ROSCOE R. BILLMAN
Mr. Roscoe R. Billman of Mexico Beach passed away Friday in Panama City. Born in Oklahoma, he had been a resident of Mexico Beach for the past 30 years. Before his retirement he was a store manager for the Singer Sewing Machine Company, managing several stores in Florida and Georgia. He is survived by three nephews and one niece. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. CDT Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church of Mexico Beach, conducted by the Rev. Charlie Parker. Cremation is scheduled.

ROBERT EARL 'BOB' COX
Robert Earl "Bob" Cox, 69, of Panama City, Fla., Played his final round of golf friday, September 7, 2001, at his residence. Mr. Cox was born in Kingsport, Tenn. He moved here on April Fools Day in 1971. Bob was a graduate of Ridgecrest High School in China Lake, California. Bob had served in the U.S. Navy as a corpman for 22 1/2 years. Upon retirement he worked as manager for Crystal's oil and Gas, Pappy's Marina Bar, and soon after accepted the Lord as his saviour. Bob then began working at Tyndall Air Force Base Commissary's meat department. After retiring from that position he worked security at Commodore Condominums in Panama City Beach. He was a devout Christian and was a member of Central Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother and father as well his ex-wife, Rita M.Voilett-Cox. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Norma Cox of Panama City; son, Robert Earl Cox Jr. (Bobby) of Panama City; three daughters, Rachel (Jamie) Keith of Indiana ; Renee (Marcus) Gandy of Youngstown; Rosalie Felkins of South Carolina; one brother, James R.Cox (Germaine) of Barstow, Ca.; one sister, Johnnie Dean Cox of Panama City, Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Cox will be held Tuesday, Sept.11, 2001, at 1 p.m. at the Southerland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.Frank Starling and the Rev. Richard White officiating. Interment will follow in the Lynn Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Panama City Christian School or Covenant Hospice (formerly Hospice of Northwest Florida). Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday.

STELLA DICKERSON
Mrs. Stella Dickerson of Panama City Beach, Fla., passed away on Friday, September 7, 2001, in a local hospital. Born in Hazard, Ky., she moved here in 1979 from Cadiz, Ind. Mrs. Dickerson was a retired housekeeper and a member of His Way Ministries. She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Monroe Dickerson; infant son, Sammy Dickerson; and one daughter, Ruth Ann Walters. Mrs. Dickerson is survived by one son, Haven Hughes and wife, Carolyn of Southportl; two daughters, Margaret Wallen and husband, Dennis of Madison, Ind., and Catherine Stewart of Panama City Beach; one sister, Marie Rule of Pocono Summit, Pa.; and five grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Dickerson will be conducted Monday, September 10, 2001, at 2 p.m. in the Southerland Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jack Patterson officiating. The family will be receiving friends Sunday afternoon, September 9, 2001, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to His Way Ministries at 706 Kristanna Dr., Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of Mrs.Dickerson.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gale French, age 53, of 10602 Hwy. 2301, Youngstown, Fla., who passed away, Thursday, Sept. 6, 2001, will be held at 2 p.m Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at the Central Pentecostal Ministries with the Rev. Don Shoots officiating. Interment will follow at Brown Cemetery.

