Mrs. Jewel M. DeBord, age 75, of 2309 Idlewood Drive, Bonifay, Fla., and formerly of Panama City, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at Bay Medical Center, Panama City, Fla. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra L. Feix. She is survived by her husband, James L. DeBord, of Bonifay; two daughters, Lawana Hughes and husband, the Rev. Melvin of Mobile, Ala., and Bonnie L. Taulbee and husband, Bob of Eaton, Ohio; one son, Charles E. DeBord of North Carolina; and one sister, Margaret Hutto of Andalusia, Ala.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, at Peel Funeral Home Chapel, Bonifay, with interment following at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery, Andalusia, Ala., with the Rev. Melvin Hughes officiating. Family will receive friends at Peel Funeral Home Friday, Aug. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m.

NATHAN M. "DICK" MAULDEN
Funeral services for Mr. Nathan M. "Dick" Maulden, 83, of Lynn Haven, Fla., will be held today at 11 a.m. in Southerland Family Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Curti and the Rev. Andrew Danley officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories. Masonic graverites will be accorded at graveside by Bay Masonic Lodge No. 337. The lodge will open at 10 a.m. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Curtis Maulden, Chris Maulden, Brad Picard, Charlie Williams, Taft Park and Todd Wolfrom. Honorary pallbearers will be all Master Masons.

GLENDA JOYCE MORRIS
Ms. Glenda Joyce Morris, age 47, of 6802 Davis Road, Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at a local hospital. She had been a lifelong resident of the area and attended the Living Word of Faith Fellowship. Mrs. Morris was a secretary at the Aqua Bay Marine. She is survived by her mother, Alice Morris Maddox; siblings, Johnny Ray Morris and his wife Sharon, John Michael Morris and Lisa Ritter, Sue Sapp and her husband Lester, and Beverly Hall and her husband Bobby; nieces and nephews, Nicole Morris, Joni White and her husband Tyler, Katelyn Morris, Jason Sapp and his wife Tiffany, Steven Sapp, Joel Hall, Jordan Hall, Julia, Hall, and Sarah and Haley; a great-niece, Alexis Morris; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Morris; a niece, Krista Sapp; and a stepfather, Huron Maddox. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, at the Living Word Fellowship with the Rev. Hayward Miller, the Rev. John Ramsey, the Rev. Curtis Kent and the Rev. Harold Taunton officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Bruce Hughes, Ho Nguyen, Joe Smith, Randy Morris, Charlie Griffin, Carl Curti, Hughie Paul Henderson, Houston Swearingen and Danny Howell. BONNIE REBA PEASLEY
Mrs. Bonnie Reba Peasley, 90, of Lynn Haven, Fla., died Wednesday morning, Aug. 1, 2001, in a local nursing home. Born in Burkesville, Ky., she moved here in 1988 from Nashville. She was a retired shoe seamstress, having worked at Jenesco Shoe Company for 42 years. She was a member of the Christian Church at Panama City and a member of the Lynn Haven Garden Club. Mrs. Peasley is survived by her husband, Curtiss Peasley of Lynn Haven; one daughter, Bonnie Deal of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; one son-in-law, George Triplett of Lynn Haven; one sister, Mary Boyd of Nashville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Gary Lane and Ariannna Wieman, both of Lynn Haven and Barry Deal of Ringold, Ga.; three great-grandchildren, Thosa Lane of Lynn Haven, Kelsey Wieman and Marisa Wieman of Lynn Haven. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Aug. 3, at 10 a.m. in Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Arnold officiating. Mrs. Peasley will be taken back to Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville, Tenn., for burial. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

