two stepsisters, Sheila Branch and her husband, Eugene, Jacqueline Jones; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Gann officiating. Those desiring to may make a contribution to the Anchorage Children's Home in memory of Karen Stokes Whitener.

ANN SNEAD WARREN
Ann Snead Warren, 69, of 3418 Lowe St., Panama City, died Monday, July 23, 2001, in her home. She retired from the shipping department of International Paper Company. She had been a resident of Bay County since 1939, moving here from Jacksonville, Ala. She was a 1950 graduate of Bay High School and a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama City. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.E. and Eva Maude Snead; and her sister, Kathryn Snead Wheelus. She is survived by her husband, Ray Warren of Panama City, daughters, Pam Duncan and husband Mike of Lynn Haven, and Cynthia White and her husband Don of Floral City, Fla.; four grandchildren, Michelle White, Michael White, Tommy Duncan, Chris Duncan; one great-grandson, Matthew Shippert; brother-in-law, Glen Wheelus of Panama City; niece, Kay Hildensterger of Millbrook, Ala.; nephew, Mark Wheelus of Tampa, Fla.; and her very special friends the "Paper Dolls." Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Warren officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. Those desiring to may make a contribution to the Hospice of N.W. Mrs. Elsie Mae Manor, 73, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Sunday, July 22, 2001, at her home. Born in Fort Myers, Fla., she moved here in 1958 from Punta Gorda, Fla. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Gospel Church. Mrs. Manor is survived by three daughters, Judy Riley and husband Bruce, Carrie Wise all of Panama City, Fla., and Flo Russell and husband Johnny of Eustis, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, 23 great- grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at 2 p.m. in the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