GENE LARRY SELDENRIGHT
Master Sgt. retired Gene Larry Seldenright, age 68, of Callaway, Fla., passed away Friday, September 7, 2001, at his residence. He had lived here 25 years, retiring from Tyndall A.F.B after serving at various bases around the world. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 27 years. Mr. Seldenright was a member of the First United Methodist Church and enrolled in The Lillie Penington Sunday School Class. Mr. Seldenright also helped cook Wednesday night dinners. He was a member of the American Legion, a volunteer for the Red Cross, and the Meals on Wheels Program. Mr. Seldenright was an avid FSU fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR races. He was a collector of coins and Dicken's Village Christmas Houses. Gene loved to fish, play golf, and spend time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Seldenright of Panama City; one daughter Bambi and Husband Charles Jackson; children, Dylan and Mary Elizabeth of Tallahassee Fla.; two sons, Tom Seldenright of Panama City and girlfriend Yvette Pavone of Tallahassee, Fla.; Larry and wife Jamie Seldenright; children, Racheal Donaway, Sarah and Husband Tommy Davis Jr. of Panama City and Hallie and husband Clay Landrum of Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, Charles Daniel and wife Sue Seldenright of Dayton, Ohio. Mr Seldenright was proceeded in death by his mother and step-father Ellen and Richard Wood of New Philadelphia, Ohio; father, Clarance Daniel Seldenright of Midvale, Ohio; sister, Juanita Chaney of Midvale, Ohio; and brother, William Seldenright of Midvale, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 13, 2001, at Kent Forest Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Kent Forest Lawn, with full military Honors preformed by Tyndall Air Force Base Honor Guard. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday, September 12, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m.

GRACIE LEMIEUX
Mrs. Gracie Lemieux, age 95, of 7421 Hwy 2302, Southport, Fla., passed away Friday, September 7, 2001, at a local nursing home. She was a lifelong resident of Southport. Mrs. Lemieux was a member of Southport Holiness Church. She was a devoted housewife and loving mother. Mrs Lemieux is survived by three daughters, Pansy Mae Burkett of Panama City, Fla.; Lois Joyner, also of Panama City, Fla.; and Mazie St. Clair of Southport, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Alberta Obert. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2001, at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Winfred King officiating. Interment will follow at Southport Cemetery. Asked to serve as pallbearers will be Mrs. Lemieux grandsons. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday, September 9, 2001, from 6 to 8 p.m.

ZADA IRENE SPURLOCK SASNETT
Zada Irene Spurlock Sasnett, 81, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, in Panama City, Fla. Graveside services were held Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Selma Baptist Church Cemetery in Dothan, Ala., with Kent-Thornton Funeral Home directing. Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Resource Center, P.O. Box 1170, Dothan, Ala. 36302. Mrs. Sasnett was born Nov. 5, 1919, in Dale County, Alabama, to Guy Lee Spurlock and Mattie Lee Bowman Spurlock. She was a lifelong resident of Dale and Houston Counties. Mrs. Sasnett worked at Dothan Manufacturing for 20 years. She also was a salesperson at Joyce's Touch of Class. Mrs. Sasnett was a member of Central Baptist Church in Dothan. Mrs. Sasnett was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, B.J. (Bishop) Sasnett; and a sister, Leona York. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Williamson and David Williamson; two granddaughters, Beverly Humphreys and husband Tim of Panama City and Dana Ming and husband Andy of Dothan; one grandson, Bruce Williamson and wife Renee of Dothan; great-grandchildren, Heather and Amanda Williamson, Danielle, William and Kristen Humphreys, and Andrew and Jessica Ming; six sisters, Susie Weed of Graceville, Fla., Bernice Hammack of Midland City, Ala., Mary Loyce Tedder and husband Lamar of Dothan, Frances Tidwell of Columbus, Ga., Mary Huston and husband Walter of Tarentum, Pa.

Ms. Marla Zahara, age 43, of 8406 Brandon Road, Panama City, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at her home. She had been a lifelong resident of the area and enjoyed fishing and cooking. Ms. Zahara is survived by a son, Kevin W. Zahara and his wife Hanna of Houston, Texas; a brother, John Zahara and his wife Debra of Bayou George, Fla.; two sisters, Evelyn Maria Corbin and her husband John of Callaway, Fla., and Sheila Ivie and her husband Greg of Houston, Texas; a grandchild, Natala Zahara of Houston, Texas; three nephews, Bubba, Greg, and Allen; a niece, Keesa; her step-father, Lloyd Corbin of Panama City, Fla.; and her long time Companion, Emory Giddens. She was preceded in death by her parents, A.A. and Willie Mae Zahara; and a brother, Jeffrey Zahara. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2001, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Benedict and the Rev. Donnie Young officiating.