MARY ANN SIMONSON PRICE
Mary Ann Simonson Price, 50, of Bayou George passed away Monday, July 30, 2001. Born in Burlington, Vt., in 1950, she lived in Fairbanks, Alaska, from 1952 to 1954; Panama City, Fla., from 1954 to 1960; Ottawa, Canada, from 1960 to1963; New York from 1963 to 1965; and settled back here in 1965 with her parents and family. In 1963 as a young ballerina she performed at the New York City World Fair. She was a loving mother, daughter and sister who will be truly missed by all those who knew her. Before her retirement while working for local restaurants such as the Shrimp Boat, Capt. Anderson's, 23rd Street Waffle Shop and Barnhill's, she truly enjoyed meeting people and felt obligated to make you leave with a smile. Her compact size was deceptive of her huge heart and genuine concern for people. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Price and son John Price of Panama City; parents, John C. and Mary G. Simonson; brothers, Jack, Bob and wife Joy, Mike and wife Denise, Dick Simonson, and numerous nephews and nieces all of Lynn Haven; and many friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Hurley Price. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 4, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Parker Msgr. William A. Crowe officiating. Interment will follow at Lynn Haven Cemetery. Asked to serve as active pallbearers are Wesley Pendarvis, Cullen Hartzog, Dennis French, and Ryan Norris. GLORIA JEAN THOMAS
Mrs. Gloria J. Thomas, 62, of 1204 Louisiana Ave., died Friday, July 27, 2001, in Bay Medical Center. She was a native of Dothan Ala. but had been a longtime resident of Bay County. She was educated in the Public School System of Gadsden County, Fla. She excepted and devoted her life to Jesus Christ at an early age and joined the Pine Bloom Baptist Church in Greensboro, Fla. She united in Holy Matrimony to the late Huie C. Thomas. After moving to Panama City she joined the Mt Olive Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health failed. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Gwendolyn (Dino) Mallard, Allentown, Pa.; one son, Huie Charles Thomas, Panama City; four sisters, Irene (Freeman) Walker,Chicago, Ill.; Annie Murl Weaver, Panama City; Mary G. Shivers, Chicago, Ill.; Catherine (James) Powell, Pensacola; three grandchildren, Tony Manning, Pensacola, Fla., Terrell Thomas, Washington D.C., Jamal Thomas, Tallahassee; three great-grandchildren, Tony, Brittany, Kaylup Manning, Pensacola, Fla.; three brothers-in-law, Wallace (Margaret) Thomas, Jacksonville, Fla., Willie Lee (Pat) Thomas, Nashville, Tenn., Robert Thomas, Fort Myers, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Irma (John) Kelly, Nashville, Tenn.; six aunts, Maggie Kelly Smith, St. Petersburg, Fla; Essie Mae Kelly, Dothan, Ala.; Carrie Kelly, Gretna, Fla.; Sarah Kelly, Quincy, Fla.; Daisy Patterson, Rodell Grier, Panama City, Fla. Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas will be held Friday, Aug. 3, at 1 p.m. in New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Woodrow Wilson, officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Public visitation for viewing will begin at the funeral home today at 1 p.m. A family hour will be held in Battle Memorial Funeral Home chapel this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. DOLLIE MAE GAY PILCHER TURNER
Mrs. Dollie Mae Gay Pilcher Turner, age 75, of 1306 Frankford Ave., Panama City, Fla., died Tuesday, July 31, 2001, at a local hospital. She has been a resident of the area since November of 1965, moving here from Enterprise, Ala. Mrs. Turner was a member of Springfield Community Church. She was a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Frankie Gail Hill and her husband Bobby L. of Dothan, Ala., Angie Jo Pettis and her husband Wayne, Dorothy Sue Wills and her husband Gene, and Sally Marie Hall and her husband John, all of Panama City; a son, Billy R. Pilcher and his wife Hazel of Chancellor, Ala.; a daughter-in-law, Jeanette Pilcher of Panama City; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Webb of Crestview, Fla., Edith Windham of Samson, Ala., Bonnie Martin of Geneva, Ala., and Mildred Ward of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; brothers, L.P. Gay of Enterprise, Ala., and Chester Harold Gay of Chancellor, Ala.; and a stepbrother, Harry McClellean of Panama City. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Pilcher; and her husband, Tom Turner; and a son, Johnny Gay Pilcher. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 3, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Warren Wright and the Rev. Harry McClellan officiating. Services will also be held at 3 p.m., Friday, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Enterprise, Ala., with the Rev. Kevin Cawthorn officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery. JOEL KEITH WILSON
Joel Keith Wilson was born in Jacksonville, Fla., on May 6, 1929, the son of the late, Joel Todd and Lillian Gordon Wilson. Mr. Wilson was united in marriage to the former Zettie Ray. He was a Baptist minister for over 30 years serving at five different churches and as a missionary, He also performed more than 80 weddings with a charge of $2 per wedding. Mr. Wilson held a masters degree in theology from Baptist Bible Institute in Graceville, Fla. He was a dedicated Christian and family man. Mr. Wilson was a member of Southport, Fla., Teamsters Union No. 2040 where he served as president for over 20 years. He also loved to fish. Mr. Wilson was a veteran of the United States Navy, holding the position of petty officer. He passed from this life on July 30, 2001, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tenn., at the age of 72 years, two months, and 24 days. Other than his wife, Zettie Ray Wilson of Lynn Haven, Mr. Wilson is survived by three daughters, Wilma King of Roanoke, Va., Debbie Sowell of Panama City and Shirley Ingraham of Detroit, Mich.; one son, Robert Wilson of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruby Johnson of Pleasanton, Calif.; and one brother, Alva Ashley Wilson of Houston, Texas. The family requests memorials made to Kingswood Baptist Church Building Fund, 9206 Kingswood Road, Southport, Fla. 32409. Shackelford Funeral Home in Selmer, Tenn., was in charge of the arrangements.

Jerome Williams of Mount Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Ruth Hill, 907 Cone Avenue. Visitation hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of service tomorrow.

MYRON CURTIS 'CURT' GILBERT
Mr. Myron Curtis "Curt" Gilbert, 72, of Beacon Hill, Fla., passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at his home. Born in Sun, W.Va., he had lived in Beacon Hill since 1995. He worked for SCM Corporation for 23 years as a chemical technician and managed the Dothan Mini-Storage for 10 years. Mr. Gilbert was Protestant by faith and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict, serving in the U.S. Army and the U.S.A.F. He was a member of Tupelo Masonic Lodge No. 289 and the Eastern Star. Mr. Gilbert is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Gilbert of Beacon Hill; two sons, Reggie L. Gilbert and wife Joni of Panama City, Curtis L. Gilbert and wife Rosa of Panama City Beach and five grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at 11a.m. CST in Garden of Memories Cemetery with the Rev. David Nichols officiating. Masonic rites will be accorded at graveside. The lodge will open one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. EST this evening. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of Northwest Florida in memory of Mr. Gilbert.
